    Interesting observation ... however ... This depends heavily on the class you play. F.e my overall WR is around 53% and I have 1.12 K/D ... however my last 7 days is 47% WR with 1.57 K/D ... does not match your observation ... I only play DDs ...

    1. any DD with DFAA did stand a good chance to not get hit at all 2. good AA DDs (Grozovoi f.e.) would simply shred any attempt at attacking them 3. your CV could EFFECTIVELY cover with fighters 4. The only reliable method of killing a DD was a cross-drop with torpedoes, it was timing critical and you had a good chance of avoiding it if you knew what you were doing As to the BBs and stuff, they had the same issues as they have now. Just that the danger was short-term rather than long term ... You would get a stacked drop from the CV back then but a high chance to kill planes ... basically doing a concentration of planes attack was a two way street, the CV could be deplaned rather fast if he did a mistake ... Now that will never be the case while he has to do more drops to kill a target ... The balance shifted from skill (positioning in AA cover, dodge and good execution, conservation of resources) to automated countermeasures (AA). Positioning is no longer relevant since there's not really effective AA of any kind ... So yeah, pre-rework the CV had more potential but the defending side had that as well ... now the potential of the CV is a bit less (or more in some respects, rockets vs DDs), while the defending options are much more limited ...

    I had to take a look who posted the comments you linked ... I don't know how Fem could be that clueless about how CVs worked pre-rework. Or rather is presenting a very selective narrative that suits her argument ... Especially point number 4 is just hilarious ... The reply to point 5 is simply damage control a that is actually a common situation and she has to know that (or does not know how to play CV, pick your choice).

    A person with less than a few thousand games will have a hard time adapting when switching ship classes in a session ... I have trouble switching between different DD types and I only play DDs ... And the point about know your enemy is not really true in this game. You have people sniping in Bismarcks, you have people tanking in Bismarcks and you have people going ham and brawl in Bismarcks ... so predicting what that one Bismarck target will do is not really that easy even if you know how the class plays .... Ever met a Kagero/Yugumo with a TRB ? It works quite differently to a Smoke variant .. same for Khabarovsk etc ... Des Memes anybody ?

    I think it's more a lack of specialization ... When people start playing all the classes more or less evenly, they will use the common tactics that mostly work for each one of them. Better would be for new players to pick up ONE class only and get one or 2 tier 10 ships in it, then change the class or pick up an additional one ...

    Typical WG implementation of a good idea: 1. Use the webpage instead of ingame login/first game for time the offer ... Why ??? I have to remember when I get home and have time to play to click this. If it was based on client login, that would be much better 2. Tier 6 ship with 3 point captain in a line that has 3 ships ? And you expect people to play that and WIN with it ? How about at least a 10 point captain ? So you basically made any participants either spend Elite captain XP or FreeXp to effectively participate or gimp the participants to be a boat anchor with 3 point captains to their teams. Or go COOP which most of the people will do I guess...

    Pretty much this ... when I give in to the teampressure to cap, I always die quickly since I get no support from the clusterf..k behind the nearest rock. At least when going wide and presruring the enemy team with vision and torps, I get damage and kills ....

    Shells or torpedoes explode on contact ... they don't care who they hit ... once live munition leaves your armament on an exciting journey into the unknown, it does not distinguish what it makes contact with ... and that's qood and proper ...

I was sure that was part of the minimap settings ... is that gone now ? not that I would like to turn it off, but still ... reducing player options is not what I call improving the game ... make it default to ON ok, but keep the option available to the player to turn it off ... oh wait ... it's WG we are talking about ...

    I did not notice any mention of CBs ... and care to point out the nerf to fighters ? Yes the spotting is nerfed but at the same time the patrol area and duration is extended. There are not many maps in this game where the cap is larger than 6km ... Seriously can you point out to me the nerf in spotting DDs ? Yes the fighters take longer to deploy but at the same time their effective area is larger ... I am not interested in CV to CV interaction, that one is shite no matter the fighter change ... and note is is a change to the fighters deployed by plane squadrons, not by the CV hull itself ...

    Yes it is. There's a dev blog released where they are testing fighter consumables lasting 90 seconds instead of 60 seconds ... that will definitely help ...

    Smolensk has enough range without that module ... so that would not help ... and I'd love to see a harugumo with range mod, you can't hit anything at that distance because you don't see it (out of view range)....

    That's exactly it, I enjoyed the old Shards map very much, no matter what side I spawned on. Now I just hate it.

    Yeah ... I had a game like that yesterday. Mountain Range map, Standard battle, we started in the north. The WHOLE team went for the right side (where C cap is in the Domination mode) and bunched up in the corner not even reaching the cap area. I was in a DD and some smartass wrote into chat "DDs please don't die in first 3 minutes" ... Well us DDs ended up defending the middle and the A cap side without support. We lost to a Gadjah Mada that simply went through the flank that everybody abandoned and once us DDs in the middle where overwhelmed he capped the base .... The rest of the team never left the upper right corner behind C cap ...
  24. Savage mode was DDs only or do I remember wrong ? Those are the ships with the least range ... so it would not work in Randoms with current BB ranges ... and CVs ...
