I thought I'd share this to see what kind of opinions my fellow WoWS forumites have about it. Personally, I quite like the idea. It's clever and uses a famous template to easily engage the audience.

@MRGTB You seem to act as though your 60+k damage games in Asashio are actually impressive, and then only share the bare minimum of results screens, where it's clear you did basically nothing the whole match. Show us your position on the team lists. Show us your base XP. Show us your damage breakdown, including all spotting and potential damage. Show us how little you are actually earning per battle with all premium consumables equipped. You did exactly what in this battle? Hit enemy ships five times with torpedoes? Congrats, I can do that with Derpzki. Hit targets with shells a grand total of 32 times? Whoopdiefreakindoo. Spotted targets three times? What? You want a medal for doing the bare minimum? Sunk one ship? Well, I suppose you were only four away from a kraken!/sarcasm And scratched the paintwork off an ally Tirpitz. No-one cares. Had you actually sunk an ally you would've recieved much worse in terms of fine. I think it's time for my little meme to rear it's ugly head again:

I know. I just can't be bothered holding onto four scrappable ships when its going to be months before we even get a fifth fleet I can stick Zep in. Especially when said fifth fleet is most likely going to go to a full RN fleet first anyway. And I don't bother limit breaking ships that I'm either not intending to use or whom give me nothing in return (via collection), so my bulins are pretty much safe for the time being. I just wanted her because she's cute. If you marry her, she asks you to give her a fitting name, which is really cute (and meta). If you have 6k and don't have Torpitz, get Torpitz. Otherwise...Iunno, get Gneisenau and some dorm furniture. I'm proud to say I got everything from the exchange - even the stuff I didn't need, like more oil and candy canes. I really like that loading screen pic. Probably because it's one of the few fanart pics of Houston around... A strong second-favourite, behind the one with the dark-skinned girls. Why do you keep calling us 'smoll'? Not annoyed, just genuinely curious. -

Seven. Scrapped all but three - one to keep and two for retrofits. I also managed to get two Prinz, two Illustrious and a Sandy. Yet, no Z46. -
That's a good anime regardless of season. I would recommend @CptBarney start with Part 3, however, as the Jojo's anime this season is Part 5 and several things (such as what the hell are stands?) are glossed over. You can skip parts 1 and 2 as the things introduced in both parts are not really touched upon again. ...Apart from DIO who's role in the story is never really forgotten...

Looks like something straight out of Persona/SMT: Good for you, I've just had my final 10-build of the event (I'm down to 84 cubes from 200!) and still no Z46. FML I find that an ironic statement coming from someone who's screenname is 'Soviet'. Welcome to the thread! -

Hey guys. Just popping in here to quickly state something I feel I need to mention. Those of you who are reading this who were here this time last year may remember that I sent all the regular users of the shipgirl thread santa crates as a way of saying thank you for all the fun in 2017. Well, this year I'm afraid I will not be doing the same thing. This is not a financial problem, rather this is a principals problem. As the containers have a chance of containing Asashio, I refuse to purchase any with real money. I will also be advising any considering buying me any containers to save your money, as I will be rejecting them on principal. The thought is appreciated, but I don't want WG to recieve any money for what I consider a toxic addition to the game. Have a Happy Christmas and a Wonderful New Year. -Captain LOZFFVII -

I noticed the new art, still doesn't explain why the old design has basically nothing before the new art. And even then, most fanart on danbooru appears to be of the old art. After the new art announcement! -

#1 Misspelling #2 Not what you said earlier: So, it's more like 1 in every 21 pictures has AL Takao. Which is still much better than KC Takao. And anyway, you can't really claim ALRJ 'just came into existence', as she's the boss of chapter 4-3. And I know this all too well, as I spent at least a week a couple of months ago grinding that level trying to get Erebus to drop (ironically, she dropped from one of the levels of Visitors Dyed in Red instead). She doesn't just appear in 4-3 either, I think she appears as early as chapter 2. But I'm not trying to argue about KCRJ's higher popularity, the causes behind it, or whatever; I'm more surprised at ALRJ having not had any art uploaded to danbooru before 2 weeks ago. Which is probably the bigger cause of her apparent lack of popularity on the site. Agian. Not trying to argue that being out longer is definitely an advantage. Just that ALRJ having so few is surprising. Just that ALRJ being so recent is so surpising. -

