I had 3 choices of names from the beginning.. My name now and "Hellbian Noobspawn".... Was also toying with Tiz A Fuggly Skunk but wasn't sure the bosses would like it.

Sry post glitched.

I was in one game where the enemy was telling my team how bad they were.. In that game a FDGrosse continually fires HE into the broadside of a Bismarck doing negligible damage and the Bismarck sinks Grosse in 3 salvos.. A Shimakaze with 4k hp decides instead of retreating to attack again it fires its guns on a Gearing at 8km... Our CV decided to go to A1 and sit there with his planes attacking a Minotaur and Roon.. He was then torpedoed by the Gearing... CV's charging headlong towards oncoming enemy BB's ignoring those left alive desperately telling him to stop... DD's that attack other DD's with less than 4k hp instead of going dark and retreating... DD's that camp in their smoke in a cap..you know full well what is coming and they ignore you when you tell them not to stop.. And yes players from opposing teams do have conversations about such players in all chat..

Request to wargaming for cv rework captain respec.
Migantium_Mashum replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
I have almost 80 ships so here's an idea, why doesn't WG automatically reset every Captain in your port with the update and follow with a 4 week zero fee for reset? That way people with 200+ ships will only need to decide a build and fine tune over 4 weeks as the new play style unfolds without cost if they decide to reset again within the 4 weeks... after 4 weeks everyone will know how things pan out.. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Took out my Richelieu for a spin... game wasn't going well by 11 minutes out.. stupid suicide brigades.. So with a Baltimore and Leander as support it was game on full attack.. we took out 5 ships out in 3 minutes, 3 to me and 2 to Leander who bagged the Gneisenhau giving a pressured New Mexico chance to turn and come to our aid, by this time I am down to 4k hp and no heals left, New Mexico quickly took out the 3 ships chasing him after I took 32k off a closing Normandie in 1 salvo .. of all the times to forget my Bandicam or else this would have been uploaded.. Finished top of the board with my consorts Baltimore 2, New Mexico 3 and Leander 5.. loads of + Karma..Feel the love. -

Absolutely agree. This rework is the biggest change I have seen since beginning in 2016... it will give people the opportunity free from expense to see if they can adapt to these changes or whether they want to leave the game. I also believe that as this rework hits the game entirely I think the people who have spent money on premium ships should be given a 50% refund of their expenditure if they choose to delete their accounts.. WG may not be changing the specifications of a premium ship (Excluding CV) but they are changing the game structure in which that ship is being played and not everyone will like it.. -
Chose resources, got a super container and in mine was the Indianapolis. Would have preferred coal as I am not a Cruiser man..but a ship is a ship.

Can you post a screenshot of your Modules, upgrades, setup and commander skills? If you are using a Captain with less than 10 points your will not have CE (Concealment expert) which equates to losing 10% concealment values. Replays would also be good because if people in this forum can see your playstyle they can offer support, which you can choose to adopt or ignore, there is no pressure. DD's can be lethal in any game but with the lowest HP in the game they also have to be certain of a move more than any other ship... Always, always have the escape route in hand before you go in to any situation, always watch the mini map for it will keep you alive if you do and always be aware of your concealment value.. Stay beyond that value and you cannot be detected. As you do progress, and you will, learn enemy radar and Hydro capabilities by heart... there is no escape from it. From experience I can tell you that learning good DD play can be hard, more so if you don't listen to advice given, but once you've cracked the requirements of the DD the games are immensely fun and rewarding. -
IJN Torpedoes are still way too detectable.

Your comment makes sense so I cannot knock it, however it's down to the individual game.. If the team is on the ball a spotted Radar Cruiser is slaughtered by the big boys (BB's) or chased away so that is is not effective. If the team isn't on the ball then having 12km or 8km torpedoes means nothing because once radar lights up the torpedoes are there for all to see the only difference is that 8km are faster.. I can cap, I always spot, I hunt but if the team refuses to kill Radar Cruisers chances are the DD's in the team are picked off one by one eventually... As a Shimakaze player I know within 6 minutes if the team is working together or not... if not I do what I can to secure caps, spot and kill as many ships as i can... it is the job of a DD after all. But, I am almost never detected by radar or Hydro and if I am I already know where my escape route is..... Also, if the enemy ship is retreating it poses no threat does it? -

That is 100% true but as 12km torpedoes are slower by 9 knots at 67 knots I find they are easier to avoid and it is the speed that makes 8km torpedoes in my opinion more successful in obtaining the kill shot... At 12km yes you can fire close but you have lost the speed... You want to see what happens when I use the 6.4km @ 81 knots... nothing escapes not even DD's. -

