Well ... I have watched Flambass play for about 2 hours ... then I realized what is wrong. You get the SAME hit sound when you hit the enemy as when they hit you !!! At the same time you CANNOT hear them shoot from the distance. That's soo distracting and immersion breaking ... Please implement a separate volume slider for my hits so I can make the LOWER in volume than the same sound when I am hit .... EDIT: played 2 battles, the new sound "engine" is obnoxious ... everything makes an audible sound ... EVERYTHING. I am tempted to turn sound completely off ... why does the speed telegraph need to click at each position when you reach that speed ? I was looking around like what's that sound ? where does it come from ... seriously freaking HORRENDOUS !! EDIT: I have lowered almost all sounds to the minimum, still some of them are too much (turret turning sound, speed telegraph) and are seemingly NOT affected by any slider. excellent update WG, you sound improvements forced me to actually play almost WITHOUT sound ...

I think what he meant is that surface ships pay higher maintenance cost for ammo than CVs do ? I have no clue there .... but it's an interesting question ... in the past when you lost a lot of planes you would lose credits even on a good win ...

Yeah I know that ... we do that too with my clan mates ... the difference is, we are all potatoes so it is much less effective ... and I don't have RPF on all my DD captains .... Anyway close coordination will always be better than a random team ... does no matter the ships and their setup ...

It was not the players that decided to put radar on T7 premium ships ... what can we do about it ? Except the Belfast I have the other 2. I played the Z-39 (not very much due to having a life but still) ... shock and horror You can find an issue in EVERY tier like that ... Musashi at T9 f.e. ? Still the point is that the broken CVs can be had much more easily than the broken radar ships ... omg calling Atlanta broken these days is really a stretch ... -
The first 2 paragraphs were fine ... then it went quickly downhill. The T6 CB will be a smoke fiesta, no radar, barely any hydro and planes in the sky. Also a tip WG, the lower tier leagues are more varied because the Clans at that level do NOT have the optimal setups at their disposal at all or very rarely. Compared to the TOP leagues were the opposite is the case. Also a suggestion: How about a test tournament on the PTS or similar and inviting the top clans with reasonable rewards ? That way you can move with changes a bit more aggressively while containing them on the test server and still get reasonable testing ? It's not like the top clan players have anything interesting to do in RAndoms ...

Seriously ? Why not do the Smoke gen by a fixed time ? USN DD smokes will not be massive while the low action time ones will not benefit at all ... % boosts only boost the already strong ones. I am on the fence about the 2nd one ... -
Hmm .... so instead of doing the proper change: REMOVING SA FROM PLANES, WG is doing a meaningless change and pretending it will help ... I play TRB Yugumo and Kagero. Those ships have already the best air detection there is ... but at the same time they are slow (lol think about the poor Akizuki). Once my position is acquired (no matter the source of detection), I cannot change my position quickly enough to avoid a reasonably skilled CV. The speed disparity is too high. For some reason, I have the feeling WG is balancing ship interactions in a 1:1 scenario and not in a realistic battle scenario. There are other DDs, radar cruisers etc that can spot me. Even trying to take a cap tells the CV my position. Torpedoes passing by a friendly ship reveal mu position. Friendly ship with RPF pinging an approximate position .... Hell I use that information as a DD to hunt enemy DDs and I am 4-5x slower than planes. The only situation this change will be any help is the initial plane recon sweep. At 2.5km detection now it is often times very close and time consuming to evade the initial sweep and be in a reasonable position to contest caps at early game. That will be easier after the change. But that's about the only difference.

what difference does that make ? once the cap starts flipping the CV knows exactly where I am ... and my options to avoid/defend are the same at the start or at the end of the game. look I am playing a Kidd this ranked sprint in division with a CV. the Kidd has the best AA of any DD at that tier ... I mostly get killed by planes spotting me AA on or off, no difference. Once my DFAA is on cooldown I can either smoke or die. this change does only one thing: discourage the use of AA on DDs. the only valid tactic now is to wait till the planes are right above you, activate AA, sector and DFAA onto the side they are leaving, so you get the most out of it. but then you have to pray that you shoot all planes down or you are spoted for 20 seconds and the enemy ships all shoot at you ....

I was away for a few days ... Well you cannot ignore the new player experience (like WG does with T4 CVs). My example was just to illustrate the knife edge the new players are playing on ... You can get 10pt captains for the "old" nations via Scenarios. There's no such thing for P-A, P-EU or RN ... so maybe this needs a bit more thought put into it ... Also you run into radar at T6 as you can get matched up with T8 ... so one tier difference .... not that much ... -

oh yeah ... genius ... I started on the PAN-EU line recently ... VIsby and now Vasteras ... try to achieve something in those ships with a 8 point captain and then put 10s radar into the mix and healing cruisers ... sure DDs OP ...
