You are right about that. Sadly. Bit isnt it funny & ironic that we are having this discussion on the "black friday", a worldwide shopping event literally invented to praise capitalism & stupid money spending? Oh Id love to see the exact numbers for this, but guess we will never know for sure. I tend to think also, that premiumships are the moneymakers, but having watched newbs playing on twitch & burning through money, im not so sure anymore.
-
Maybe you dont. Enough ppl are. Exactly. You cant buy them alone, because this way, they make more money. In the bundle, the effective price per game is 1€. laughable. Still, there are ppl doing it. If nobody would buy it - those bundles wouldnt exist anymore. And If I tell you, there are ppl that spend 10e for dublons to exchange into credits to buy the B-Hull for Izumo - would you belieave? If I tell you, that there are ppl, that click five time per day on the XP to freexp-conversion and use dubloons, so that they can get faster up the silverlines - would you belieave? Still, these exact things ive seen in the last week only. Go to twitch and watch newbs play. You will lose your mind, im telling you.

Clan Battles have nothing to do with beeing "professional". Its just another gamemode, period. You are suppose to invest money to play. Thats the entire drive behind WG making this gamemode - so that players spend money. Why do you think ranked battels exist? To make ppl buy premiums. Why do you think the Tier of ranked changes? To make you buy more Premiumships. WG noticed, that ppl with throw money in to get up in silverlines. Thats why T10 CB. Again --> Players must spend money. It always comes down to this. Whenever you start wondering anything about the game, check first = can it be fastened / avoided by spending money? And you have your answer.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
ForlornSailor replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I was exactly having this thought in mind yesterday! But makes ofc sense, combines with the other things you listed. -
Oh I know. I didnt claim to invent them. My point however is - the missions, that ive listed and those that kind of, that @Belustigungspanda listed, are bad of the game. They encourage stupid gameplay, anti-teamplay and things of that sort. Especially with those "Kill XXX Ship" missions around you see people holding their shot, just so they are not on reload, when the enemy is weak - gotta "secure" aka steal that kill. Ive litterally done suicide runs with Takao, just so that the round is over for me after 2 mins but I got 5+ torp hits. More effectiv then to play 20 mins carefully and get a 0-4 torp hits (on you own screen, you have 12:34 played and 4 torphits - Ive managed 8 or so in <3 min with Takao). But man I got that mission done in 20 mins of gameplay, isnt that amazing? No, shows how stupid the missions are.
-
Can all this reality-nonsense-talk just stop? It has nothing to do with the game, whether you try argueing for or against it....
-
Yep. All missions that are designed this way, are absolutly stupid. I fully realized it last year when we had "kill 20 russian ships". Me having ONLY played russian ships and wanting to have that mission myself - I can tell you, most aweful weeks of wows. I was literally 22km away from the front cuz I got spammed from everything, hiding somwhere on A10, while my own team was 15 km ahead of me, nearly bumping into those ships, which were shooting me. Ofc they didnt care to shoot each other - my team was busying shooting the other russian cruiser on H1 . Everything that goes like "kill 10 *shiptype goes here* - deal 500k dmg to *put nation here*" etc are the most stupid missions EVER!- Why dont we have missions, that make you play for the objectiv or teamplay? Cant have that no can we? "Get 100k spotting dmg - As a DD capture 10x - Spot 50 Torpedos" w/e. There are so many things you can think about. Why use brain when come up with genious stuff like "KILL 20 XX SHIPS".
-
Good joke(s)! I was nearly laughing.
-
I was going through the replys, looking whos gonna beat me to write exactly that :D @TrewSx You said it yourself a few times now - you lack the knowledge about what ship brings what to the table. Thats why you lose encounters with them. And then u think, someones gonna take this topic serious? I could also say "Man screw this Yamato, it hunted me down in my khabarovsk, cuz he is faster then me" someone would call me out, pointing my a$$ to the FACT, that the khaba is infact way faster then the Yamato. So im suppose to say "Oooh look its like WoT Forum, nitpicker". Aye....
-
Yea. but you know, IJN line is old. Its obsolute. Everyone has it, nobody will spend money on that to buy themselfs up as fast as possible. PADD is new. Is OP. Loads of $$$ to be made. Just to be clear - this is not opinionen on how it should be, this is my conclusion on the "balancing" im seeing.

I do understand it exactly like you. With Juliet Charlie you cant detonate ever, no matter what other stuff u flag. -
Yea I have one. Division up with a RN BB. Let him spam HE on a target. Once you see, he used DCP, rush in and torp him. You´ll get your damage. If u do a suicide run and torp from 1-2 km your chances of hitting increases. You might die, you might lose the round but youll get the mission done :p

Ill get your point. But two things: Hydro is on cooldown pretty often and there are a lot of not so skilled Cruiser-Players. Also, many players dont follow whats going on with the development of the game, so they dont know about DWTs coming up. So while the assumption might be true for you and me, cuz we know about it, know what to expect and how to deal with it, many others dont. And it will effect it. I can alos forsee DDs dodging DWT. Yea... you take yourself way too important. Funny is - how many ppl pretty much said the same thing then I did before to you? But Im only here cuz of a "personal vendetta"? Might it be rather you...me thinks? Why not? Also, 80% of german BBs are usualy hugging A1 to A10 or one of the other outerlines, so they deserve to be torped anyway :p DWTs are the next-level-gimmick that WG came up. Ill have another prediction for 2018: Premium BB with low draft. So they avoid DWTs. Only 80€. Mark my words.

