Yes very much this. But a semicompetent player will understand that you can sink or scare of the bbs in the oposing team, thus creating lebensraum for the cruisers. Who can now kill DDs wich you spot. Major recipe for teamwork and awesome win. -

I trend to agree. Harekaze, LoYang and Kidd are better and more OP ships. Asashio is and will be a BB counter. But as BBs are so prevalent and OP as they are. It will be insanely strongt in the current meta. -

Potatoes are going to vegetate? And unicorns will be shitting rainbows in any ship. I dont think Asashio will matter all that much in the long run. I bought one and love it so far. Played mainly in ranked thus far. 2 wins out of 3 I think. Might be 3 out of 4 or 2-2. Its basicly a kagero. It sucks vs cruisers but can torp the bbs behind the cap. In both ships, Kagero or Asashio, you will need teamsupport. In that aspect its not that different. In a high ca/cl environment I would go Kagero. But as the ranked meta is moving towards 3dds and 4bbs the Asashio is not a bad pick. You push the bbs back leaving room for your bbs to push forward. The counter is good dds screening their bbs detecting torps. This is really not much different from normal play... -

Asashio is absolutly not for ranked and cant cap or kill DDs. It can only farm BBs from far away... Got stuck in this match yesterday... Very proud to have survived. 2 try hard CV divisions batteling it out. The rest of us just trying to hang on for dear life. Worchester seems to be a beast in capable hands. -

Kagero guns have really good alfa. And you have 6. When you shoot your butt should already be towards the intended victim and since asashio has both trb and smoke you can always smoke up if things get nasty. Guess you already know this but someone might read and learn something Also you are right if people shoot what you are spotting it helps a lot. Talking to you spawncamping muppets... you know who you are. -

That is an intriguing thought. CVs would probably loose a lot of their spotting potential as less squads are in play and focus will probably be on dealing damage. Mabe there could be a capital ship quota. Its a really good idea. -

And yes this is what Im expecting them to do as well. It ought to include some sort of hopping from squad to squad as one squad at a time would feel inadequate. I cant see it working without some sort of autopilot, which would probably also work as a sort of autodrop... It will be interesting to see what they cook up. I still think they have to increase CVs to 2 per side at higher tiers to retain a decent number of cv-players. -

I think most bbs will still just camp. And probably use the Asashio as an excuse to do so. But I dont think Asashio players have an excuse to avoid caps. Though keeping at the outskirts of the cap with their butt toward the enemy is probably advisable. -

I only have 1 game in it so far. 100k damage to a GK 5min into the game. No bbs in range after that. Did another 27k to dds and got 2 caps. Its a good ship, op vs bbs, but plays as kagero. The guns are ok, detection is godlike and you have smoke so there is no reason not to play the objective. If people dont that is not the ships fault. -

I get that since only 1 or 2 CVs are allowed on each side it requires fewer players to saturate the MM. This is according to me part of the design flaw. And part of the current issues with CVs. Jingles said something like the rework is not what you expert. Philigula said that people who dont like it will be compensated and something about helping them transition to other classes. To me it sounds like the rework will be major. And listning to Notser it sounded like the RTS playstyle was about to change. We dont know and probably won't for 3-6 months. But looking at lower tiers and more healthy cv numbers. Low tier CVs have few squads that move slower. They can only autodrop, not strafe and can be up to 2 on each side. So low skill requirements and you get a buddy to help you if things go sideways or atleast share the blame. On high tiers planes are faster and you have more squads. AA bubbles are bigger so it requires more awarenes to where and when you can go. Strafing skills are vital and autodrops greatly increace your combat efficiency if done well. You are also alone in your class, so all eyes are on you if things dont go as planned. So high skill high pressure. Given this my guess is that they will try to lower the skill-requirements and take some of the pressure of. And I know you dont view the skill-requirements as high. Still numbers are what they are. Your average potato Joe thinks its not worth playing high tier CVs. -

As Ive said previously I would be able to diskuss this better in Swedish. Then it would probably not be so senseless. The point Im Always trying to make is that the 1 vs 1 format is broken. It allowes a very skilled player to dictate the outcome of the match to often. All other classes are balanced by the fact that multiple players can play the same shipclass. Sometimes 4 really good dds will face 4 crappy. The outcome of that encounter is most of the time set in stone. But more often the skilled ones will end up on separate teams. You always end up saying that CVs could be fine if only people played as a team and specked for aa. I agree, it would greatly decrese the influence of CVs. You also say that the cv population is fine. That I dont agree with and neither does WG it seems. I believe the reason its not fine is because the 1 vs 1 format, mabe also the RTS or the combination of the two. I do agree with your opinion that CVs do not stack very well. So In order to make the cv a part of more games and to produce a healthy population of cv players WG has to re-desigh them so that they stack better without breaking the game. -

No matter what peoples opinion is about the powerlevel of CVs. The problem that cant be solved as is now. Is the one vs one. CVs are more influential then other classes of ships, atleast in the right hands. This is why no more then one can be allowed per side in higher tiers. Also I think the game would become laggy with the amount of squads multiple CVs would bring. But as long as only one CV is allowed per side it will negatively impact the amount of people who play them. People dont want the pressure of being the one to potentialy sink the team. If only one DD was allowed DD-players might dwindle to because you would always get the blame in case of a loss. So the solution according to me has to be more CVs in game and every game. That or no CVs. To allow more CVs in every game they have to be less influential... not nessecarily the same as less powerful.

A tip. I just got my Grozovoi and Im kinda missing the Udaloi for the same resons that you give. Still the detection and torps let you do things you cant in the uda. I got it but kept the Udaloi The z52 was my first t10 and Ive been struggeling with it. It has the same Issues that the Grozovoi has. Its size makes it hard to manuver in caps and sluggish as a torp boat. The guns are however good so I went gunbuild. And now its fun to play. Reload mod gives you 3.5 sec reload and aft on the commander gives you 14.5km range. German smoke sucks but at t10 its not that bad. I push caps, bully dds with hydro and when everyone has left i make the bbs camping in the back burn from my smoke. German dd he is not much to brag about. But 10% fire chance with demo expert and 3.5 sec reload (before ar kicks in) is no joke. And the ap is great if you get to close. So my tip is go gunbuild on your z. Its great if you like the Udaloi.

T8 will be Kagero and Kiev for the hell of it. T10 z52, Grozovoi, YY, Gearing, Shima and Kebab. I think YY will be the one I play the most. I would love a t4 ranked in the future but it will never happen sadly .

So Ive done 10+ games with 14.5 range and I find that it works. The playstyle so far is more taking a cap sittnng in it and bullying everyone. Taking another, rince repeat... The extra 2.5 km range on the guns does work well. Ive had my first 200k+ damage game in the z52. And the amount of fires it starts is comparable to my Kebab so far. I had a look at my stats and the z52 was really underperforming damage wise. Given another 100 games I think I could put it around 100k on average.
