  1. Reality and arcade game being the two conflicting subjects you seem incapable to differentiate. But sure, have a cookie and a medal and lets forget about it, shall we?
  2. I couldn't possibly make it more clear, sorry, and I said that was my last try. Not gonna go back on my word. I'll just leave it with your own words: but there are not many occasions of a DD yolo'ing and even less that will have photo's
  3. Last try from me. I said: A DD yoloing a BB in open water, fine weather, to purposedly sink it with torps. This happens in the game countless times. Your example: No BB, a radar equiped cruiser (she didn't know about) No fine weather (so much fog indeed HMS Gloworm thought she was confronting another destroyer initially) Open water? Maybe, Im not sure, but the fog makes that bit irrelevant anyway. HMS Gloworm tried to smoke and run, was still being fired at because radar, chose to ram because no other options. So even if my statement about what happens often in game might be possible in real life, it has nothing to do with the one example you have posted.
  4. All of which can be applied to all classes already in game one way or another. DDs where never intended to yolo BBs, cruisers would never HE spam a BB to death whilst kiting, CVs would never dream of being 15km from a surface fleet IN concealment nor would they go about cross torping a DD in a cap (and that's what good CV players do, funnily enough) and on and on and on and on... EDIT Just realised you can also HE spam a BB with a cruiser from behind an island whilst using your magic radar. This is an arcade game. It will fuel ignorance about every ship and class in game as long as anyone is stupid enough to think WoWs is the place to go to in order to learn about 20th century naval warfare.
  5. Ha, have a read at even the wiki entry and then look at what I wrote and what happens INGAME with DDs appearing in fine weather 6km from a BB to purposedly torp them to oblivion. I dare you to find one single coincidence between both, because no BB (cruiser, and Hipper had radar btw), no fine weather and HMS Gloworm smoked and tried to escape when she realised it was a cruiser rather than a destroyer in front of her. So good job there.
  6. As if most ships in game weren't equiped with infinite torps and ammo to begin with or were performing roles never asigned in real life (cue DDs yoloing a BB from their 6km concealment in open water on a clear day and dropping torps at point blank) They are already here, playing all classes. Oh yes, We. Need. Them. Or WG does, in any case. (Me too, it's much harder to blap a unicum player that knows what he's doing)

How much time left for supercontainer for T10 ship?

Yeah, me too. The 200% XP bonus ends Thursday (or very early Friday to be precise) but if I have another week to get the containers I may not need to spend some FreeXP to research both Republique and Yueyang (100k and 50k to go respectively)
  8. Expect the first subs to have an air concealment of 2km, powercreeped over time to 1 that will attract half the DD population. Or at the very least those bordering the map on Shimas and not bothering about caps anyway. And expect most CV players not bothering with them either.
  9. I reckon half the DD players will move onto Submarines.
  10. Not bad considering I had ping going from 280 to 1180 and anywhere in between and aiming was nigh on impossible. I moved into cap B, 5 second freeze and suddenly I was 28 seconds from capturing it... WG has invented a time machine.

    "REAL" Birthday Special: September 14–28

15 SCs, maybe a couple more if I can get arsed to rush Alsace and Chung Mu, and that should be relatively easy as well, what with the 200% bonus, camos and special flags. Very nice present indeed, thanks WG!

    Royal Navy Arc

If you don't play tier X you are effectively out of CB and most of Ranked, whereas you can get pretty much every reward in this Arc bar the very top ones with lower tiers but yeah, I know the feeling. I've played almost exclusively tier Xs lately (mostly because of Legendary Modules) and my poor Kutuzov is sitting there doing nothing for weeks now.

    Royal Navy Arc

Only if you want to give it a go at the Hall of Fame really. And unless they scale up as they go, the missions per se seem easily done at other tiers as well. I will miss at least a couple stages, not sure what that means, but it looks nice enough.