Already do that... and how was he speaking sense when he was deliberately misquoting my comments.. you best mates with him or something? If you don't already know, because radar goes through everything, the ship with radar has a 360 degree detection zone to the range of their radar..so radar covers everything... -

Have you maximum concealment at 5.6km? Why are you running 12km torpedoes, could you not use the faster 8km @ 76 knots or even the 6.4km @ 81 knots? If you're firing at distance then it is little wonder your torpedoes are detected, a plane, another ship and everyone knows they are coming.... you have to get in close to be effective in Shimakaze and fire between 6.5km and 7km from the target..that way you guarantee the target will eat your Torpedo Soup, may well even give him indigestion. If you cannot attack the low concealment of Shimakaze means you can spot and to a team knowing where the enemy ships are is a priceless advantage... remember to learn the radar capabilities/hydro detection ranges of your opponents and you will never be detected by them. AND always have the escape route planned just in case you need it.. if you have to run watch your stern and change course as soon as the enemy fires looking at your mini map so as not to run into islands and become beached. -

@BrusilovX still didn't say there was a Radar ship in the cap, I was talking about spotting. Didn't even speak about Radar Cruisers in caps. You're clutching at straws. You have 11 other ships to spot also remember so they can pick up radar ships from their LOS. -

edited You spot radar cruisers because they come into your line of sight and In a team of 12 players radar Cruiser get spotted by other players too, I said, if you care to read my posts again, you remember where they are as a DD player and perma spot F3 if it is safe to do so at distances sufficient to avoid their radar if they activate it.... For me that means, American Cruisers stay beyond 11km of them, Russian Cruisers stay beyond 12.5km of them, British Cruisers stay beyond 10.5km of them..... you spot them safely and hope the team kills them but they remain spotted thus preventing DD allies getting surprised and blapped.. edited ---------------------------------------- Anyway wasn't it the OP who was complaining? Didn't the OP say he couldn't get close to a GK without being shredded.. 6km Hydro and he couldn't manage...wasn't it the OP complaining about torpedoes? ----------------------------------------- @BrusilovX of course your bored with my post... -

Okay, here we go...just for you because you're special. The games starts and as a DD you head to a cap zone.. Always watching the mini map as you go.. you approach a cap always watching the cap icon because if it goes red the enemy has got there first. The minute an enemy ship is highlighted it triggers the part of your brain, if correctly wired, that allows you to remember where the ship is and more importantly which way it is heading.. If it is a radar ship you then put your crosshair on it press F3 and stay out if it's range.. Obviously as a Beta Tester you already know the range of radar don't you? Do you know something it sounds like I am giving lessons to a child... When you play a DD you play smart, stay away from radar cruisers but perma spot them if you can until they are deleted, don't worry about DD guns unless you're absolutely sure you can do it safely, cap if the enemy isn't there, use your concealment to its max always remembering enemy radar or hydro ranges, torpedo and always have the route of escape before you do anything.. and you don't complain about torpedoes.. and if that is impossible you spot. -

You are correct, you win a cookie. I started DD's and my performance was disastrous.. WR was well below 40% for all... I clearly stated how bad I was in a previous post... I now have individual WR on my DD's from 46-58% in the ships I play and they are climbing.. But remember this it is the OP who is complaining and not me and I do know how to avoid being shredded by the GK... When you start badly it takes time to improve a bad WR...so is there anything else you want to snipe me for?? Asashio 64%, Chung Mu 60%, Hatsaharu 80%, Shiratsuyu 56%, Benson 59%, Z-39 58%, Kagero 57%, Cossack 52%, AsashioB 50%, Gadja mada 50%, Yeuyang 49% and so on... individual scores like... Shima and gearing 47%... all going up and we are talking DD play. -

Listen carefully, when I first started DD's I played like a complete [edited].. I never took advice.. I messed up more games than I can count and the guys on this forum did not spare me... Nowadays. I rarely mess up and get some amazing games.. If you want to learn then people with experience will help you..if you want to whine please leave the room have a good cry and play something else. I had worse than you're getting and got better because of it. -

Can you just imagine the reaction from the enemy when 30 torpedoes come streaking through? Even at 20km it would take some avoiding.. Imagine me with 8km torps firing 30 into their flanks.. oh the joy, oh the kills, oh the damage farm would overflow... it is the stuff dreams are made of... Mashum..calm down lad there's a good chap.. But, yes WG for 24 hours will you give Shimakaze an extra slot with TRB? Pretty please....
