Touhou Cannonball is apparently a thing. (Since October 2018, too...man I've been out of the loop) And pre-registration is up! Uhm, wat? Sorry, @Zemeritt, looks like I might have just found my Fire Emblem Heroes killer. ...Naw, who am I kidding? I can't do that to Tiki! But then, which of my three F2P games to I give up to play Touhou Cannonball? Anyway, in all seriousness I'm probably not going to be jumping ship (ha!) to a Touhou-themed F2P game until it is available in Eigo (English [Language] in Japanese). And given all of the trailers on Youtube for said Touhou Cannonball appear to be region-locked, I don't think we'll be getting it in the west anytime soon. -
@CPL_Sivi The problem with this 'style' of Shimakaze play is it feels extremely passive, and if the enemy team is not cowed by your "walls of skill" then there isn't a lot you can do. And if the enemy CV wants you dead, you're gonna die, just like with all other DDs. There's also the issue of if the enemy push on your flank crumbles (or even if the enemies on the opposite flank fall) and the enemy ends up in a crossfire you run a very real risk of torpedoing your allies. I did, in another game last night, end up clipping an ally Baltimoo for 9k (he didn't sink, thankfully) all you can do then is wear the pink like a man and apologise for it.

RNGer is most definitely NOT obsolete. Her cooldown reset skill can trigger off of an airstrike that was already cooled down by the same skill, giving her the potential of infinite damage (coupled with her other skill that doubles airstrike damage). She has the potential of being the most powerful CVL in the game (and is really efficient due to her Normal-rarity oil cost, even when retro'd). Bogue is really good at ASW, but her sister (HMS Chaser) is better because of her skill (but you can only get Chaser from the Winter's Crown event). Mogami retro is really good. Furutaka retro and Kako retro are serviceable (but then, you only really want to retro them for the "asset" upgrade). -

No, actually the second EXP grind requires the first to be completed ahead of time. So, you're basically grinding 3M EXP. Have fun. -

Event? If you mean Priority Ships, they're a permanent addition to the game. -
20190506_013624_PJSD012-Shimakaze-1943_28_naval_mission.wowsreplay We're talking 0.8.3 now, but the above is a replay of me playing Shimakaze with 20km torps and the Shimakaze legendary module. I'm not claiming this was an amazing game, but I really do believe that increasing the range and playing 'safer' really helps in keeping your ship alive in this heavy CV meta. Also, the 20kms and the LegMod really do seem to be born for one-another: the nasty drop in your tube turning rate can be essentially ignored as it feels no different than trying to play a BB at sensible range. I'm not claiming I did amazingly in those screenshots (hell, I came fifth on experience earned), but I will state outright that had I not used the 20km torps, the enemy CV would've lived and I would probably have been his kraken. Any other criticisms I would make...I should've sent torps at that Tashkent's smoke. I realised it immediately after sending another wide spread towards the enemy BBs; "Oh, I should have sent them that way!" was the thought that went through my head.

Personally, I prefer to have more of a stealthfire window, so the seamines it is for me. Really, the question is academic: Do you want to launch them more often, more safely? vs Do you want to launch them more dangerously, but with better chance to hit?

I decided to go for Monarch first, then I'll go for Neptune. More just so I have excuses to play RN ships for a change. I've converted one of my main low-cost farming fleets into one with QE/DoY/Hood backline for the experience requirement. I'm not overly bothered with OPness, I just want to get the ball rolling on unlocking them. Gonna do Loon last, just so I have time to upgrade some IB cruiser skills first (I'm thinking PE/Leipzig/Karlsruhe should work, right?). -

Yeoooooowwwwwwch. Considering I already have half of those commanders, £141 is a bit steep. Let's see, Second Wave pack is £70, while base Yukikaze/Montpelier are near enough £35 each. So if I want the same thing but skipping the commanders I already have (and missing out on package bonuses) it'll cost me almost exactly the same amount... Welp, guess I'll be waiting for payday and splurging out for waifus then. While @LastButterfly is not exactly incorrect, it is a bit more nuanced and requires a little bit of knowledge how Japanese works to understand what 'nanoda' means. As such, I will be explaining it in a spoiler so you can skip if you don't care. TL;DR: Yukikaze says 'nanoda' because she's a haughty little princess. Which makes her cute. Give me a call when WG adds the Ning Hai class to the game. -

I've recently been on a little micro-spending-spree and bought some manga I've been meaning to get back to for about a year, and it got me thinking: Does anyone else have that one ongoing manga that they still read long after it went out of fashion? For me it's Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku! in Japanese (It means "Like a Gale!")). It's a rather silly gag/action manga that doesn't take itself seriously. The author (Kenjiro Hata) frequently laments how often he lapses into doing multiple-chapter arcs when he doesn't really intend for it to happen. Also, Hata is a former assistant to Kouji Kumeta, whom many may remember is the mangaka behind Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei and this is referenced in both series (most notably in both series' anime adaptations). Other than Hayate, I'm also reading Yotsuba&! which gets updated once in a blue moon. "smoll plastic thingies" Are frequently not small. I have some 1/8 scale statues in my room, they're about 8-10 inches tall. Also their prices vary, some I've paid £80-90, some closer to £150, while the smaller collectable Nendoroid figures typically cost around £40-50 (all of these prices include shipping); it really depends more on the quality of the product. Although the worst bit I find is getting slapped by customs when they actually get here. Normally you're looking at about £10-20 on import charges, but they have gone as high as £36 for a particularly big order. If you do decide to buy any, make sure you use a reputable site and treat vendors at Cons with a degree of suspicion, as there are fakes out there. Hell, I have a Nendoroid Hakurei Reimu I'm 90% certain is fake, despite getting her from J-List. Ofc, my final bit of advice is to get a full-time job before spending on figures. You really don't want to be wasting money on these things when you're still a student.

