WG please give a tool to watch (older) Replays
Hugh_Ruka replied to Prophecy82's topic in General Discussion
why do you expect CS to watch replays ? they don't ... it's just another hurdle you need to climb and an excuse for them to close your ticket if you cannot provide a replay ... -

Changes to Twitch Drops in Update 0.10.5
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
The problem is: I have to watch Twitch AND then I have to play the game to complete the missions. It happened more than once for me that the missions expired because I could not play. So the reward has 2 steps where one is time limited. Basically things were changed to manual/ingame action in the last months more and more. Which is a trend I don't like. Previously you had some income even if you could not play the game. Right now, with the focus on missions this is completely the opposite and the containers are becoming less desirable ... -
Changes to Twitch Drops in Update 0.10.5
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Aand as expected, community tokens heavily promote WG official channel ... and to top it off, the normal Twitch containers are now for 4 hours of watching ... it was 2 hours previous update ... So another promising feature with terrible implementation ... -
so just complete the attack while the reticle is larger ? ....

Yeah, this was too much. I was playing on PTS in an 8.9sec rudder Khabarovsk and the CV was unable to hit me with rockets. I even reported that it was too much. The main problem with rockets is that you have no way to know when and where to dodge as they fly from overhead. they should have a similar attack angle to torpedo bombers and release from a bit further so a DD can see the rockets incoming and try to dodge. The current attack angle makes that very hard (believe me I have tried a lot of time as I play only DDs). WG messed up this one. And I am saying that as a DD main ....

Combat Discipline: Disabling Friendly Fire
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
The removal of friendly fire moves the game away from a team oriented effort and more into a single player with bots territory. Now you don't have to care about hitting friendlies so you can have at it as you wish ... -
Key Battle had some Armory shop associated with it IIRC with some options (premium time, captains, permacamos). This just some expendable camos and useless patches and flag. The only advantage is to grind T9 ships like in Ranked ... but if Grand Battle does not help with regular missions most people will pass ...

In a temporary mode that will vanish and the stats with it ? Are you serious ?

this should have been done a different way (I think it was already suggested): since start of attack the machine guns fire and there's not delay (or only 1-2 seconds) for completing the attack ... I mean I can dodge those in an 8.6sec rudder Khaba ... that shows just how bad that is ...

I might remember wrong, but didn't WG state the "AA is not designed to prevent the first strike" ??? And now we get CVs that only do ONE strike ....

Combat Discipline: Disabling Friendly Fire
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Well ... you still did not disprove what I said and my comparison is correct still. You are hung up on technicalities like number of hits but you are ignoring the principle. You are like "Yeah but the death sentence is only enacted after 40 attempted murders even if the victim is immortal and cannot be killed...", see the problem ? What they are doing is NOT solving any problem. As long as the damage impact effects are there, you can still annoy people to your heart content. You just need to count the hits, that's all. And you have an effective measure to deprive torpedo kills without any penalty to yourself. I'll tell you a secret, the griefers don't care about their team winning or losing, they care only about their fun griefing somebody. And the means are still there. With a less severe penalty from 0.10.5 ... Yes the current system punishes the whole team because they lose 2 ships. But that should be the incentive for the remaining players to report this and for WG to actually BAN people even if they paid them money. Many other games do publish ban lists and similar. WG does not for some perverted reason. I guess that's because they actually do not want to ban people so they can still get money from them. -
Combat Discipline: Disabling Friendly Fire
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Let's put it simply: You are removing team damage from the VICTIM, but you are keeping the penalty on the PERPETRATOR. Imagine you'd hit somebody in the face but you cannot do any harm to him, but you still pay the fine for injuring him/her. Do you think that is fair ? Or even logical ? Either remove team damage completely with no penalties or keep the current system. Also remove any warnings/effects from team damage. Torpedoes hitting an ally will vanish (as if they were not armed) so the ally is not disturbed by the effects. No torpedo warning indicator for friendly torps. Same for main battery hits. This will remove any satisfaction from the griefers while keeping a penalty: Their detection penalty when shooting main battery. -
Combat Discipline: Disabling Friendly Fire
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I know your (or my) ENglish is not the best, but I meant to say I will use the Khaba exactly because it does not use torpedoes as a primary weapon system (or at all in most games). And you still don't understand that eating teammates torpedoes on purpose to prevent him from killing your target is a penalty as well because that teammate does not get the XP and credits from the damage/kill ? In a normal system you'd not do that as you'd lose a lot of HP. Now you can freely stop him from torping, he gets reflected damage, you get NO PENALTY and get XP/credits on top for stealing the kill/damage. It's not that hard to comprehend now is it ? Just imagine 2 DDs sharing a smoke in a game which is not that uncommon ... in the current system they'd stay clear of each other because team damage. In the new system, one can block the other as much as he wants and even force him out of smoke as there's no penalty for that behaviour anymore ... -

you mean like those Belfast players in Ranked ? Or Missouri players ? Gremy or Kamikaze ? As I said, best tool for the job ... and afaik he does use Midway a lot as well which is a regular tech tree ship and the efficiency is not much lower ... so your point being ?- 119 replies

IDK ... we all have a preferred ship (or ships). Just look at my stats f.e. Also what's wrong with using the correct tool for the correct job ? CVs are best at spotting DDs. Some are even great at killing them. You would not take a Kremlin to torp enemy BBs or ?- 119 replies

Why do all special commanders have no rank?

Hugh_Ruka replied to Adm_Andre's topic in General Discussion
In RTS times you'd see AA builds actually, because they worked. So what you describe would not work in competitive. Also the other CV in the match would have something to say as well (with fighters that actually did what they were supposed to) ... I have fond memories of the Grozovoi nuking T10 CV squadrons from the sky with DFAA ... Now it is a useless consumable. I actually did run a semi-AA build back then ...- 119 replies

Combat Discipline: Disabling Friendly Fire
Hugh_Ruka replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
OK, so after 0.10.5 hits I'll take a break to keep my sanity ... or transition to something that does not use torps primarily like a Khaba f.e. First you force DDs to hug team mates with CV rework and then you make them even more difficult to play because catching their torps (to steal the kill f.e.) penalizes only the DD and never the offender .... Yes torping from back line etc etc ... but that actually makes the class more difficult to play on top of everything else ... so I hope the BBabies will complain about HE spam from smoke more and more since the other options are becoming extinct ... -
I have to say I don't like the ship based on the stats. But I have met a few in Ranked that played very well and I had issues playing against them, also a few Z-31s on my team that carried the games ...

Also, previously you got the reward no matter what. Now when you get achievements and the missions drop, you HAVE TO PLAY to get the rewards ... so you have to spend MORE time in the game for LESS reward. If you cannot play for a week (f.e. vacation or some other interference) you do not get anything for your achievements. EDIT: I was doing some math. The best you can get is 12 signals from one container, the worst is 4 signals. There are 8 signal containers (I am ignoring the gift containers for now). You need 5x5000k BXP to complete both chains, giving a generous 1250 BXP per game, that's 20 games. In the best case, you get 96 signals (8 containers each 12 signals) in the worst case you get 8x4 = 32 signals. Imagine you use 1 signal each game to complete the missions. That's 76 signals in best case (note those are RANDOM signals) and 12 signals in the worst case. Now I ignored the other rewards so far. If you get 400 coal in each container, you get 3200 coal which is the cost of 20 Det flags with the 50% coupon. But you use those 20 det flags in 20 games just to guarantee a good result. All in all, the Achievement change was a net negative to any player except those playing co-op without any signals. I doubt people play randoms with NO signals ...

so the Airstrike attack is still unbalanced and in testing yet you have set a date for EA for the Dutch cruisers ... I wonder how that will turn out ... oh wait I don't ....