Actually, if you think about those two numbers in scale, AL Takao is a lot more popular than KC Takao. Think about it this way: KC has been out in Japan for five/six years? And their Takao only managed 3k. AL has been out in Japan for a little over 1 year and already has 1k. If we assume an exponential growth over time (given more exposure=more players=more exposure via word-of-mouth - a snowball effect) then AL Takao is going to be way more popular than KC Takao ever was. Anyway, I think part of my shock was just that KCRJ was 6.2k in the first place. That and I'm now just confused why the earliest ALRJ pic I can find is two weeks ago, even though she's been in the game a lot longer than that. -

Dood, I seriously hope that gun's for shooting yourself, because it was pretty damn obvious the USN St Louis would come before the cheese-eating surrender monkey. In other news, I never really bothered to look it up before, but it seems AL Ryuujou is much less popular than KC Ryuujou. EDIT: Hol'up. I just checked the upload dates for the Ryuujou (AL) artwork on Danbooru and it's telling me the earliest was...13 days ago? WTF? I know her art's been in the game longer than that, hell her art's been in the ENGLISH version longer than that. And Danbooru's telling me they've only just started accepting ALRJ art? The heck is that about? -

Nier:Automata is good. Like, REALLY REALLY GOOD. Probably one of the best games I've ever played. BlazBlue is........even more convoluted (plot-wise) than MGS. And that's saying something. You've...heard the music for the smash series? There's a lot of it. Given that it's mostly remixes from various video games, as well as some original compositions and medleys. You should totally play MGS. At the very least the first three in the series. Really scratches my stealth game itch when Hitman doesn't cut it. On the subject of ignorance, I met someone recently who, when I started trying to explain to him about our (UK) history with the Nepalese Ghurkas (it's a long story...), when I said our fleet defeated the Spanish Armada he responded with "Was that during World War 2?". My head hit the desk. What? Nobody does that. No, the subscriptions that the console makers ask you to pay is purely for online-related services. As in online multiplayer or cloud save back-up (one downside to the Nintendo Switch I will admit to is that you cannot backup your save data any other way than by the subscription service...but then Ninty's subscription is the cheapest of the lot at less than £20 per year). If you don't want to play multiplayer online games you don't need the subscription (unless you're on switch and want to backup your save data that is...). No, I found it too boring editing videos, so I'm not interested in doing anymore on youtube, not unless something really grabs my attention for PS4 sharing... My blog? I'll get back to it when I'm ready. Now's not the time. I'm aware of Mutsuki's xmas skin, and I do find it adorable, but I'm not interested in purchasing it. And if you were talking about editng my avatar, I can't be bothered (although I have considered it). If I was going to go for a more season-appropriate avatar, I'd probably swap into 'Winter Festival' Fae from Fire Emblem Heroes: Arigatou gozaimashita. -

Better responses would not have started with 'meh'.*edited* But I'll let it slide, just because I'm sick and can't be arsed. Nier:Automata, MGR Revengence, Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and Dragon Ball FighterZ are all available on Steam, btw. I think I've heard bad things about poor stability of the Nier:Automata PC port, though. And it might be better to play the Metal Gear Solid series, rather than just the MGR spin-off (MGS is stealth-action, while MGR is action-with-a-dash-of-stealth). Speaking of Metal Gear Solid, Solid Snake is also playable in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Yes. The genetically-engineered super espionage agent from the movie-like game franchise with incomprehensible plot is a playable fighter in the family-friendly brawler. I am not joking. Amusing, I don't play any of those genres, yet I've heard about all of those games. It's like, impossible not to have heard about them. Which just beggars belief that you haven't heard of Nier:Automata, given it was one of about seven games that everyone was talking about last year. Internet isn't free anyway, just ask your service provider. You don't need to sign up to PS+ or Nintendo Online to access the storefronts anyway, and PlatinumGames' games are normally single-player experiences. Sawright. If it helps, my name stands for "Legend Of Zelda Final Fantasy VII", which is a name I orignally signed into Youtube back when it was first launched and at the time I was really into both The Legend of Zelda (The Wind Waker) and the Final Fantasy 7 spin-offs. FYI, everything uploaded onto my yt channel is trash I made when I was younger, so don't let it colour your perseption of me. I also have a (dormant) blog, if there's one thing on there I'd like you to ignore it's the one about Team America. Also, just calling me 'Loz' is fine. -

