Im sure there could be a limit set. good idea. Id rather see something like 4 per minute? @MrConway ? What are the odds to see any option of limiting this in the future? Either block those pings from certain players or limit the times, one cando this per round / minute?
-
I wish we have the option to block those map-pings - imo, it would be more useful then blocking chat! I dont care if someone rages (at me) in chat, its easy to ignore. But this map-pinging... Also I agree, I dont think, a human can click like this? I dunno, I never tried but... you cant spam with that speed to have the entire map highlighted?

Weird. Everytime I play a radarship, I push so hard, some people would call it "overextending". Thats camping for you?

Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

I wanted to point out, that that Iowa looks way worse when I saw the pic. The best things are, BB divisions shouting "D" on spawn - you check, where they are: ofc, they spawned at A. Then, one DD goes D, caps it, leaves the cap already, cuz enemys ignore it - 4 mins later, you find out, that the BB-Division has made it into D. well, almost that is. They are now steaming around the island towards D. Can someone programm "Cruiseship-Simulator" for them? I think, I had 3 games the last week, where the enemy CV was spotted very early on - once, he even died after a few mins. Needless to say, Ive lost all of those rounds. Some ppl go nuts, once the CV is spotted. Why? You have won already. -
Can it be any better ? Tier X, Tears of the Desert, epicenter, 2 cv, 22 bb. And ofc 2 low tier alibi ships.

Im pretty sure it wasnt @wilkatis_LV who invented the nick "Clubson" -
Good point. Some others will read this and open their wallet for sure. well done @Ukio You do realize, that pretty much every BB you will meet in your Yamato can do this to you, right? I guess you didnt. "Me haz T10 BB. Iz Yamato. Iz stronk. Can not sink. NEVURR"

Graf Spee is an awesome ship isnt it. Many ppl dislike it, but if you are a cruiser-player, that is used to play careful and always wished for more damage in one salvo and little bit more tankyness - thats your ship. A little tip on the way: Graf Spee does even better, when you division up with a good DD or a Leander. They have the potential to carry entire games.

How can you not inform yourself about the campaings you are starting? I mean you obviously managed to find them... activate them... READ the requrements to pass each stage... but the most crucial information you ignored? I always check all the details about a campaign before starting it. If I know, I cant make it due to time/difficulty/ships needed to pass - I wont bother. easy as that.

Cyclone and Neptune - A super bad combination
ForlornSailor replied to ForlornSailor's topic in General Discussion
I wish I´d have a choice -
So im recently playing a lot of Neptune. Even with the harsh Smoke detection (what is it exactly - 6,4 km?), the ship is quite strong. Now I had the luck of getting into quite some Cyclone-games in the last days, and I have to say: this is not an enviroment, you want your Neptune to be in. F.e. an enemy ship surprises you - he is now 7,9 km away from you. You dont really have an option, depending on the enemy, you might have none. Even if you are moving with your fleet, going carefully within 8 km to an enemy, smoking up and trying to help, its often futile. It takes usualy only seconds, until something steams within your proximity spotting range and you are again target no.1. So I´d like to hear opinions of others about Neptune & the detection range in smoke. My personal view: it should be lowered by ~1 km, somewhat to the range of Edinburgh and Minotaur.
-
While I dont doubt this is completly true for you and others too, I dont think, you will seriously doubt, that many ppl actually payed money to get one, two or all of them. Or havent you noticed the explosion of Missouris after WG announced the ship will be removed? And you think all of the Mushashis today have been free XPed? Dont want to get into the whole "is it p2w or not" discussion but your point... isnt a point at all.

