What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Migantium_Mashum replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Mashum produces the Goods again with a Clan Mate.... No division pot luck entry... and we wiped the floor with the enemy. Sank both enemy Tallinns but look at the second... 1 shell zero damage kill So technically you can division... -
What asymmetric battles taught me

In the lower Tiers you have to work together... In the higher Tiers you have to work together... I prefer this Asymmetric game over random battles any day. Maybe some people don't like challenges and prefer the boring... I have played Tier V to Tier VIII and whatever side you're on if you aren't thinking two moves ahead... you should perhaps stay in COOP or RANDOM. -

When you have a team of Bots in Asymmetric and it's down to you to do the business.... Ain't it great when a plan comes together.... -
I am a DD main... radar isn't a problem for me.. watch the mini map, pay attention to radar cruisers locations...stay clear and spot them for the BB's to kill... Know the radar ranges of your enemy and you should never be in range.. A Cruiser firing radar also gives me the edge, if you think logically the Cruiser has just given themselves away so I make it my business to keep them spotted...

So as infuriating as it is when it happens to you, how happy would you be being on the receiving end of said shells? Works both ways.. Nothing to see guys move along. -
If you see me in my DD be gentle.. (and none of that Radar thingy it doesn't work well on Alaska at all, Honest , bounces everywhere you know, totally inaccurate. )

Try Asymmetric... it's fun, better than COOP, has good rewards (285,000 silver for a T6 win) and it works the Grey matter sitting in your cranium...

Get rid of the bots. Actually try make decent MM?? Asymmetrical battles.

Perhaps being this is the EU server time is a factor here? I played 20 games yesterday in both lower and higher tiers and saw not a single Bot.... I found the games fun, engaging, a little frustrating in lower tiers sometimes (There really are newbies in the lower tiers lolz) and as a Massa had fun against 3 CV's out to get me... -

You've just been unlucky or you're not playing right.. and it's nothing to do with giving high tier players anything (Rewards for lower tier victories are higher than the higher tiers 285,000 silver for a Tier 6 win) so climb out of your pram and pick up your rattle. Play right you don't lose in lower tier ships, play like idiots you do... -

That is the trick.. It's what I do for the low tier games... and if the T8's have a CV all DD's stick together... Combined AA with priority sector shreds any attacking aircraft. (And bring a Brain too) -

@invicta2012 I have played numerous low tier matches and to be honest, maybe I have been lucky, the enemy team having a CV didn't matter... DD's closed ranks and used AA together... with sector priority we shredded enemy planes... I have also played Tier 8 against 3 enemy CV's and it was engaging, it was fun. This Asymmetric battle mode, for me, makes a welcome change and the silver rewards are brilliant too. Tier 6 win netting 285,000 silver. I haven't encountered a single Bot today and I have played 20 games. -
Thank you bud...

Hello to Wollaton from Farndon, once upon a time I lived in Snapewood, Belgrave Road Bulwell, St Anns Well Road, Tippett Court top of Donkey hill and Mafeking Street Sneinton.... Knew Wollaton very well.

Just redeemed the Code FESTUM and got 5 containers... so still works. B1RTHDAYCAKE works too. (What do you get for it?) didn't see any reward in port....
-
This mode is actually fun... more so if your team aren't Bots or Potatoes....

Proposal : Radio Jammer (electronic countermeasures "dead zone")
Migantium_Mashum replied to UnterSeeBot's topic in General Discussion
Why don't they just make it so that Radar can be incapacitated or destroyed just the same as Guns or Torpedo tubes? I mean is that asking too much... -
1) The Shimakaze is not the best DD for chunking other DD's unless they have a massively lower health pool.. I know this because the Shimakaze is my favourite DD. 2) The minute you fire bang goes concealment and the enemy knows where you are. There goes your stealth.... Your comments shows that you really don't understand DD play whatsoever... a few guns hits, a little bit of fire damage over a torpedo strike?? I'd rather sink a ship with 5 - 10 torpedoes and stay concealed, stay alive, than risk my cover blown, risk my death, as opposed to taking fatal risks for a few salvoes from my guns that may gain me 20,000 dmg....
-
A DD's health pool is what less than 30,000 in most cases, some even below 20,000, and the minute you do use your guns you're spotted for 20 seconds or more if you catch fire... So a Shimakaze with 5.6km concealment is going to open fire with guns rather than sneak in for torpedoes, one way to die quick don't you think?
-
I agree DD's are influential, they are a crucial factor for victory, but in a team of twelve players the influence means nothing if the other team members don't do their part... Unless of course you're going to tell me a single DD can be everywhere, do everything, sink every enemy opponent, on their own? I mean if some BB captain hasn't figured it out by Tier X that he needs to eliminate enemy radar ships or a Cruiser captain doesn't use his radar or a CV Captain just heads off for glory not even bothering to spot enemy DD's... a DD's role is not what you'd call influential. The DD has great importance ONLY IF his team has intelligence... beyond that the DD will either die fast or enjoy watching his team die.
-
DD play is still viable... Whether it be Torpedo or Gun; let's face it nearly all DD's carry Torpedoes... Know your enemy, know their Hydro ranges, know their radar ranges and they can never catch you. With RL you will know where the enemy is if you pay attention to detail. Use the Mini Map as this WILL keep you alive... Even with a CV the game is not as hopeless for you as you might think, the minute the aircraft comes your way (Indicated from the Mini Map) turn and head for your nearest ally until the aircraft move away then resume your action (Better to be alive to come back than pigheaded and dead), AA off makes it even harder for the CV to find you and if he finds you AA back on, sector priority, and then move with the aircraft.. Be the eyes of the team if you cannot get close for the kill and cap when it is safe to do so... Above all things understand your concealment and use it... Too many times you see DD's with 5.6km or less concealment firing their torpedoes from 8km or more.... 8km is a massive waste of torpedoes. Example: If you're attacking a GK match the turns and stay beyond 6km range and launch only at the Broadside. If you're attacking Wooster then it's 10km and watch out for the radar... In my Kitakaze, my Haragumo, my Halland I love attacking ships like JB and Izumo... stay on their rear beyond their secondary range, match their turns and HE their [edited]to extinction.... For example if the JB turns to the port side you turn starboard then to port and he can never get his main guns on you. If you also zoom in you can see the angles of their main guns which is also a factor many DD captains ignore... In my Shimakaze, Yugumo, Kagero it's in close (Usually between 6.5km-7km) fire and run... If I am TRB equipped fire twice. I like 8km torps @ 86 knots on Yugumo and Shima... regardless of the targets detection skills they never fail to hit. The beauty about close in attacks is that if you can see the way that their main guns point you can usually attack the opposite side in relative safety.. Unless I have the advantage, enemy DD's are targets of necessity only. The only thing that is bad, as a DD player, is the fact you do not know the team you play with... if they are morons it doesn't matter a jot how well you play.

Oh you're not alone in seeing that.... the beauty of T2 Silvers in T8 Prems...
