    Your 2nd sentence is what everybody is complaining about. Radar forces passive camping gameplay on the side of DDs. Most of the radar outranges effective DD damage projection or effective visibility (f.e. Cleveland 9.1 detection 9km radar, Indianapolis and CHapayev can "stealth" radar, DM has about 6m difference etc.). you are asking a bit too much from a squishy ship that relies on concealment (which is exactly what radar removes).

    You are a copy of Wilkatis ? Or a unique i.... derp ... In order to be shot at, you have to be visible with clear shell travel path. However not all those conditions need to be true for all ships shooting at you. Providing visibility and shooting the same target are not in any way related, the OTHER ships in the Radars team can shoot you ...

    From a DD perspective, that is good enough because I know which direction the radar comes from, the distance to it and which direction to escape. It gives me at least a chance ...

    well I left out a few points .... you have worse dispersion on the Grozo (Khaba is more accurate) and your HE DPM is lower (AP DPM is higher with more penetration - faster shells), you have one less heal than Khaba, but since you have smokes, you can shoot without being shot at when done right ... as for the other part of your comment, I am a total potato ... my Grozovoi WR is a disaster ...

    Well ... let's see ... You have both smoke and heal, you have almost the same firepower and speed, you can stealth torp, you have 1km+ more range, your have DFAA, you have better rudder shift and concealment ... Definitely a worse version of the Khaba ...

    Why are you people only talking about DDs when radar comes up ? They are not the only ones using smoke. Anyway, smoke has a function and usage that's pretty specific. It manipulates line of sight with some restrictions. Radar also manipulates line of sight, however in a very different way. Radar is not a counter to smoke, it is a counter to concealment in general. The problem is, the radar ship does not give up anything for the ability. If you smoke up, your own vision is lost and you rely on teammates to provide it. If you activate radar, you provide extra vision to yourself and the whole team without giving up anything. Also there are no restrictions on radar like there are on smoke LoS manipulation (firing from smoke changes the LoS limits). So we have one LoS manipulation (smoke) option with limits of time, range (area) and weapon system restrictions and a clear penalty to the user, we have second LoS manipulation (radar) option limited by time and range (area) without any other restrictions and no penalties to the user. Sounds balanced ?

    In my experience, if you have to slow down for anything in this ship, you really need the propulsion mod. Smoke camping or shooting from behind island, once you want to get out (torps/radar or simply relocating to a better position), the slow acceleration is a killer .....

    There's not difference between SHIP XP and Base XP when no bonuses are involved, so I don't see a point. It's not a different kind of XP (like captain or freeXP). But some explanation in HOW the different XP types are calculated should feature Base XP definition.

    Yeah, that's the theory, but when a Mino can literally FLOOD your smoke with AP shells, that worse dispersion does not matter much. I get hit plenty in my smoke while moving and firing, so that won't bother me much. It will mostly hit the island camping ships that actually need to camp islands for survival (Atlanta and her descendants in the new USN CL line).

    The DD stealthfire comparison is very good and actually appropriate as it is the exact same situation. One fix for radar ships could be to increase their assured detection to their radar range for the duration of the radar. That way, they are visible while radaring to their victims (same as you lose vision when smoking up, same principle).

    I guess this can be classified as user error, but I consider it a serious UI bug :-) Training room takes you instantly into the training room creator. All the other normal game modes (Co-op, Random, Scenario and I guess Ranked and Clan as well) simply change the game mode and you still have to press the big red Battle button to start a game. Not so Training room. It takes you right into the training room selections. How can this be a problem ? Well I wanted to test some BB AP on Destroyers with the Conqueror rental ship (finally found a use for those bloody annoying unfilterable things). So I selected the Conq and selected Training room, created and configured the room, but could not ready/start it ... I HAD NO COMMANDER ON THE SHIP !!! So I had to abandon it (there's no way to change/configure your ship at that stage). Wasted quite some time .... All other game modes allow you to change to them, but you cannot start them at sufficient Service record level and without commander on the ship. Nice and consistent. Please fix the training room selector to do that the same way. Alternatively allow ships without commanders to work in training rooms (I wonder what's the reason for not being able to enter a battle in a ship without commander but that is secondary).

    don't want to be a stat EDIT, but by the number of battles I am a total newb compared to you, yet my average DD stats are better than yours ... as for the full stealth part, I do play torpedo reload booster Kagero and Shiratsuyu, I know how to minimize my map presence quite well. Believe me I can keep anybody without a radar or RPF spotted as much as I want and he'll have no clue what and where. especially when they have to deal with other enemy ships as well ...

    Sorry for the necro, I did not want to open a new thread for this. Anyway I found use for the T10 rental ships finally, I took the Conqueror with 457mm guns into a training room against RU T7 up to T10 DDs (have to retest with Bismarck). For all of the targets, waterline shots from ANY distance (even as low as 5km, where the shell has plenty of overpen and speed) result in full penetration damage on broadside DDs. I noticed in the "How it works" series that they mentioned that AP shells arm automatically when they hit water. I wanted to test it and it's definitely true. So no matter what armor values they change for DDs, they'll be always getting full pen damage from BBs as long as the BB shell touches water before penetrating the DD hull. ATM, broadside is the safer option, but since most BB captains aim at the waterline anyway to reach citadels, it's still not safe.

    Well I had my first hard system crash in ... ever ? I had the game exe crash on me 2-3 times in the past, this time it was the first hard system crash. have not changed anything since the last windows 10 update couple of patches ago ...

    Base experience is what the Team score shows next to your name after a battle. This then get's adjusted by bonuses (daily win, flags etc.) and then Captain and FreeXP get derived from that. I hope you noticed that the first results screen and the teamscore screen show different numbers right ? RIGHT ??? Never wondered why that is so ?

    again, that build was very viable even before the patch :-) what you gained is 45k more expensive rearm after battle (2 more consumables). exactly what a Shima did to me last game ... I was killed by an Henri and Minotaur while trying to figure out which way to escape the detection .....

    this is the exact build I was going for without the patch ... I guess HE means SE right ? This build was still viable back then because you had speed boost to overcome the inadequate stock engine. You did not need SI for consumables and you could take DE for additional fire damage. That playstyle did not change at all. So I don't see why this should be better in the new patch. Yes you have about a 1km more range, but that's about it. You have to tie up 3 points into SI which is now a mandatory skill for the Grozovoi. Previously you were a bit more flexible with the skills.

    Well typical WG, they create something generate a lot of hype and a few days later tell us how to obtain it. They are unable to release any complete feature at all. So far EVERYTHING apart from ships maybe has some missing parts on release. Also will the Rental ships count towards module missions ? It says Clan Battles in the conditions ...

    Actually I get the 2 stage mission screen as well .... no clue why or who thought that would be a good idea. On a related note, when I am in the patches/emblems part of the Service record screen, there's a Back to Port link, but it only get's me back to the main service record page ....