Cyclone and Neptune - A super bad combination
ForlornSailor replied to ForlornSailor's topic in General Discussion
Yea, you are right about that... its downright nasty. First time I realized this is possible, was, when I was steaming in Cyclone like ~11 km to the enemys, a friendly Des Moines next to me, who kept on shooting.... Also crazy: Radar. Just shoot from 8,1 km+, no need to put yourself in danager for the time beeing. You play Donskoi + Missouri division (i know, there can be even more crazy combos) and imagine the enemys go "wtf?" in front of their PCs. Also wrong imo. -
Reporting seems to be increasing as of lately. I got reported in my Missouri twice - cuz I had almost full HP 5 mins in the game and didnt suicide like my 2 T10 BBs. Cleary, im doing it wrong.
-
Nope. Well, in real life sure. And in other games too. But in world of warships - definitely not . It gets more frustrating, when you inform your team at the start of the round of a very skilled enemy CV, and give them friendly advise, what would be a good counter to not die instantly. I also agree very much with @NoirLotus. I think, his conclusion about the Kaga is spot on.
-
The thing is: the game is already complicated enough with all the different values. Smoke detection the way it is is already overcomplicated for many. Your idea would add to that. Also, the guy using radar, could never be 100% sure, if there is something in his range or not.
-
The "best" I managed was 9 kills with a 2-man-division (and a loss ofc), while 1 enemy survived. Frustrating games, all your efford for nothing.
-
yea.. d´oh. And it wont. And it shouldnt. So whats your point exactly?
-
I dont want to come across harsh, but do you really think, Videogames should be adjusted, so that you can play your Yamato on a Tamagochi and still dodge torps?
-
How would you improve the skill of player base?
ForlornSailor replied to Rautainen_Biisoni's topic in General Discussion
You think thats crazy? Look at my screen. So its ranked, we have an Edinburgh, and I ask him, if he runs Smoke or Radar. Cuz I want to know if I could use his smoke to my advantage. He says, he has them...BOTH. He even insists after I tell him, that this is not possible. For all the ppl not familiar, attach my port view of Edin... its Radar or Smoke... -

Cant you just upload the replay? Talking about scoresheets is... meaningless. -
"Pull" versus "Push" based game design. Conclusion.
ForlornSailor replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
Haha, yes, very good example and indeed sounds silly. You dont really see topics like these around RPGs, cuz to a very huge degree ppl accept the class-distribution and all the ups and downs that come with it. Many ppl in WoWs dont. Small exeption would be MMORPGs with a vivid PvP-mode, there you can actually find some "class XXX is too strong against class XXX when skilled like ...." topics. But those are often cuz of real balancing-issues, due to heave stacking / combos of skills, focusing on PvP only. Yes, the classic roles of RPG cant be copied to WoWs - for many reasons. I always have problems, when ppl use the rock-paper-scissor argument or are saying, that a BB represents the Tank in from RPGs. While drawing that conclusion makes sense on the first sight - highest healthpool, best armor, self-heal - it doesnt on a closer look. When a party in a MMORPG is on a raid, the Tank will draw the attention of everyone, getting all the focus. You simply cant make the other team shoot on the BB. In RPGs, there even exists skills like "draw aggro", so that every enemy around you WILL focus you. Now you could argue, that what aggro is in MMORPGs is concealment in WoWs you could even go and look at push vs. pull, in the sense, of what the video explains. Then the game would need to give BBs worse concelament or in return (even) better concealment to other classes. This is however not whats happening. Over the past year(s) we have seen a development in the other direcion. In many ways, im all in for that. But the same, what Ive said above, also applys here - the game moves into a different direction. AA for everybody or Smoke removed as a teamplay-mechanic are 2 examples. Maybe thats your whole point tho. I agree. There could be mechanics implemented, to change that - area heal? Radar, that only gives sight for ships nearby not 20 km away? But, on the other hand, when looking at random gameplay - the team, that manages to use teamwork more, usualy wins. Thats why Divisions have such an impact on Winrate. Good divisions often play their ships to their advantage and help each other out - be it spotting, smoking, focusing one target. Bad divisions dont and multiply their chances to achieve a loss. -
But .... you dont have to buy it? Its not like you are missing anything... I dont understand whats wrong with it, really. But yea, I have an idea for you. Maybe you can suggest, that you could select a camo, that you like from the look and then add the modifiers you like. Each modifier is 1000 Dubloons and price doubles with each modifier. -3% detectability - 1000 d add +4 dispersion - 2000 d add +100% XP - 4000 d add +50% free XP - 8000 d add +50% Commander XP 16000 d Then you can build your perfect camo and it would even look the way you like it.

A has become the absolute coward-cap on Trap. I really really hate this map nowadays. The team with less cowards win. Plz, WG, remove caps that are behind Islands, seperated from the map! Or remove the islands there. A on Trap is the same as D on Northern Lights. -

Atleast they offer different boni. I personally welcome that. Would you be happy if it were +100% Commander XP? Just wondering.
