The LM for the Gearing was the only one I really thought any good. It brings your concealment down to the level of Shimakaze @ 5.6km... Nice if it was linked to faster torpedoes too but you can't have everything... 0.2km extra concealment may seem small but it really does make all the difference if opposing IJN 8-10 line DD's... The LM for the Shimakaze is just a waste of time...

Got to rank 10 then stopped there... games lost for no reason.. players... well let's just say rank 10 was enough.

I usually type at the beginning... you want live DD's who can respond to F7.. kill the enemy radar... if you don't want live DD's defeat must suit you fine....

and if the team is switched on F3 ( for example DM or Moskva) works a treat....

Why avoid? Stay out of range and fire torpedoes... gives them a nasty surprise sometimes... Most DD's have a torpedo range available greater than radar ranges...

As a DD main radar is fine. So it sees through islands, if you're behind the island who can hit you? If you're smack in the enemy formation with a radar ship close it's YOU that is the problem. You just have to take the time to learn the capabilities of your foes and play accordingly.... If you cannot be bothered to learn nobody here is going to help you...

Absolutely nothing since 8.0..not even premium time. Before, premium time each month, Scharnhorst, Tirpitz, Missouri (Via Doubloons for conversion I think), Asashio twins, Z-39, Santa Gifts to my Clan mates, elite premium camo for my Gearing, Shima, FDG, GK, doubloons at other times... that's about it.

For anyone going for the Twilight missions and struggling. Global chat at the start agree NOT to target live players. Kill your bots, only the bots, collect your 'filth' and leave by the portal before the clock ticks below 5 minutes and 15 seconds. If you wait later than that your chances of escape are virtually nil as the servants literally swarm you... You should collect no less than 1,200 filth, if all of your team survive and get out alive with it all. XP even for standard account holders is pretty decent to be fair (With no flags)

Can anyone help me out with something... My clan mate has the three gift ships (Yammy, Groz and Hinden) yet even though he puts a captain on them he cannot play ranked battles.. Just tried myself and he is right.. I have never used the freebies before so what has he missed, what have I missed?

I have had a single game this morning at 0328 GMT... I was allied with a Gearing and Shimakaze, I was in my Gearing also. The first thing I noticed was that my allied Gearing stayed behind the BB's so had absolutely no spotting value whatsoever.. he then went charging on up the 7-10 lines to take on a Smolensk and enemy Des Moines alone.. guess the result. The allied Shimakaze joined my move north and I was amazed to see him firing at enemy ships 14-18km away.. so you need not have a hard work out to figure the torpedoes he had.. After firing the torpedoes, with no enemy in sight, he turns and heads back to one of two Grosser Kurfursts leaving me totally alone. Shimakaze and the Kurfurst were both killed by Smolensk and Des Moines... I took a cap, I sank an enemy Shimakaze, I kept the remaining enemy team spotted for the rest of the game repeatedly hitting F3 for the enemy Des Moines (Ignored for the whole game) At least one of the Grosser Kurfurst and a Montana had an idea of what to do so between them they picked off two of the enemy BB's... As we had two cap zones to the enemies one we won by points... I don't know whether we won because the enemy team were worse than the team I was in or what...

@NothingButTheRain I came into Twilight late after originally seeing it as just another boring mission but I too shall be waiting for its return... managed to get both the Tier 8 and Tier 9 Permanent Camo but there was not enough time left for me, because I started late, to get the Tier 10... Most of my work was done in my Tier 9 BB... Maverick.

I agree.. shame Twilight couldn't be left permanently.

Again, your opinion is respected. I did say 1,200 filth in my original description... so that makes it less than the 1,715 you quoted. Even with a 3 DD team you should make that total easily as collectively they can carry 1,500. The point I was trying to make was that with an agreed truce nobody leaves empty handed... But, if someone wants a fight they'll get one. It was agreed that if someone ignored the truce and was sunk his companions took his filth unless too far away to collect. I have managed to get through the 500 and 2,000 reward lines sometimes collecting, as a team, less than 1,200 but that is usually when a team member decides to ignore the truce or play like a moron. In the majority of games played, BB usually, I managed a full 1,000 quota and in almost all games the truce was honoured... Once an enemy team saw you did not fire on them, I had opportunity to sink a Cruiser on 2k hp right in front of me and stayed my guns, things go easily. In one game I even helped an enemy team to kill Rasputin and was invited to take some filth as a thank you.
