Javelin: I'm planning to put into a full-RN fleet now that I have QE. I haven't decided who else to put in, but I might go for Belfap, Edinburgh, Warspite/Hood and Lusty. N/Ping Hai: I am aware. At the moment, I have them in a fleet with Leander as a placeholder until Yat Sen comes to EN. Also, do you guys know that their Sakura Resistance ability procs in battle with the sirens in the current event? They've really been cleaning up for me. Unicorn: Uni/Foobird low-cost fleet? I guess I can give it a try, although since being used for grinding the fallen wings event, my Fletcher team has really started to work... Indy: I am aware of the combo with Portland. I just need to grind Portland herself a bit before I can use it. Vestal: She's currently just a placeholder for Akashi in my cheap fleet. Assuming she has no value in any given collection I'll probably just retire her as soon as I get Akashi. Currently on the mission that requires me to clear 8-4, but I'm only up to story mission 7-2, so it's gonna be a while. Sandy: I am well aware. Since the picture was taken I have fully LMB'd her ready for her to become NAMBAH WAN. Laffey, etc.: I was aware of all of them besides Shouhou... You think I should make retrofitting her a priority? Ajax: I am also aware of that one, but I'm currently saving my cruiser retrofits for when N/Ping Hai get theirs added to EN. None good apart from Takao: So that entire screen I can just finish collections and scrap? Good to know. Might hold onto Benson, last I checked you can only get her as part of the monthly sign-in. PE: Yep, I know. Not personally interest in using her, as she's a little too...'breath-y' more my liking. Still gonna level her, just so I have some extra CAs for hard mode maps. Although, my focus is more on Houston (we have a problem, you're too cute!) just for the lolz of 'Evasion Tanking' in a CA. And also because she's cute Juneau is just far too depressing for me to use. I can't send her into battle, any more than I can send Mutsuki and Kisaragi. Achilles? Never even considered her before. Guess I'll keep a hold of her. Cleveland: Phoenix: as with Uni, I'll consider it. Thanks for the help! -

You need to go to your task manager and manually shut down the game centre from there. -

Oh, great. I guess I should have checked this article before assuming I should've re-installed the TST client. Now I've uninstalled and will have to wait hours for a complete re-install come 3pm. -
I thought I'd have a go:

I recognise that artwork... Another eromangaka..? Oh, and hey, I'm back! Had a week off work, spent it grinding Kitakaze and she finally evolved into a Harugumo. Didn't bother logging onto the forums, no particular reason. Anyway, I'm in need of Azur Lane-related help. Here is my port, current as of two days ago: (Or to be more exact, this is 6/8 of my port - upload limits, lol - the other two I will put in a second post) As you can see, my port is sitting at around 137/150, and over the past week I have hit 150/150 multiple times, I need a clean up. Can you guys tell me which characters are: Not worth holding onto. Not part of some collection/collection isn't worth completing. So I can quickly scrap them? I really need to free up space. Oh, and Ping Hai is my wife now. -
Wow, consider me edumacated.

Incorrect, Yamato has 56% torpedo pretection. Thus the damage from Shima torps is severely reduced everywhere apart from the bow. Any decent Yamato player knows to try to take any torp damage on the belt. The rest of everyone's responses can be summed up with "Shimakaze can magically appear anywhere and launch torpedoes at any time" or are assuming that just because Shima is undetected must mean he can always get into the best possible position. I put it to you that if we were to actually try this hypothetical 1v1 in an ocean training room, we'd find that Yamato's evading might just occasionally turn him away from Shima, forcing Shima to have to find some way to get back in front of the target or at least broadside. Then all this time trying to find his angle is wasted when Yamato turns again. ...Of winning. But that's not the point of the hypothetical. The point of it is to show the stalemate. A smart Yamato is equally as ineffective against a smart Shimakaze as a smart Shimakaze is against a smart Yamato. Neither is op, neither is up, they are equal. With...his torps? Yamato can easily squeeze in the gap left by a single torpedo launch. If it can't it only needs to take them on the torpedo protection to nullify the flooding chance. With...his guns? How many shots does he need to set one fire? Even then, a smart Yamato will never repair just the one fire. Oh and smoking up blocks the Shima's view as much as the Yamato's.
-
And...? in a one-on-one-in-a-vacuum Yamato only needs to turn the rudder every 20s to completely dodge everything Shimakaze can throw at it.

