    Hey, Wargaming let's try this for CV direction?

    Does anyone know what is happening with the "only minimap spotting" testa? In my opinion only spotting on minimap by planes together with planes on the carrier deck taking damage from incomming fire would make CVs okayish to play against.

    You still have to consider range and ability to hit targets. In the end the Russians and French will set more fires per game. Unless your enemy really likes standing still in front of you burning. There can also only be so many fires. So the amount of Conqs, Smolensks etc camping behind you will affect how many fires you can set.

    T10 camo = 5000 dublons T9 = 4000... T8 = 2000? I cant remember. But anyway its atleast worth 11000 dublons and free. But yes I would also love to have some of the new perma camos. The Shima camo is cool, as is the HIVs, but Montys oh my gawd its so nice I could almost start to play BBs just to look at it.

    Z52 Long range gun build?

    Hi I play DDs a lot. My first love was the German DD line. I won't say my stats are the greatest in them. But I have gotten a little bit better since then. Still play the z46 sometimes but very rarely the z52. I used it in CW where it works fine, but in randoms its no fun. So Ive got a t10 with a 19 captain that I dont use. My plan now is to go full gunbuild on it with emphasis on range. Its not that slow. 42 knots? With spood beast. And 16.8km range with aft and range module. It will still have 6.1 detection and 10.5 km torps. But slower reload. So what do you think... Is it going to work. Im thinking Udaloi with better consealment, better torps and longer range. Worse HE but better AP. It will still have the mega hydro for pushing caps and not being torped in smoke. The question is if it can hit on that range.

    Z52 Long range gun build?

    Yes the only version of the z52 I see myself playing in the future is full gunbuild with IFHE and AFT + legendary module. Max torps and DAKA. But then again there are other ships that do it better. So I might as well play Grozovoi, Daring or Kleber for guns. If I want to torp things Shima or Gearing (Sommers if I ever get the steel).

    Z52 Long range gun build?

    I stopped playing my z52. In fact I basicly stopped playing t10. I do try to make my Kleber work still, but for some reason I suck in it. I would rather play t7-9 and win 70% of games then suffer in t10 to win around 50%. The z52 is in my eyes in a horrid state. I saw one today and killed it with my Le Terrible. 10k in 3 salvos. Then another 6k when its smoke ran out. It cost me 4k life. I really dont know why all t10 DDs have to be so clumpsy and huge. The exception being YY but that was badly nerfed. DDs in lower tiers are so much more fun to play.

    The way you play DDs depends on it you are in a division. If you have other DDs with you. If there is a CV or CVs in the game. If there are radars and what radars are in the game. The enemy comp and your teams comp, strong long range or short range. What tier you are playing at. And lastly what DD you are playing. But in general I find that gunboat DDs with range and IFHE are universaly better then their counterparts. A DDs job, in random games, is to spot (make sure your team have crap to shoot at). It should also claim caps that have been won. But if I have to choose between sitting still and useless in a cap that is contested just so that useless random people can feel safe hiding behind islands close to spawn, or going up next to the cap and shooting (and spotting) the other teams cruisers and BBs. Then I will do the latter. It is not the DDs job to spot other DDs, atleast not in games with radar and or CVs. But shooting in the open has the benefit of drawing fire even from DDs, thus making them reveal them selves. And by drawing fire you are keeping your team safe. You are also creating oportunitys for your team to get juicy hits on the enemy. When trying to shoot you they tend to forget them selves and show broadside. Screening for torps is not the DDs job. If you eat torps you misplayed and that is on you. There are DDs that play differently. But I find that random teams are to unreliable. Some DDs need smoke to shoot (ducky-line, US etc) then you are relying on your team to spot or you and they are useless (no targets). Torpedo DDs can play the flanks just like the Russians or the French. But torpedo damage is unreliable at best. And spotting is useless if your team cant hit a planet, or just want to farm the BB in the back. Its less frustrating to play run and gun type ships and doing 100k damage in just about every game. Caps are not won by sneaking in and capturing. They are won by winning the fight for them, by driving the enemy away or sinking them.

    Adapt and overcome. If you have a certain team composition you have to play accordingly. It is a missconseption that DDs have to play a certain way. You should always be exploiting opportunities, in different games they will vary.

    Mirror MM would make more sense. Then again this will probably make for a great laugh anyway. I will play through it in an IFHE specked Kidd just for fun.

