I usually try to use them all. Most of my reports for bad play go usually towards my team. Camping,sniping,not pushing,not caping when they could/should. Compliments, i usually split them between the 2 teams. As i usually play dds i will compliment a good knife fight or proper hit and run tactics on dds of the other team. As for my team, compliments go towards bbs who push,cruisers who radar,cvs that protected their fleet and people who generally talk strategy and work for the team and not for personal score. I will occasionally compliment based on kills but if i have not seen part of their gameplay to judge i usually dont. 99% of the time i will inform people that they got a compliment. About chat reports. When in a full potato team i will not report the rage on chat as i feel the exact same way. For flame that i find unreasonable i will usually dump 2-3 reports on the same person and inform them on chat with a line like "Reported for extreme stupidity". For people on the opposite team who get c0cky on chat a report reward awaits them on port.

Many bbs should be your heaven! Like people mentioned before ,check a lot of guides on youtube and read the destroyer sub-forum about pretty much everything. If you play ijn dds also try to watch games of US dds.You ll pick some great tricks. If you are playing russian dds,well i cant help ya,i dropped the line at tier 5 cause i couldnt make it work -

So far my BB experience was a few games with the ARP Hiei with very poor results. Few days ago i started the german bb line. Having the mod there,does not make my lazy. It gives me information faster than i , lets say, watching the vanilla minimap. Makes me think more about my shots,helps me understand better stuff like shell travel time and shell arcs in relation to the enemy ship angle and speed and helps me get a feel for the enemy ships angle without looking at the mod. Aim assist would make me lazy.This does not. It gives you info that YOU need to evaluate and make a decision. And to be fair,for some reason i dont always trust the angles i see on the mod and often completely ignore it. The running lights mod (and not the navigation one) can be considered a cheat yes,but i will repeat my self. It provides you info that are ALREADY there.Double tap M to peak over an island or shoot a blind shell to the ship and press Z to get in shell camera mode and see the ship. So in essence you are attacking mods that provide the same information that can be obtained through ingame mechanics or vanilla features but not those mechanics. Gud logic pipol. We are talking about basic functionality that should be included on the main game. If we were talking about aim assist i would agree with you. With the exception of running lights the rest are info that are already there but through the mod can be accessed , what?,2 seconds faster? And as long as WG allows me to use them,i will. -

lol indeed! I could swear that half of the values could only been seen on port and the other half only while in a match. I either went full potato or something was changed in one of the last patches without noticing it Good point! -

Per ship: While in port,hover your mouse on the smoke. You will see a line that says "Smoke screen Active for xxx seconds".The duration till last smoke puff dissapears. Active for zz seconds".The time you need to lay out the smoke. Reload time yyy seconds. So , for a benson with premium smoke: SS active for 124 seconds. Lay out time of 28 seconds. Reload time 160 seconds. Last puff will dissapear when the countdown timer shows : 160-124=36seconds and the first layed out puff will dissapear when the timer shows 36+28=1:04. The problem with the mods we both mentioned is that they cannot be removed. Mostly because there is some vanilla client functionality that provides the same result in just a few more seconds than the mod or because it should be included on the vanilla client. Smarter minimap with lines and ship names,relative angles,player hp on the panels should be on the core of the game and not in a mod. These are basic information every captain needs to know. What needs to be adjusted is the double M and the shell camera since those 2 allow for having information that you cant otherwise have. And for the last part,i dont really care.I m just sayin. @VapeyVic: Install both the angle and minimap mods!They will make your life so much easier once you get used to them! -

Well,i use it. I also use the player panels with the config that shows hp of the ships,detection,gun and torpedo range. The minimap mod with lines and ship types, Bigger icons that replace the vanilla ones for when you are spotted. Zoom out mod. Improved chat. Running lights. The angle of the ships is one of the factors you consider when making your shots. And while it matters ,this information is nowhere to be found on the vanilla client. Checking the minimap is not always enough and not everyone has eagle eyes to determine if a ship is moving 3 degrees up or down in 12-20km distance. It offers an advantage yes,but not a significant one since you can always do 1 range shot,or untarget the ship you wanna shoot and see how it moves relatively to your crosshair. What it offers is the same result as the 2 above actions in less time. Advantage?Yes. Cheat?No. Should be a vanilla feature?Hell yea. Same goes for almost all of the mods i mentioned above. They all provide some quality of life and gameplay improvements in one way or another. What one may consider borderline cheating is the running lights mod.Dot above the ships that is green if moving forward,red if stopped and purple if in reverse. Because,well,how can you rationalize knowing whether a ship is moving forward or backwards without visual contact? On the subject of borderline cheating , mechanics that fit that category are double tapping M to see a ships position behind an island and shell camera used for the same reason. The difference between double M,shell camera,running lights and angle mod is that the first 3 provide information that you shouldnt have without direct visual , while the last one provides info that you must have. Also,the ship info found on the players panel could again be considered borderline cheating. Not sure how it will sound in English but the next analogy is the best thing i could come up with: You are playing online chess. There is no rule that you cant use an opening database (Programs that have all variations of the possible starting moves) or the internet. No one can check you or limit you. But you know its fair play not to do it. And you do it. Rule-wise its not cheating but practically it is because you have access to information that you might not originally knew or remember and it affected your decisions. What i am trying to say is that there are many things that could be considered borderline cheating but angle mod is not one of them. And i am not crying about mechanics and mods here. If they are allowed and they give me an advantage or more information or a better quality of life,i will use them. -

