please do point that out to me ... if the CV is stupid enough to stay around me than yes ... but then again that's a problem of the player and not the ship class ... or rather weakness, not problem ... there are exactly these options: 1. I smoke up, I have wasted a smoke, he poops a fighter and leaves - CV won as he reduced my consumables without me getting anything out of it 2. he hits me once or twice - net win for CV 3. he decides I am not a viable target, recalls planes and can instantly lift off with another squad to go somewhere else - yeah I wasted his time but so did he waste mine ... let's call it a draw There is no other possible scenario is the CV player is any competent. If you know about one, do describe it to me .. I'd love to learn ... So basically, the downtime the CV forces on me in a draw is much higher than the downtime I force on him as he can reposition much much faster than I can. In the other scenarios I lose ... -

they indeed do, right when they release the rockets ... if you mean I should look at them in binos, good luck at that as the angle of view is limited and planes are too fast ... or trying to manouver at the same time ... CV has no such disadvantage when attacking ... somehow the advantages always seem to be on the CV side with the DD being left with ... erm ... smoke ? -

CV balance is fine when I have an impact on THEIR gameplay. Right now a DD has basically none while in the other direction it is huge ... Going hunting for the CV takes you out of the game and you are not guaranteed any result. The CV can harass you for some time and then go his merry way attacking other targets and then return to you when you start being a nuisance ... Because the effective envelope of a DD is in 90% of the cases a 10KM radius circle ... for a CV it is the entire map ... -

Prep time for rockets helps me a big shiny brown when I CANNOT SEE that he started that attack run ... The only time I can see the attacking wing is when they release their rockets and return to mothership ... I can only calculate the minimum required distance to arm the attack. And he can poop a fighter to keep me lit and give him all the time he needs ... Ever thought of that ? How can I effectively dodge when the only half-way telegraphed attack is dive bombers and to an extent torpedo planes ? Yes I know there are distances involved that I can kind off read from looking at the planes, but those only tell me the minimum required distance to arm the attack. With so little information and so little time to react you cannot do much. Also looking UP to see what the planes are doing is the worst task in this game as this seemingly never entered WG's collective consciousness that it would be ever needed ... shocking right ? -

oh another one that thinks playing against a CV is not enough to evaluate the impact they have on my gameplay ... what's next ? not playing as the damage control/firefighting crew on a BB does disqualify BB captains to complain about excesive HE meta ? -

The problem being the current ROFLSTOMP meta ... after 5-6 minutes you have no more influence on the game no matter what you do ... so if you wait a few minutes at the start to see how things develop, you might be too late to do anything ... so either or .... there's really not a lot of choice for DDs. Or rather there are only bad choices these days ... the best being: play some other class ... I had many a game recently where I went the cautious approach and after I got the cap I aimed for and could finally move to other objectives the rest of the team was so far gone I just yoloed the nearest enemy BB ... -

mhmm ... sure ... wall of skill ... there were 3 DDs capable of doing that (pre rework), 2 of which had to sacrifice smoke for the TRB ... or do you define the wall of skill as ANY torpedo spread ? EDIT: sorry. 4, I forgot the Shiratsuyu -

Hmmm ... reminds me of the 3DD kill game I had in my Bismarck ... or how many times I have pushed DDs in smoke with Fiji/Leander ... Hydro is a tool, same as smoke. You can use it defensively or offensively ... up to you ... -

What you are doing wrong ? You are trying to play DDs ... Seriously .... if a CV is present, wait for the initial sweep and start moving towards your cap of choice after he latched on to targets to attack. Will give you some time to do your work. If you are spotted by the CV, leave the area and look for other targets unless you have enough AA cruisers and available smoke around you. If the worst comes ... take it like a man ... erm ... just dodge(tm) ... In general, in a CV match the skill and awareness of the enemy CV decides your game. There's nothing you can do about it. -

the advantage of campaigns is that you can complete the tasks over and over again for stars and progress ... f.e. I as a DD only player can complete all of them while some of the missions will take me a long time because I have to regrind 1-star tasks. there were a couple of events already that were NOT possible to complete with one ship class only because the requirement design. there was no way around it .... -

so you went against the best AA DD post rework (up until Friesland was introduced) and I bet he took all the AA setup he could which would not be the case in a normal random game ... now try with a Kagero and tell me the difference ... EDIT: oh and 1:1 is sooo representative of a 12v12 game I don't know what to tell you ... -

You do not differentiate between delivery means and ammunition. Planes are like turrets and torpedo launchers while bombs/torpedoes are like shells and well ... torpedoes. I have yet to see a ship that can repair a completely destroyed turret or launcher (have met a lot of sad JBs that got both turrets busted early game). However a CV can replenish their main armament at a constant rate. Same for AA mounts and secondaries ... So compare apples to apples if you have to. -

Well I am talking about a DD and tier 8 ... as I said I don't have higher tier premium ships ... a properly played DD (not damage farming mode) rarely gets the damage for such high income ...

fully decked out and with an average game I make 500k in a Kidd profit, on a good game I make 700k ... with normal no-credit setup around 300k ... I don't have any higher tier premiums so cannot help there ... that's with premium account ...
