It is relevant because it is a real life analogy and it should explain how there are better reasons why DDs (motorcycle drivers) die a lot more than CA/BB drivers (car/truck drivers) other than their particular skill. But you know this. That's why you mostly play BBs. I'm happy to leave it here too.

Legendary module for new tech tree and premium ships
Taliesn replied to unsinkable_sam_'s topic in General Discussion
I think they stated in a previous Q&A (the one in St Petersburg with Flamu and 3 other CCs) that Legendary Modules would be no more, but that was before the NTC debacle. I doubt we'll see more of those and I fear the grinding for them should they decide to release a few more. -
Hmmm, nope, I don't think it was me, I've looked back and I once replied to one post of yours (agreeing with you) which you liked, and later you answered to another post of mine in another thread with a rather cryptic answer, and I think that's about it. So you are probably confusing me with another poster but hey ho. I try not to do stat-shaming, unless the poster claims something about himself that is clearly contradicted by his stats. Which is something that gets on my tits. As to my example, I think it is a pretty neat one, in so much as there is a clear and common sense reason why motorcycle drivers (whenever the actual accidents happen) have a higher fatality rate other than them being dumber than car drivers, in the same way DDs going down a lot more than other classes can be more easily attributed to a lack of hp and heal and to their general position in the map than to the supposed quality of the players in question. You can put as 100 choices after B) Motorcycle drivers are dumb a.f., as you want, many of those will still make a lot more sense than B). Same with DDs. If there is no accident, which would be the equivalent of the DD never going anywhere close to the cap and playfully sail around the border spamming torps, then we would clearly see that that player is: A) Surviving a lot more than the average DD player B) Losing a lot more because he's doing sweet f.a. C) Really a bad player, not because he dies early on, but because he's not doing the job of a DD. D) All of the above E) Whatever you feel needs to go here so you don't feel forced by not having enough choices. Finally, I said road vehicles because they share well, a road. But if you want to add planes, they are like DDs too. They are indeed the safest but if they go down (i.e. detected), you are even less protected than in a motorcycle. Because well, speed and height.

Ermm, ok so I looked. You are playing 9-10 battles every two days, and only a few are in tier X ships. Do you really believe your WR is representative of anything with so small a sample? Your overall tier X WR is low but then the sample is small (70 battles at most). Also, your PR with tier X ships is lower than with your tier VIII-IX ships, so a lower WR may be expected. Your PR is good though, so you should really wait until you have a few hundred battles before making too much out of it.

He's claiming DDs have the lowest survavility rate because DD players are the worst. Hardly related to the topic but I coulnd't let it go.
-
Aw bless... Let's try with an example, shall we? Out of all road vehicles (motorcycles, cars, light trucks...) by far the highest fatality rate is that of motorcycle drivers. Now do you think this is because: A) Motorcycles cannot protect the driver at all B) Motorcycle drivers are all dumb a.f.

Go back and read @ColonelPete's take on them for the love of God. They don't need to be underpowered (not that they are OP) to be the class with the lowest survivability FFS. Which bit of squishiest, lowest hp with no repair ship that is usually in or around caps did you fail to undestand? That is the reason they have low survivability, not the players. And it's called common sense. CVs would have the highest survivability because they stay away from the caps and are hardly ever spotted unless things have gone very bad, and BBs will have a higher survivability as well because HP, repair and gun range. It's not rocket science.
-
Any hard data to support your assertion that DD players are the worst? Other than the players sailing the ship with less hp , usually with no repair and the ones getting closer to the caps being naturally the one's to go down more often leading you to the wrong conclusion?

What is your fav class to play and why?
Taliesn replied to Bear__Necessities's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, very much this. I love cruisers but I can't stand the static, island hugging US ones for example. I would be trying to sail around the map in a shore battery if I were to play one. -
We need to make more threads like this one...

A few thoughts on this French DD event
Taliesn replied to You_Overextended's topic in General Discussion
All tier VII to X ships earn tolkens, premium, silver and those in between. Amount just varies. https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/french-destroyers-the-full-guide/ -
Luxury! I used to dream of living in a cardboard!

Not really, that's 2 containers over the last month and a half, so still below the average. In other words, I'm expecting a couple more at least soonTM (wink wink WG) It could well be 4% and 1-2% for non-TLY ones.
-
Aaaaaand another one. That's more like it! WG rulz!!!
-
I think SC drop rates in TYL are around the 2-3% mark (no link) so not really. Even allowing for getting all 3 containers every day of the month that's (checks his calculator...) 93 containers at most. So 2-3 seems just about right.

Got one yesterday, 50 La Fheile Padraig camos. All is good WG

What ship will you sail in the upcoming T9 Rank?
Taliesn replied to Yedwy's topic in General Discussion
Black, maybe Jutland and surely Musashi. I haven't played JBart that much. I enjoyed Roon back in the day but I'm not buying her back nor retraining a captain, and I'm not sure she will be as good in ranked as she was in randoms anyway. -
education video , not only ships mechanics, but tactics
Taliesn replied to remenberMYname's topic in General Discussion
Sometimes? Looking at your 100+ battles in tier IX-X ships, you have a combined average WR 43.7%, PR of 829, 60k damage and a little over half a kill per game. I'd guess you are waaaaaaay too agressive and die very early in BB/CA/DDs. In fact you only have better than average damage on CVs, because you don not rush into caps with them. Bottom line, mate, if you haven't learned with 14k+ battles no amount of videos will help you. It is a matter of you not putting the effort to learn, because the tools are there. Simple as. -
That must be it. I must admit I was pampered before. I'm probably not exaggerating if I say I've had 50+ SCs since I started playing, 2-3 every month. I'm back to premium time (nudge nudge wink wink WG...)

He has a wooping 21% WR with Khaba (PR of twenty fuppin' eight and 20k damage) He could improve that stat by simply going afk every game and let his teammates do their job. Well, except the damage one. Amazing how some people can't realise how bad/average they are and on top of that they are brazen enough to start topics here blaming others. -
I some missions/events yeah, maybe, but in the core game (random/ranked) it's a big NO from me. Enough balancing headaches in the game already.

Taliesn replied to remenberMYname's topic in General Discussion
Then lets look beyond winrate to PR, still Baaaaaad (or below average in cruisers and CVs) Also, 567 battles to get to rank 1 with a winrate (I know, you don't think we should look at it) of less than 47% is not something I would brag about but hey ho. You should look self awareness up. Honestly. The one and only common feature to all your average to bad 12k battles is YOU. There is a lesson there. -
Moving through islands and not only
Taliesn replied to BarthalomewKuma's topic in General Discussion
Compensatory container incoming. And it's quite becoming a regular feature, which is annoying a.f. If you reverse and then move forward and turn it kinda works. I've also seen my Zao shells dissapear mid air on their way to an stationary (I'm guessing bugged) Gearing, no island or obstacle between us.
