Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
LOZFFVII replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
*Sigh* Okay, at the risk of making it look like I'm berating you: Can you just google something for yourself instead of just asking us questions that we're just going to end up googling for you? We don't know anymore about the Azur Lane anime than you do at this point. If we learn anything, you can be damn well sure we'll post it here first. Cut your sempais some slack, please? *Sigh* I'm pretty certain she's been mentioned several times on this very thread, too. Here you go; a free gift from your sempai who had to Google something else for you: A complete list of all shipgirls in Azur Lane. This list includes all drop-only shipgirls (of which Awoo/Yuudachi is one). -

I only skimmed it, and couldn't find anything about stars. But I guess you just meant it's something to do with clans? If so, fair enough. -

I'm just surprised that Omaha didn't use her hydro. If she did, I would've been dead-to-rights (not that it would've mattered, the whole match was forgone for your team at that point). I can only assume her hydro must've been on cooldown. Star? Do you mean from a campaign? -

Just came out of a win in my Shinonome to find @Seiranko on the other team playing with his waifu. (literally didn't notice until you typed in chat *tehepero*) Shame about the multiple disconnects, if it makes you feel better, you can check out my replay to work out what happened to the rest of your team. 20190310_161054_PJSD706-Shinonome_08_NE_passage.wowsreplay -
I'm only at Leberecht Maass, and that 6.9km concealment was a nope right from the get-go. Facing T8 DDs with <6km concealment with Lebe? Nope. Hydro is nice and all, but the RN DDs have a nice long 3.5min (with mod) for self-defence. Where was I going with this? Sorry, I've gone off topic.

I've been practising. Turns out a lot of the old dodging tricks still work, in fact maybe even a little better than before as with players having live control of their aircraft they are more prone to underestimating your speed and maneuvrability. CV comes at you with divebombers - turn in sharply towards the DBs. DBs are the worst to get decent hits with as you cannot 'drop early' as easy as the others. The one exception is with RN carpet bombers - you do not want to turn in to those, as the spread is stretched parallel to the flight of the aircraft, meaning you're just making it more likely they'll all hit you. If an RN CV comes after you with carpet bombers you need to turn 90o to him to present the smallest profile. CV comes at you with torpedo bombers - again, turn sharply towards the TBs. Chances are good you'll force them to drop early to have any chance of hitting, resulting in having the worst spread and increasing the likelihood the torpedoes will fail to arm before hitting. CV comes at you with rockets - this one's a little trickier; I do still try to turn in towards the attack, as by doing so you can try to force them to launch early (like with TBs). However, the random dispersion on the rockets is the biggest problem as you can still end up getting hit no matter what you do. I will probably need to do a bit more practising to work out what to do with rockets.

You're picking hairs about someone's use of language when they might not even speak English all that well. (And judging by 'Location: Scotland' I'd wager he probably doesn't.) It's clear he means that the other players on the red team stayed in the fight. The red Lex was just pathetic to give up and suicide halfway through.

World of Warships: Legends. Course for Early Access
LOZFFVII replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
If I'm wrong, where's your evidence? Five weeks. If everyone does it, the live version of the ships you were trying to test are going to be OP because everyone built themselves to be extremely anti-whateveritwasyouweretesting. The data is skewed and not at all useful. *Edit* I kept my regular builds. Because I realised it was more important to get to know how things had changed by comparing like with like. It might have been a little frustrating at first, but with the constant hotfixes it became manageable. -

*Edit* This is your personal tinfoilhat theory. It's not based on evidence. Honestly the only thing I can tell you is that the control scheme as it currently sits would feel bass ackwards on a controller. Push up on the left stick to speed up, push down to slow down, left/right to turn left/right, tilt left/right on the right stick to fine tune your aim - all weird, I'm sat here fiddling with an old GCN controller and it just feels off (maybe I'm too used to playing Starfox on this thing). *Edit* -
I'm only as far as Hoshou, but I've started getting reliable hits on DDs with my torpedoes. I can only hope that I can keep on using torpedoes effectively in this way. Kamikaze's AA only has a measly 1km range. Even before 0.8.0, her greatest weakness was being unable to defend herself against planes. EDIT: On topic: I (and a few others) feel that planes should not be able to use sixth sense. Before 0.8.0 planes did not know they were detected and thus DDs were able to avoid being perma-spotted just by keeping an eye on the location of planes and their detection by air range. On more than one occasion I have been able to sink enemy DDs just by triangulating the fact that I knew my planes were detected and I knew that a cap was being contested. Sixth sense on planes is too strong.

I don't look up people's stats, but as soon as I read that, I knew what kind of player you were. You are the sort who believes they are good at the game, that there is nothing they can do to better themselves and that the rest of the team always lets them down. I'm going to guess that your WR is lower than 50%...maybe closer to 45%? Maybe a cursory glance over your stats at https://wows-numbers.com/players/ will appear mostly orange/red in colour? In short, you are not the sort of player who should be passing judgement on what others are capable of in the game.

