Hmm I had the impression that the sector burst was quite effective but it might be just confirmation bias ... I did not play many games, but I actually shot down planes in my Z-23 and Kamikaze which was almost never the case before ... But I have to admit the new sector system is worse than before ... I need to turn my attention from my heading/enemies to the planes and activate the sector. As clunky as then previous implementation was, it was a bit better in that regard and I used it more often. Now I just forget or don't bother. I'd prefer 2 hotkeys, one for each side of the ship and be done with it. -
Armory, inventory, news, clan etc not loading in client

Had the same problem, works for me now (at least I could open the Armory). So I'd say some webserver problem on WG side ... it's not the first time after patch that I have seen similar .... -
looks like it was temporary problem on WG web server side .... works for me today ... I guess patch day caused some connection limit overflows ?

Tech tree finally looks usable :-) thanks. However the internal http browser has issues ? Premium shop works, Armory does not, News section does not work as well ... is it just me ?

That would interest me as well ... anything internal web browser related (Armory, News ...) does not work for me since patch ....

So far this is playing out exactly like the CV rework ... let's see if it will end the same ...

Some very interesting comments in here. On one hand I think the idea of submarines is worth exploring, on the other hand WG is unable to balance any ship class other than a plain gun/surface ship (and even there are issues). I fear this will go the way of the CV. At first a niche but powerful class then a rework into a niche and uninteresting class .... Historically submarines were never part of main naval operations. They served as sentry/warning lines during naval battles and to finish wounded ships (Pacific), or to execute attacks on supply lines (Atlantic/Mediterranean). Trying to force them into a main combat class will not work well. The concept of the ships is even less suitable for this role than CVs are. I could see subs work in Scenarios/Operations where one side is playing convoy and the other wolfpack.

Russian subs in the first wave ? I really did not know they actually used them in WW2 in any meaningful capacity .... Germans ok ... they practically made the class important. Japanese of course, they did all kind of mad experiments (plane carrying subs f.e.), US by the truckload .... Even UK had an important presence in the Mediterranean area ...

Сommander's Dismissal time increased from 5 to 60 minutes. WHY ??? Can we get a quick dismissal option like when you dismiss a commander twice it he'll be removed instantly ? -
I am missing the important numbers ... how many players participated per server/region ? Funny how certain numbers are omitted when inconvenient ... maybe ? I mean just looking at stats on maplesyrup the weekly battles are serveral times the total number of event battles ... fail maybe ?

That I would agree with ... but any player that is in the game for more than 6 months has Free XP to skip the first 4 tiers easily .... There should be economic incentives or similar for veterans to return to low tiers .... -

Just a side note, a way to populate lower tiers, say 4-6 would be to enable the player to designate a ship as captain trainer for a line after reaching T10. Basically you reach Tier 10 and you get a token to assign to a ship in tiers 4-6 to serve as a naval training ship for that line. What that would give is the following: 1. Better captain XP gain for any captain assigned to that ship. The idea is to make this an accelerated captain trainer 2. The ship will not produce Free XP nor Elite commander XP in exchange for the Captain XP bonus 3. Special flags (Dragon etc) have only 50% of their effect 4. Captains can be assigned to the ship without retraining, however it is not a premium ship, assigning the captain to other ships goes through the normal retraining process Basically players will get an incentive to play lower tiers and they get something for the effort. -

How things change ... after 0.8.0 I was feeling quite helpless against against CVs in my Grozovoi with anything less than full AA spec ... I would say AA needs a rework other than what WG is doing ... They have tried a few "tweaks" since 0.8.0 and not one did balance the interaction between surface ships and planes.

So with this change the Atlanta will become a pure AA ship ? Seriously WG ? Anyway, RN DDs gain, IJN gunboats lose ... Both will still be good against DDs, just investing into IFHE will no longer be mandatory for one and god mode for the other ... And it will create a huge balancing mess ... -

NO. I don't have the time to play a game mode where I don't progress a line that I want. I don't have time to play as much as I would need to. I don't enjoy the game as much as I did before CV rework so I play a lot less than I used to. I still do troll the forums :-) -

WG. why don't we get a mode similar to WoT Frontline here ? Or lower thant T10 events ? Clan battles in T5 would be that bad ? There are quite a lot of different ideas to make people play mid tiers or new game modes ... oh wait ... when they are fun people will just play them an don't throw money in frustration to shorten a grind ? -

the point of it ... just looking at how stupidly they handled the AA change and the "hotfix" is quite the example of WG not understanding equivalency ... making AA more effective across the board without the player having to invest anything and then "fixing" it with something that requires the other side to invest captain points is quite a disparity ... that's not a hotfix, that's not even an attempt at one ... -
