Share your ranked Massa builds and results
ForlornSailor replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
You have exactly one time reached rank 1. And then you jump another guys throat? Who is completly right btw. Just dont reply. no time for another useless back´n´forth talk with no sense. Just wanted to point out you lie and post in support of @Execute0rder66. he is right. end of story. dont believe us. we dont care either. -
We finally see more and more impact of WG pushing everyone to T10 - either by force, breadcrumbs or straight out ruining any other tier. Bots in all games below T9 when? And how the F does anyone at WG think, a 6x6 with 2 CVs is fun? Im so done with this ...

Thats ok. I already went there. He left me no choice. It actually tickled me intensely this time :D -
About in game foul language, insults and being offended
ForlornSailor replied to Saltface's topic in General Discussion
So since you like to draw comparisions, which are very far from that the topic is, let me point out what came to my mind when I read this passage of yours: Thus democracy means nothing to you. A majority of people still are wrong if you decide so. A dictator however, has the right, doesnt need to think about his decisions and doesnt need to care about other opinions. -
The real problem is, that we have captain skills, that give you a huge advantage, so they are a straight up must have. If you think, a T5 DD with a 10 point captain is sealclubbing, because he has concealment expert - then you surly think, a T8 DD is sealclubbing.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Its getting tired. No, they dont. Better players deserve to win more. They shall not be punished by having worse players on their team, just to "balance" the winrate overall. Player better & win more. Easy. Dont waste time with crying about matchmakingmontor. Deinstall it and learn to play better. -
This is already the case. Players with less then 200 games on their account cant be matches up against anyone with 201+ games in matches of T1 to T4.

Whataboutism Sure. And nobody has PC issues before or in other classes. Only those couple of hundred CV players. Ah and also only when playing CVs, in other classes they can play atleast average. Gotcha. It is relevant because YOU claimed, that CV rework fixed the skill gap. You said, "rework CVs can atleast do something... they dont get denied damage by super unicum CV in the other team... and they can always deal damage" Which the numbers completly refute. You are just wrong. Skill gap has become bigger. You now have absolutly useless CV players, who think, high tier AA is unbeatable, while on the other end of the spectrum there are the super unicums, who strike at will. Why do you try to hard to defend this? Why do you make up lies, to paint a blurry picture? Be atleast honest, say it like it is. Say "I, Pikkozoikum, love the CV rework, because I can influence the game much more then I can in any other class. I deal way more damage then in any other class and I survive almost every battle" So hard to admit it? You afraid, if you say that, the class will be nerfed? You really need to protect that class with making up lies? How come, your own stats completly refute what you are writing here? How do you explain that? Just stats after CV-Rework. ill translate the most important 106.989 avg damage with CVs. 81 % survivability in CVs. 66% WR in CVs. 1,51 avg kills per game. A kill/death ratio of 7,94 with CVs, while in all your other ships in the same period the k/d is between 1,1 and 2,55. You have highest spotting damage on your CVs, doubling your numbers in your second best class - DDs. How is it healthy for a PvP game to have a class around, that never dies, deals the most damage, is the best spotter, has a k/d ratio completly out of this world, kills the most ships on average and even gets favoured by global machnics as in doesnt burn or has insane long DCP? Let me give you the answer: it isnt healthy. And people dont hate CVs because they are CVs - they hate CVs **exactly** because of the reasons I mentioned above in fat and due to what is obvious from your stats aswell.

Ask those players? https://wows-numbers.com/ship/4179605200,Hakuryu/?order=average_damage_dealt__desc&p=33 https://wows-numbers.com/ship/4179605488,Midway/?order=average_damage_dealt__desc&p=47 Just having to post this as a screen aswell, because its so incredible And dont you dare to say "we had this pre-rework aswell" because you know, you can actually go and look that up too and the absolut lowest avg damage of any CV player on T10 was 27 887 27.887 vs 3.675. nooo we dont have skill gap - CV rewöörk fixed it. right. Sorry, but what you are saying doesnt reflect in reality.
-
LoL. yea. Like spamming HE with a Kurfürst or Yamato from max range all game. That´ll get you the top spot on XP. Just keep bending the reality to make it fit your narrative. How do you feel as the "best player of wows"? Im sure, thats where you end up with your knee-jerking, fact-deniying & twisting of every statistic.

Everything you say after this is obsolete aswell. Because I say so.

uh, thanks for the compliment, but I dont really deserve it. There are far better players then me out there. To bring this topic back to the point: I do agree, that high tier DD gameplay isnt easy. Not long ago, we had a somewhat similar discussion here in the forum, and I mentioned, that compared to cruisers, DD gameplay gets constantly harder, while playing cruisers is usualy harder on the lower/mid tiers. If that is by design and/or the desired goal of WG - we have to ask them that. But to a degree, this has always been the case. 2 things made DD life harder in the not so long past: CV rework and the introduction of SAP ammunition. Both I disagree heavily with and do think, the game would do better without. On the other hand, what I noticed: The DD vs DD interaction got way easier. One reason is what I mentioned above: CVs and SAP work against you but they also work against the enemy DDs. Second is: it seems, that many decent DD players have given up on the class. The skill level of the enemy DDs has dropped significantly over the past year. Which in return makes it easier to play a DD yourself IF you manage to play around radar (its possible), CVs (very much possible unless red CV is unicum - then goodnight) and SAP flying at you, especially from Venezia (just pray there is no italian cruiser or that he is somewhere else or doesnt know how to shoot DDs). What Id like to see, is, that decent DD gameplay atleast gets rewarded. Just today @Saltface played a great game with Lighting, beeing low tier in a T10 game. He got 2 caps, had over 120.000 spotting damage and damaged a T10 BB. He also survived. So he checked all the marks, for what is usualy accepted among the community as "doing your job as a DD" and with really decent numbers aswell. And he got ~ 1600 base XP for that. As long as the rewards for doing exactly what you should do is that low, there is no innitiative for players to improve into this direction. DDs are not the only class suffering from this - you can missplay a BB heavily and score way above 2000 base XP pretty easy. Load HE in your Yamato and farm fire damage, wehee.
-
Dont worry. We can still see your stats :)
-
No its not. Challenging? yes. In 2020, I have by far the highest survivability rate in DDs of all classes. 70%. Exaggurating again. You are impyling, every ship with radar is driven by a super unicum, that smells DDs, always radars at the perfect time, always is in perfect position and ofc only plays for the objective and hunts DDs. Its not the reality.