    Yes Im having a horrible time trying to carry in t10. And it makes little sence since Im doing fine in t8 and 9. It should be the same MM mostly. Smolensk is part of the problem. Or might be the catalyst. Yesterday almost all t10 games had atleast 4 DDs and 2 Smolensks on each side. DDs counter DDs and in a gunboat Smolensk is hard to deal with. (16 guns vs 6-8).

    Well there is the thing with counterplay, or rather the lack of counterplay. In most cases an argument to git gud can be made. I have learned to live with CVs (most are useless). I have learned to "just dodge". But I have also had to accept that if the CV-player is good I have no chance of doing anything or I will die. And Im currently winning 75% of my games at tier 8 and 9. CVs are stupid in this game. But what drives me to report them more then any other class is that my teams CV will ignore easy low health targets so they can heal up and make a come back later. That they will ignore capping ships instead of resetting them, or go after a capping DD with torpedo bombers. They have such great potential and so often its wasted. Shutting me down will net you a compliment.

    Why are DD's so poor these days.

    Gunboating in the open has the benefit of spotting, doing damage and tanking. You will often get DDs to reveal themselves as they join the crowd to shoot you while you are zipping about. Its still solo hunting in a way, but beneficial to all.

    I did it in 2 games in a row. You can only get the achivement once though. Trick is to torp while the ship is behind the island, then pray that it runs into them.

    Jupp, I have removed all AA modules even from Kidd. Its annoing how much coal I have to spend to buy engine boost modules to ships that didnt need them before. Btw do you think Enterprise just joined the elusive Belfast, Kaze, Gioulio etc club?

    You have already gotten some nice tips. As people have been saying: Gremy, Kaze-sisters, Belfast, Gioulio etc were really strong ships that were pulled from sales for different ("balance") reasons. I think Enterprice just joined them. Ships that are still being sold that I see as strong are Asashio, Cossak, Kidd and Le Terrible. (I only play DDs so I will not comment on others) I think they might be a bit overbuffed for various reasons. One being t8 MM. People (and CCs) have been whining about t8 ships being sucked into t10 matched to much for a long time. WG forced the playerbase to move to t10 (rewards etc) now this is where most games are played compared to any one tier. Resulting in t8:s getting more t10 (being low tier) games then not. This is no longer the case, and since then you can really feel the powerlevel vs t6 and 7 ships. T8:s were overtuned to be useful against t10s, now they are a bit to strong vs t6 and 7:s. Another reason is that they were new concepts. As such they were not played to their full potential when they were being balanced. Other reasons were ship specific. Asashio was/is being played wrongly (badly). Its to strong now by being the counter to BBs that happen to be the most prevalent/popular class. When BB-numbers go down its power-level also recedes. It is also widely considered to be food for other DDs. It can be, but you can often use it to your advantage by lureing them towards your team-mates. When kiting it is slender and low in the water. Its also protected by the two turrets in the back so it can be suprisingly durable to dd-fire. Cossak was doing really badly in testing, Flamu named it Ballsack for a reason. Only 4 torps were being frowned upon badly. As were the bad fireing angles. The results were insane consealment (was nerfed from 5.1 to 5.5km), insane firepower (8 guns on a t8 DD) and just after release they buffed the torpedo reload to about a minute. Thus giving it almost the same torpedo DPM as DDs with 2 launchers. (Someone will probably fill in the numbers). It is a master of ambushing DDs and withering down larger targets with a constant stream of torps and great firestarting guns. Survivability is great with consealment, lots of smokes, great agility and speedboost (that the silver line doesnt have).The silver counterpart (Lightning) is however really strong to. Kidd was also getting bad reviews as one torp launcher with 9.2km slow torps was found lacking. The mega AA it had/has was seldom being used. The fact that it is a Fletcher (t9) with great gunpower was overlooked and they gave it heal... Now it has stayingpower for years and is really nice for hunting DDs. Le Terrible was probably horrible at first, the memes were plentiful. It was however buffed and buffed and buffed. Now its stronger then its silver counterpart with a second better reload on the guns and torps that are just as good. The breakingpoint being the improved ballistics on the guns. Had they given it that earlier in testning, then all the other buffs would have been surplus.

    Play ships that do not require team support if you play solo. And t10 is probably the hardest to have influence over as a solo player. The general powerlevel of t10 ships meen that they can delete people that make mistakes. So even If you play well you can not stop your team-mates from being sent back to port by overextending and/or showing broadside. Back down a few tiers and see what happens. For me it worked well. 90% of my games are solo and Im doing fine at t7-9.

    I just played my first game. Is it supposed to look like that? To me it seems like all the enemy lost their stars. Could it be that they are on irrevocable stages? Or is it bugged? Or am I just stupid :)