There are 3 symbols that pop on your screen when you are detected. I am using modded ones so i dont remember the vanilla but for me they are: A red ship for visual contact. A plane for when spotted by planes And a radar for radar/hydro. Keep also in mind that if your captain does not have concealment expert (5th skill) and another captain has it , he will detect you outside of your detection range

At the moment to move from one tier to another we only have to grind some xp.That can be 1k/match or 200/match.[edited]But what if on top of the xp to unlock the next tier we also had to finish specific missions that are unique for each ship and appear only after you have grinded the xp for the next tier? Example:Isokaze to Minekaze.After you get the xp needed you will have to finish 3 games in a row achieving on each match:-More than 40k torp damage.-1 cap-1 Kill Faragut to Mahan:-At least 2x fires on 2 ships-45k Gun damage-1 cap Mahan to Benson:-At least 2x fires-10k fire damage-45k Gun damage-1 cap-more than 75% of 1 enemy dd health. Any cruiser line that has Radar:-Spot at least 1 dd using Radar-Damage at least 75% of 1 enemy dds health pool-Survive till the end of the match while being top half of the score board Any cruiser that is fire starter from distance:-At least 2x fires on 2 different ships-At least 10k fire damage on 2 different ships-Survive till the end of the match while being top half of the score board Cruisers that are mainly AA:-Kill atleast 10 planes while staying close to your fleet-Survive till the end of the match while being top half of the score board BBs:-Kill at least 1 cruiser-Do damage equal to at least 55% of a dds hp pool-Get 2 citadel hits on enemy bbs when you are in less than 75% of your max range-Do damage higher than 120% of your ships hp The requirements for each tier should be getting higher on every ship. They need to help you improve your gameplay and be medium-hard-ish difficulty for up to tier 9 and be hard for TX. Dont stick to the numbers and the objectives per se,but focus on the idea behind them. Do you think it would increase the average potato skill making the game better for everyone?Extra ideas and tweaking suggestions will be included to this OP.Its not a suggestion thread,its a discussion one.

A clarification:Nowhere i said to limit progression! I said that the missions need to be such to help you improve your gameplay/skill but be of a medium/hard-ish difficulty that goes to hard when we are talking TX. The reason behind this is: To get consistent results you need to be in the right mentality and learn from your mistakes. I thought my way could promote/enhance that. Keep the feedback coming! Still , you had very valid points that i didnt think off! Generally , i m not happy with the potato amount. Yea i do! Out of the , lets say, 100 times i have pulled this off, 5 times some cruiser captain understood my intentions and kept reliably shooting me while decelerating and accelerating from 9-11km distance. Thats where the sitting duck comment came from.Not an often issue tbh and nothing you can do much for! -

Container concept is great. About the xp tho,1st and 2nd are fine. I personally like the 3rd but i also understand those who dont have much time to play and complain about it. I also understand that it is a slight push toward selling more premium subscriptions and i am fine with it. If the plan is the xp for the 3rd container to stay where it is, give it a bit better reward amounts than the 2 first. If it gets downgraded closer to the 25-27k xp mark keep the rewards as it.

Only because most players are ret potatoes. There are a million ways to counter dds on every single class yet no1 bothers. And as long as no1 bothers,competent dd captains will keep sealclubbing on every tier. You never got rushed while inside smoke right?

I believe i need to add evasive maneuver training to my to do list for the benson. I can reliably avoid shots at 9+km but not so well bellow that. If skilled captains can actually consistently do that then ,i got my full solution! F3 spam never worked for me Instead a simple "Kill the frucking xx_ship please" always works miracles for me.Dunno why Thanks for input gentlemen and once again , sorry for the off-topic- 55 replies
