  1. High WR is what makes the damage you do worth it. Just take a look at the afteraction report when you win and when you lose and you'll find a 80k damage mid of the table win gives you more than a 120k first of the table defeat. If there is one thing you need to look at first when considering which ships you want to play (unless you can burn 5+ hours a day on Wows or you don't care about rewards) is your winrate, followed by fun factor (which is incredibly subjective anyway)

    Yep. Seen from the moon because no Concealment Module, higher chance to get focused early on and you'll die to HE alpha and AP long before you get to use your second repair party. I tried it for maybe 30-40 games and it proved absolutely a downgrade.

    I find the bolded bit quite hard to believe if I'm honest, overpens notwithstanding. With an LM Yamato maaaaaaaaaybe, but that's it. Shotgun type shell dispersion is worse the farther you are from the target. That's pure, real life physics and it works that way in wows too. I think the best way to present the argument in favour of tanking with your BB is that those 2,500,000 points of damage you have soaked and survived would have gone to other allied ships that would not survive. And your damage is not going down by getting closer. You are a very good player, I'm truly baffled you think that way.

    1 & 2 If you reduce HE damage the only thing that you will encourage is for people to play BBs even more. There are enough as it is and despite the allegedly abusive and out of control HE spam meta the BB remains the ship of choice if you want to have a nice, hassle free little match compared to DDs and most cruisers. We'll see how the IFHE rework will affect this meta anyway. 3 Reward system is too damage dependant, no question about it. On the other hand I find it might be very hard to properly reward for shooting down planes when you have teammates calling for AA support when they have sailed to A1 or for targetting ships because one BB has called for concentrating fire on an enemy BB at 20km when you have an spotted DD or radar cruiser at half that distance. 4 Difference between XP for both teams is big enough as it is. As you say, you are more likely to push players away than any possible benefit you may obtain from widening the gap.

    True dat. Contrary to the current idea that DDs rarely spot or cap, I find that most do. It doesn't necessarily follow that your teammates will take advantage of your spotting though, let alone know which ship to shoot first. Case in point, spent half a match outspotting a Z23 and a couple of BBs in my Kidd. Not only my teammates failed to shoot the DD (that should be THE priority target) but when I looked at the afteraction report I had a wooping 20k damage upon my spotting...

    DDs have CVs, radar and hydro to contend with, with low hp and (mostly) no Repair Party. Cruisers have CVs and BBs/supercruisers to conted with, with medium hp, generally poor armor and a Repair Party that usually does very little past the second charge. Honestly, BBs have little to whine about in the survivability department. You want to tank because you can make half the enemy team shoot HE at you for 5 minutes and if you do not panic and use your repairs and damage con at the right time and make use of a bit of cover you will have contributed a LOT to winning the match. BBs that only get close to the caps when all is lost and go from 90k to 0k in 2 minutes with all repair parties unused are the problem, not the ones taking damage for the team.

    Surest way to make BBs push, or at least get closer to the caps, is to lower their range. Any other measure, campers will find a way around or won't care about. Lowering their accurary at long ranges for example will mean sweet fupp all to the average camper. He is not playing to top the team chart, he is not playing to improve either. He will just not care or even wonder how come he is now hitting with 1 gun instead of 3 out of his 9 gun Yamato when shooting another BB at 25km.

    I guess the problem here is one of perspective, of players looking at german BBs as if they are or rather they should be a carbon copy of any other BB line when they are clearly not. Yes, she needs to get closer. Yes, her survivability is lower. Yes, GK might not be the most accurate BB, even allowing for her shooting at closer ranges than a Yamato for example nor be a damage dealer (even with secondaries) compared again to a Yamato or a Kremlin. And yet that she still has a better winrate than those two might suggest she gets the job done anyway because she efficiently soaks damage that would otherwise be directed towards DDs or cruisers.