Yeah, you're going to miss out on a fair bit. Well, most of it should be repaeted at some point. No garantees on Kizuna AI collab, I'm afraid. I'm only disappointed I couldn't get Nagato or Yoizuki before the end of the last event. I even bought Nagato's banned-from-reddit skin to try and lure her in. -

I've been away, but not intentionally. I'll put the story in a spoiler so you guys can ignore it if you don't care. Anyway... It took me a little while to get it, but the whole: With the fact that the 'alert' icon on the map screen looks like a music box is actually a reference to Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (I realised this after I'd been jumped one-too-many times by her being on my screen after leaving the game on auto, you still need to tap her even on auto). The second stage I think is just an oblique reference to the fact that she's a virtual idol as well as vtuber. The fourth stage is a shoutout to Azur Lane as a whole (she's a giant looking down at/commanding her favourite shipfus in battle), but I have no idea what the fifth stage/Black is about. I actually totally forgot about how to get Bel-chan until after I completed all of the stages of the Kizuna AI collab yesterday (literally just before shutting down the game I was like "Wait, it's not just Zep/Hiei/Akagi that we're getting, is it? How did I get Bel again?". I think you can get 900 kizuna points per day from dailies, and 600 from the first run of the fifth stage (Black SP) plus 200 for any additional runs of Black. So just doing dailies and about 4 runs of Black per day will give you over 2k points easily (2100). Which means 'elegant AI' should be a sinch to get in 4 days. The rest is just a bonus. I'm thinking I'm going to use this as a chance to grind 6-4 for Yuudachi. 100 points per run. Can do it in 100runs, makes it pretty easy to calculate (if I do 10 runs per day it'll be done in 10 days). My cheapest fleets can actually make short work of 6-4 on auto, while anything higher than that is a struggle. Now, I'm more interested as to what are the ??? items on AI's memorabilia grid...I'd really like to get that Pyoko-Pyoko medal if I can. -

The Nihongo literally says "Sheppurin-chan". The 'She' I'm assuming is a cutesy mispronunciation of 'Ze', basically making her name "Sheppelin-chan". -
That's a whole lot of exaggeration. Naturally it depends on your personal reading speed (I am aware there are many here for whom English isn't a first language), but completing the VN with all the good/true endings and all 24 bad endings (as well as time spent in the Extra menu browsing) only took me around 80-90hours. You could probably get it down much lower if you avoid the bad ends using a roadmap (Well, you'll still want to check out the "Mind of Steel" and "Sparks Liner High" bad ends, the latter if only for Mighty Wind). Only RPGs with a metric -ton of grinding take me more anywhwere near the 150-hour mark (If I could attach screencap of my save files for Fate/Extra here, I would). And in my opinion the best overall story in the franchise is Shirou's story in Unlimited Blade Works. So much so that if I didn't feel so strongly about people playing the original VN, I'd recommend starting with ufotable's 2014 adaptation. Having said that, I don't really think you can go wrong with starting with Apocrypha or Extra, seeing as they are focused in on their own plots with no connections to FSN or Zero. UBW is the shorthand for "Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works".

Hi-yo! Popping back in again! Looks like Reddit was right afterall, IJN DD equipped with quints turned out to by Shimakaze and IJN BB with five double turrets turned out to be Kii...'s sister ship. Shima's quite the cutie, too, but I wonder if she'll hold a candle to KC Shima... -

Maybe you should make your exercise Defence fleet into an all-bunny meme fleet? Marry them all and call them something that spells "My Ships Are Breeding Like Rabbits" (or something similar). All you need is another rabbit to go with the 2ndCarDiv. ...Also, you should stop changing your name. It's going to confuse people. -
Just stepping out of my hiatus to point out that this: Feels like the pot calling the kettle black to me.

The Promised Neverland. I've just finished watching all 12 episodes, and I have to say I can't wait for more. I can't go into details, because if I do, I'll ruin some twist or other. You guys need to check this one out.

I'm back briefly from my self-imposed hiatus to deliver some news. Also to complain about you guys arguing about KC/AL...¬_¬. Can't we just agree that KC has superior grils but AL has superior gameplay (and an Eigo Hon'yaku)? Also I want to complain about after not turning on my PC for a few days, Firefox felt it was a good idea to replace all my tabs with a single Bing tab. F*ck Bing. Delete it, you piece of sh*t. Anywho:- This is a screenshot-of-a-screenshot I took shortly after I decided to start seriously pursuing my Foxmines grind on Friday (29th March). I literally got Akagi in about 5runs of normal mode 3-4. So naturally, I'm sat there looking at the screen thinking "Cool, now just watch as it takes me 7months to get the other one, knowing my E-ranked luck." Also, now's an appropriate time to mention, I think AL Akagi/Kaga are the rare example of AL character design being better than KC. BTW, I'm not sh*tting on Shibafu or anything; I actually like Shibafu's art - I just feel like KC's First Carrier Division are very plain for being the legends they ought to be. Having said that, the 2ndCarDiv I prefer more is KC's - I don't care much for the bunnies. Now the stinger where I admit that I don't care for AL Akagi's personality, but I can't bring myself to like KC Akagi's personality any more. One's a dumpster fire, the other's extremely boring. (And yeah, maybe I am biased because I have a thing for foxes. There's a reason I'm maining Tamamo-no-Mae in Fate/Extella Link (on the Switch)) Anyway, back into my self-imposed hiatus... (but not before posting something else...) -