... Can someone tell this person the definition of 'AI', please? We don't hit mountains or fly into ships not because of 'AI' but rather because the planes have a set flightpath for those specific interactions. It has nothing to do with 'Artificial Intelligence'. My drawing skills nothwithstanding, all of these interactions have set flightpaths that the game engine just sets the planes at, just like how all of the ships in the game are set to float on the water and not three feet above it. There's no 'AI' involved, unless you think ships staying glued upright to the ocean is also somehow dictated by the 'AI'.
-
You seem to be confused by the concept of using both the mouse and keyboard for controlling your planes. It's simple: use A and D when you're in 'travel mode' to quickly evade AA fire and change where you want your planes to go, use the mouse when you've selected a target to attack to 'fine tune' your attack run and reduce the reticle bloom. I don't play that game, so: Please tell me how the 'AI' controls part of the attack? Because I'm pretty sure you're mistaken about that part.
-
You use the A and D keys for hard turns and use the mouse for fine movement.
-
You do know you can do fine movements with the mouse, right?

Hi, I've never served on a warship, but I felt like jumping in here to say that everyone who is serving/has served in their country's armed forces have my respect and admiration.

This, in so many ways. One of the main defences DDs had under the old system was that CVs didn't know if their planes were spotted by unseen enemies. (this coming from someone who didn't like the old system, but enjoys the new one). I'd actually enjoy that, and not just because I'm grinding the IJN line, but also because I intend to grind the RN line and I feel like they have a few too many gimmicks all in one.

...Because no-one posted anything for more than 24hours? I'll have you know that this thread has gone quiet for almost a whole week on a couple of occasions. Still hasn't died. A little bit of non-ship-related news today. You guys remember this? Well, I recently found out that in early February Platinum Games' and Cygames' contract came to an end and PG have stopped working on Granblue Fantasy Re;Link. I...honestly don't know how to feel about this. I mean, I've wanted to play a GBF action-RPG since this game was announced a couple years ago, and with the game going back to Cygames it is technically going to the right place, but Platinum being the developers was a little bit more than just the icing on the cake - they were the Black Forest Cherries in the Gataeu, so to speak. I can only hope that Cygames can still finish off what's left of the remaining 40% that was not finished as of January and the game still turns out to be decent. I think I will be pretty pissed if it ends up like Sword Art Online: Lost Song (Christ that game was grindy and boring - and the AI was stupid as ). -

Oh yeah. I must have missed that, although I remember Hiryuu as the IJN alt T8, so I must've assumed WG'd do the same with the USN line. There you go, @CptBarney, there is hope for you, yet. Please don't bring the bullplop of the rest of the forum here. I lurk here most of the time to avoid said bullplop. No, my reaction to that [edited] is this: -

Quoting from the TV Tropes trivia page for WoWS: I think if she ends up in-game it will be as a premium. Sorry to burst your bubble. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

Literally all of the things she says in the song are ripped striaght from the game, so you can find all of their translations here: https://kancolle.fandom.com/wiki/Yuudachi You didn't even need to spend the little effort you did. But, here a thankyou for trying anyway: In other news, I literally just found out today that our favourite Poi/Awoo bote is coming to WoWS as a T7 premium. She's going to be a day-one Admiral bundle purchase for me and I will proceed to spam the in-game chat and this forum with pois for a year, with only two possible exceptions: WG give her PA DWTs - I will most likely grumble and buy a cheaper package than Admiral. WG give her Asashio DWTs - I will quit the game indefinitely. And I'm not joking about that second one. Try me, WG. -

I didn't want to do this, but it's been bugging me for a while: It's just Grenville, not Greenville. Gren to rhyme with hen, rather than Green the colour of grass. Coincidentally I have also retrofitted Langley today. I'm also only a few more purple blueprints from Bogue's. And I just discovered today that Las Vegas, Nevada and Okla-homer's retrofits are available, so I'm working on getting them to level 80 (not to hard for Homer, as I already had her at level 70 for the Pearl's Tears collection and Viva Las Vegas was already at 41 because she was my first battleship before upgrading to something better). I only have two DD retrofits left (Fortune and Kamikaze, but I don't even have Kamikaze yet...) and I'm working on getting the various cruisers up to their maximum retrofit-required levels (apart from Jintsuu, as I'm not even up to chapter 10 yet - I can imagine she's going to be a pain in the arse as a 10-4 drop only). -

I have no idea what it says either, I just found it browsing the comments on AL reddit one day with the related phrase "Touch the fish". *shrugs* When you haven't had a significant other ever you start becoming willing to accept just about anything. Although to be honest, I think I've desired to be the sub to a dom for a long time. Having said that, I'm not stupid enough to put up with actual abuse. With regards to Ajax, her bullying feels more playful. She even outright states she only goes so far with you: Anyway, in all honesty Ajax's teasing doesn't feel that different to Sims' and Albacore's, at least to me. And thank you for allowing me to be stepped on. Unrelated to everything:
