Night Battle Mode Mechanics
So with operation Cherry Blossom, I've been thinking.... about mechanics for Night Battle in PVP. So the below are my proposal for night battle mechanics.
Both sides start out at evening and around 5 mins the game will enter night mode.
All teammates will have UI displayed. While enemies are NOT UI displayed.(We can discuss about how the HP bar will be displayed. Maybe in the alternate Tab screen?) but will show up once they enter detection range. You will not be able to lock on to them yet you can still shoot at them. Lock on is enabled when that ship enters 5km of yr radius. Radar and Hydro reveals locations and enables lock on. Planes spotting does not enable lock on.
Searchlight feature. Player will be able to point the search light at any direction by holding a certain key and enabling searchlights.Any ship within search light range is enable to lock on. However the ship that toggles searchlight is also revealed to enemy and available to lock on. (Search Light Radius and duration will be balancing issue) When AA is in effect the ship at maximum range, the effect will be decreased. toggling searchlight would return it to normal effect but enables you for lock on targeting. Planes will also have a slightly larger dispersion when dropping their payloads in Night mode. (did World War 2 planes have equipment to illuminate their surroundings for better vision?)
the idea should be a balance environment for all ship types
Naturally torps would have no prediction line until you are at least 5km for the assured lock on. So one would have to drop torps based on self prediction.
The rest of the mechanics ill just assume it looks like a Thunderstorm/cyclone mode?
