Jeon_Buk_96

The ROKS Jeon Buk 96 renamed ROKS Jeon Buk 916 started first as USS Everett F Larson (DD-830), a gearing class destroyer. Laid down on September 4, 1944, she was launched in January 28, 1945, and commisioned on April 06, 1945.

In August 1972, transferred to South Korea, renamed Jeon Buk, orignally hull number was 96, and later on changed to 916, she served in the Korean Navy for 54 years until 1999. She was a museum, the local government did not have enough funds to keep her safe, because of increasing costs for maintenance, and so she was off-limits for the public since July 5th ,2021, was said to have some of her equipment like guns etc sent for display in the Korean Navy, while other parts of metal sold to private sector.

My late father was 4th Captain of this ship, and myself a retired Navy Officer, started to play this game to enjoy again, relive the ship.

While in my active duty in the navy, I was able to participate in naval operations to get aboard ships of the same class in Korea.
