  1. I don't own that many tier IV-VII US or Japanese ships. Hmmm lets see, off the top of my head Kamikaze, Shinonome, Ryujo (no chance I'm inflicting that pain on my team) and Southern Dragon against Indianapolis and I think Colorado on the US side. So US, 750XP at tier 7 is a given and I'm not going further than the 10 points for the containers anyway. We used to rage about weekly missions being usually way too difficult but I do long for some rewards based on some skill rather than these endless grinding. But hey, for free stuff so all is good.
  2. I always preferred his saner brother, popcorn bro, on their rumblings in the Ships/DDs/Grozovoi thread. You can still see his nick in that chat pic you've posted. Not that I think anybody cares, mind.

    Can you find it?

There is a snow leopard bottom left though
  4. Sooo, the virgin sacrifice worked a treat and I ranked out this morning. Nice enough experience overall, less stressful than expected, which was surprising. Next to no CVs or rentals in the final ranks.
  5. Haven't met a lot of CVs in high ranks, most have probably ranked out. Bail out from the queue if you are going with a DD and you see 2 CVs waiting there.
  6. Thanks, to be honest I did not expect to stay that long, had the same bump as you around rank 10 and I'm not one to spend hours on end for relatively little gain. I was very close to quit but thankfully it has all gone swimmingly from there and hopefully it will continue for another 5 stars... I've done well with Z-52 and very well with Conqueror, I've sucked big time with Minotaur and Hindy. This last one it came as a surprise.
  7. 444 battles, is that for this season only? Mate you have played an average of 24 battles a day, no doubt you are burned! Moving one rank up a day, sitting at rank 2 now so cross fingers it will be over today, more likely tomorrow.

    WG we have a problem.

I have no problem whatsoever to discuss high tier woes andd we might even agree that it is no better than it was a year ago. Not sure it is worse mind, as the game changes, new lines and reworks are introduced, you get better... On your points: - High tier WR has decreased You mean between players right? That doesn't necessarily mean some players are getting worse and very few others better. You could have both guys improving but one doing so a lot more. The difference between a unicum an a casual player. - High tier damage has increased, however kills per match has decreased -> more damage farming, less effective damage That has little to do with the playerbase and a lot with WG and the way the game is designed and developed. Again, lines, mechanics and reworks. Although you could argue people has learned to angle, thus tanking more damage, maybe? But then it contradicts your first sentence on your next point (survivability) - Survivability has decreased harshly for everyone but CVs. CV survivability has ironically increased -> higher tanking damage as players take more damage CV survivability increase is anything but ironic (well, it is, as well as predictable) because you have to be very clever or more likely increibly stupid (as a DD or CV) to go after the CV now. - Population has dramatically increased as has the number of battles played Again, WG policy. Ranked in tier X, CWs, Campaigns... they are aiming at populating higher tiers where the economy is harsher and where 90% of the playerbase needs to either buy premium camo or premium account. Case in point, I've been playing this Ranked mostly on a Z-52 with no premium camo or account and I've probably lost a couple millions overall. And I consider myself a good enough player. As I said, I can see why very good players see no improvement in high tears (pun intended) and lets be honest, you never will. It is what it is, a few people dedicate hours to learn and take the game seriously, most people just want to sail their Yamato, and a few others are shooting HE from 20km away in a Kurfurst. But the playerbase as a whole is not worse. Neither here nor in any other online game out there. A quick google: Apex: League of Legends: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/0ltnieER-league-is-getting-progressively-worse Rocket League: I could go on and on, but you get the gist. Ironically, sometimes it will be potatos complaining (we have our share of threads here every other week about teammates being sh$t) Others it will be good players like you and @Saiyko In your case it is a matter of perspective and frustration.

    WG we have a problem.

From the guy who called me sweet sweet summerchild. It would be hilarious if it weren't pathetic. You aren't getting better at this, I might have to reconsider my point about people improving over time.

    WG we have a problem.

So from playerbase is getting worse and worse we have arrived at "now that I play high tiers players are generally sh$t and their perfomance is relatively worse compared to what little they have learned." Fair enough. It doesn't make your initial assertion any more true. Playerbase is not worse than it was a year ago. Nice goalpost moving, by the way. And definately cognitive bias at its finest.

    WG we have a problem.

Now demostrate players in the game now are worse than those before, or that those with thousands of battles are no better than when they started playing. Cognitive bias or humanity getting worse at online gaming. Take your pick.

    WG we have a problem.

Spare me the sweet sweet summerchild b0ll00cks please, it detracts from your argument if nothing else. And no, that most people are not improving up to your or El2whatever standards doesn't mean they don't improve. Because they don't feel the need to. They could and they would if they cared, as you can bet there are a lot of very accomplished people in other aspects of life who simply cannot be arsed to learn where to sail their Shima or angle their Montana. I'm glad though that you have conceded people gain some knowledge, which kind of makes your assertion that the player base gets worse and worse untrue. On top of illogical. Cognitive bias or humanity getting worse at online gaming. Take your pick.
  13. Taliesn

    WG we have a problem.

