Good point. Dont get me wrong - im not arguening against CVs. I think the problem is really the skill-gap that this class brings combined with the fact, there can only be 1 CV per game (we are talking hightier here anyway). Past 3 days ive had 5 rounds i think in t8+ with a huge skillgap obvious in the CV - sometimes for me, sometimes against me. Imagine there would only be 1 BB per side and one side gets a Border-hugger with HE only and the other the superunicum. We´d see equal threads to this one in the forums, im pretty sure. Sometimes it can be very frustrating, ill add my experiance from 2 days ago. I was in Mahan, enemy team had a superunicum div of 3 with Shokaku. While our CV was busy breathing through his mouth trying not to suffocate, their CV kept atleast 1 squad over me for all the time. There is little to nothing you can do, especially when your teammates are so afraid, that theyd wish for additional line 11 on the map. In that moment I came to think: What if planes wouldnt spot torpedos? My last action of the round was a desperate torpedorun on Belfast & Kutuzov in smoke not even 5 km ahead of me - ofc they dodged cuz they saw the torps even before they hit the water. Those are the games that are broken cuz of CV-skill from minute 1.

Well I think the point was rather, that balancing shouldnt make each and every class equaly usefull, ending in a potato-mash, rather the opposite. To make them outperform the other classes in some specific scenario, while beeing outperformed in yet another. Something like rock-paper-scissors, which is so often used as an example. Now, I admit, in World in Conflict f.e. this could be accomplished much easier than here (cuz every class pretty much had their own terrain, only support and armor would share open areas. But I disagree that reaching something like this would make play everyone for themselves. Right now we have very very limited teamplay going on. There is only a handful of DDs that smoke the team, only a few CVs will spot DDs constantly f.e. eventho it is very benifical for the team and thus for themselves. Ive seen way more teamplay in World in Conflict (sorry, I have to refer to this game a lot to get my point across), public, cuz each roles were very different on one hand but could support each other on the other hand. Airplayer could f.e. use some of his points to get a transportchopper. Totaly useless for him, BUT he airlifted Infantry across to map to points, theyd never reach or couldnt reach that quick. That Infantry again hugly benefits the Air-player, eventho he appears weaker cuz he only has 4 instead of 5 combatunits. Or a supportplayer using repairtanks sticking to friendly tanks, constantly healing them - list goes on. We dont really have interaction between classes here. How about we take the Heal away from the BBs and give it to cruisers, so that they could heal the Team with a range. That should be fun. Oh Im going to be hated for saying this. Its not even a serious suggestion. But still funny if you think about it.

Ok granted @El2aZeR You are right about those 2 restriction, i can tell you perfectly why. Heavy Artillery was an option for Support. Any supportplayer spawning 2 heavy artillery had no more points to spawn ANY heavy-Anti-Air thus letting the team die with 100% certainty. Also they usualy stay at the border of the map, cuz the heavy arty could shoot so far. Sounds familiar? To put it into wows perspective: those players were even worse than Border-hugging-BBabys shooting HE. The restriction on medium helicopters was, cuz they hardly had any other job but harrasing the heavy choppers aka the real Air. 2 Players entering a publicserver playing medium AA only would leech huge amount of points (and often still lose) and the enemy Air-player had not a slight chance. There were a lot of Air-players pissed with this option, thus many Server owners ristricted the usage. Very offtopic but ill make the turn now: I wish there would be an option to change the gamemechanics in private servers in wows. It would boost competitive play. Many many games with an active Competitive-scene have those options. It would be awesome for wows to fine-tune those OP-effects very skilled players get from playing certain classes, f.e. CV. Just limit the numbers of available squads, or limit the duration of smoke - the possibilities would be endless.

@El2aZeR Showing your deep lack of knowledge (or deliberatly trying to spread wrong info) of WiC, yet commenting on it and trying to turn it in your favor, I cant take any of your comments made on other games serious, wether I know them or not. I suggest, nobody takes you serious on this....

