afaik radar duration for a lot of ships was extended at the same time that nerf hit (f.e. PA DDs radar, most of Russian radar) ... f.e. the last Stalingrad radar duration reduction lowered that to the exact original duration. the main problem with HE and DDs are not fires, they set each other on fire regularly, but direct damage and module breakage. that was not changed in any way in the cruiser/DD relation ... the concealment change regarding DDs and BBs was not a problem. again the main issue was cruisers vs DDs ...

Nerf cruisers HE was in relation to BBs not DDs. Last time I checked cruisers always had enough pen to damage DDs. And AP is still causing damage. Nerf BB concealment ? when and how was that done ? Radar duration was lowered ? You mean on the one Russian ship and that's it ?

Public Test of Update 0.10.6: Round 2

Community tokens ??? Sorry no. There's NO reason for me to touch PTS with those rewards. -
You mean we can mark missions by priority ? Or you will decide which missions are high-priority ? If the later please don't. Or enable us to dismiss missions we don't care about.

Almost every game:

poor Neptune ...

Lol really ? Smoke firing changes ? Flooding nerf ? Fire Prevention skill ? Almost every new cruiser has radar and/or hydro ? Oh btw DDs have the shortest weapon ranges in the game ... and least penetration of all main guns (except things that use DD guns like Smolensk or Atlanta, but that actually proves the point). Or you were not around when those changes happened ?

Yes, on all DDs.

And the BS meter goes to 11: Curving Halland Torps

You must have a lot going on in the background as well since it clutters your judgment and you are able to write such nonsense. 1. Flamu is not a CC anymore 2. You can see his ingame ping in the video 3. He has quite a state of the art computer and good internet connection, otherwise it would impact his experience and the experience of his viewers Also he has 3 screens so there's no clutter on the one he plays the game on. It's not like he's playing and streaming on a cheap 15" laptop .... -
That's actually a decent idea ... problem is when you get uptiered. A full T5 game will be f.e. 10 players while a T5-7 game will be 12 players suddenly ? from the perspective of the T5 player is looks weird ...

The problem here is we don't have the replay available. But there are still some issues with this anyway ... we don't know what the server side does ... -

I can see the "desync" on the first one. But there's no such thing on the 2nd one. From my observation playing torpedo boats, what you described as a desync is just an incorrect sequence after launch. Basically the game switches to the 2nd launcher while still indicating that the first one is empty (yellow) and then repaints the 2nd launcher cone as green (notice there's no angle switch). You can see it in the video at 3:56 where he launches, predictor jumps to 2nd launcher instantly but the cone is still yellow. It MAY be lag/desync, as in my experience, I cannot launch all torpedo launchers one after the other at the same place. I have seen streamers do it where they simply go one by one without a hitch, but for me the jump of the launcher cone is always present on a serial launch. Honestly I have no clue, there are at least 2 possible explanations (network desync/lag and input lag) other then a bug in the code. -

I have compared different frames from the twitch clip: Now I have to admit it looks like the direction is consistent. However I tried to pinpoint the exact second when he launched the first set in the YT video: The red arrow marks the island border. Now 2 things happen when you launch: 1. game switches to next launcher that is ready (if one exists) and 2. the launching cone widens: He was turning constantly, but notice that the launcher cone stays where his mouse is pointing. I guess the problem again is the internal timing of the server and that it registers inputs only on a sampling frequency. This was already shown on high ROF guns in another thread (I was sceptical of that at the beginning). and it seems to affect torpedo launch as well. for normal speed/pattern torpedoes it does not affect them much but a narrow/quick torpedo setup seems to be affected a lot since the smallest deviation will have greater impact. Anyway the first set should have hit the island with at least 1 torpedo as the launcher cone was 2/3 covered by the island ... he did not hit a single one ... -

If you watch the clip, he placed the right border of the launch indicator on the DM nose when launching both sets. He did not use the prediction line (and he explains why). also he was moving to the north slightly, so the 2nd volley was launched in a more direct line ... yet both missed and NO torpedoes hit the island. in the clip the torpedoes MISSED the DM by a ship length .... -
Are WG changing the direction of your torps? ? ?

There are 2 threads on this topic, some people mentioned that it happened to them as well. -
Starter aka noob friendly/learning dd recomendations.
Hugh_Ruka replied to Dante_AK's topic in General Discussion
Start with either USN or RN DDs as they are hybrids most of the way with good guns, decent concealment and decent torpedoes. After you have selected a playstyle that fits you you can transition to a DD line that is more suited to that ... -

Hugh_Ruka replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
in the pinned comment under Flamus video is a link to twitch clip that nicely shows in an accelerated time video how the torps curved away from the island .... maybe ask Flamu for the replay ? I know he'd persona non grata at WG but why not go directly to the source ? -

Look at the pinned comment and there's a link to a Twitch clip that nicely shows the torpedoes actually curving ... which is amazing ... -

Hugh_Ruka replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
no, that's not a bug. basically what it does is it WIDENS on launching for some reason ... it's a graphical effect you can see on all torpedo launches. how the torps managed to miss the target and island is a mystery .... However having the replay, Flamu could have made a top down video shoving the torpedo path with the proper tracing ... he didn't which is fishy ... EDIT: He actually DID: this must be a bug .... -
How many DD players still shoot HE at this DD line midsection ?
Hugh_Ruka replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
Oh, hew to the game ? Check the Gearing and Khabarovsk while you are at it ... those are in the game for a bit longer .... -
the problem is Grozovoi has the flexibility, Udaloi does not because "reasons". You can cap contest in the Grozovoi quite well when you are aware of the limitations. You have no chance to do that in an Udaloi. Also the stealth torp range difference makes the Grozovoi more flexible. there's no progression in that line, Udaloi needs a different captain that will maybe work on Grozovoi, but will definitely not work on the Ognevoi.
-
Ognevoi is the first stealth torpedo boat in the Russian line, Grozovoi adds good guns to that. Udaloi has neither of those two. Yes the guns are decent and the torps are not bad as well (now, it used to get 8km torps). but the combination does not work with either playstyle (Ognevoi or Grozovoi).

Idea for extension of unique upgrade modules to T9 and T8 and T7 ships
Hugh_Ruka replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
Don't give them ideas to extend the RB. Please don't. -
Care to explain this ? If you mean theoretical DPS then maybe. Actual DPS not so much due to other properties like penetration vs armor and effective range. Highest actual DPS are still cruisers.
