Don't they already? I mean it seems anyone can buy into Tier X these days.... Played Randoms recently?

1) If you think the enemy who has RL is a DD look at your concealment and work out the Maximum concealment an enemy DD could have... if their concealment is better retreat because it is better to withdraw and be able to return.. 2) Have your escape route ready and mapped out in you mind.. If detected/spotted DO NOT TURN TO FLEE.. immediately smoke, stop engines reverse and turn out of the smoke to escape rather than in full view... Use the edges of the smoke opposite to escape as more likely than not torpedoes are coming to your location.. a moving target has a greater chance of escaping. 3) Cruisers carry RL too but they are well spotted before you're in any danger...

Thanks to RL my DD games have improved dramatically.... and I am also able to mark ships on the mini map that are trying to sneak through undetected...

What RL does give you is the information of an enemy ship being close... it allows you to reassess your strategy. Depending on your DD, on the stage of the game, you either withdraw to come back at a different angle or you charge if you think you can destroy your opponent... example being late in the game where you know a DD has low Health... I too have had plenty of kills using RL indicators (My best double strike came from an RL based attack when I sank a Shima and Gearing with one full Shima salvo).. When I see the enemy carries RL I never fly in straight lines either as a DD...

As a DD main concealment, concealment, concealment...... This is your priority as your concealment IS you key weapon against your enemies. Also, an enemy with RL hasn't detected or spotted you he just know your approximate position.. don't fly straight lines and you'll be fine.. every level 14 captain or above I have on my DD's has CE and RL..

A game we should NOT have won.... by 12 minutes we are 5 ships against 10... CV is gone and the whole left flank melted... So with nothing to lose we close stations, combine AA and lemming train... I nail MASSA with torpedoes then it begins... Would you believe it, we win.... and I am the sole DD with around 8k health points remaining... my eyes keep the enemy spotted permanently.. One by one the enemy die and we win a game that we had no rights to win. Kagero is TRB too so salvos may have missed but it kept the enemy busy trying to avoid being hit......

No idea why I put 26.... If i go BB and not DD I have both Gneisenhau and Scharnhorst so will try them first.... Sinop will be my choice if they fail.... Gneisenau also has fewer secondaries 11x2 128mm and only 3 twin turret mains (With a 26 second reload)....

Scharnhorst has one advantage that nobody has mentioned once... Torpedoes and Sinop is a 33 second reload as opposed to Scharnhorsts 26... also you can get secondaries to 8km and with Manual Secondary gun control do serious damage to the careless.

I wonder if one of the test submarines accidentally targeted the Hamsters... I mean with the super dooper no miss torpedoes they would have been acoustically attracted to the whirling Hamster wheel wouldn't they...

I have just logged in without a hitch... 508 players in too.

Second game in today and a really tricky game to play... got caught by a salvo meant for our GK whilst I was smoking him some cover and lost 50% of my torpedo tubes... In my sector the enemy were MOSKVA, Des Moines, Ohio, Yamato, Smolensk, Halland... Defending Haragumo, Myself, GK and Hindenburg... The radar ships push taking station behind an Island whilst Halland and Ohio try to break our right flank.. The flank is defended by myself and Haragumo between us we take on the Halland and Ohio (Haragumo gets nailed by the last Ohio salvo just before my torpedoes hit him)... If I had had full torpedoes Haragumo would have survived.. Halland also eats a torp and so then tries to cap B but being spotted and being chased by Smaland he runs straight into the arms of Salem.. I am sitting on 5k health points trying to keep spotted the Moskva and DM... DM succumbs to GK who succumbs to a full Yamato salvo within seconds so Moskva remains in hiding whilst Yamato pushes.. Smaland pushes from B with Salem pushing the Moskva back... I am able to get into a position to keep MOSKVA spotted without detection and Hindenburg comes into play to take out the Smolensk... Thunderer nails Moskva and only Yamato is left. Last ship is Yamato who dies from flooding, from Hindenburg torpedoes, as my torpedoes reach his bow... However, Hindenburg is destroyed by fire from Smolensk before Yamato goes.. Hard game and one where you had to be on the ball.... we win and Karma goes up +3. Finger nail games where it could have swung either way.. Love 'em. Good job I take SE on my DD's...

I noticed this too so I aim right at the point of the bow at the waterline...

So many people I know don't like the idea of Subs... 8.0 wiped 15 members off my clan and they never came back.... wonder what Subs will do to the game?

Can't find TRB below Tier 7 IJN Gunboat line.... Shiratsuyu.. Torpedo boat side Kagero can use TRB at the cost of smoke... I suspect that the OP has merely witnessed a player firing a salvo then firing another from a different position... The OP is new, he may not understand that a DD doesn't have to fire their torpedoes in one go... I also don't have a problem with the OP asking a question... we were all new to the game once and some players don't have the benefit of friends who play. I think we're all better for the help of others so don't be too harsh with a new player; we are better than that aren't we?

So I am in my Asashio... Yeah so nobody rates her.... Not a high scoring game but a tactical defensive game... I am stuck on the east side of the map with a Lyon... Lyon is heavily damaged so I tell him to run and go dark to repair and recover. Our CV is on a different planet entirely, 'Uranus' most likely... he isn't with us it seems... Maybe he's smoking funny stuff... it's Saturday after all... So, I have got a Gaede, Lenin, Scharnhorst and Leander thinking that an Asashio is a pushover... 4/1 like so it's Bye bye Asashio.... Isn't it? But, they haven't met Migantium_Mashum have they guys.... nope they haven't... I keep Gaede spotted and he is popped pretty early... I throw a salvo of torps and hit a single on Lenin... he and Scharnhorst turn tail (Cowardy, Cowardy Custard)... Do I give up? Not on your life... So I chase down the BB's and pop Lenin with 2 more torpedoes and it's goodnight from him. Scahrnhorst runs into the rocks and is torn a new one... my torps were 4 seconds too late... Now Leander, oh dear Leander, you never take on an Asashio Bow to Stern (especially when Mashum has the controls) because those little aft guns sting a little and you'll die... sorry but it's true...