Now on ST: AP Rockets for CVs...because reasons.
ForlornSailor replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
What exactly is not accurate, when you manage to predict the correct point/position to start the attack, then spot the DD at 1,6 km or w/e its gonna be and then blast it? Lets be real: the change is only going to affect a small part of the playerbase. The somewhat skilled CV players. They will have it harder to align an attack. But thats a group of players, that is capable of learning, just might take a moment, depending at which end of the skill they are sitting. The Unicums+ will just predict & hit like before. The worst CV players couldnt attack DDs before and cant now. Difference is: I now cant shoot down their fighters if they drop one, because of the 20 sec AA bloom. So WG actually says "dont use AA as a DD". weird. nothing of this all makes sense.- 253 replies

With almost guarenteed CV these days: run smoke unless you really know what you are doing. There is a but: If you play division and you have a DD with long smoke in your divi, say Benson, THEN you go radar and teamplay. You move together, have the DD a little bin ahead of you, once you are spotted you notice your divi mate, he smokes, you radar = enemy DD is in trouble. Once you have this teamplay trained, radar edin in a divi is super strong and doesnt require insane skill or master mind situational awareness to work.

Henri IV still top-notch TX cruiser. If you cant make it work - problem is with you.

Er, on average it actually did work out? Or did CVs avg damage drop to 0? to 10k? to 15k? nope, it didnt not even on T4. The only thing that happend, was, that the worst of the worst, who dont show any innitiative to learn the slighest bit about any game mechanic - stopped playing the class. Because they went from almost entirely useless CVs players to indeed now absolutly useless CV players. And WG saw the previous CV rework numbers drop aaand had to steer in the other direction. And ill point it out again: make no mistake! the CV players, that dropped out, where useless before that patch, during that patch and if they returned - continue to be useless after that patch. So defending them is literally like saying Bismarck players a DD suiciders with 5k avg damage are valueble players for the game and we need to adjust the game to their skill level.

Its Invision forum software. But WG is apprently using the on-premise model so they are self hosting the forum. The Hoster of the forum is G-core labs in the netherlands.
-
The forum is also disconnected from the game, because it doesnt update clan changes of players.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Yup, thats how T7 is these days. And every class gets thrown completly under the bus. BBs can be overmatched, most Cruisers are screwed every since IFHE rework compered to the T8+ ones and DDs dont have concealment module. Thats really one of the few valid reasons to discuss about the matchmaker / state of the game, but drowns in the whine in thie thread... -
You are mixing up things here. He is not pointing out a forum rule violation but missinformation about game mechanics. If Id say "Jutland can reliably citadel a Musashi at a range of 22 km, I do it all the time" - this isnt a case for a moderator but for the everyone reading to mark it as a complete fake news. There are opinions and then there are things like my example with Jutland above.

New player experience and state of CVs
ForlornSailor replied to ReimuHakurei's topic in General Discussion
Your math is correct (as fas as I can tell, I didnt use a calculator, ill trust you on this one xD). However, it used to be different. The game did fill the new player / protected queue atleast during prime time for quite a few years. So something did happen or is happening. As much as Id like to blame reworked CVs for that, they clearly are not the cause of this. Sealclubbers cant reach the protected matchmaking zone and new players are usualy so bad in CVs, that they cant be that annoying / game breaking. Thats what I believe atleast. So is the influx of new players dried up? Is the game not attracting new players anymore? Or do they all move up so fast, that they leave the procteted matchmaking zone too fast? The recent matchmaking change clearly has an impact aswell. Before, you had many games with 5x5 to 9x9 and alike. Some of those games were close to unplayable. Thats happening in both queues btw, protected an regular. Ive played a Hosho game some time ago with a 5x5, where 2 CVs and 2 DDs were present (and 1 BB). The enemy DDs just suicided, as did the BB into the DD torps. I think I ended the game with something like 7k damage? I actually yoloed my hull across the map to maybe ram one of the CVs but ofc against 2 DDs and a BB, that are out to gape the last 2 CVs, who clearly had no idea how to play a CV, the damage race was futile. I guess it must be a mix of all of this. Introduction of bots clearly was a panic move to stop games from my example from happening, because those are not enjoyable for anyone, I guess? But is it really that much better? IMO the game needs a constant flow of new players. There is a group, that will play a game very active for a short time (be it weeks or months) and then quit. You have those in any onlinegame. You need those, to keep the playernumbers stable. Especially in a rather small game like wows, which is also spread across many tiers. I mean bots on T4 is one thing but what if the player numbers start to go down on T5 and the ones above? T7 is already under pressure right now, because you hardly get games as top tier. And fighting T9s as a T7 is one of the most horrible things in this game, imo. Much worse then playing against T10s as a T8. So T5 bots in randoms soon :tm: ? -