I swear to the great cosmic teapot that I'm not following you, or anything. I feel that that comment was referencing something I said, to which I want to clear something up: I do not think all BB players are braindead, only most of them. Rather, what I was saying is I personally find playing BBs to be braindead compared to DDs. An example: When I'm loaded into a battle in a DD I start by answering the following mental checklist: What DDs do we have? What DDs do the enemy team have? Do they outspot me? What's a rough approximation of their spotting range? Do they have hydro? What is it's range? Are they USS Black (t7+ only)? What Cruisers do we have? How many radar-capable? What cruisers do the enemy have? How many radar-capable? What are their ranges? Can they stealth-radar, or get dangerously close? How many have Hydro? Are they likely to trade Hydro for DefAA? What BBs do we have? Any Missouri (T7+ only)? What BBs do the enemy have? How many have Hydro? Any Missouri? (t7+ only)? Are there any CVs? What tier are they? Can I shoot down some planes if push comes to shove? When I'm loaded into battle in a BB I start by answering the following checklist: How many DDs? Can they stealth-torp? How many BBs? Are there any Musashi/Yamato (T7+ only)? Are there any CVs? What tier? Can I shoot down their planes? ...Yeah. I really don't have to think anywhere near as hard when playing BBs. And this doesn't even take into account how much thinking I have to do mid-battle. Oh, and I'm not letting this one slip: So, team killing is perfectly acceptable if the one being killed is a raging douchecanoe? No. Just no. Under no circumstances is team killing acceptable. You are only promoting more toxicity, probably just making him even more toxic in the next battle he loads into. Toxicity just breeds more toxicity and the only way to reduce toxicity is by being the mature one and not stooping to his level. On topic: The TC doesn't really seem to understand that, while yes, Torpedoes are hard hitting, they are nowhere near as hard-hitting or as difficult to dodge as a well-aimed BB slavo. Torpedoes reload the longest of all weapon types, they also travel the slowest. This means that the DPM of a DD is actually much lower than a BB. Take Shimakaze vs Yamato: The most damaging of Shima's torps are the Mod.3s, at almost 24k per torpedo, and she can launch 15 of them in a single salvo. This is 15*24k=360k per salvo. Yamato's 18AP shells can hit for almost 15k per shell for a full-damage citadel hit and she can fire 9 in a single slavo. This is 9*15k=135k per salvo. No contest, DDs are OP, right? Shimakaze's Mod.3 torpedoes have a base reload of 153s, while Yamato reloads her guns in 30s. Well, that changes things, doesn't it? Yammy can fire her guns 5times in the time Shima needs to reload her torpedoes. 5*135k=675k damage before Shima reloads her torpedoes for a second salvo. Yeah, which ship was overpowered, again?

I also got a new rig recently. I felt particularly flushed with cash, so I even paid Alienware to build it for me.

For the first time ever (iirc) I got spite-reported in my first battle on Saturday. Went from 54karma to 53. Someone on the enemy team took massive offense to me doing a grand total of 1400 damage to his already badly-damaged French t4 Cruiser and sinking him. And I know it was him, because he took great pains to flame me in chat. I remember telling him "If you're this salty at T4, I hope you never make it to the higher tiers" to which he responded with "I hope you die", so I just shot back with "Yep, that's mature". A debate then started with a couple other members of the enemy team about whether WG had buffed Yuubari (the ship I was playing), after which I confirmed it was either personal skill or my 19point Harekaze captain. I tend to find I don't get reported very much. The times it drops the worst is after I've been particularly salty myself, but it hasn't dropped a great deal for quite some time.

Something about seeing a helicopter land on the aft of the Yamato is just awesome. Also, that carrier - pretty certain it must be a refit Taihou or something - are those jets on the flight deck? -

I get the feeling he meant 'tank girl' in the same way we are referring to characters like Shimakaze (KanColle) as 'Ship Girls'. In which case I have no clue as to what he's referring. Especially if he can't be more helpful than a single 'no'. -
According to an earlier screen, it looks like it's on the redesigned North map, too.

I don't have Khabarovsk, yet, but I've been having fun screwing around in Podvoisky of all things. I've had a surprising amount of success in her, playing her the way I expect Khab would play (i.e. open water gunboating, speed boosting and dancing around incoming shells). Would you advise me against buying this ship?
-
As per usual, we can expect @LastButterfly to be the one to correct everyone.

All shipfus have a reload stat. The higher the reload stat, the lower the amount of time it takes to reload the guns. -
I'd like to point out that Sims can break 40knt with a speed flag naturally and is highly manuvrable. If you choose Spood Beest instead of DFAA you can do some crazy open-water gunboating that is sure to piss people off. I once played a game of Touhou with a Bismarck's secondaries.

I have seen CC used before, but at the same time I've seen CC used generally for 'Cruiser', as in not being specific between Light or Heavy. I think CC (as in Battlecruiser) might have been used by Americans, but as the yanks never really built any it doesn't really get used. It's probably safest just to run with BC.
-
Am I dumb? As I've never noticed this sign before. What map is this on, and roughly what grid position?
-
Personally, seeing as OP can also stand for 'overpowered', I prefer to use 'TC' for 'Topic Creator' to refer to the person who created the thread. OT stands for 'On Topic' in a similar vein. Azur Lane (hardly an authority on the subject, I know) uses BC for 'Battlecruiser' and BM for 'Monitor'. Not that there are any monitors in WoWS, so you don't really have to worry about that one. 'Snowflake' actually refers to each snowflake being unique and extremely fragile. Thus it's a derogatory term referring to people wanting to be treated as special and unique, while coming across as hurt or offended when people tell them to shut up as no-one cares. CA is indeed Heavy Cruiser. CL is likewise Light Cruiser. The term does not refer to armour, rather to armament - CLs typically get 150-155mm (6in) guns, whilst CAs get 200-205mm (8in) guns. AC is a rare term, and I've never seen it used on these boards. The most universally accepted hull classification is the USN one - CV for Fleet Carrier and CVL for Light Carrier. With the advent of subamrines being added to the game, I feel like pointing out the USN hull classification is SS for Subs. Interesting fact: With various nations experimenting with different ship designs to give themselves an edge during warfare, in particular the Japanese attempts to maximise their air power in the wake of the Battle of Midway, we also have portamenteau classifications for various unique ships. The Ise-class Aviation Battleships, for example, get BBV and the Sentoku-class Aircraft-carrying Submarines get SSV.