Support was incapable of opposing air? Do you even know the game? Btw. easiest round were when enemys went Armor/Air only. It would be called "full potato" in wows language. Edit: For everyone reading that doesnt know World in Conflict: Support was the class, which had mainly and exclusively Anti-Air-Vehicles. It was the role to counter Air. And that guy says, Support cant counter Air. So much for that argument.

Easy. World in Conflict.

Can Yorck Withstand Eight (8) Maass Torps?
ForlornSailor replied to _HomTanks_'s topic in General Discussion
@L8viathan : I just remebered this video. -
Yea I use it all the time in Cyclone its OP as fkk. Best thing if u stay with a pack of BBs, I let one ship get 2-3 km ahead (its easy with nowadays lemmingtrains), so he spots and when I see a nice target on the minimap Ill even announce it in chat. The other guys must be like WTF?

Can Yorck Withstand Eight (8) Maass Torps?
ForlornSailor replied to _HomTanks_'s topic in General Discussion
I once hit 3 Fiji Torps on the (obviously saturated) nose of a Emerald that hat 7k left. He survived. And killed me cuz I was paralyzed in front of my screen going WTF?. Another time I took a Torp with my Mahan having less then 2k HP. I already said goodbye in TS to my divisionmates--- just to find me still floating. So yea, doesnt make sense, but what you describe sure does happen.7 Edit: if you have the replay, upload it. -
GZ test II or Graf Zeppeling testing elsewhere
ForlornSailor replied to SteDorff's topic in General Discussion
Then you havent seen anything yet. I saw a FdG drop from full health to 1k in one attackwave. I had to ask the guy to really get confirmation, that it was only the GZ who hit him. It was true. He raged until the end of the round in chat and I cant blame him. Was a GZ I tho. -
Yes, I actually do if you are willing to read and - more important - understand what im tryin to tell you. And where do I attack you in that post that you quoted? PS: Nothing in life is free. If you want contribution, you can pay me more then I make avg per hour and Im sure gonna train you. You aint gonna be a pro from that but I sure can teach u quite a bit, looking at your performances
-
Me a troll? hardly. But what do you want to hear? You did the same rant over a half year ago. You didnt improve obviously, you can post as many screens as youd like. The reality is: half of the player population is above avarage and therefor wins more then 50% of their games - even if only 50,00001 - the other half is below avarage. Its simple mathematics. So maybe the game doesnt suit you and you hit your skillwall. There are worse things in life. What would you do if you get diagnosed with cancer. You still think it matters that if you win 45, 50 or 55 matches out of 100? those 5 to 10 wins or loses in 100 games is actually the difference between 45% and 55% winrate. Get a grip. Many people have told you - for the 2nd time atleast - tons of usefull things to improve. Yet you quote me. interesting. Now either get better, learn to live with the fact that your performance is what you are capable of or search for a new game.