Carriers are not good for the game

Do I need a right to express my opinion on the player's stats, as presented by you? I think it is quite clear that as far as you can infer anything out of a few games, they are poor players. They are certainly not unicum. And that's fine and to be expected, and for all I know they may be unicum with DDs or whatever. And no, we cannot agree that that player that starts with a 75% has a good chance of not turning into a T10 potato because the number of matches is waaaay too low and furthermore the game mechanics involved on playing Midway at tier X CV are totally different from playing Langley at IV. So no need to fit any agenda, sorry. You claimed players were interested in CVs (clearly not, or not for enough time anyway past tier V-VI) and that something was wrong at tier VII, yet the images you posted do not support your claims. Stats are not getting better at tiers V and VI. Do I want the game to be dumbed down? I'd say it's dumb enough as it is for the most part, except CVs, where the skill level gap is huge at the higher tiers. You don't need to dumb down my own argument to fit your response. A potato will always be farmed by the better player and rightly so. What needs to be prevented is the huge disparity in skill required to play CVs at high tiers because there is only one per side and the impact of that disparity is gigantic. With 4 DDs per side there is a good chance both sides have a unicum, a potato and a couple of average to good players. With CVs there is not. On top of the insta-deleting issue. Bad players will keep playing badly and lose money. The point is not to discourauge them from playing. Sorry, the RPG analogy is totally wrong. You can't equip DefAA on BBs or a torpedo launcher on a CV. The game prevents you from doing so in the same way you can't put a battle-axe on a mage. But the game lets you play CVs however you like it in the same way in an RPG you can launch spells with a mage, even if they are the wrong spells. The game won't tell you why are you trying to kill a fire dragon with a fireball instead of going for ice, will it? It may seem common sense, it may even be somewhere in the game or forums. But good luck hoping for the playerbase as a whole to learn anything but the basics of the game. Some people don't want to, some can't. Christ, the forum is filled with questions (I've done a few myself) a 30 second search on google/here/wows news page would give you the answer for. Average/casual players means exactly that. And since they are the majority of the playerbase, WG will pander to them. Ideal? Well maybe not, but that's what it is. And it is sustainable. Pandering to the 0.01% of CV unicums is not. He can think a lot of things. Some will not even think much about it because, again, not everyone is into WoWs with the aim of improving. No amount of info (and there are lots available if you know where to look) will change that attitude. We probably have. But if a fail test for manual drops is set up, I want another for BBs AP-HE firing and out of spawn sailing, or a get-into-the-bl00dy cap and scout one for non Khabarovsk DDs, notwithstanding the fact that it could be financial suicide for WG mind. But what's not to like? Soon to be Yamatos would not be firing HE for 20 minutes and Shimas will go into caps instead of hugging the border to get at that CV at the other side of the map. But critically there will be more unicum CVs ruining everbody's game and a lot of people walking out of it. Which is the problem at hand, one that no failed test barrier will solve.

Carriers are not good for the game

That is one unicum stat out of a grand total of 2 for all 3 players you've posted. Out of 33 games played in that particular ship I might add, meaning it is statistically irrelevant. Likewise their WR is neither here nor there as only one player has more than 60 battles in ONE particular CV. In any case these are low tier stats when it has been clearly established that the problem is at its worst at higher tiers. I gave CVs a go because I wanted to play all classes and because some missions require you to play CVs. I stopped because I dislike RTS. And I probably dislike RTS because I suck at it. Funnily enough my stats are right there with those you've posted. Also irrelevant, with 106 battles between all CVs. If I win the next 10 I'll be on a WR of 52% (still irrelevant and more importantly it's not gonna happen because I'm done with them) Spot the difference between a whole class (except the odd ship like the Ranger I suppose) and you naming one premium DD, one CL (recently added and thus subject to nerfs) and one premium BB. Sure there are particular ships that are either broken or OP but there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the class, be it DDs, CA/CLs or BBs. On the other hand, there is something utterly wrong with the way CVs gameplay/skill level has been designed. No he is not. How can bad players destroy the game even if they leave, if they have spent money on it? 1k unicums players all on their own because everybody else has f*cked off will destroy the game. But bad players? Nah, WG needs them, boy you and I both need them, they are usually the ones we blap because they show their broadside of stay in their smoke inside the cap. But more importantly, WG needs them to make a profit out of WoWs. I know it is a hard pill to swallow and I'm sorry but I think your high expectations for the game (in terms of how good the playerbase can or needs to be) are not realistic. Bad/average players are a must in this game, whereas unicums are not, hence the pandering to the average/casual player. And that is ultimately the reason why failed test barriers are a self-defeating, counterproductive exercise.

