It begins. Press F to pay respects: F. Panocek, have you ever heard of Junk Rare? Sandy (San Diego) is the Azur Lane Equivalent of it. She has amazing AA abilities, but mediocre stats across the board otherwise. She has a retrofit that turns her into a DPM God, but currently that's only available on the CN(Chinese) and JP(Japanese) servers. Just a fair warning, but other SRs that were good, but have suffered from pretty bad powercreep are Hood and Warspite. Warspite being another SR with retrofit on CN/JP servers. Illustrious is still good, but limited in use as she's more about AA and you don't really need her level of AA until worlds 11 and 12 (not currently available in EN). Good news everyone! Javelin is getting an Oath Skin! Now we just need to wait for Laffey and Z23 to get Oath Skins to complete the Starter Quartet. -
If you're not interested in listening to what others are telling you, then we're not interested in listening to you. You had to make separate accounts to play on other servers, correct? As far as WG is concerned, those other accounts are different people and as such any premium account time or premium ships you purchase are only valid for the account you bought them on - i.e. they will not be shared between accounts. Most of us are fine with only having one account, so we have no need to share premium bonuses with other accounts.

Watch Clannad and ToraDora!, but make sure you bring some Kleenex Extra Strong for those manly tears you'll be shedding. I thought I'd share some Manga I've been getting into on Manga Rock. Yancha Gal no Anjou-san a romantic comedy about a highschool nerd who starts falling for the popular girl who teases him daily. Like Karakai Jouzu Takagi-san (Teasing Master Miss Takagi), but with more mature characters. Also like Please Don't Bully Me, Nagatoro-san (Ijiranaide Nagatoro-san) but with less S&M lite. Gokushufudou: Way of the House Husband a comedy manga about a former yakuza 'cleaner' adjusting to life as a house husband. Don't forget to play Funk Goes On over all of the action scenes! Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! (Jahy-sama Will Not be Discouraged!) comedy about the Demon Lords No.2 after the demon realm is destroyed and she is left powerless in the body of a little girl in the human realm. A review on Myanimelist sums it up best: Finally, I Shaved, Then I Brought a Highschool Girl Home a bittersweet manga about a salaryman who gets dumped on his first date with his boss, gets drunk, then on his way home ends up taking in a Highschool runaway. The story makes reference to sex, but the main character makes it clear he's not interested in the girl and instead tries to show her compassion (which she implies is not something she's used to). This one's updated once-a-month, so don't expect chapters to be released all that often.

She's still being wasted on @CptBarney's team though, right? -

Doesn't PoW buff Eagle Union (USS) ships? You are seriously wasting her on that team. Sadly, no. You guys are getting EN and JP/CN confused. If @Taschkent_ missed an even to get Monarch (the WoWS crossover ship), then they have been playing on the Chinese (CN) or Japanese (JP) server. @CptBarney is playing on the EN server, where the WoWS crossover hasn't run yet. Belfast is considered a close second to Sandy in terms of being a 'common' Super Rare. Although she's also considered more useful. Still more than nothing. My fleets, if anyone is interested: -
Yes, apparently my brain zeroed in on the Kamikaze T7 bit and completely forgot to read the rest of your comment. Totally an error on my part.

Sorry, I'm going to parse down everything you wrote to just the bit that I actually have an answer for (I'm late to leave work and I really want to go home). Honestly, I feel that forced same-tier divs shouldv'e been a thing years ago. If under these forced-same-tier-divs the two ships that aren't a CV cannot find themselves up against +2 competition...well, I'm fine with that (speaking as a 99% solo player). But so long as divs can be made across tiers we need to make it so that the higher tier ship's MM still trumps any CV-specific rules, and that way the T6 (as an example) CV could possibly end up in a T8 battle (against a T8 CV, we don't want to be ruining the day of any solo T6 CVs, or divs that don't try to game the system) - with any luck, this will discourage anyone who is thinking of gaming the system in this way.

