Are you still enjoying the game or you are going to uninstall?
Migantium_Mashum replied to Jean_Bart's topic in Archive
When people with only 1,000 battles comment on players with battle totals 9 times their number.. -
Take Google Translate with you around the other forums...the discontent isn't just on the English one and you must be young because i don't know any game where you pay to be the Guinea Pig or buy incomplete unfinished works. Numbers are down, revenue has to have taken a hit because WG panders to 10% of the game population and pisses off the other 90%... you've only played 1,027 battles so obviously you'll know everything...won't you? If you enjoy World of Warplanes you should stay there.
-
The biggest con job going was the pre rework cheap premium time...it's as if WG KNEW the crap storm that the rework was going to bring in advance and just wanted to grab as much cash as possible..
-
Yeah, I remember TFX, Red baron, Combat Flight Simulator, Iron Cross and all played with my Predator Joystick.. nowadays the Children want the boom boom without the effort..IMHO pointless gaming..bit like the new CV controls...
-
When I last played, it was ranked only and even then it became a nightmare when other DD players seemed to think they had to capture the drop zones without thought of safety or team support. Only ever used Coop to grind snowflakes... random was a nightmare after 8.0 and it really put me off the game.. Player numbers are lower now than I have seen before, when I log in on my ghost account the number are down by almost 1/3rd. Everyone going on about player numbers over the year forget the rework is the only crucial date point of note and seeing servers at peak time between 16,000-24,000 says that something is not right.. Friday night premium time not even 24,000 players online. Only 10% played them so how many of the 90% had a problem with the old RTS style CV? I didn't because if you faced a good one it was a hell of a game...
-
Exactly, and the 90% are the ones to suffer... it took a good player to be a good RTS CV captain and the lazy ones who couldn't be bothered to learn cried foul the loudest... maybe one of the little children who wanted an easier playing CV was a WG employees child... "Dad, Dad!!! it's not fair...it's too hard.".............................."It's alright son, Daddy will fix it for you..look it's even on console now for you." Same as, haven't played since my premium expired...rework +2... made a poll myself about closing wallets... just over 100 people voted and I think only 13% were happy to carry on spending money..but it was deemed insufficient as evidence of discontent.. still out of the 100+ voting not many said they would carry on spending. This rework for a mere 10% of the gaming population has backfired and cost WG heavily hence the CV players now whining about the changes since the hotfixes which have been so quickly rolled out...funny that given how they laughed after 8.0 came live.....and as a lot of people anticipated WOWs has made its first tentative steps to console version... .... Faeces wrapped in a velvet blanket is still faeces....

CV- We are in for a world of hurt

The old minority Whiner RTS CV's who couldn't be bothered to learn how to play their ship cried and cried so WG went away and came back with 8.0... went down like a lead balloon didn't it? Now, there's a shocker for you.... The old majority, DD's -Cruisers-BB's, even before the release of 8.0 said many times how bad the rework would be...and it was bad wasn't it even amongst seasoned CV players they just hated the fact that all they could do was play World of Warplanes.. No more support for the fleet..just rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. In the new game ships sat huddled in groups just damage stats for the new CV's..DD's either didn't play or were a castrated version of themselves..refer IChase and the flying Shima....according to the majority on every server in many languages they hated the rework so they deserted in droves or stopped spending. No big surprise on that score either... Established clans became mere ghosts of their former selves as people stopped playing... stopped playing and stopped spending... So obviously WG revenue takes a nose dive, they won't admit it though, so of course WG have to tweak the balance of the new CV for the benefit of the majority...not the minority...and to save from further income loss... now the whining CV's are back crying foul..the biggest foul was the rework..now you lazy CV players will do what everyone else had to do to get a good game.. Learn how to play... No more zoom, zoom, bang, bang... No more perma spotting...no more easy kills, you're going to have to work for it just like the good old RTS CVs did.. and they did... Wanna play arcade style buy an XBOX game.. This game might now actually be worth coming back to, who knows. -
Player Numbers. How much are they actually down?

