Have the Coop bots been this bad before? Some battles lasted 3 bl00dy minutes, I couldn't even load the torps in the Zao one. Anyway, my 22: 100xSierra Mike 15,000 Coal 100xZulu 50xWows Anniversary Camo 15,000 Coal 50xWows Anniversary Camo 1,000 Doubloons 100xIndia X-Ray 100xEqual Speed Charlie London 25xHydra 100xNovember Foxtrot 1,000 Doubloons 100xIndia X-Ray 1,000 Doubloons 25xOuroboros 1,000 Doubloons 50xOuroboros 50xValentines Day Camo 50xHalloween Camo 25xLeviathan 50xRed Dragon 25xHydra 4,000 doubloons and 30,000 coal, the rest nice to definately meh, but thanks WG! -
Yeah, this. If memory serves right last year it was simply play a battle with every tier X ship to get the SC. Also you had x special flags per 1,000 battles instead of the win a battle with ships of tiers VIII and IX to get 5 special flags per gift container (total number of special flags earned this way might be higher mind) But hey, free stuff and all that. Coop here we go!

I'm in Maybe we could establish some kind of groupings? Flags (Special) -> Number and Description Flags -> Number and Description Camo -> Number and Description Ship -> Description Currency (Coal, Steel, Doubloons) XP Premium Time -
Can we talk about the blatant lie that is Smolensk?
Taliesn replied to mantiscore's topic in General Discussion
I find the Murican lines to be the best overall. No howlers I can think of, good to very good ships all around, irrespective of class. And a few are some of the oldest out there. -
How many "Premium" ships you have (not counting ARP and similar)?
Taliesn replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
26 according to wows-numbers, which must be playing silly buggers because some are missing. Maybe there is a couple I haven't even played but definately I have played others; Georgia comes to mind... -

Yep, that's what I thought re Colbert. In the hands of your average player it must be a very frustrating ship to play. -

Well, colour me surprised, I wasn't expecting Colbert to be up there. How come the Capital of Russia is languishing at the bottom three? Make Moskva Great Again! Also, Buff Hindy! PS I don't own Salem so phuc it -
WG should design a map with something like 1,000 tiny islands evenly spread where you could just about fit a GK between them. Like a pinball with DDs and torps.
-
Ah, well spotted, sir.

Yeah, I used to post a bit there back then before it was closed. It is fair to say it didn't go down well with the spanish playerbase obviously, since afaik it was the only language section that was closed.

In fairness that part of the forum was closed down on March 2018 Try here: http://foros.aceroyfuego.com/forum/3-world-of-warships/ Also: There are many events where tier V is enough. Actually it is usually the lowest entry ship. Moving to tiers VI-VIII isn't really that difficult or time consuming. You can play Ranked Sprint where last two seasons were tier VI and VII respectively. You can play Clan battles with rental ships (maybe there is a cap if you haven't reached certain account level though) No chance there will ever be a credit for doublons exchange. Are you aware there are players out there with 240,000,000+ credits? But in general...
-
Yup, epicentre over Standard as well. And I think it suits Ranked.
-
It is never a regular event, even in ranked, and if you eliminate it you just happen to reduce the number of possible modes, making it all the more boring. Epicentre in the ranked sprints have been a blast IMO. And yes, by its own nature it forces ships to get close, and as such some ships are more useful than others, but it is not mindless, or at least it shouldn't be any more mindless than the modes/maps that promote 20km+ camping or island hugging. Modes and maps that also give a clear advantage to other ship types. You are better off camping with a LW Yamato than with a GK. Ditto for Worcesters and Des Moines behind islands. Aren't these modes/maps as toxic/horrid/one-dimensional as epicentre? Finally, modes/maps and particularly ranked/CWs have always resulted in some ships being a lot more useful than others. I've played a few ranked games over the last two days and I think I've met 1 FdG and not as single Lion or Izumo, for example. Ditto for Ibuki, Roon, Udaloi... but plenty of Georgias, Musashis, Blacks and Benhams.
-
I thought that's what we all wanted? Do we want camper-friendly modes now? I like epicentre and diversity.
-
I swear, look at my first two sorted by PR: The first two I researched I think, I'm regressing...
-
Some do, others are fine. Fletcher is tier for tier the very best in the whole US DD branch. Most DDs are good actually. Seattle, Roon, Izumo, Iowa... nothing wrong with those either. In fact I'd say many tier VIIIs are even in a worse spot due to the MM. I enjoyed that ship. Honest to God. Asashio Black? Really? And that writing style...

new sheriff in town soon? edit: SAP + fuel smoke
Taliesn replied to MrWastee's topic in General Discussion
Sure, no probs. The thing about powercreep is that I think that more often than not it is not a matter of one radar here or a reload booster there but usually it boils down to having better armor or overperforming guns (sigma, reload...) and/or torps in the case of DDs. WG doesn't seem to have been very consistent with smoke detectability ranges so far so trying to guess what it will be is futile but I would hope those armed with 203mm guns to have a high-ish detection penalty, so Venezia's should be closer to Hindy than Mino, so the rush gambit will be a very difficult thing to pull off, unless yolo, and that's hardly ideal. Also, this gimmick will be one of very few things they'll have to go for in their current state and that's not a good thing. Give me armor and/or gun perfomance any day of the week. -
new sheriff in town soon? edit: SAP + fuel smoke
Taliesn replied to MrWastee's topic in General Discussion
I don't mind gimmicks per se, there is a limit to what you can do with so many ship lines and powercreep doesn't usually come from gimmicks but armor and guns. The bit in bold, and from a position of total ignorance, would the smoke firing detectability thing not come into play if you charge someone and become detectable at 8 or 9km for example? 3 slow torps are hardly going to make it if you approach without using your guns. -
In fairness we'll have the Pizza Cruisers with their (WIP) long reload soonTM so there is that but yeah, the proof that HE spamming is annoying at worst is that you are more likely to see 5-6 BBs than cruisers, at least in high tiers. And I love how you can now citadel Conquerors, so well done WG on that.

I haven't stopped crying since yesterday I tells ya. I'm in good company though.

Says the guy that first accused me of stalking him and also said was not going to talk about the issue anymore whilst keeping the last word. Yeah, good try. I know you understand my analogy. Or I prefer to think you do in any case. Also, the things based on facts bit was really precious mind, given your stance on why DDs have lower survivability. Bye.
-
Exactly! We all think we are better than the average car/bike driver too. All of us. Hardly anyone would say he is a below average car driver, which makes no sense when you think about it :)
-
It is not about the number of accidents involving bikes against cars, either relative to numbers of each on the road or in absolute terms but about how many of those drivers die. As ColonelPete says, it is dramatic. Because it illustrates the point that DDs are more prone to die only because they lack (like bikes) protection in their case in terms of hp and heal. And it's got nothing to do with the skill or quality of one set of drivers (DDs/bikes) against the other (CA-BB/cars)
-
I got the feeling that Smolensk will also be a trap though, because many people will think smoke and daka daka huh? Easy mode yeah! But she'll be a bit like Mino (without the high arcs that allow you to shoot over islands and the super heal), someone looks funny at you and down you go. I expect many players to get detected, stop, smoke in open waters and get blapped in 20 seconds after the opposing Moskva or DesMoines radars you. The Colbert will be abandoned in disgust by 99% of those buying her after a couple of battles.