Aparently, they're crap. You have to drop either the secondary mounts or the AA gun in order to slot floatplane bombers, which are all universally not worth reducing your overall BB power for. Of all the people to appear on this thread and state that they'd started playing AzurLane, I never expected to see Panocek.Welcome, by-the-way. SSR (gold bg) are very rare. You can check your chances of pulling rarities by tapping the little [?] icon on the build option you're building from, this will also tell you if there's a rate-up on certain ships. You've also been blessed by RNGsus himself, as Enterprise is one of the most powerful ships in the game (a combination of high base stats and a skill with 70% chance of doubling your strike damage - when max level - will do that to you). However, with RNGsus blessing you so hard in your first hours, do not be surprised if you can't build anything other than San Diego for a while. Funnily enough, Tashkent is neither. She's more like a mid-to-late teenager than loli or onee-sama. But, hey, I've got a couple of waifus that don't match my usual tastes, such as Tiki from Fire Emblem, Tamamo from Fate/Extra or Galko-chan. -
Uh? Was that a misclick? As an owner of Kamikaze, I can say having her uptiered (unchanged) to T6 would be...iffy. Especially given the prevalence of 9-11.7km radar at T8, and given her torpedoes only travel up to 7km. Uptiered to T7? What are you smoking and can I have some? If radar wasn't bad enough at T8, it increases to a ridiculous amount at T9. Missouri with 9.3km radar? Black with 7.something radar? Kronshtadt? I don't care if you hate the ship, uptiering two tiers is just ridiculous. Coming from a DD main perspective, you have T6 DDs (the stealthiest of which has 6km detection range) going up against T8 DDs with access to the concealment mod (the stealthiest with 5.4km detection). Not to mention the improvements in DD gunpower between T6 and T8. And then you have the first appearance of the VMF 11.7km radar. While the worst a T5 DD has to worry about is the 1-in-100 games USS Indianapolis/USS Atlanta/HMS Belfast that show up. Also comparitively, the stealthiest T5 DD is 5.4km compared with T7 with 6.1km. Actually, I dare say T6vsT8 is worse than T5vsT7 across pretty much all classes, due to the sudden appearance of the fifth mod slot.

Others have suggested giving CVs a specific MM rule, in the form that a CV is always in the middle of the MM spread, but we still keep the +/-2 for other classes. T6 CVs can only see T5s and T7s, T8 CVs can only see T7s and T9s, T10 CVs can only see T9s. This should reduce the number of battles where the CV player simply cannot influence the battle because +2 AA is too powerful. So, if you're in a T7 cruiser, you will see either a T6 CV or a T8 CV, but never both in the same battle. Having the MM act like this would also have the added benefit of reducing the number of T10 battles other T8s end up in, so less whiners there. Also, having MM brackets like these would help with balancing AA across all ship types, as it's quite simple to go "All T6s are balanced within tier; All T7s are a little bit better than T6 but a little bit worse than T8; All T8s are balanced within tier". Personally, I quite like this idea and think it would be a big step towards a CV/Surface ship balance.

Yuubari is equipped with the DefAA consumable. That, and she's small and nimble, more like a DD than a CL. She's actually a little bit smaller than Khabarovsk. BUT she has a citadel, like a cruiser, so if you can hit her with AP bombs she will suffer.
-
And where exactly did I equate hit-for-hit? Torpedoes are easy to dodge, have long travel times, have long load times and to compensate they do more damage per hit. BBs shells on the other hand reload quicker, travel faster and are more difficult to dodge, thus they do less damage per hit. The point I was trying to make was the TC was trying to make torpedoes sound like some kind of god-tier weapon that beats out all other weapons, when in fact guns are far more consistent and far easier to use. Not to mention the fact that he was either outright lying to make his point or didn't know what he was talking about.

You could always try writing SX. Or even just spacing it like Ess ex. -
What exactly is the point of asking that? To show how smart you are? I could ask you if you know what 3d5 is, without looking it up, but it wouldn't really prove anything. All it proves is that you have a different knowledge base than others. Not only that, but it's completely irrelevant to the topic of CVs.

