    Can we see the analysis you based those decisions on ? Because it basically contradicts all the feedback. Those positive about the airstrike pointed to the ability to dodge (you are reducing the ability to dodge by increasing the bomb area and reducing time to impact) and those negative about airstrike were not happy about the inability to do anything about it, stealth drop and damage potential (these you basically ignored completely).

  4. see this is exactly it ... we cannot have one single source of information on a new thing, it has to be spread into multiple pieces so it is not easy to reference or follow .... so in this article you (WG) presented some nice idea ... the problem is, we don't know if it won't be hosed in the next one ... like the achievements ... the initial idea was ok. however the followup articles and actual implementation were terrible for anybody except maybe coop players .....

  6. I don't like the "up to" parts in the article. Can we get details what that means for Twitch drops f.e. ? Will this replace the current containers and missions ? Or will this be in addition to those ? There will be a catch in this somewhere later on ... because it looks too nice to be coming from WG ... just cannot place my finger on it yet ....

    that would maybe work ... basically planes from the rest of the squadron don't replenish the attacking wing ... I have asked for an alternative solution in the past ... a downed plane resets the aiming reticle to widest setting .... I don't think WG is likely to listen .....

  12. but f.e. permacamos WERE duplicated, I got RU DD t6-t8 permacamos that way for both lines ... yes captains were not duplicated, but creating a normal X point DUTCH captain (Swirski is not Dutch so cannot be cloned) should not be a problem ... not a technical one at least ...
  13. or they could simply do the old line split way: Clone the ship and captain to the adequate line .... When the IJN/RU DD split happened, WG was a much more fair and generous and they duplicated out ships and captains/camos back then. Now they just take away and give you something you have to pay for.

    There's no active thread on this topic anymore so I post it here: The change to Achievement rewards has a serious disadvantage for ALL players: The reward is not instant. That means, I trigger the missions but cannot play afterwards (for whatever reason), the missions expire and I GET NOTHING FOR MY ACHIEVEMENTS AT ALL !!! This seriously needs to be reverted. This change is bad for ALL players on MULTIPLE LEVELS.

    Care to explain the mechanics and contribution to "Blocking capture" ??? Because to this day I was under the impression that simply blocking a cap does not bring any XP/credits. Nothing about this is stated on the wiki either. Blocking has the Base defense ribbon there, so something is not correct somewhere .... F.e. Epicenter maps where people block the capture most often don't seem to be influenced by the amount of time I stay in the circles ...

    New stage of submarine testing

    This needs a few changes .... A submerged submarine is BLIND beyond periscope depth. This would solve 2 issues: 1. A Sub cannot stay submerged beyond periscope depth when it wants to accomplish something 2. Recharge of oxygen/battery can be reinstated Let's put it this way, submarines are ambush predators. They patrol an area and look for prey. Once prey is detected, they submerge and attack from stealth. If detected, they dive and try to get out of the hot zone. Unfortunately this combination of traits cannot be implemented in a simple way, thus WG is struggling (after all they think we are all stupid enough to just give them money). Basically, a submerged submarine cannot receive any information from the team. In that regard they are worse than a smoked up DD. A Sub at periscope depth relies on visual acquisition for itself, limited by view range. A surfaced sub behaves like a normal ship (full team spotting). Diving mechanics: Unfortunately to implement this in any reasonable way, the sub needs 2 resources: 1. Battery: Used for all operations (moving, launching torpedoes, reloading) 2. Oxygen: depleted at a steady rate when submerged An active sub depletes both, a sub waiting without movement depletes oxygen. Each reload start consumes a set amount of battery, moving depletes battery, shooting also depletes a set amount of battery. This forces a sub to adopt a diving cycle so that it dives only when it absolutely has to. Both resources recharge when surfaced. Surfaced sub goes a decent speed (20-28 knots), submerged subs are much slower, somewhere max 60% of their surface speed. ASW: ALL ships need hydrophones but there's a catch. Hydrophone becomes active only when ship is at 1/4 speed (similar to crawling smoke mechanics). So even a BB can detect a SUB this way, but it is much more vulnerable to said sub at the same time as a 1/4 speed BB cannot realistically evade torpedoes. A submerged sub has hydrophones active at all times but cannot detect ships moving at 1/4 speed or slower. Engine boost active disables Hydrophones not matter the ships speed. This will make DDs and CLs that have a reasonable quick 1/4 speed able to catch subs on hydrophones (or do a listen, detect, sun, listen, detect, run routine). Depth charges work as before, all other armament can damage subs at periscope depth and surfaced except rockets and AP. The only problem remains sub to sub warfare ... there I am out of ideas ... torping each other is kinda dumb ....

    Good for you. I'd actually like to get one but I cannot since stage 5 cannot be completed by single class players (DDs for me). It's not that the missions are hard, just they require other classes that I don't play ...

    I was waiting for some clever guy to mention the Surcouf, but thuse guns were planned as main armament, not as secondary guns. Oh and wile you are at it, why don't you mention he IJN aircraft carrying subs ? So WG has the full gamut of stupidity ...
