Little fix here. Then we are good to go.

    22701 battles in a year.

Nope, cuz then I must say 30k+ - look at the link of @Commander_Cornflakes Also, it pretty clearly states "a single player in one year". / un solo jugador en el ano. Hey, I can add one, just by mixing a few of your examples around. How bout: 5. Eat on the toilet (gonna save time, you can squeez something in and something out while the game is gathering enough players at 5 AM)

Good point. Giving up so easy also will stop you from becoming better. Ive learned a lot from situations, where I was outnumbered. Or... how about just give 100% always and in every situation - turning a battle around or becoming a better player overall will yield you way more credits / XP / Wins in the long run then saying "eff it, i quit".

That, however, is very true. Losing those rounds would suck, I agree.

Yea, and some folks like to get the most out of one round. On that matter, I would even like to see the 1000 points barrier removed. So many rounds ending, cuz enemy team didnt cap and lost 6 vs 0 ships. Low credits, low XP, low damage for many in the winning team. Just let the game continue. Only a few more mins and the winning team can get some more out of that... Also thats usualy why CVs survive. I cant count the times, Ive had a CV in sight / half dead / already permaburning down and CLICK 1000.

You really fail to see the other side of the coin? A BB now not hidden by a smoke was before a stealth-firing thread to - BBs aswell. Its actually one of the biggest threads to a BB, not knowing, that there is another BB hiding in the smoke and you might be giving broadside to that. One of those glas is half full / glas is half empty things. You gotta think the whole thing through. A buff cant be just a buff, its only a buff if it comes at someones expense. And just for the record - I personally dont think it is wrong, that a BB thats a few km behind a smokescreen and is like ... lets say 12...14 km from the nearest enemy .. is hidden by that smoke. I really loved to throw double-purpose-smokes when im in my US DDs. looking, where are the enemys, checking, where is my team, and laying a nice cover exactly inbetween. Then I happily go infront of my own smoke, spot, and watch the enemys melt. I literally had rounds - one game Epiccenter comes to mind - where I did nothing else then this. I even stopped for almost 2 mins infront of my smoke, nearly the entire team used my smoke and enemys were crying. All I had to do was spot targets, spot torps and then come back for a new smoke. WG took this away from me, playing US DDs hasnt been the same since then.

...Thus cutting not only you own income short, but also the enemys. In roflstomp-rounds its hard enough to gain credits - especially on high tier with non-premium. Dunno why I would want to resign if loosing? Just go out there, do some damage. Good for credits, XP and stats.

    Happy New Year

I would have stopped by now. Just do something else. Even vacuuming the house is sometimes more fun. ^^

Did you reboot PC? Check firewall setting also / add expection. No connection points to a firewall blocking the game.
  11. Always had the feeling, Moskva turns like a brick. Also, I felt like Donskoi didnt turn better then Chapa, despite the game telling me otherwise. Makes sense now...

Well, but now, BBs have the option to stealth fire. All ships basically still can do it. What he talks about, in the sense of a Buff for BBs, is, that the visibility was hugly changed for them in the same step. Before, f.e., BBs had huge gunblooms and in a few cases a higher base detectability then their shooting range. This changed BB-Play massivly. What happened to me once, f.e., wasnt possible before. I had a 1vs1 against a Lion in the end game with Donskoi. RNG was on my side, he didnt get good hits and neither fires, while I managed to shoot him down pretty good. It was a matter of a few salvos, when I noticed - he stopped firing and turned. At a distance of around 12 km. He could still see me so my options where limited. Everyone should know that in a chunked Donskoi I couldnt broadside and / or go in the open while beeing focused from a BB. So he returned after zombie-heal with 30k or something health. Yea, thanks. With old detection values (or with not-stupid decetability on RN BBs for that matter) - he would have been dead 100%. Thats true. If you want to be really correct, its a nerf for everybody - depending on the situation. Or you call it a buff for the guy that profits in that situation. There are really both sides of a medal here, and it goes for all classes. Then again - when was this really a thing? You saw good divisions do this from time to time. Also, its situational and depending on the map. Its just not effectiv on all maps for a BB to be completly stationary and shoot from that point in the Smoke. Also - a BB cant fire that many salvos during the smokeduration and last but not least - you need a ship to supply that smoke. Using a DD for this is... not the best choice. He is usualy needed elsewhere. RN CL? They usualy need to be closer to the enemy then what a BB feels comfortable - especially in the early stage of the battle. Torping the smoke has also been a very effectiv countermeasure. A BB with Kutuzov however... that can be nasty. And that is actually one of the few upsides of the smokechange. Pretty much you can only do this to RN CLs players, that are clueless or havent adapted to the smokechange. Or if you are undetected yourself. But then again - then you always had the opportunity to surprise the RN CL. When I see a ship moving in to spot me - ill just silence my guns. Happens quite often, that someone wants to use the changed smoke-detection against me - it worked only once, and that was not the intention of the enemy DD, he just happened to be near me. I, personally, wouldnt go for the proxy spot. If the RN CL in the smokes knows, you are detecting him - you become his prime target. And he knows you are there - visible or not at that moment. Shooting the smoke while he is undetected is still the best tactic. It gives me much much more headache then a DD, Cruiser or BB rushing my smoke to proxy spot me.

13.8 km. horrible in other words. Definitely not with the Moskva. I personaly enjoy Chapayev. Downside is: bad matchmaking. But with radar and detectionrange of 10,x km its a super fun DD hunter. Its also decently tanky, not exactly like Budyonny, but when you get T6-Matchmaking (happens once in a while) you can really shine.