@Anthoniusii Honestly, most of what you have written reeks of 'L2P' (learn to play). That's actually impossible, assuming I've understood what your (very poor) English is trying to say here. DDs do not just magically appear within 2km of you, and they most certainly cannot launch hundreds of torpedoes in 90seconds. That is also completely impossible. 100 concealment is only possible with a surface detection of 5km or lower. There are only three DDs in the game capable of a 100 concealment rating: Tachibana (IJN T2 premium), Smith (USN T2 premium) and Vampire (Commonwealth T3 premium). By comparison, Shimakaze's lowest possible surface detection is 5.6km, giving her a concealment rating of 96. You know those numbers next to the torpedo reload? Those are in seconds, so where it says Shima's torps reload in 150seconds? That's NOT 1.50minutes. That's 2.50minutes. Shimakaze gets 8 reloads in one battle, which adds up to 120 torpedoes. Now compare that number with a BB gun that reloads in 30seconds. Yamato, for example gets 40 reloads in one battle, each of her turrets has 3guns, so that's 360 shells fired over the course of one battle. Do I even need to remind you that it's a hell of a lot easier to hit with guns than torpedoes? Take any decent Shimakaze player, you will see in his stats that their torpedo hitrate is <10%, given that Shima gets about 120 torpedoes away in one battle, that means they're landing 12 torpedoes per battle. Take any decent Yamato player and check out their main armament hitrate by comparison... Honestly, when you don't even really understand what is actually possible in the game, I'm rather glad you're leaving. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Yes. When your CV has been sunk, you get an extra 2:30 of flight time to either carry out your attack run or have your planes shot down.
-
RTS=Real Time Strategy. PTS≠RTS. I was talking about the old CV gameplay. You are incorrect. I am someone who always wanted to play CVs as some of my favourite WW2 ships were CVs, but I suck at RTS gameplay (I can't do multitasking). Still meant I had to suffer being cross-dropped and being at the mercy of one team having the Unicum CV and the other having the potato. Yes, truly a balanced ship class and not at all broken [/sarcasm]. Also your last sentence made zero sense to me.
-
You mean the minority-within-a-minority of 'CV players who think RTS CVs were actually a balanced class'? Yeah, sure, I guess you guys would disagree with my statement.
-
The ironic part of that statement, pretty much everyone whether they like the rework or not agrees that pre-rework RTS carriers were in fact broken.

I spent the whole weekend grinding for her. And I'm not even particularly interested in her, just wanted to get her while I could. At least I could grab her to make up for no Z46 or Deutschland in the Divergent Chessboard event. No, Monarch is not available on EN, when will she be? Whenever we get the Research tab (not yet implemented). Yorktown retrofit/skin? Dunno. Dood, just check the r/AzureLane subreddit or the wiki, you'll find everything you need to know there, stop asking your smoll sempais questions they don't have answers for. By-the-by, I got Yat Sen over the weekend, too. So I'm now express levelling her using the 1200oil comission ready to be put into my China meme team. -
1) The poll has obvious bias in the options. Having one of the options list 'care-free CV play' is making it sound more passive-aggressive. This is speaking as someone who thinks the F-to-return-planes thing should be removed. 2) It's a throwback to the earlier testing phases, when the CV player had to manually activate their consumables. It was basically an "oh sh!t" button for when they realised their ship was under attack, allowing them to quickly jump back to the carrier to defend themselves. Obviously, it is now completely defunct given all of the CV defenses are automated. Did you know? In an earlier test iteration, CVs had the option of switching between DCP and a DRP. I tried DRP, but it really wasn't worth losing your DCP for.

Ugh. I've just spent an evening playing Hosho. The good: at least I actually have the skill necessary to play CVs now (I'm terrible at RTSs). The bad: Hosho. I've worked out how to hit citadels with the db's, which is making them my go-to for dealing with all ships besides DDs. The tb's are bad, and you can't convince me otherwise. Once I got a glitch that said the torp was armed, but it hit and did nothing. T5 AA is enough to put a stop to anything the Hosho wants to do. In one battle I made no less than five attempts at an enemy Texas, all were failures. In two other battles I made multiple attempts on enemy October Revolutions and did nothing more than mildly inconvenience them. Oh, and when I said above I've worked out how to hit citadels? Shame the damage is so minscule as to be not a threat to cruisers. One battle I had the opportunity to score six citadels on a stationary St.Louis and he still didn't really seem to care (still had about 40% of his health left). I want to keep trying, but at the moment Hosho is trying my patience, so I'm gonna go to bed and try again tomorrow to see if I fare any better. Honestly, though, if new players are expected to grind through ships like Hosho to play CVs, I feel sorry for them. At least I have enough FXP to skip her.