He didnt say that... You get pissy when you think, @Capra76 interpretes your post wrong (which he didnt anyway, from my pov), but your entire argument is based on something, that isnt there either?
-
So you agree it will make Cruisers life harder. Thus its a nerf. So you agree with OP. Then why argue against it? If the impact is 2%, 50% or 0,2% is inessential. You want a video where I throw torps into a Cap twice with a delay of ~30 sec into a Cap, where i thought, there MIGHT be coming something? Nothing was ever spotted there before, nor was the cap contested at the time i launched Torps. First 4 torps = 2 hits. didnt knew what I hit, still it wasnt spotted. 30 sec later: 1 out of 4 hit, I was already 14 km away. another ~15sec later: Flooding kill Admiral Hipper. Maybe you dont... others have the third eye for it.

Pushing aggressiv for a Cap and / or beeing too far away from support in the start is a bad idea with Mahan. Take it slow, spot for the team, might even use your smoke for the team. I used to always give my smoke for the team, but with the recent smoke change, this is gotten hard, it can actually hurt your team. Ppl still think, they are invincible and will stop broadside in the smoke. You want to make sure, your team stays alive, so sportting enemy torps is a vital job. Once the enemys start getting lower in numbers, you can be more aggressiv. Then, the Mahan is a good gunboat. If its the other way around, and the enemys are pushing, stay calm, kite away, throw as many torps at them as you can. If the enemy is chasing you, the slow torps turn into deadly weapons. This. And This,

So WG, let's discuss the changes in the game and your plan.
ForlornSailor replied to C4PT41N_0BV10US's topic in General Discussion
The list goes on. Im done too. Sadly, it doesnt matter. Ppl like us dont matter. We dont put enough money into the game. There are litterally people, that spend 10€ for the B-Hull of Izumo, then throw it away a week later. Or slot and un-slot modules for dublons on Amagi, just to see if they can be used on another ship they have. -
Confirmed, sadly. The same goes for premium consumables - I did run premium DCP + premium Smoke on Fiji, played one round - next round I had Premium Smoke but NO premium DCP. Impossible to be my fault, even if I wouldnt have selected credits as auto-resupply, Id have enough dubloons for that too. Can also happen to camouflages. That im 100% sure also, cuz before the round, I switched from my Type 5 to a Battle Hardened I think, and all of a sudden im blank.

You think its coincidence, that most of the time its on full HP that you explode? Hell no. And you think its conincidence, that I cant buy this flag alone? So if I dont really want to spend money of flags, but only want to get rid of detonations, I could get away with a few cents? Hell no. Might be a good idea. Hell yea! -
While I agree, you both see one side of the medal and are clerly right, there is also another side. Some people will not make credits even with premium camo. But for them T10 is still "the goal". So once they reached T10, they will never go back. Ship locked cuz no credits to repair? Buy 30.000 Dublons, convert to credits ingame = problem solved for the next month. It hurts only once. Ive seen one guy transforming 2200 Dublons to Credits (thats like ~9-10e?) to buy a freakin B-Hull on Izumo!! Something, he is gonna throw away again next week. Next round, he performed so poorly, that he needed to use Dublons again to unlock the Izumo - didnt made enough to pay the shipsrepair. *Edited

And a dozen ppl told you and explained to you, why you are wrong. But since you obviously cant count, you neither understand the math behind it, nor what is a dozen. confirmed again.... you need to stop...
-
Thats interesting. how come, ~30.000 players a week on T3-T5 range with a +/-1 MM can have INSTANT matchmaking, but ~950.000 from T8 to T10 (I dont even count T7 which would be getting into T8 matches aswell) have to wait, when limiting to +/-1 mm? Explain that logic. What class did you skip math? Count to 10 for me plz...

Yea, there are some snowflakes in this thread. I just read a post of one a few sec ago - care to guess who that was? The sweet sweet tears of a guy whos unfair advantage got taken away. Keep it coming, it feels so good.

The problem is, that its by definition a cheat, not a mod. Nothing you or I can do about it. Read it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheating_in_online_games I suggest the part about ESP. also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mod_(video_gaming) Putting a skin on your ship = mod. Making the water purple = mod. Turning the looks of your torpedobombers into butterflys = mod. Beeing able to put your aim exactly on the position, where a ship went into smoke = Thats the X. no question about that.