Carriers are not good for the game

How many players have these games you speak about? You will be lucky to find more than 20k at the best of times in WoWs, good luck if you want to get rid or curtail the fun/progress of tha majority of them. And the Yamato guy kinda proves my point, thanks. Put a mandatory test at, say, tier VII, and the guy that spent 300€ in premium time, ships, and gold to convert FreeXP to rush Izumo would have left the game without spending that money. Top work. WG is looking at contracting you as we speak (or read) Tough luck mate, brainless hordes are here to stay, and to put it bluntly WG needs those brainless hordes to make something out of this game. In contrast, other than the odd premium time here and there, I no longer buy premium ships nor spend money in this game anymore. Oh, and the masses of unicum CVs (of which there are five...) are irrelevant to how will these game succeed, other than to making a lot of people angry/desperate. 2 unicum CVs are as likely to ruin the match for the other 22 players than to balance each other out. Are you really claiming that CVs are easy for the average guy? Or that Saipan is responsible for players not progressing past tier VII? Can't see it, sorry. Not from the screenshots you have posted. All 3 players were already poor at lower tiers. WG has made a lot of mistakes. One of which is to create an unbalanced class (particular CVs notwithstanding) with a broken skill gap that gets more and more pronounced the futher you go up to the point where at tier X they can delete just about every ship in the game.

Carriers are not good for the game

I might have missed something here, but a mandatory tutorial that you can fail is a big NO NO. Because then there should be a mandatory tutorial/test for those DD players who have potatoed their way up to the Shimakaze or the BB of choice without learning anything in the process. Otherwise, you are just putting a patch to solve a broken/OP issue rather than a playerbase skill level one. And why am I against mantadory tests, would you ask? Because of this: It cannot be stressed enough. The way CV's currently work (or don't) is ultimately WG's fault in designing them against the other classes. Putting a barrier in the form of a test that would only let the unicum players pass through and dominate tier X battles in their Midway/Hakuryus would only exacerbate the problem. If CV's are too difficult for 95% of the playerbase (to the point of most people abandoning them at low to mid tiers) then it needs to be solved. Tutorials are not going to cut it, sorry. Help? Maybe, but that's nowhere near enough a solution. Hard as it may sound to some, WG NEEDS to pander to the common denominator, as this game will succeed thanks to your average potato (of which there are thousands) rather than your unicum CV (of which there are a few hundred at most) The moment those thousands of average/casual players leave the game because they can't progress or fail a test WoWs will go the way of the Dodo. Because we need those BB potatoes.

    Final best-of-the-best-looking-ship poll

Why don't you name the number of men that died on Bismark, Scharnhorst and Yamato? Oh, and you're missing @MortenTardo's poing big time mate. Ship's looks IN WoWs, that is, its model and camo, not in real life. I've voted for Prinz Eugen, btw, although Scharnhorst is sexy af too. Yamato looks absolutely awesome from the front but that fat arse from X torret to stern...

Carriers are not good for the game

Ummm, on a CV yes, not so much on DDs. A stray torp and it can go badly for the DD because he'll be close to the caps. 20k odd hp on a ship that will be spotted one time or another, whereas the CV will not, hence the difference. But the dream MM is not really the way to look at it, but rather the common game. Hoping for the team to basically lemming train so that AA auras can protect the entire fleet not only forces the team into a crap tactic but is also not fun. More importantly, it requires a level of teamplay and communication that is simply not there and never will be (randoms, obvs) I know that pandering to the average player is frown upon here and dumbing everything down is surely not the way to go, but pandering to the 0.1% of unicum CV players is even worse. Skill gap impact between unicums and potatos on CVs needs to be toned down as its effect on the match is just absurd to the point of ruining it for the rest.
  21. This. I think Bismark has a free premium camo as well? Also Fiji (permacamoed) Maybe a couple others but I've sold most because I was usually short on credits (not anymore) I can't really see the point in keeping them anyway, I don't have enough time to play all the premiums, ships I'm grinding and those tier Xs I'm going for their LMs.

    Bots, Cheating, Poor play

So have you (granted, over not many battles, but then you also have 15k less av. damage and worse PR), not sure what the point is. I'd expect all players to have worse WR (and PR and av. damage for that matter) solo than in any kind of division.
  23. I notice this lifeboat has lifeboats of its own...

    Credits

Am I the only one seeing just a black pic right there? Anyway, basic finances and I daresay common sense at work here mate. You want to eat but don't want/can't pay for it? Charity, foodbanks, grow it yourself. You want oysters and caviar? You will have to pay for it mate. Can you play this game and earn credits without premium account? Yes, there is no need for premium account even at tier X if you are good enough. I'd say you don't really need to play at lower tiers either to break even. But you want to earn more and have faster progression? Pay for it.

    Monarch

Essentially this. Pop up from your great concealment at over 10km, fire your sh$ty guns once and get obliterated within a minute. Load camos and flags and grind your way out of her asap. Lion can at least make some BBQs.
