    As for the penalty,  Its proportional to the time you are alive not necessarily the length of the game. This means that when you detonate at the start of a game you wont get penalized.  in the case of your example of dds yoloing cap, it would always trigger a penalty if it was based of of game length. However in saying this, If you do this enough, you do get flagged as well, regardless of you dying or not. It comes across as Bot characteristics. 

     

    I am not here to say that the detection system works perfectly, i have been a victim of it as well. But the difference is that I took it as it is,  pretty sure i sent the details to support and a CM it was possibly Seraphice with a screen shots and a replay file. At the same time though i did not expect the rewards to be re reimbursed to me.  It just bugs me when people try and call out issues  like this and Blame WG, yet they don't provide all the evidence available.  One might  even try and turn around and accuse me of being a WG simp, but this in itself is not true as i am very critical of the direction they are taking this game. I just try and be fair to all parties.  

    Correct me if I am wrong but, the conditions are nowhere documented so we are unable to determine for ourselves if the penalty is just. Also the OP said he opened a ticket (as you did yourself in this case) and that he doubts he'll get the rewards credited. And only asks if this happened to anybody else. Looks like a pretty civil post given the circumstances.

     

    So instead of you just confirming that "yes it has happened to you as well", as you have just confirmed in the reply, you attack him for lying ...

    Honestly dude, if you were afk just admit it, if you were not  just send  us the replay.  Until you do that i am going to side on the side that you were justly penalized. negatively react to this post all you want but it wont remove the doubt. i am trying to give you the opportunity to prove beyond a doubt that you are innocent and WG system is flawed. 

    hmm screenshots match (damage, number of kills, ship etc.) I don't see a reason to doubt them. and if he was afk (point a ship in some direction and go for a tea) you will not be able to see it from a replay anyway ... and neither would WG so your friendly stance is "guilty until proven innocent".

    Here is a situation.  I Jump into a game, I put my Auto Pilot to sail to a few points, I then go to the kitchen make my self some tea, this takes me 5 mins. At this time i am not doing anything to help the team, even though my ship is moving. Thus when i post the SS it show that my Boat moved when you look at KM Traveled. Next  i get back from making my tea, convieniently in the next 5 mins  4 ships sailbroadside to me and i get my 150k dmg and 4 Kills. I at this point in time have been afk for 50% of the game, thus i get penalised. Is it Fair to penalise me. No according to the screenshots, but yes it is  according to the replay because I was inactive.

     

    Its simple. Always question the situation, especially if information is hidden or a person is reluctant to provide it.  Most cases if you are guilty you will try to hide stuff. Its not to say this player is doing it. But just providing all information removes doubt.

    in your case, even if he was at the keyboard the outcome for you would be the same ... the autopilot got you the the same spot even if you have piloted manually and you don't need to do anything more than the autopilot would do. then you get the important contribution in the match by killing 1/3 of the enemy team. then you have no more targets in range so you have to sail for some minutes again to reach new targets.

     

    from your point of view, 30% of the players in the game should be penalized because they did the same. or what about a DD that runs straight into the cap and gets killed in 2 minutes ? he contributed much much less yet is not penalized in this way.


  6. Dear WG, who came up with the asymmetric idea for these mechanics ? Why is one mechanic manual (smoke screen) while the other is a click and place? Seriously, the smoke screen is more difficult to place than the minefield.

     

    Why is that ? Why does the smoke screen not work the same way as the minefield ? One CV has to put more work into the gimmick than the other. And the easier one is the one that can actually deal damage !!!

Torpedo squadrons are definitely not a primary squadron for KM CVs, therefore maybe buffing them while nerfing the other two at the same time is okay for the WG.

    the only ones that do not have downsides are either completely worthless, i.e. they don't help the ship at the primary class role or are for CVs ...

    Khaba LM is slot 5 so rudder and it still has a severe penalty on consumables ... xplain that please ... is it not enough to trade concealment or rudder for range and damage ? strange how the same concept suddenly does not apply ...

  9. I hope we can turn off the fauna. I would hate the thought that animals can come to harm while we are battling on the seas. Yes those are pixel animals but so are the battles only virtual.

     

    Or will we get crew on the ships ingame to even out the situation ?

     

    WG please realize this is an idiotic move ... once you start adding living objects around the ships things get uncomfortable ...

    At no point in this post do I state that any one thing is too strong, or that any 1 role plays a certain way 100% of the time. I'm purely stating observations across the board, and making an objective hypothesis about the cause. 

     

    So you fear the harmless unseen more than the actual danger you can see ... interesting thought there ...

  11. So I have tried a BB:

    This is me literally just taking the GK for the first time ever out in Asymmetric Battle, go have a look at my stats. I am a DD main. I am not a good DD player, but I enjoy the class the most. Now I got the above result by just sailing around the map and shooting at anything I could shoot at, not caring about torps (took 4, almost flooded out), not caring about positioning, not caring about anything.... just blasting my guns.

     

    With a DD my best result so far was around 170k damage or so and that was hard work.

     

    How on Earth does WG think this mode is nothing but a BB fiesta ? Even if you nerf the rewards to the ground, just the fun is worth it. The other classes (I don't count Petro and Stalind or similar "cruisers") are hard work to get such results.

  12. I stopped worrying about this and adjusted my spending and gameplay. I ignore all the events that don't fit my playstyle, and if nothing works in a given patch, I don't play. This should be a game that you play to have fun. I have my day job to be frustrated about ...

    that's all ok, but shouldn't they test the full functionality, i.e if it counts correctly when all other game modes are present/available ? I mean imagine you switch game modes, does the change register ? or if you start in operations, it applies the new limit but when you switch to random the limit stays regardless ? no option to test that in the scenario ... as usual, WG only testing a very limited set of circumstances and then acting surprised when bugs get onto live ...


  14. I have noticed one thing. Since relative damage is the most rewarded, DDs unless they land torps have low income since they do like 30-40% at most before the target is dead and you need to shift focus. Also with 2-3 kills and 100-140k damage, BBs have DOUBLE the base XP than I do without fail. Yes that might be a me problem, but again relative vs absolute damage and other issues. So even with the economy adjustments, they still earn MORE.

     

    BUT, I do not want more cruises in the mode, or DDs because they are crazy accurate for bots so a DD dies very quickly if not careful.

  16. well firstly there should be a separate thread for each game mode, however then we need same for game types (Domination, Standard, Arms race) ... I mean look at the MM/CV/SUB discussions, they are a graveyard of ideas because nobody ever reads more than the last 2-3 pages and in typical WG fashion, there is NO moderator who would keep track ...

     

    so any such thread is wasted effort. WG have no intention to participate in discussions anyway. and we players can argue among us already in the forums ...