    WoWs? GK was my first tier X BB also. 26.81% accuracy with GK, 28.60% with Yamato. Not otherworldly but it works. Edit: For someone who claims he can't hit sh$t with GK you have a 5% bettter winrate with the german BB compared to Yamato. Wtf mate :)? Edit 2: Actually, your hit rate with Yamato is 28% and with GK is 29%

    There is playing aggresively and there is playing stupidly. That works for both BBs and Smolensks by the way. There will be situations where a Smolensk will farm a BB because he is in smoke, he is not radared or torped into oblivion, someone is spotting for him, the BB is sailing leisurely in front of him, repairing the one single fire plus any number of variables you may want to stack in your favour. But as a BB there is usually nothing preventing you from NOT yoloing to death when confronted with these. There will also be times when that Smolensk will be lit up inside his smoke and one citadel and a few pens/overpens will send him to the bottom pronto. A BB potato is gonna potato either way, but if you manage your repair parties and damage cons on top of some concealment and island use it will take half the team 5+ minutes to bring you down at the very least. There is hardly that level of coordination in randoms anyway but it it were, that's a good trade off for your team. Secondary build BBs have never been effective, HE meta notwithstanding. Should they be more effective? Hell yeah, but let's not pretend they were before. Fun fact, I have all tier X BBs (silver) and my full secondaries GK is the second best in terms of winrate and third in PR. She might not be that bad...

    I've played BBs quite a lot lately, mostly Georgia, LM Yamato and Kremlin. Not a chance in hell any of those guns are better at 15+ range, that's simply not true, even for Yamato's. And for every time a Smolensk has sunk me I've sunk three. You just have to remember that driving a BB doesn't mean you are immune to everything and staying 2+ minutes sailing in front of a Smolensk in open water will hurt. And yet a bit of maths will tell you that 1-2k damage every 4,5 seconds amounts to no more than 7-14k damage plus fires (you can still repair that damage though) in 30 seconds. Your BB has 90-100k. Oh, and there's this thing called shooting into the smoke (and Smolensk's isn't particularly large)

(this is your everyday potato claiming he knows best but can't understand how poor his own stats are) WG hates me (Tin Hat Foil Brigade) Yes, I'm sure WG hates you (or anyone) soooooo bad that they tweak the MM to fupp you. CVs are OP They are not. They were proper cancer before, particularly in tier X. Super Containers are a myth and not Super at the same time. SCs exist, and they are indeed Super (but not Elite, the clue is in the name)

CVs are OP Super Containers are a myth and not Super at the same time.

  19. Are you actively trying to miss the point? This is a business and it is all about demographics and knowing your target audience. How many russian players are out there for every italian or even british player? A few hundred? Good russian tanks + large russian player base? Good Good or meh UK or italian ships + not so large UK or italian base (or players interested in them? Not that good.

You are only giving the enemy team an early advantage by getting yourself killed for being too agressive and with those numbers you should probably count yourself lucky you have 43 wins out of 100 games. Zao is not the easiest cruiser to play, concealment notwithstanding. Also, cruisers better impact games by staying alive and by doing damage over time, change your playstyle instead of raging in chat and come back here when you have 200 battles on her.

    Hipper versus Prinz Eugen 0.8.9

    Prinz Eugen is one of the better rounded premiums out there and it's been in the game for quite some time. She has its strengths and weaknesses and she is not OP stupid or overly gimmicky. Just a well rounded ship. Having the repair party compared to Hipper is the game changer really, since you can get fire damage back whereas you will need to put fires out with Hipper sooner rather than later, because you are not getting those hp back.

  23. Got both the Montecuccoli and the Amalfi. Can't really comment on Monte because I don't play tier V anymore, but it felt really meh. Amalfi is just garbage. IF you have 16 seconds reload on you main guns it better be worth it. Well, it is not. Give me Atago, Prinz Eugen or Hipper (all 203mm) any day of the week.

    Yeah, same here. I try to load it again and it says it is already running. Check Task Manager and yep, right there it is. Also, some odd FPS and ping issues every now and then. Anyway...

    WG - Something has to give....

    4 year old guys can play this game now (and before) and still be no worse than bots (or part of the playerbase) We'll agree to disagree anyway I do. Very good players still do great with the rework and sink a DD in no time (it was even faster before the rework mind), no surprises there. But they cannot scout the whole bl00dy map whilst doing so. That only makes this CV iteration a lot better than the previous one, when well played they were a pure cancer.
