It is so you have to use your brain and remember the ranges of radar of each of the radar equipped enemy ships you face... Hardly rocket science.

As a DD main I have to know the radar ranges of my enemy. I always assume USA 10km max.. Russian 12km max..UK 10km.... I then work out each ship from memory staying out range until I do... Wouldn't it be boring if every ship had the same radar range?

When I recorded screenshots, when I could be bothered to try and show WG by numbers their creation was a disaster.. I did this over a period of 3 week post 8.0 and usually at what would be considered peak time.. maybe 3 weeks wasn't enough then... I consider weekends as prime time and evenings between 6pm-10pm GMC.. Whenever I play now, I have not seen player number higher than the 22,000 mark.. on average I have recorded 19,000 on the days I play. As I said before perhaps this is why WG no longer give player numbers on your main page in port...who knows. You can take whatever opinion you wish but as someone who has played this game for almost 3 years... numbers are down and you can bet revenue will be down too.. I personally still refuse to buy anything.

Yeah, like I didn't back it up with screenshots....which strangely enough were archived pretty quickly... On one stint took over 6 hours showing how low numbers had dropped... So, if the screenshots I took have no credibility then neither do WG for it's there numbers..

Which was exactly the same as what they said for 8.0... Like I said before WG wiped out 1/3rd of their player base with the 8.0 launch..the uproar was quickly silenced though with posts being closed or archived.. How quickly my posts about server numbers with attached screenshots were archived... Now the numbers show it has cost them players and money... SO too late they are trying to remedy and bring people back... In the games I have played recently 21,000 was the highest number of players I have ever seen and at prime time too... Previously 33,000 was the highest I ever saw pre 8.0.. was this the reason that WG removed the player numbers from the main page when you're on Port?

Isn't it amazing..when DD mains complained about the rework you were in their faces... now the boot is on the other foot you cry and stamp your feet... Dig up your replies to my complaints and apply them to yourself... how I chuckle.

As a DD main myself..as long as you contribute to the actions of your team and play sensibly being bottom doesn't mean you haven't been vital to the win... Spotting an enemy ship or enemy team so that it can be sunk, even though you may not even fire, is the reason DD's are vital. Be happy if your team won because your eyes made it possible.. I had a game where I got behind the enemy highlighting every ship they had... the enemy ships were systematically picked off and sunk.. It was only when the last BB was left that I managed to get some damage in, 18k if I remember rightly, and at the end of the game I got a well done with +6 to my Karma..

I had the very same for a while when I first started to play... you see there are some players who because they have nothing in the outside world, they are nothing in the outside world; they rage, they cuss, they throw insults, they may even spill their coffee, all at you in game, all from their bedroom, that Mummy tidies for them, or the cellar they inhabit because light on their skin is too much; because they feel that their internet kingly status ( Unicorn or Unicum..whatever) is at risk because perhaps you're not as good a player as they think they are.. you know what I did? Nothing. Enjoy your game. But, I will tell you this, if the abuse gets really personal or insulting screenshot the abuse or insults and forward to WG... a few days ban might allow them to detox a little and return to the civilised.

I started at rank 15 and went through to 14 happily enough..to start with all the victories in games with no rentals on my team... so ready to get to 13, 1 single victory required, then like seriously, 2 rental, 4 rental, 3 rental...every damn game with more than a single rental went retarded fast... so I am back to 15 with no victory stars... that's where I stay... got the 5% flag... Tier X is supposed to be the top, the very best... if you've got some Tier V clown with a purchased Tier VIII they get access to a Tier X game they cannot play... What's the point of playing a Tier X game anymore? Now, you could argue that we lose because of something I did.. but in every game I had great scores... and I am not alone in my discontent.. Sucks the very life out of the games... so why play ranked any more? @MrConway yet another of WG's stupid ideas...

Sorry meant Tier 8...lolz... blame the Carlsberg. They play like they're Tier 5.. edit: A new player say with only a few hundred games under their belt can buy a Tier 8 premium straight off the bat qualify for the rentals....yes?

Oh you mean the great rental where any Tier 5 can play a game they are totally unsuited for... yeah I thought well done WG too... shhhh here's a secret.. they won't admit it but they're getting desperate... Why else would WG pollute Tier 10 ranked battles.... and they wonder why they lose players...

I actually see the OPs point. If you train/learn to drive a Car and then decide to ride a Motorbike later you are still able to return to the car at a later date without retraining.. If you train to be an accountant and then decide to become a solicitor you are still a trained accountant.... His point is valid.

Before my break from this game server numbers were shown on the main screen in port and now they are removed. I am sure someone previously mentioned in a post that they can be shown via settings and yet I am at a loss. How do you actually find out the server numbers when in port?

I think that WG wants to kill the PC version to move the game 100% to console. There is absolutely no business sense in the decisions they have made since February 2019. How many paying players have been lost and how much have their receipts dropped will never be known because I think they dare not show how their coffers have been impacted. The latest stunt putting Rental Ships in ranked is surely desperate to say the very least.. it takes the very essence out of ranked games. When I first started this game I could not play ranked because I had not advanced far enough so wanting to play ranked I ground my way through to be in a position to play the next ranked series.. Now you can be no further along than Tier 5 and you have access to T10 games via rental ships... So what about the guys who have made their way to T10 the hard way only to find the ranked game polluted by players with no idea or experience.. Doesn't make for entertaining games and certainly doesn't give great advertising for the game... Conclusion: WG want the game to die...no other conclusion can be reached.

I have stopped playing rank battles completely. It is a T10 ranked event with rentals which means any idiot can play it.... you have rentals playing who do not know wtf they are doing and this is okay for WG... 10 ranked games played of which 9 had multiple rentals..in every game rentals featured the game was lost because they do not know wtf they are doing... I have had 1 victory from 10 games played and in that single victory game there were no rentals in my team.. started rank 14 cannot get out of 15... Last night I played 2 games in ranked in the 1st game a Yamato and Montana rental ruined the game... Montana went YOLO suicide and Yamato just hid behind an island for almost the whole game... In the second game was a Conqueror and Yamato and surprise surprise they played like total .... Whoever decides this seriously needs to sort their brains out because something isn't working.... it's like giving a kid who drives Go Karts access to F1 formula racing Cars and expecting the kid not to trash it and win the race...

I noticed after returning to the game after 60 days that the server numbers are no longer displayed.. If you don't see the numbers it can be claimed the game is as popular as ever...