Okay, you clearly need to come out from under your rock. Cygames are the people behind several popular Japanese 'Mobages' (Mobile Games), including Rage of Bahamut, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls and Granblue Fantasy. (I'm not all that surprised if you haven't heard of them, tbh, but I still need to explain their relevance) PlatinumGames are behind some of the finest hack'n'slash action titles of the past 8 years. Including the Bayonetta series, Neir:Automata and Metal Gear Rising: Revengence. (For the interest of anyone debating getting Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Bayonetta is a playable fighter in the game. Yes. The sexy witch from the 18-rated game is playable in a family-friendly brawler. I am not joking.) Arc System Works are behind some some of the best 2d fighting games of the last...20 years (iirc). They are most famous for their work on the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue franchises, but they have also worked on Persona 4: Arena (Ultimax) and Dragon Ball FighterZ. So, I hope that's got you all caught up on the serious gaming pedigree we're talking about here. EDIT: Like, holy crap, doods. I just took a glance down at ASW's list of games on that Wikipedia page. Gouls'n'Ghosts? Michael Jacksons' Moonwalker? BATTLETOADS? Sonic Drift 1/2? These guys have seriously been around the block. -

1) The cats, much like MANY other things in AL CN/JP, are not yet implemented in EN. 2)They'll come...eventually. Honestly, as much as I love Emile Bertin's artist, if they come before Yat Sen (and the Hai's retrofits) I will probably be a little miffed. In other news: Cygames X Platinum Games' action-RPG Granblue Fantasy Relink finally got a new gameplay trailer and official website. The game looks gorgeous, and the website...IS IN ENGLISH! http://relink.granbluefantasy.jp/en/ Also, we got a announcement that Cygames are partnering up with Arc System Works (yes, that Arc System Works) to bring us Granblue Fantasy Versus! Website in ENGLISH, too! https://versus.granbluefantasy.jp/en/ Charlotta confirmed playable is a day 1 buy for me...unless ASW decides to DLC the crap out of major characters like with BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Good news for my PC Master Race friends, too! Cygames are looking into doing (possible) Steam releases for the games! Everybody's Happy! -
Pretty certain Sun Tzu never mentioned anything about tactics for when you have already died. Stupid statement of the week. Stats are facts. Stats don't lie. My stats are above average, meaning I am better than the average potato, but I still have a long way to go to be 'good'. Perhaps you need to check your own stats to see what they are telling you. Fact of the matter is, you have no idea what you are talking about and you're just spinning yourself in circles trying to make yourself not look stupid. Dunning-kruger, for the uninitiated: In layman's terms: someone too stupid to realise how stupid he is. So, Yaskaraxx, how does it look from up there at the top of "Mount Stupid"? Anyway, I'm tired of supervising the 'child', can someone else take over for me? I can only hope that the way Yaskie tries to defend Asashio is enough to tell others that she just plain isn't a good ship.
-
Check my stats, they're not hidden. I have no Montana, and in fact I'm mostly just dark green (above average). In fact, I'm a DD main. A DD main that would be more than willing to meet you in my Harugumo, Shimakaze or Fletcher, given how terrible in a knifefight Asashio is. Actually, why not meet me in my Harekaze, then we'll see how 'great' Asashio is. Go ahead, make my day, punk.
-
All that drivel told me was that you have no idea what's even written in The Art of War. You're just using the title as a buzzword to try and make yourself seem more intelligent. Dunning-kruger effect at it's finest.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with making a full KM fleet with GZ as the flagship. Just gotta get some more fleet comp slots... I want one more fleet just so I can have a full RN fleet. Nope, CA. As in vanguard/frontline. A CA that can shoot like a BB. From the front line. EDIT: Also, can I just point out that I didn't think spending gems on port slots was worth it...because I thought it was 200gems for 1 slot! I was going to spend 1000 gems for 5 slots, and when I went to purchase the first one I realised it said "10 slots" in the description. I can easily afford fifty extra slots, when I thought I was only getting five! EDIT2: Also, I recently purchased my second ring, so I'm now proudly practicing polyamory with both Hai sisters (that's legal in China, right?). Now I'm just waiting for Yat Sen to be added to the EN game (which I'm assuming will be coinciding with the Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year). Stuff from reddit:
