Can you maybe post less in a topic, that you have no idea about and doesnt even concern you? You are in a clan with 1 player. You dont play clanwars, you never did. This entire thing doesnt concern you and you have no idea what the people are talking about. Yet you talk down to players and clans, as if you are better then them, while you have never even witnessed this gameplay first person.

Yes, because before CVs, every team in clanwars played with alteast 6 DDs and BBs were extinct. no wait. that never happened. So what is your point? Just random words put together to avoid giving an actuall answer, I see.

@Eternus_Damnatio Id look at the stats from the last weeks to better judge the current performance of Neptune or any ship really: http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/20200704/eu_week/average_ship.html And yea, Seattle and Buffalo are indeed performing worse. About the subject: Thanks to the battlecruisers on T9, that get treated equally as cruisers in the matchmaker, it will be hard to achieve balance in the stats for T9 cruisers. Thats the real problem. And ive argued in the forum for a Neptune buff like... 1,5 years ago and got an offical response, that they dont see a problem and if they see a problem they´d act. Since nothing ever happend - spreadsheet says she is fine. I think, the ship would be more comfortable to play with a buff of concealment and smoke firing penatly, to bring her more inline with Edinburgh and Minotaur. It wouldnt increase her damage output (which is fine for a T9) but rather improve the gameplay experiance. And since Edin and Mino can stealth radar, I dont think there is a reason why Neptune shouldnt? Thats just consistancy. But as I mentioned: good luck in bringing your point across to WG...

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
A representative of a company is not a human beeing? Anyway. You should realize, that he has no influence in any way on the topic at hand here. As in he couldnt possibly change the matchmaker. His work evolved around the forum and the messages posted here. As above: the guys you are interacting with here, are not responsible in any way for what is happening ingame. Honestly: you are a decent player. You reach almost the maximum in random battles what is possible as a solo player (unless you belong to the Top 0,x %, then you can squeez our a handful more wins out of 100 games - even that doesnt make a big difference, as should be obvious). So you either need to start playing in 3x divisions with other players of your skill range - then you can bump it up to 70 to 80 wins out of 100 games - or you need to accept how the game is. The third option is to walk away, if you cant take it. And im not talking down down to you or something like that - Ive been at that same point, looking at those 3 options. There really are no more then those, ive turned the coin over and over myself, looking for another side to it. -
How you know when they are just good or cheat ?
ForlornSailor replied to GrazyC2's topic in General Discussion
The thing is this - ill be completly honest with you now: from replays, in a game like wows, its impossible to tell if someone is cheating (as in actually cheating) as long as everything is within the normal game parameters. With that I mean, if some cheat somehow gives you a 2 sec reload on a Kurfürst - yes, ofc, thats easy to see. But we gathered some examples in this topic already, whats actually possible. You could litteraly remember the spawn positions on maps, take a ship with really long range and shoot those positions on maps, where you have the range from start. You´d get quite a few hits once you gitgud at that, im sure. So what would such a replay prove, even if you find the same player doing it 20 games in a row? nothing. And WG knows that. What you need to do, is build in cheat-detection. There are many ways. Ive been envolved in anti-cheat plattforms back in the days so I know a few things how to really bust cheaters. Non of that involved actually game-replays. only in professional gaming, when you talk about, where the money is made, there some guys are watching replays and look for cheats. Its super hard work. Impossible to do for Support on wows here. -
How you know when they are just good or cheat ?
ForlornSailor replied to GrazyC2's topic in General Discussion
Something like that ^^ At 0:50 I take the blind shot. Logic because the cap turned red, RPF and former position told me the rest. You can do a lot of stuff in this game, once you get into it. -
The forum has told him this about 250-times by now. He just choses to ignore this fact and keeps thinking, he is the only one in the universe of wows, that knows how to play (and counter) CVs. In his world, everyone else is just whinging, because they cant play CVs and cant counter CVs (which both in combination doesnt make any sense but then again: what does?)

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
The problem with that is, that here you are depended on XP / credits, while in other games not (or not like this!). Meaning: the better you perform, the higher will be your XP reward. And granted, its easier (on average atleast), to gain more XP/Credits in the current environment then in any other suggested in this topic - for the good players. Now if you look at the not-so-good performing players: they´d profit, because they only face each other (talking about an ELO-like system, seperating groups complelty from each other). Now you can ofc say, that are petty thoughts, but why should a clearly worse player get all the time the same XP/WR/credits then a clearly better player due to seperated matchmaking? It would also make any sorts of stats unuseable, because with skill-divided matchmaking, everyone scores high damage. There was a really nice suggestion in the other topic, where @loppantorkel and @Hanse77SWE came up with a "casual-competetive" mode as an permanent addition to the existing gamemodes. This has the potential to ease many problems we currently see in the randoms. And it would solve problems for both ends of the playerbase. Imo - we as a community should push for this solution, as it offers something for everyone without having any downsides (or I fail to see one). -
There would still be a best CV solo player tho ;) And thats kinda the point. We have so many different ships in this game and some people might be very good overall but some might be even better in a specific ship/line/class (however you chose to set the narrative). Then there is the point to be made, that solo in a teamgame shouldnt be a benchmark or randoms at all shouldnt be or however you want to set the definition. People could have also rerolled, played in a different meta long ago, thus achieving a really good winrate at that time, because the meta suited them but it doesnt anymore etcetc. long story short: defining the best player overall in this game is flawed by definition. There are a lot of really good players, depending how you want to look at it. you can on pro ships.ru

