What's the difference between both Russian destroyer lines?
ForlornSailor replied to Purnylla's topic in General Discussion
Everything about the Kiev / Tashkent / Khaba has been pretty much said. I just like to point out, that Khaba doesnt make much sense anymore. Tashkent is better and looking at T10 - Kleber is better so Khaba lost her spot. Ognevoi is a superb torpedoboat. The line doesnt really evolve consistend tho, since Udaloi is all of a sudden a decent gunboat but losing its torpedo strenght somewhat. Grozovoi is an update in gun & torp armament but not easy to play Id say. Especially with SAP floating around. This goes for all russian gunboats btw - it can ruin your day faster then you can say BLYAT, when you meet a good Venezia player... But thats a different subject I suppose since its bad for all DDs. Kiev and Tashkent are absolutly worth it. Kiev is better then Le Fantasque on T8. -
Sounds to me, like you have been touched by premium ships / Stalingrads too often. And thus your entire arguments turns into a "mimimi premium ships are OP mimimi" post without any substance, logic or value.

Visit, call or mail - whatever is most convienient for you - and ask them

Nah I just called him out in general chat. It triggered him so hard, that he engaged me :D True for both. Honestly, I think at this point, he is doing it for the money. Just have to roughly calculate subsribers and his tonedeaf tuesday and you know his income per month - and thats a low guess. Cant blame him, it pays more then a "real" job. But his recent influence on the community is ... questionable.
-
That was one of us ^^ I was surprised, that he didnt went to stat shame again. Thats what he did with me, when I corrected him once XD (he had to dig deep to paint that picture, quite amusing actually). He is completly out of touch with anything surrounding CVs. And always has been. He was the vocal leader or "CV rework will be awesome" during the testing - and for one reason only. He hated RTS CVs and thought, reworked CVs will nerf the class into the ground. Yes, he actually thought that after testing them himself. How he thinks now about CV rework its pretty obvious. But yea, his audience loves it and throws money at him, everytime he unleashes a blind rage without any facts.

Why are WG games more frustrating than other games?
ForlornSailor replied to Psychatogg's topic in General Discussion
Guys, dont forget to mention the free2play model. This attract a) people that dont care at all and b) the game is designed to be somewhat frustrating to make you reach (and shortcut) for something, that promises to be fun (or a little bit less frustrating xD). So because of all the stuff mentioned, its very futile to compare wows to something like SC2. And if you cant deal with it... this game might not be for you. Because it will never ever change. -
No its not really. Here is the thing: I like traiding games / business simulations, I even play(ed) some ship based. But you dont see me running around: "Uh I think ships should dock at a port when the battle starts. Then we should load ammunition, bunker oil, coal, water and food supply first. You know, because in reality, thats what they needed to do.The ships here are just running on love and thin air. so unrealistic. Game XXX does this much better. There is even an economic system with prices rising and falling on demand. We should really get that here, because it adds depth." You like something in another game = you go play that game. It already exists. You dont go and change THIS game because the people ALREADY HERE like it his way and DO NOT WANT you ideas. simple as that. That goes for your spotting-radar-mount-ship-name-wave-fantasies (list to be continued)
-
Then go and play WT = your problem solved. That was easy.
-
No its not.

I disagree. Top pick for Narai BB-wise is the Scharnhorst. Gneisenau and Sinop are well ahead of Nelson aswell. But before getting into that: Unless you just like to play Narai for the sake of ... well... playing it - its not worth it anymore to dedicate a ship for it. Farming is not worth it. It does have a huge impact on people playing Narai, with the dedicated, skilled to perfection community pretty much wiped completly. They are just gone. So even if you still like to play Narai, keep in mind, that a) its going to be hard to find people to play with you outside of the weekly rotation and b) the people left playing it might not be the best. If you however have a group of guys, that still play Narai, you can ignore it. Then Nelson for randoms: Cita is huge. With T7 matchmaking what it is right now, you will see high tiers a lot. Means: you get overmatched quite often. WGs focus on huge calibres in recent times doent help Nelson either. And then there is her speed. Everything is running circles around you, especially when you are low tier. Honestly: Nelson was superb when released. nice matchmaking (T7 was said to be the sweetspot of the game), nice guns, super heal. This has all been powercrepd. Another port queen for me, I dont pick Nelson when im playing a T7 BB in randoms these days.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
The match making monitor is hardly helpful for most people that are using it. Often enough I see someone going in chat "oh great another loss, 60% enemy team we have 40%" or like "wow enemy team has 4 super unicums, this is lost" and then just suicing in. Appart from those guys beeing negativly influenced from that information there is also the psychological factor, when you tell the people on your team this (eventhough only half of them are capable of reading xD - because they disabled the chat I mean ofc ;) ) IMO, MMM is only helpful if you dont let it frustrate you and use it to find out, which one is the biggest threat in the enemy team. Ive never used it and I dont think I would be able to cope with the stuff Id see. -
Come on people, we are at about 250 pages of CV-"discussion" /counting the +200 pages from the previous topic. Unless you are really bored, its time to stop. Nothing is ever gonna change and for nothing any of us writes here will change anything. Some of us experianced this even before CV rework was ever a topic, when trying to improve RTS CVs. We are at a point, where every second new players turns into a CV main at T4 (a bad one, I might add), while the other half turns into JB mains. If you are really that upset with where WG is driving this game, there is only one sensible solution...

