  1. how about attenuation ? same as smoke firing penalty, you get some but not the full detection ... this would basically cut radar reach to 2/3 or so ... 10km radar would become 8km radar or that around etc ... that's an idea I can work with ...

  4. That's not true and that's what I am trying to tell you here. The event is structured for people who already have everything and can pick a ship that best suits the mission or people that don't care about the gameplay and and just grind the missions (and of course whales that just buy their way through). There's nothing between those 2 extremes for people, that actually want to enjoy the game and don't have most of the nation and ship class combinations.
  5. You are seriously suggesting to people to play T5 when double T4 sealclubbing games are the norm there ? That is your idea of a fun game ? No thanks ... I rather invest my time in progressing the lines I already have than frustration in low tiers .... Look at it this way ... I have all nation DDs available up to tier 9 (except French and PA), RU and KM T10. I am unable to finish the first directive with that ... I simply run out of viable missions by 6 out of 7 ... The directives are structured a bit better than PR event (as they are not an insane grind) but effectively the same for me (and I'd say about 80% of the playerbase). Playing the game for the directive alone would f.e. mean I take out a Bismarck to farm potential damage. Park myself somewhere to be shot at and simply not care about the game, just about potential damage ... That will surely improve the quality of gameplay ... Are you seriously suggesting THAT ?

There are 5 missions that are generic, the rest are class and even nation specific or premium ship specific ... also somebody like me, that plays only a single class due to time constraints (I don't have time to play everything so I like to focus my attention) simply cannot do the directives as they are structured "to promote diversity" by mission prerequisites rather than completion criteria ... f.e. hit enemy ships 1600 times with main battery: french or RN DDs or 350k spotting damage PA and european DDs ... missing 3 other nations that have DDs .... the remaining are skill based (14 torps in single battle, 2500 base exp, 185k damage) ... those while not impossible are really hard for me as I am not a very good player (barely average).

    Don't we already have those ? Not by tier but by capability ? Like one team gets 3-4 radar cruisers and the other none ? Or Kleber+Khaba vs Shima+Halland ?

    You mean the lowest only Shimakaze has worse HE DPM than Z-52, on the other tiers even the IJN outgun the German DDs ... So what good is better penetration when the damage is not there anyway ? Oh wait ... that was all sarcasm on your part ? sorry I did not get that ...

And another random bundle token event after the failure that was the last one .... and don't get me started on the Dockyard [edited] ... another event structured at whales and veteran players with full port ...

  17. Again, the situation was a net gain for you, you did more damage to that DM than he did to you .... And you just showed how torpedoes can be used to PREVENT radar in that situation. You cannot prevent radar now with torps as they don't go through islands. Any radar cruiser in that situation would either have to be reckless/stupid to go out into the open or wait for the DD to smoke up so he has an advantage. No more invisible radar. It's the exact same situation as the smoke firing penalty change.
  18. On the other hand the DM would NOT eat your torps, so looks like a fair trade to me ... You'd lose HP, DM would be safe and Smolensk would be safe in his smoke as well ... You will have the short end of that stick there ... I don't think you have thought that one through properly ...
  19. Mino has no HE, so angle away and it's not that dangerous while being very squishy. Compared to the new RU cruisers that have quite the armor and very accurate HE ... The only time I had issues with a radar mino was him in a division with a DD to provide smoke. And I have met that combo exactly once so far ...
  20. The first rework showed me that there are some technical difficulties in changing radar that way. There were other suggestions as interference mechanic etc. to change radar. They opted to take the easy way out. Also they only talked about INTERNAL testing. There was no public test available. I don't remember any feature that hit public testing that was NOT implemented later (good or bad).
  21. They tested and introduced the Legendary modules as well and look at the mess they created. That WG tested something does not mean anything given their track record of game balance changes that broke quite a lot in the game .....

    You incentivize by completion criteria not by prerequisites. Prerequisites are there to LIMIT. That's their purpose. As I said already, 20 citadel hits favor BBs and cruisers without excluding DDs (but it is not easy in DDs) while torpedo hits don't exclude any class but torpedo BBs are far less common than torpedo cruisers etc. Arbitrary class restrictions are not needed ... unless you are afraid that CVs will be the best class for everything but Capture ribbons ... oh wait ... they are ... EDIT: oh I was blind, I noticed there are even Nation restrictions on the branching missions (350k spotting with PA and EU and 1600 hits with French and UK DDs) which restrict them to 2 nations per branch, leaving out 3 nations completely. This is such a [edited] way to "incentivize" ...