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
ForlornSailor replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
@Captaindanz I swear, everytime I bumbed heads heavy with someone on the forums - I see that guys within the next 3 days in a random game against me. Evil WG is setting this up. But feels so good doesnt it? Made my evening. ^^ Ah yea, greatest gaming achievements, lets see. Ill take something from yesterday then, clan brawls: best result damage wise: But most impact was prolly this: Didnt look too good, their DD and BB sticked together and we had already lost our BB. So I tried to estimate where the Asashio is and find a way to seperate him from his BB - which worked with the island to my right. Hydro enebled me to push him and since I knew, the BB would tryto come to the rescue, I threw torps in his way around the island. Nice when a plan works out. Ended clan brawl with 15 wins and 4 loses. -
No, I didnt think it was necessary refering to me, but since you didnt specify it, it might aswell have? You cant be sure what people mean, especially in 2020. Just give a clear example and I know what you are talking about. I mean I can continue the guessing game but I guess the border is somewhat fluid. Enterprise + 2x Friesland? 3x Belfast?
-
3x T1 divisions? but then again: whom do they cheat? They dont face new players, since new players are seperated the first 75 games from the regular queue. Or this? come on, dont beat around around the bushes, be more precise. This is exactly my last random game that ive played, I didnt cherry pick. Is this "cheating"?
-
There were reworked CVs 4 years ago? How about we let someone else judge that? Lets say - me. And I call: El2aZer wins. Hey, its 2020 after all. I see twisted logic and double standards the moment I enter any news page and read for about 45 seconds - so what do you except?
-
Fully agree with you three @loppantorkel @Hanse77SWE & @DFens_666 - like a casual-competetive mode. Thats exactly what the game is missing. Something, where you have full control over the people on your side but I dont need to worry about long-term points & leagues like in clanwars. Form divisions with any players you like, not tied to your own clan. Maybe it could have a weekly change between tiers / size of division, similar to scenarios? I´d concider this a supber adition to the game. I dont need any special reward system to make me want to play this. Can have normal random rules for XP/credits aswell. How does this sound, has anyone before come up with an idea like this? Did you ever concider it? Short summery: - permanent new gamemode restricted to one division perside, somewhat similar to clanbrawls - no special rewards, reward system from randoms (prolly adjusted to size, when its a 3x3 it would yield too low XP?) - switching tiers/teamsize (maybe from T5 to T10, size from 3 to 7 people - ofc totally open for discussion) - divisions not restricted to one clan - a weekly scedule, changing tiers & teamsize @MrConway @Sehales @Crysantos ?
-
Oh, I wouldnt be so negative about this. It might very well be, that WG restricts CV divisions to same tier ships. Here is why I think this might happen: With and since the rework, WG has done a lot to reduce the influence of CV-divisions. During RTS times, the power of such divisions came from the AA and not from the CV alone. Like the Midway + DM + Mino thing, where both cruisers were completly AA specced. WG has removed prety much all impact towards AA-skilling. Def AA is a mere shadow of what it was. You cant increase your AA range anymore and even the +2 flak buffs on the lower module are gone and now in a questionable slot. This is, ofc I can only speculate, to lower the impact of CV divisions. Ofc with artifical restrictions on divisions itself, WG would kinda admit "something is wrong with reworked CVs" which they avoid to do at all costs. So thats a point against it.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
In practice, this means, he would have to suffer 1000 losses in a row with absolute horrible teams of people with ~40% WR in his team to get from 65 to 55% Why would he do that? Who would keep playing through a 1000 game lose-streak? Especially when you know beforehand whats going to happen? -
How is "I dont want to depend on 11 randoms player of whom 9+x are having trouble breathing without keeping their mouth open" is a petty excuse? If majority of players would understand the following things: - concept of time and points - concept of objectives - concept of teamplay - concept of communication there wouldnt be a need to play in divisions. But they dont. And thats why I will never ever again enter a random game solo, ive said it to myself years ago and I kept my promise. Do the bad players care about all the decent folk they have driven away? btw: they (the bad players) are winning this contest. And by a long shot. Dont be overdramatic. Eventho we have offically entered the "year of the snowflakism", as I like to call 2020, people that are traumatized because of this video game will prolly roll over in the fetal position when their local supermarkt is out of their favourite cocoa drink aswell. Which is funny, because Ive literally never heard anyone saying this, honestly. Quite the contrary, people rage quit because of the dumbest things happening, like 2 DDs killing themself with 14 sec on the clock while having 300 points advantage (look up the topic on this very forum recently) or rage quitting streamers on a daily basis because playing with people, that are incapable of playing, is driving you insane. No its not. Bullying is, when I stand infront of your door, that you have to come out eventuelly to go to school, then beat you up and take your lunch money. every day of the week. I actually communicate nicely with everyone but get s*** back often from the group of players, you try to defend so bravely. And yea, I want to win at almost all cost. Its called playing for the objective in an objective based game. When you play Poker with your friends in real - do you show them your cards? or do you lose on purpose because its more fun? When you play football, do you stop running? Do you not shoot the ball in the goal, if its empty? Do you pass the ball to the enemy goalkeeper and rather turn to score an owngoal and then say "well not this time, we were already leading, I think its fair if we draw all the time (50% WR anyone??) this way we can all have fun! Youd actually be kicked off and excluded for lifetime from both groups pretty fast. Elaborate whom and why you call racist in an environment, that is completly free of any race-identifiers. You should join our Discord. We have a seperate channel called "Crayon-dining-table" where we make fun of bad players. Im not even joking.
-
Actually - that would be you. You are incapale or unwilling to understand, what he is telling you. Which makes sense, since your past history of posting shows a clear passive-aggressive line to defend CVs.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Disagree. Also disagree. Its called "Random game mode" for a reason. its random. It shall stay random. In clanwars you are matched according to your rating/league. There you find, what you are looking for. You shall be save of those guys you discredited with your earlier screenshots, since they are way above you. Problem solved. -
How about people just play better? How about, we straight out ban people, that go like "im going back to port you all s***" just because his team has lost 1 ship? How about we tune up the economy, so that a Yamato with a 19k avg damage cant continue playing this ship for 1000s of games, effectivly rigging the chances of 11 other players to win heavily against them? And here is another reason, why roflstomps are increasing: more and more very good players have stopped playing the game in the short past. Or play a lot less. They used to balance random games because they always put up a fight. Not only do bad player put up less of a fight due to their skill - this "eff this ill yolo / quit to port / Im not playing as low tier" is much more spread across the bad players, again, causing such roflstomps. So throw anymore stones in the way of good players, then theyll all gonna leave. Then the 2nd line of half way decent players can enjoy their time to shine for a short period, untill they are the "best whats left" - and the mechanics, some are asking for, is turning against them and ruining the game for them. So theyll quit. Eventually, all those "lets finds ways to rig the game against super unicums" will lead to a game only played by the bottom scrub. World domination of the ______. Anyone really want that? Are we not close enough to that yet? Everyone is complaining about bad game play and some want ... more of it? Those guys should really understand, that someone, who spams HE with his Musashi, parking it full broaside and getting one shotted - isnt going to be a frakin inch of a better player if you artifically lift his Wirnate to 50% by rigging with the matchmaker. He still is the biggest pile of you-know-what.
-
How you explain then, that those "players with way above WR, who rig the game so WR is fake" win 80~90% in modes like 3x3 and 4x4 clanbrawl? You hardly have played 5k DD battles since the rework tho, right? And its rare, that you meet a CV, that just kills you 2 mins into the game - but it does happen. I play DDs a lot myself. I play them with CVs in division and they often ask me, if im insane. But the reality is: most CVs suck. And the good CV player can hardly picture, how you could play a DD, as all they do it kill DDs like there are mildly annoying flies sitting on a wall. The reality is also: just because its rare, doesnt mean, it doesnt happen. It happens all the time.