With RTS CV mode it was not a one sided coin... now as a DD the reworked CV can kill you with impunity within 6 minutes and so you're forced to "Clump" with your consorts.. what sort of boring crap is that? The DD was the littler Terrier of the battle, he spots, he caps, he smokes and he attacks..... now the DD has been Castrated. In RTS mode the DD when spotted could evade/retreat, go dark and re-evaluate position and tactics..I used to withdraw and head for the nearest AA Cruiser. A good DD always watched the progress of enemy CV aircraft. A good DD player knowing his torps could be spotted would not fire and waste an opportunity so right there the RTS CV curtails the DD without doing a thing. A good DD knowing his AA def needed to be in the off position ensured it was off thus saving the CV from losing aircraft and if attacked the DD jigged to avoid the bombs and changed course or speed to avoid torpedoes with AA switched on.. wasn't that fun... was for me because I rarely took damage unless a good CV was able to cross torp.. Ultimately, after each attack, unless the CV wanted to continue to spot me, the attacking planes withdrew to rearm.. The DD then changes course and licks his wounds... and comes back. The challenge for the good RTS CV is still there...and if the RTS CV gets his DD then from me it was "Well Played" especially if the CV was good enough to cross torp you.. In RTS mode as a DD main the allied CV actively deterred the enemy aircraft from attacking.. put a fighter group in the path of bombers then only a stupid adversary pushes the attack. A good allied CV also ensured cap zones were free so that a DD could take them...only the idiots had their fighters chewed because they ignored the fact that to over extend invited destruction.....and I fear it is the cries of the idiots about the skills gap who pushed WG to this. The skills gap was there because the lower skilled CV players couldn't be bothered to learn.. it was the same with every class.. As a DD main I took a long time to learn that but when the penny dropped I was lethal.. now all that effort is for nothing.. WG should release a new Camo... Reworked CV's aren't CV's they're just aircraft squadrons based on a ship that can only attack, they cannot defend the team...how boring is that (Unless you're 10 years old)? -

If the reworked CV was more involved with the team I don't think people would be so against the rework.. But they're not. To play a CV now, you are a flight Commander not ship Commander. Your abilities to control the reworked ship (CV) amount to almost zero and even your damage control is basic and controlled automatically.. So basically all CV players in the reworked version are player World of Warplanes... aren't they? Just that they launch from a flight deck not airfield. If the reworked CV could actively counter enemy aircraft with fighters I don't think people would be against the rework. All you can do is drop fighters and most of the time the enemy has come and gone before the BOT realises that they need to attack. In the RTS version fighters could chase down, harass and bottle up the enemy CV, could attack the bombers and fighters whilst still spotting. For the RTS CV map awareness was the key and this meant DD's could do what DD's have always done. Teams wouldn't be clumped together, players wouldn't be bored. In the RTS CV a good player had full sway which was how it should be, take the time to learn get the rewards and that was only a problem for players because too many RTS CV players out there were wanting all the glory for no effort...the effort came from learning how to play the CV.... the CV Lazies didn't want to do what the skilled CV players had done... But, as the minority screamed foul the loudest everyone suffers... and we still suffer. -

Why did WG release an unfinished product? Why do they expect the play base to pay for it (Unfinished)? You wouldn't by an unfinished book, would you? You wouldn't go down your local Supermarket and buy an unfinished pie, would you? You wouldn't go into Game to buy an unfinished Xbox game, would you? You wouldn't go into Sports Direct to buy unfinished Trainers, would you? You wouldn't pay your builder for an unfinished wall, would you? @ColonelPeteIn saying that it is unfinished you have just validated the arguement of myself and every other player on every server in all languages screaming foul... for that you have my thanks. -

According to WoWs everything is fine and Dandy... since the rework after the CV hype player numbers at prime time are around 16,000 to 22,700... at least they are when I log in anyway... pretty sure they used to be around 28,000-34,000 at prime time.. may be prime time has moved to another location. Shame WG don't post the revenue chart...that might make for uncomfortable reading. -

@Akula971 It's the old greed disease rearing its ugly head, grab a quick buck now be damned to the future... WG, the revenue from the children you now target, it must be children for your arcade version can only appeal to them, will not last long... Your long term player base, the ones who spend money regularly, are thoroughly pissed off with what you have done.. Your claim that this rework is a great idea has backfired badly on how many different servers? How many threads in how many different languages does it take to convince WG they have really messed up. None because the people of WG are deaf to all but the clowns in their secluded world. I see the EU server with less than 19,000 players at prime time... you can argue 19,000 is a good number but how many of them are actually spending money? WG will not release revenue charts but you can bet they've taken a hit on this... don't think you'll dip your pockets to make up the losses to be honest. WG you may continue, as MrConway stated, making grandiose decisions about the game without consideration to paying players, who I may add you need to cover the costs of this game... you may force premium paying players to suffer this rework, hot fixes, hot patches, which I may add is strange because I know of no other game that charges you to be a Guinea Pig.... but ultimately at the end despite the big numbers you will not get any revenue long term because people have closed their wallets and no longer recommend the game to new players.. I came to this game because it was recommended, I learned the hard way through every change that came along and became a better player... with the CV rework everything I did amounts to nought... and that is exactly the sum WG is currently getting from me... I purchased premium time, ships, crates, gifts etc etc etc and over the 2 years and 3 months played before the rework I did it regularly... Now you get nothing and I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. -