We are getting closer. Now you can add a good 1k of players that are below 30 battles - as we can see here : https://eu.warships.today/vehicle/3763255248/Belfast 1128 Players with 20 to 30 games. so we are at 11.000+ already. There sure are another 1k below 20 games, pretty sure. NA adds 4,5k, RU 2k and ASIA 4,3k. Thats around 22-23k Belfasts sold. Now I dont know what they sell for in other regions but on EU price we are past 600.000 €
-
The page name suggests 2 months, but the numbers of matches played dont really add up if compared on warships.today. Also: those 2000 are only EU Server, for Belfast there is 821 more on NA and 1579 more on ASIA. And im not so sure how huge is the number of non-active premiums. You might be underestimating that with "not that many". But i can only speculate on that too, unless I find better source of numbers.
-
Well yea. But those 2 are obviously no. 3 and no. 4 of best selling Premiums. And those 2000 players are only the active ones in the last 10(?) days. Not sure how long that is tracked, not more then 14 days tho. So there are more then 2000 players that own Kutuzov. Im trying to find actual revenue numbers for wows. I found them for World of Tanks, but nothing else so far. Would be interesting, would give a bigger picture.
-
Guys, you can stop talking. I doubt the OP is reading any of the comments at all - might they be as constructive as they can be. Just a random bob with his crazy opinion that is never gonna change anyway. Ppl like this never gonna learn. They dont want to. They think they are doing awesome. Edit: If you want to read more of him (like if you are bored at work like me right now) then here: He should have really just stopped playing back then.
-
Thx. I found this: http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/20170909/eu_2month/average_ship.html Only covers recent history but gives you an impression. Mikhail Kutuzov most owned russian ship with 2000 players (was obvious through battles played already) and 1729 players with Belfast. Times 30,80e ... Altough Tirpitz has 4124 and Scharnhorst still 1883 Players. Those are pretty much the moneymakers. Even Saipan is no where near those numbers.
-
Sure they could do that. But somehow I have the feeling, that Belfast might be the ship, which brings the most cash to WG. (there is no way to check how many ppl bought what premium, or is there?)
-
What else do you expect? You think they´d admit it does overperform? If they would the would need to do something about it, which means they´d have to refund a lot of ppl most likely. So yeah, lets just lie about it, sweep it under the rug and nerf the global mechanics from cruisers a bit. This way Payfast gets a lil weaker and screw the silverships. Hey, if you wanna play decent T7 & T8 cruiser, can always buy Belfast or Kutuzov right...
-
Next stop is 12 games, such much I can confirm
-
My pleasure. What I meant with that short sentence, is pretty much what you describe also. BBs were given more and more tools to stop playing on long-range and get more close to the enemy (strong secondaries on KM BB - lowered citadell). Now, they gave RN BB incredible detection range and super-heal - also tools, that I think were given, to make them get closer to the enemy. (This is also what I meant by trying to change the game instead of letting the players decide how to play). Now what I meant by "on the expense of someone else" is this: Those BBs that will do much better closer to the enemy than other BBs will deal easier with old-line BBs that played always aggresiv and cruisers that supported their DDs. I have an good example from a few days back. It was on Land of fire during midgame. The enemy had capped A/B we had C. We managed to kill the DD that was around B and a Benson was pushing to get B. We saw a french Saint-Louis in the Cap and I (Donskoi) decided to stay close to the Benson and engange the Cruiser. As I commited to the fight, all of a sudden 2 BBs pop up within 14 km of me, making full use of my broadside. Thx to the quick reaction of the DD (he smoked me up, which is rare enough) I managed to survive a little bit longer than I first thought, but the FdG just pushed in and used Hydro. This is an perfect example of too many offensive tools on BBs. concealment + awesome hydro so that they can ambush on my expense.

Detection debuff change suggestion
ForlornSailor replied to Admiral_noodle's topic in General Discussion
Agree. this needs to change. @Deckeru_Maiku suggestion is good. @Admiral_noodle also good.everything is basicly better than the current solution. -
I was about to ask that guy the same question. @Exustio Yup now referring to name calling and total derailing. You were tryin to made a point using facts that are not true. Thus your point itself is invalid. And show me where you are manning up to your mistake. Is it, where you insult me, tryin to make me look like a nutpicker? Oh and btw, before telling ppl to add something usefull to this discussion you might want to take a goood look in the mirror. Ive posted plenty of actual usefull stuff, where as you... spread flase information twice and ranted of me in you third post. very constructiv. pathetic. If you want to adress me further, I suggest you use private message system. No need to try to make yourself look smart, this has gone down the drain.
-
Yea sounds good and reasonable so far - until you realize, it comes at the expense of someone else. The way I see it is: Devs should give the Players tools. Finding out how to use them, is up to the players. Many games before have totaly derailed cuz Devs thought, they know better, how the game must be played and tried to "fix" and "enforce" a certain playstyle. Might well be. We shall see.

Come on why are u embarrasing urself so hard? You got the internet infront of u. Look it up before posting... This alternativ-facts-thing has really become popular since Trump isnt it?