Is there any smoke haxes out there?

Sure, there are those cases. I´d even agree with you, that they are more often then the "real deal". But then again, there are the cases, where this doesnt apply. So you need to look at each case unbiased, if you want to be taken serious. Do we have enough evidence here to make a correct conclusion? Clearly not. But one note I have to make about this discussion here in general: Experiance from other games ive played - the ppl, that are most vocal about "how cheats are totaly impossible to exist in this game" (and I dont mean you by that, Philijd) and giving you pages of wannabe-explainations, are usualy the ones getting banned for cheating at some point or another. Again, experiance, ive seen it happen oh so often.

Ah I think now I understand where the fuss comes from. My point is, that Id like to have a new class ingame - as in a new tree, a seperate line. Thus Id like the game to make a difference between Battleships and Battlecruisers (or however you prefer to name them :) ). So f.e. Scharnhorst would move to this new tree, aswell as Gneisenau. The wrong paper-implementation of the mainbatterys, as you noted, is ofc not helping to make such a change... I get what you are coming from. And Ive never doubted the increase of shipsize. It is something visible even way before WWI. However, for this very game, this is all really irrelevant. All you have to look at is to roughly place ships of same size, guncalibre and historical time in the same Tier. But as we all know, WG sometimes bends the reality already so there is nothing you couldnt work around. From the point of gameplay I´d say in between Hindenburg / Scharnhorst are the closest to what I have in mind. Tanky vs BBs, faster then BB but slower then CA, more dmg potential per salvo - especially against BBs - then a CA and accuracy between BBs and CAs. So they could face a BB using AP without beeing send to Nirvana in 1 or 2 salvos but at the same time cant devasted Cruisers themself in one salvo. Imo it could make the game more versatile, moving away from this heavy BB meta - if done right.

Doesnt matter how you call them. Wikipedia follows my classification pretty much. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlecruiser Pretty much irrelevant. Have you looked what Displacement f.e. Bellerophon had? ~18.500 tonns. Ships grew over time, nothing new in that. The armament and speed of Gneisenau & Scharnhorst due fit the class of battlecruisers rather then BBs. All a matter of balancing and putting them into the right Tier. Scharnhorst would fit much better on T8 in a class on battlecruisers - right next to Bismarck, Tirpitz & Hipper.

Well, it does come at an expense tho. Full AA-build on a cruiser with IFHE is not possible anymore.

    Free XP Advice?

I have a few questions: Why do you convert if you have 830k of them? I dont understand the logic behind it. So you are doing bad in the CV on T7 and think u gonna be awesome on T10? Without learning what you do wrong? Just cuz T10 is "better" then T7? Again, I fail to see the logic. But its another puzzlepiece whats wrong with T10...
  22. ForlornSailor

    fiji and going forward

Thats pretty much true. T8 matchmaking - especially for cruisers - is a nightmare. 70-80% you are facing T10.

    Explain this one to me

The best thing is the "odd bullet" BBs often spray. You can see them as BB and also as the cruiser, if you pay enough attention. So dodging / baiting doesnt work sometimes, even if the cruiser player doest everything right. That odd bullet, thanks to BB dispersion, will hit the citadell no matter what. BB dispersion is something so wrong overall, it jsut pisses everybody off. Guns so strong and devastating, that WGs only idea to make them so, that they not one-shoot everything, was, to make them super inaccurate. Which sometimes work in their favor. But usualy fails to deliver, especially against other BBs - ofc... Only yesterday I got an Iowa broadside (me Missouri), 3,5 km, perfect angle. I didnt score 1 cit - wut? 3 bullets even overpened. I wanted to just stand up & walk away from my PC in the middle of the battle.

Dont take ContradictorPomPom serious, he leaves comments like this in every thread. Yea good that you saved that money. Atago is so powercreeped these days, you can sit behind an island and hope something is in range for you... Its a good pick if you want to do torpedomissions done tho. Just yolo from the spawn to the places, where the BBs usualy gather. Brought me the fastest 90k dmg every. Well and prolly the shortest round ever aswell. So much this. Besides from that - I also never fully understood, why BBs shall have heal always and cruisers only on high tier? I mean, why cant every Cruiser have a heal.... Problem is, with the low playernumbers on high tier cruisers - T7+ Cruisers arent that often Toptier. Its true tho, when they are toptier, they perform a lot better. Even Chapayev can really shine and make a play when there are only T6 BBs. But thats once in a blue moon... Actually, I really wish we´d had a class like Battlecruisers in game. Seperate from the BBs. It would prolly be my class. But for that, we need clear cuts between Cruisers and BBs first. There are a ton of Battlecruisers (CB), that could fill the gap between CA und BB. Scharnhorst & Gneisenau should be rated as Battlecruisers, the US had the Alaska, which I´d love to see in the game. Moskva would be one, obviously, which would give the opportunity for a better end of the russian line - one, that would fit the gameplay from T6 to T8. CBs would have accuracy between Cruisers and BBs, lower Health then BBs but faster. Fast guns aswell. They would also be a a better counter for BBs thus fighting the overpopulation. But I think im dreaming too much... before that, we prolly see a 3rd line of russian DDs.
  25. ForlornSailor

    Maby it is time

Yea right... cuz Cruisers and even DDs are totaly immune to torps.