Later in the evening we started to see Akizukis all the time, companied by Kutuzovs and often Amagi. No idea what that was about but gave fast & easy wins so ^^

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
FTFY. This is true. However, the reason for that is only, that 80% of the playerbase is unwilling or incapable of any sort of basic teamplay. And you know that aswell. Else, we wouldnt need to play in division in the first place. -
My "team"mates finally destroyed my brain with the complete and utter hor******* they kept writing. It was, no joke, the most insane stuff ive heard people talking in 4 years of playing the game. A few examples? DD on start "lets do B/C" --> people agree --> that DD himself turns to ... *drumroll* A ! I ask him: "where are you going? You said B/C yourself?" --> DD: "ill sneak cap A, you guys get B/C then we have all caps". Great plan is great I guess. I decide, Ill follow him because else he will just die. Meanwhile, other other DD runs to C as he was told. Our "smart logistics officer" in his DD meets a Le Fantasque in A. Instead of outspotting him and let me take care of him, he pushes in and gunboats him, attracting the full focus of the 3 ships the Le Fanta brought as backup. So the moment I kill the Le Fanta - our DD dies aswell. Meanwhile, our other DD has suicided on the other side aswell! Deep in the enemys and gunboating a Vladivostok (because spamming HE on a vladi as a DD really makes sense). So he proceedes to blame ... me! because I didnt follow the plan and he died because of no backup. Then, our Bismark on the I-line also blames me, that our DDs are dead because, apperently, he capped, and I didnt. (lol? objectives are on the map border now I suppose). Im not making this up, seriously, this all went down. But it gets better. The first dead DD (remember, A, Le fanta, gunboating etc) claims, it was impossible to play as a DD, because I didnt kill the Radar cruisers. So im asking him wtf radar crusers? what are you talking about? (see the screenshot of Dfens, the enemys had Mogami, Hipper, Amalfi). To which he answers "nobody can remember the consumables of all ships so I cant claim they have no radar cruisers". I tell him, that I know which ships have radar. Then he again claims, he was radared by a... *drumroll 2* Cleveland! I cant believe what im reading so im like "yea which Cleveland? Did our Cleveland radar you for the enemys or what?" So he goes "im delusional, if I dont see the Cleveland in the enemy team". And he has the Bismarck and the 2nd DD agreeing with him. I felt im cought in a game of people from the mental asylum. So yea that was this day...
