    Udaloi 'B' hull - A downgrade?

    Udaloi is out of position in that line unfortunately. In the previous arrangement the line went Tashkent -> Udaloi -> Khabarovsk with stats to match. However at the line split, the new branch was created for what you see today: Ognevoi -> Udaloi -> Grozovoi. Ognevoi had its concealment adjusted to match the line traits, Udaloi did not. The result is: Udaloi still plays better in the Tashkent/Khaba style than the Ognevoi/Grozovoi style due to serious lack of concealment. It's not a bad ship, just out of place in that line as it pays the price (Smoke+heal configuration) without the benefits (concealment). Ideally a full concealment built Udaloi should be in the 6.2 - 6.0 km concealment range. Also the rudder shift is more in the Tashkent/Khaba line as well ....

    Why Grand Battle is a great idea badly implemented

    I am alternating Khabarovsk and Marceau in this mode to grind their captains a bit. I do wonder why CVs were included when the promo video states that the SuperBBs are an evolution where CVs did not take over the battlefield. Yet they did in this game mode anyway. Also there needs to be a limit on DDs per game. I have a 5DD/4BB game yesterday (or a similar split), basically no cruisers and DDs have a field day. I do agree with the OP that the mode is a terrible implementation of a grand idea ....

    Bonus for win of the day does not work in Grand Battle ? I have played 3 today, 2x Khaba, 1x Marceau, won all 3. Still have 50% win of the day bonus displayed on the ships .... have I missed something in the patch notes ?

  9. define long range ... 90% of the (DD) torpedoes in the game are at most 10km. EU DDs have longer torps but those do little damage overall so you have to hit more for the same effect ...
  10. There is no contradiction. Controlling the range is only possible if you have visibility of the target at all times. In the other instances you have to predict his actions and the speed of executing them and one mistake will lead to either wasted torps or damage taken. Gunboat DDs are a different matter as they bloom concealment when attacking, those can work with islands better ... but still running into a hydro or radar while rounding and island is the worst thing that can happen to a DD.
  11. Thing is, to carry out a successful torpedo attack you need to be sub 10km, ideally sub 8km of the intended target. The only reason to launch torpedoes from further away is either area denial (where you are not expecting to hit anyway) or launching at a radar ships outside his radar range (where 1 or 2 torps are enough to move him from position). In a DD you need open water as much as possible to take full advantage of your concealment. Islands of almost any kind play against you more than they help you.

  13. Why ? I mean I'd love to see Belfasts gone from Bronze, but they are few and far between. And Haida ? That ship requires actual skill to be useful for the team. I think I had issues with one or two so far ... the others just potatoed and got killed. Nelson is not that good given the armor scheme ... Sinops are much worse ...

    Yes it is intended. They do this with EVERY new ships released for doubloons. You just have to wait will they milk all the whales and release a normal Ships section bundle ...
  17. Why do you think cover = islands ? Cover also means your teammates f.e. You have to pay attention to the battle and which enemy is looking where and attack from their blind spots, vanishing into concealment when they shift attention to you. That simple. The best map in this game TBH is Ocean. I have played it with about every applicable DD with good (Yugumo) or Bad (Tashkent, Khabarovsk) concealment. I can do well in both and the trick lies in controlling your own and enemies aggression. If you don't you'll sink quickly. Happened to me in all possible variants (sunk at the start and surviving the game with most HP and good damage/kills).

    could not get a Random T10 match in Khab, I switched to GB. Instant games, decent fun. And they don't affect the stats in any way so I can play as silly as I want !!!
  19. Interesting idea, bad execution as always. I hate the nerf to Twitch containers as a result of this change ... they might remove them now, they are useless ...

    If you watch the official channel .... I don't, I cannot stand the bullcrap there ... sorry ... I rather watch streamers that know what they are doing and I can learn something from them .... No amount of rewards will make me watch the official channel outside maybe KOTS broadcast ... Those containers don't compensate a thing. 95% I got speed or deto flags from Twitch containers which are UNIVERSALLY useful. Everything else drops randomized stuff and I really have no use for ramming flags .... Just for comparison, that 100k credits is 4 basic camos (concealment + dispersion). Does the Container camo give me 3 more games worth of XP ? Last time I checked it does not give 300% XP boost ... But for 100k credits I can buy camos for 4 games ... which is 3 more than the container gives me ...

    I get 1 (ONE !!!) camo instead of 10 signals !!! That's a huge difference ... and the containers were a good source of detonation and speed flags which are the 2 most important ones for DDs and cruisers ... having killed the achievements and now the twitch containers as source of usable signals, you are making the game much harder to play. You may say what you want about not making everybody happy, but this change makes NOBODY happy. We exchange usable signals in decent quantity for another currency that leads again to RNG boxes or items you buy once (permacamos) and forget about them. The expendable camos are not worth taking for the price ... It's not like you could have added something, you had to first take away ... It's quite a concerning trend lately from fixed and predetermined rewards to RNG containers.

    So I have opened the first container after update and I can see the catch: before: 100k credits, 5x signal, 10x signal (IIRC, might have been 5 and 5 signals) now: 1 expendable camo, 5 signals, 100 tokens So a clear nerf in value ... I was hoping we'll get the tokens IN ADDITION to what we were getting but no ... I was too optimistic ...

    At the beginning there were only containers. in quite liberal quantities. RNG based but it was possible to get more than 1 per day. Now we get 1 per week + 1 mission per week. Also everything is steered towards mission rewards (just look at the recent Achievements change). So you have to play the game to earn the mission and then you have to play the game to earn the rewards which is usually a token one (1-3 basic expendable camos or signals) or RNG boxes. And usually you spend more resources than you get as reward. While the game is getting less and less interesting to play (and more frustrating). So driving people towards more gameplay rewards will not work long-term ... EDIT: just noticed, 2 out of the 4 Twitch missions have nation or class restrictions ... WHY ???