Yeah, nah. He's still improving, just not to your standards. His perfomance will still be better than when he started. Cognitive bias at work from someone who has a real interest in the game as compared to most people that just like to sail and shoot (and still learn a thing or two along the way)

    WG we have a problem.

I don't need MM monitor to know the playerbase is not very good. Most people don't take the game seriously to begin with (the clue is in game) so no surprises there. It shouldn't be a surprise either that everybody improves, however slightly, by simply playing the game. If only because it may take you 100 battles to realise there is a thing called premium consumables, or some such "easy concept". Or 500 as was my case with I can't remember what exactly but believe me it was embarrasing. It applies to all human activities really, practice might not make you perfect but it sure as hell helps improving. I haven't played american football in my life. If I started tomorrow I would be crap at it, and I still would be crap one year later, but slightly less so (discounting ageing natch) So no, it is impossible to get actually worse, specially when apparently this game has been being dumbed down for quite some time now, if we are to believe another very common trope around here. As i said, take your pick between cognitive bias and people getting worse and worse at playing EVERY online game there is.
  15. Taliesn

    WG we have a problem.

Damn, I was rather banking on the cognitive bias option Race to the bottom it is then.
  16. Taliesn

    WG we have a problem.

That doesn't make any sense, as in, it is simply not logical, the less so as you extend it over time, because (except for the most challenged players) everyone gets better as he/she plays. Sometimes a lot, more often just a bit, but everybody gets better. And I fail to understand how the new players entering the game could be worse now than they were a month ago, a year ago or when the game started to balance that fact of life, that we all get better with time. By the way, a cursory google search will net you a "the player base is getting worse and worse" comment for just about every bl00dy online game. So it is either some kind of cognitive bias at work or humanity is going downhill at a rate of knots.

To save a star or not, the big question.

The random element of MM and which teammates you get will always be there. Divisioning is not extended throughout the player base enough to allow them into Ranked because it would increase the randomness and the potential for roflstomps. We have CWs for that ultra competitive/cooperative type of match anyway. Agreed it needs a major overhaul if the saving star is to be eliminated, which kinda makes it very unlikely indeed.
  18. Taliesn

To save a star or not, the big question.

If the way XP is calculated dones't change, you have just ensured the CV, Conqueror and Henri in everybody's team will get to reach rank 1 by winning 55 battles as they will get a saving star on every match they lose. Unless of course everyone and their mother start playing CV, Conqueror and Henri and the mother of the farming fests ensues.
  19. Taliesn

    Invisible dd's

Exactly. You can predict where will the DDs go (behind that large-ish island left (from the south) unless they are potatoes, in which case good for the other team. Ditto for the Worcesters/Desmos.
  20. Taliesn

To save a star or not, the big question.

Problem with having no saving star is that with a, say, 60% WR, you will need almost 300 battles to reach rank 1. With a 55% you are looking at 550 battles. If you manage to reach rank 1 with a 50% WR they you are wasting your time and you should be buying a lottery ticket instead. On the other hand, saving stars as they are know are very unfair. All the way with you about DDs. If they do their job around caps they won't keep the star in a loss, meaning they need a better WR in comparison with the Conquerors/Henris/CVs.
  21. Taliesn

    Worst Ranked Season ever !!!

There is just the one place where DDs cap in Epicentre, it shouldn't really have been that difficult to locate them.
  22. Taliesn

    Z52 needs some love

She's not the easiest of DDs to play, that's for sure. How can a Grozovoi have better base capture stat I cannot fathom. And no doubt me liking her colours my perception. She's 4th out of 8th in WR for my tier X DDs, 3rd in damage and 1st (by a long margin) in PR. And yes, when you take out cap control she definately feels underwhelming. Haha, ok you've convinced me. Roll on the buff!
  23. Taliesn

    WG we have a problem.

Yeah but no. That the player base has since the very beginning being getting worse (and presumably will continue to do so) is demostrably false and illogical and the in game feeling you are experiencing is much better explained by the fact that you are getting better as a player, thus noticing when others make mistakes (which you no longer do). That doesn't mean the player base is worse, if anything it should be better since most players improve from the moment they start playing, provided they stay in the game. So no, the player base is neither pond life now nor will it be 5 or 10 years from now, when people like you will still be complaining that players were better way back when.
  24. Taliesn

    WG we have a problem.

Personal opinion huh? And no, it is not getting worse year by year, you are (hopefully) getting better. If what you claim (personal opinion, not facts) were true, we would be pond life by this stage. And yes, 5 years from now someone will still be claiming it is getting worse. It reminds me of something I read about one of the firsts clay tablets from Mesopotamia being about a guy lamenting how the youth of his age was a bunch of uninterested, uneducated boors. Examples of which can probably be found on every place and culture until today. Do you truly think we are more stupid than the young'uns from 4,000BC? PS As it happens the clay tablet story is fake, but the sentiment is probably true.