I looked in last night to see server the numbers over a half hour period.. Normally numbers for Saturday prime time would be 25,000+. Every time I have looked in previously the numbers are below the norm.. could be just bad timing but to me these are low. -

Don't want this game to die WG...

I asked the same question slightly differently worded... ----------------------------------------------------------- Given the reactions from this forum along with the anger from the other forums in other languages: "Do you, MrConway think the release of an unfinished rework on to a server where players pay real money to play was very clever?" ---------------------- Mr reply from MrConway was: I don't know what my personal opinion matters in any kind of context, but I do think that it was absolutely necessary to release it to the live server - yes. ---------------------- Then he locked the topic.. Guess the people of WG land are now totally out of touch with the players...all to the detriment of the game. 21 Minutes later, down 1200 players... 6 minutes later and don't anyone say this is normal... -

Just had a look online... Server numbers are really down now... I mean this is Saturday night prime time... Saturday nights were always 27k + sometimes as high as 34k. Is the game heading for the.. I have never in nearly 3 years of playing witnessed numbers this low.... Anybody think WG make a few serious mistakes? -

Well let's hope they enjoy unemployment... can you imagine when WG collapses that a new employer will look kindly on individuals who killed a game... If I was in the game industry WG staff would be fit only for coffee making duties... -

Seems to make a great deal of sense to other players. If you struggle with translation use Google Translate as I did when I went through the other forums... I am not alone in this assumption so we are all wrong then yes? How do you obtain the information to make the decisions for the evolution of the game? It can't be from the testers or players can it. Given the reactions from this forum along with the anger from the other forums in other languages: "Do you, MrConway think the release of an unfinished rework on to a server where players pay real money to play was very clever?" I have asked you numerous questions try answering those first before I address any more. Server numbers are down and I bet WG revenue has taken a hit also.. you haven't got long if you've any time at all to save the game... denial of the problem usually leads to the death of an organisation. You fancy being out of work? I used to play 4-6 hours daily and I would buy premium time, ships, crates, doubloons and gifts... Now I play zero hours daily and spend nothing.. Well done. -

I don't think WG want to save the game... there is something we are not thinking about. There are more children with consoles than people with PC's and that's where the new money is. What 10 year old, used to Call of Duty, Heroes and generals, is going to give a toss about team play when he can zoom around maps at 500 miles per hour firing rockets, torpedoes or dropping bombs... and do the same thing again within 60 seconds.. I mean WG wanted CV's and by their level of control after the rework they certainly don't value the intelligence or competence of the player do they... The fact that the child is playing against bots because the real opponents gave up the game months before will bother him not one bit. On his birthday or at Christmas he and WG knows that someone will buy him the latest ship and when he gets too old WG roll down to the next 10 year old.. after milking the child for a few years.. The minute the rework came into play the death nell sounded for what was once a great game.. You look at server numbers and they are in the toilet and you can bet that many players have stopped spending too.. The move by WG is too deliberate to be by chance alone and they are noticeable in their absence.. I have asked @MrConwayon numerous occasions to answer questions I have put or answer comments put in forum by other players..all I see is a wall of silence unless he is advertising some garbage coming out to which he expects pissed off players to put their money... This game is now and I regret every joining it or spending any money on it. Very soon WG your servers will become echoes of what they once were when this game WAS great... you must be very proud and soon hopefully very broke. -

My premium ended 3 days after the update and then I won 2 days more..seriously, it was enough to make me decide to this game right off in its present format... I pity all the people who were charmed by the cut priced premium offers before the rework.. they paid premium times, admittedly at reduced rates, for an unfinished product.. and WG still expects people to spend more money on premium ships that either don't work or will be nerfed 6 months down the line anyway... A bit like a shop advertising 50% off the price of a Jigsaw and so, you buy it, you go home, you open the box to find 50% of the Jigsaw is missing.... @MrConway I ask again are you taking notice of player reactions? -