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
That sounds very likely. Its just... maybe the experiance overall would be even more frustrating. I dont know. Thinking about it: I would maybe go the other way? Like prevent, that 3 or more of the worst players are in one team. You could spread them out, because imo its rather the bad players, that cause a roflstomp then the good players enabeling one? Ofc you cant do anything against a division of such players... But when you have 4 guys with below 40 % WR on your team and they all die within the first 4 minutes without achieveing anything, then the game is usualy not only lost but even folds super fast. If both teams could get 2 of them, atleast everyone has some fun... xD -
At this point, we should all be able to agree that this is true. One MIGHT include Stalin, however, Id argue that in a normal environment, Stalin isnt broken nor OP in clanwars, since there is a lot of stuff that kills Stalin quick. Its just that the current environment makes every tactic or ship, that counters Stalin - unplayable. With the exeption of Venezia. Tonight, we´ve run into many 6x/5x Venezia setups and this was a constant development throughout the season. What started with 3 or 4 Stalins, topped in 6 Stalins and then started to diverse into 4 Stalin + 2 Venezia, then swinging towards 3 Venezias, 4 Venezias - now ended in this. Grouped together so that they even counter the CV - not by shooting down planes but by wasting its time and vanishing into smoke the moment the CV arrives. The combo Venezia brings is terrible, gameplaywise. Here is my stalin tanking a group of those predetors, wasting their time, while im waiting for my teams Venezias to dish out damage at 20+km faster then the enemys can. I have no words for this seasons meta.

Strange mystery of unknown origin
ForlornSailor replied to anonym_hiiw5uZtBExP's topic in General Discussion
And I took all of his. And after that the Yamatos. And yea, I didnt manage to angle in time, thats why he hit my cita. Thats the whole concept of angle, unless there is overmatch in the game. And in that sense, Moskva is one of the strongest ships around. -

Once again: the fault of the fail division. Kinda knew it before I looked at the screen... -
Yup, and thats just one part of how CVs rain on minos parade. The other is DD hunting. Mino was the best cruiser for that, now CVs just took over that role. And CVs on T10 are super common now. They either make the DDs play passive or stright out kill them / spot them themself. Not much sense in playing the Mino that way anymore... What armor . Neptune used to be one of my favourite cruisers in the game. She is a port queen now. Sad. When I bring a CRUISER - why whould I pick Neptune over Alaska f.e.? Highlighted the entire problem from my PoV here. Would play Neptune if Alaska would be her own class. But like this? You gimp your teams tanking abilities. And most people around you dont know how to tank anyway so you raise your chance of losing with bringng Neptune. My 2020 stats for Neptune: A shame, really. And 93,5k is rank 3 on avg damage among my stats/ships this year. I lost these games because my team collapsed against much tankier setups, not because of the firepower of the ship (or me beeing unable to make her work, if I may be so blunt). And talking about Alaska, recent stats in comparision: Doesnt deal more damage, but THIS is the difference: top line, potential damage on average Neptune, below Alaska. Super-/Battlecruisers ftw. Sorry for diverting a little to Neptune @VeryHonarbrah but its in the core the same problem and I just happen to have more detailed data on that Situation (+ so many Battle cruisers on T9 around and more in the making).

Yup I agree. That ship has too much going for it. Range, troll armor, 15 guns, ammunition with guarenteed damage output... Id still say SAP is a fail concept tho. For some reason, it wasnt acceptable that BBs get the occasional full pen on a DD, but ive seen several DDs been oneshotted from Venezias... Logic doesnt add up, but hey, nothing new for us as players of this game...

Ive pointed this out to WG about a year ago about the Neptune (her position is even worse then Minotaur). They didnt care. No wait. They said, they will look into it and buff or nerf ships if needed...

Cant stay on topic huh? Why dont you answer his question? Can you answer it? We both know the answer is "there is no difference". But yet here we are and you cant admit it. add to that: It took a RTS Haku several minutes to line up those 3x drops. New CVs have cycled through several squads at that time and have already accumulated tons of damage by the 5 mins marks, often even 1 or even 2 kills.
