You see, the problem is, they are going to great lengths to conceal vital parts or avoid commiting to something where we can hold them accountable. I mean the explanation is nice and all, but there are gaping holes and also none of that is available to us players to try and help with their situation. They basically said: we collect number and calculate other numbers from those to help us balance the game. But that is what we already know. They are not sitting idle. Unfortunately the results are more miss than hit in the last 2 years or so ...

I don't know where to start ... What got me was that WG even entertained the idea that they need to test a scenario where not all ships have a way to deal with submarines. I mean that idea in itself is patently stupid. Why don't you remove AA guns from 1/2 the ships then ? It is the same situation !!! Not that AA is effective, but it is there and gives at least an option. Or the notion about alternate German DD branch. Cruisers are the natural predators to DDs. Why should there be a DD branch that deals significant damage to cruisers ? I mean for that to be the case you just need to change IFHE for DDs to give them better HE pen ... And they finished with the R-P-S bullcrap ... That is no longer true since the CV rework and submarines skew this even more.There is no class that is effective against CVs. There are individual ships with decent AA, but that's it. It speaks volumes when the advice from WG how to deal with CVs was JustDodge(tm) and group up. None proved effective ....

well then you should ask WG for camos without bonuses that make the ships look decent ... I mean I was playing without ANYTHING (signals, camos, captain, upgrades) in the last event where there were special win bonuses and there was no performance difference ... coop doe not require that ... you are just wasting credits in coop that way

You cannot compare the ships for outside of the game stats. What is important is how they are implemented in the game. Just look at the Makarov and co. that family of cruisers differs in a few stats but they play the same anyway. Same in this example.

the differences you described are either unimportant for a cruiser (secondary armament) or are minor (looks, torpedo armament, AA) ... there's not enough difference to a Devonshire to matter....

Another update full of TX content ... how about Arms race for tier 7 or so ? Each new patch notes I get less and less interested in the game as it is only more of the same: TX content, new ship line EA, new premium ships. You even manage to take the fun out of alternate game modes like Arms race by making them TX ...

Canarias is a RN County class cruiser. We already have those in the game (London, Devonshire) ... also they need a gimmick for the new cruiser line because they think every line needs to be special with something .... even if the gimmick is crap for either game balance or effectivenes.

Sound presets: I DO hope there is still the option of the sliders available ? You see WG, there are a few things wrong with the current system NONE of which will be solved by a simplified interface: 1. There is not documentation which slider is responsible for which sounds to my knowledge and the client tooltips is incomplete 2. Some sounds don't seem to be assigned to any of the available sliders -

I don't think there will be any new UUs ... By changing them from mission to RB WG effectively killed them, nobody will bother to regrind lines for UUs. Also it does not help that most of the existing ones are crap or have very niche uses. Delny would work fine with the Khaba UU actually ... no need to change that ... just reduce the nerf on the consumable action time a bit ...

And it still counts only for ONE capture ribbon .... To this day I don't understand why WG does not use capture points as they are displayed in the Detailed stats post-battle screen for mission objectives ...

That's where the difference between submarines and DDs come into play :-) There's a difference in damage application. a DD in smoke is still vulnerable to the usual main armaments while sub underwater isn't. -

you misunderstood. I meant diving should work like DD smokescreen. you have a certain very limited time you can spend underwater in one go (1-2 minutes at most) and then you need to recharge your diving capacity to at least 50% before you can dive again, similar to consumable reload for smoke ... -

That's exactly it. You cannot force mistakes on subs in any meaningful way ... Sub need a mechanic similar to DD smokescreen just underwater. So you can force them to use it and then they have a vulnerable period on the surface ... same as DDs who are forced to waste a smoke and then can be hunted ... -

"Interesting" is a funny choice of word. It was interesting the first time I tried in a DD. I quickly learned however that a DD is very bad at countering subs, because it cannot put its advantages into play (stealth, speed, smoke, torpedoes). So I learned to avoid subs unless I have no other option left. It is similar to CVs really. I have no direct counter to either CV spotting or attack. Same with submarine. JustDODGE(tm) ...
