Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
LOZFFVII replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
He won't know you've commented unless you use the @ command. @Ze_Reckless Like so. Also, I see this is your first post, so welcome to the forums! -

For me, the right hair length is dependant on the person/character. That Max, for instance, looks totally wrong to me because she should be boyish with short hair. Takao looks fine either way. Hamashukaze looks okay with long hair, but I still think she looks better with short hair - it fits her personality better. Tama is a weird one, it seems I only really like catgirls with short hair: -

I just had a game against @Ze_Reckless in his Gearing. Not exactly a shining example of a Benson game, I spent most of it running away from Des Moines and Moskva radars. I didn't land a single torpedo hit and all of my 8k damage was done to Ze Reckless himself (well, apart from about 800 which was done to a DM). But at least I got to sink you, Mr Reckless. -

Pics, so the thread doesn't end up going a week without content: -
Damn it, everyone's so fast. @ForlornSailor beat me to @Crysantos. Go on then, how'd you do so badly in such an excellent seal clubber, Cryssy? I'm always open to some S&M play: https://wows-numbers.com/player/541329663,Captain_LOZFFVII/

Question: How often ships come back to sales. I want Asashio.
LOZFFVII replied to SR_FRIOL's topic in General Discussion
As I expected, this thread quickly devolved into a Asashio LoverVsHater showdown. I'll just put this out here: in the current meta with radar cruisers galore, your Asashio is next to useless. The second you spot an enemy cruiser or try to cap? Radared. Dead. And unlike the IJN DD silver ships, you can't even torpedo cruisers. People always seem to say that torpedoing destroyers is impossible, but I refer you to this last weekend - no less than three times I've managed to torpedo enemy destroyers. I torpedoed a Fubuki that rushed my Kamikaze in my smokescreen (after spending his torpedoes, I might add) and two Shimakazes who were camping their smokescreens (in the same match as one of them I torpedoed an Atago that was camping a Yueyang smoke). A few weeks ago, I managed to torpedo an enemy Moskva after it was finished spotting my Shimakaze with its radar. I also refer people to a screenshot I posted in a previous Asashio thread where I managed to torpedo an Asashio by accident (I was aiming for the Nagato to the left): Objectively speaking, you sacrifice a lot of the versatility of Japanese destroyer torpedoes to gain overwhelming power versus one particular class of target. I, personally, will never consider this trade worthwhile, and I don't understand those who do. -
Why using oil as a gauge to determine how much coal/steel a player should get is quite a poor method & strategy.
LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Riiiight...funnily enough, I think that was my point. So all you've done is confirm that you have paid attention to my point, but you don't have any actual counterargument for why simply giving everyone a set bonus, separate from the clan-related bonus, is a better idea? Not that it matters anymore, as it looks like we are all getting a flat 5k coal bonus anyway. -

Okay, officially no-one has the right to complain about KC designs being over-sexualised anymore. Like, seriously, Ro-chan is a much better design than AL U-557. In other news: JERVIS! JERVIS! JAABISUU! -

LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I don't really feel like labouring the point any longer, as @MrFingers has already indicated that there is a mission that gives everyone 5000 coal, but this is one statement I refuse to leave lying down. Here is every time I've mentioned my prefered method for giving out rewards, I have not edited any of these, besides highlighting the salient points: So, can you please tell me how I've changed my calculation? Just a reminder of the calculation you've quoted of mine: -

LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I'm sorry, you're going to have to clarify what you mean by 'THAT'. From what I remember of the news post, I get diddly squat from not being in a clan. Okay, now I'm certain you're being deliberately ignorant of the points I've been making. At no point have I said I want to be rewarded for oil I haven't earned. I want everyone to get coal based on some metric that everyone agrees is a good one (like battles played) while the people in a clan get to keep their bonus for how much oil they have earned. It's not rocket science. I get 2776*Xcoal. You get 9315*Xcoal + N*5coal for being in a clan. Where X is the amount of coal per battle played before the update, and N is the amount of oil in your personal wallet. Clear enough now? -
Well, this thread is some nice light entertainment.

LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
So, 2776*15 minutes per battle(average)=41,640 minutes or 694 hours of game time is not being rewarded because I didn't 'earn' it? That's more time than I've spent on literally any other game apart from possibly the ones I used to play all the time as a kid. And what's besides the point is, I'm not just complaining for myself, but for everyone in the same situation as myself. Everyone who's spent the same time (or longer) on this game, but is shafted because they chose not to join a clan. And I must repeat: I'm not suggesting that clan members shouldn't be rewarded, I'm saying that everyone should have an equal opportunity reward and get bonuses for being in a clan. So, again, what's your point in arguing against me here? What is so great about the current reward system that is better than everyone getting just that little bit more? -
American Cruiser Collection - impossible to collect all???
LOZFFVII replied to callumwaw's topic in General Discussion
People here tend to be pretty friendly so long as the topic creator is open to learn and not spouting out nonsense and acting like he/she knows all. Also helps if the topic isnt one of the millions we've had with some variant of "change X", "nerf Y", "buff Z", which are all typically woefully misinformed or just outright wrong. Good luck and have fun completing your collections. -
I think your calculations are a tad off, as pretty much all cruisers from T4 up have Hydro with minimum 4km range and seem to do well enough at dodging torps with it. Actually, the 6-8seconds is entirely dependant on the actual speed of the torpedoes. Shimakaze's 20km slooooooooow fishies can be detected from around 2.7km and when you see them you have looooooaaaaads of time to dodge (in a DD, at least).

LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Last I checked, that picture you posted said this: Not: "The oil you've earned will become the basis for a new currency we will give to you as a one-time deal, but don't expect to earn any more of this new currency for any further oil you earn after this one-time payout." Sounds like a BONUS, not a savings pay-out. When was the last time your bank account paid you interest in Shmeckles instead of Euros/Pounds/Dollars/Etc.? Something is better than nothing. Even if I only got one coal per battle played, at least I would have 2776coal instead of zilch. You'd stand to benefit form this idea, too, y'know - you'd get an additional (hypothetical) 9291coal on top of the 5*X coal you'd get from being in a clan (where X is the amount of oil in your personal wallet). I seriously don't understand why you two are so against my point. -
I tend to find that my proximity indicator for ally torps activates 4-5km away from my ship, which is plenty of time to check that they aren't being aimed in my direction. Maybe it's just a feature of mostly playing destroyers that the same indicator range gives me plenty of time to dodge compared to other ship classes?

LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I refer you both to this: In other words, I have no problem with people being rewarded for being in a clan or making it to rank 1 (something I lack the patience or free time to do...), but I do have a problem with people NOT getting rewarded at all, despite possibly putting in equal or more effort than the others. -

LOZFFVII replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
You didn't read my comment at all. I'm not mad that oil wasn't explained as being 'valuable', I'm mad that my time spent playing the game isn't being rewarded because I chose to spend my time in a way that is arbitrarily not worth being rewarded. It's like this hypothetical scenario: two people started playing the game at the same time, one chose to immediately join a clan (or create one for personal use only) the other didn't, they both spend exactly the same time playing and both use the same ships and have identical win/loss ratings, etc. One of them is rewarded the other isn't, and I'm not happy being the one who isn't. -

So in other words, you looked at WG's bizarre convention for version numbers and you assumed it was still in beta? Here's the thing about ASSUME: It makes an A$$ out of U and ME. I started playing this game around the time the RN CLs were released - late October 2016 (probably around the same time you did). The difference between us is, I've been watching the game since it was in closed/open beta and I know for a fact that the game was 'released' at the same time the Tirpitz was added to the tech tree. Note that the game did not have a German tech tree at the time and the fact that the Torpitz had torpedoes was considered a novelty. Just a quick note: you see that little green "Beta Tester" under @AgarwaenME's profile pic? That means he was present during the game's actual beta testing phase. Do you see how neither you nor I have that little "Beta Tester" thing? That's because the game is in FULL RELEASE. I hope that settles this little side-topic once and for all. It probably won't, but a guy can dream, right? On Topic: Personally, as someone who's played this game solo for nigh-on 20months and has two TX's in port, I feel a little bit betrayed by the whole "You get bonus coal for the clan-only currency you have earned, solo players get stuffed". I took a break from WoWS over this weekend just gone because another game had a large update and I wanted to play it more. After seeing how I get shafted for my refusal to join any clans (and I have been offered at least twice) because I don't have time to dedicate much more than I do to the game, I'm actually questioning whether I should extend my break a bit longer...It's not like WG cares, right? Honestly, if the whole playerbase had a bonus based on X (whatever X may be) and clanmembers got the bonus for the oil they generated on top of this bonus X I wouldn't have any problem with the system. However only giving a bonus for clanmembers? That's a slap in my face, and I don't like being slapped in the face. -

Honestly, it wouldn't change how I treat either ship in randoms - both of them are strong. Flint is a 'safe' Atlanta with smoke instead of radar (also, the smoke is US DD smoke) so that makes it strong by itself. Black is a Fletcher with radar, which makes it brokenly OP. T9 Belfast levels of OP. T9 Belfast with no citadel levels of OP. I don't really care if my opponent is skilled or simply dedicated to the grind, both ships are dangerous.
