I play a lot of radarships and I can tell you this much: its highly situational. Also, its often a complete teamplay mechanic. Where as Hydro will be used for yourself and as a bonus can spot torps for your team, you often want to give your team the advantage from your radar, cuz you couldnt make use of it. F.e. you will be next to an island, where you know, an enemy DD is in radarrange. If I would push out myself, enemy BBs would blabb most likely blabb me before I could take out the DD. So you use radar, mark the DD as a target, and hope, your team takes it out. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. The real 1vs1 situations, Radarcruiser vs DD, are rare. If they happen, its either a misspositioned DD with no backup or very late in the game. *sigh* I was explaining the differences in Meta. Go back, read again. How do you manage to quote a part of that without reading what Ive said before and after that? Do you understand the concept of an example? You want me to compare each and every ship cuz - as I said again before that - you arent capable of looking up facts? dude? I literally said the exact opposite. But since you ignored it earlier, here you go again: Are we having a serious discussion here or is this some kind of "lets ignore what the other said & quote me the entire wiki from wows, else I wont believe a word you say" thing going on?

And the replay in this thread proves exactly this. The red CV had a good round aswell, do not forget this. In a somewhat "normal" matchsetup, its very rare, that both CVs will score way above avarage. Both CVs are top on the scoreboard here.

I couldnt answer that... Personally, when I play DD, Hydro is more annoying, cuz its a mechanic that can deny me otherwise almost certain damage. Also, Hydro on some ships is, when used in the right situation, a complete gamechanger and a "I win" mechanic. This would be german DDs and the Lo Yang f.e. Well, I only listed those 3 as an example, to show, what I mean. Its not limited to those. We can all browse the wiki and draw conclusions from that. I dont think we need to quote stats of ships back and forth. The thing is - there is also a development in DDs. Compare the Farragut with the Gearing (or Fletcher for that matter - same goes for the other DDs lines). Farragut like Gearing has a base concealment of 7,56 km. Needless to say, Gearing can (and usualy will) slot the concealment module. But the torps arent 2x4 with 6,4 km anymore but 2x5 with 16,5 km range. Since you have stated so many question, answer me this one: Why do you think, DDs need to have the capability to roam free with stealth torps on T8/T9+ and can not have it on T7-? Why is a counter - which still doenst stop them from stealth torping btw - just to make that clear - not ok?

Radar starting from T5? Sounds like a plan. Ppl could get used to it more. Im in for that.

Agree. I dont think you can answer the question like this... Cuz you would acknowledge, that the only difference between those tiers is radar, which it isnt. Its one factor among many. The ships are so different, there are many on the higher Tiers, that will punish any missplay instantly heavily (Montana, Des Moines, Minotaur..), DDs get better stealth and hae no access to a huge number of long-range torpedos (Shima, Gearing etc), which is compeltly different on lower tiers. Its basically en entire different Meta. You could even talk about the maps and ofc the way, CVs influence the game on lower vs higher tiers. I think it was @Negativvv a few days ago, who said in another topic something like "ppl learn, that if they play too aggressiv, they will die quick, so thats why they get more careful / campy as they advance to the higher tiers". And that is certainly one thing, that influences the way, ppl play. A few days ago, I had a T9 game with 0 Radars on the enemy team. I did pay attention to that and even mentioned it in the chat. Also, we had Shima+Lo Yang - enemys only had Khaba. This would have been a game, that according to that logic, should have been an anwesome aggressiv game for our side, cuz our DDs could roam free. Yet, the Shima never capped - matter of fact, he killed 2 of our ships (including the Lo Yang) with 20 km long range torps. So, how could that go wrong? If you gonna say "individual missplay". Yep. But same goes for everything else, what we see happening. Why we see DDs smoking & stopping, when they face a Lo Yang or german DD? Or matter of fact - face a Cruiser with Radar? Cuz those ppl do not understand core game mechanics. Should this behavoir be catered to? This question has been asked many times before, in different kind of topics, with the goal to lower the skillbar. And the answer - as usualy - is No.

And the meta on high tiers is inexperienced players just running away from each other like idiots When the enemy team has 10 ships alive, and I can shoot my guns in Neptune while standing in the B cap, something is wrong... Ill take this thought a little bit further. A (huge?) part of the playerbase does not understand the economics. We´ve all seen the last standing ship runing, going stealth, not shooting, cuz he doesnt want to sink. I remember once occasion, not long ago, enemy BB, last man standing, asking us in the chat, to please not kill him, so he doesnt have to pay repaircosts. He was then happy, to go into stealth - while matter of fact, he shot his own foot. So even if the economics change or if @MacFergus idea would be implemented - it would hardly change anything. Much truth lies in this statement: So, I think, most of us agree, that high tier is very campy. And its exactly because of that. The reality is more like this: Contrary, to what is often said in the forums, people are learning. But they are mostly drawing the wrong conclusions from what happend. -

You know what - you are comparing apples to pears. Want to have a good example - here it goes. Ranked. Im in Chapayev, we took the early lead but then our BBs let the enemys come, cuz they move away from shooting the caps and hide behind the islands. All but one Bismarck that is, fighting brave against the entire enemy team. Im trying to focus the DDs and stopping them from rushing through the cap. At some point, me and Bismarck see, that resistance is futile (I took like 18k from an Alabama to convince me). So we kite back from the cap, which is now going to be capped by the enemys. 2 of our BBs stay behind the islands still, doing nothing to prevent this. The third enemy BB has flanked us (questionable, if he would have been with the rest of the pack, I would have been dead for sure) and is in our spawn now. Me and the Bismarck have no other option, but to fully rush the BB in our spawn (who has full HP btw, while we are both at 40-50%). Im still beeing focused from the BBs in the cap behind us and im lucky to be able to dodge most of the damage. Nobody is shooting the BB in our spawn exept me and Bismarck - nobody is shooting the ships capping either. So what are our remaining 2 BBs doing? you will see in a moment. We 2 manage to grind down the BB ahead of us (he fkked up his DCP, I got 3 fires on him) and he is down to ~3k Health. ALL OF A SUDDEN - shells fly over me. The absolutly first salvo, cuz I would have seen them going over me. Boom, 1 of our camping BBs grabbs the kill. He turned his turrets 180°, away from the main enemy fleet, that was litereally <10km away from him to shoot ... I can only guess... something like ~19 km on a BB - that was ALREADY dead - cuz of 3 perm fires. This, my friend, is the definition of kill stealing, ignoring teamplay and, last but not least, a poor attempt of trying to save a star. Saving a star from the start of the round tbh, not even trying to win. -

That would be SO awesome tbh. It always leaves a bad aftertaste, when you have done "all the work" (that impression can be subjective ofc ) and it doesnt show on the scoreboard. -

Havent you noticed? Ppl say "A/B" or "B/C" in chat, but what they really want to say is this: "Im gonna go A and sit behind the island. Someone else can take B." And then the rest of the team ofc thinks exactly the same thing. -
I suspect, the group of ppl doing this, isnt really visiting the forums. And even if - I doubt somebody would admit going afk on purpose. So it might be hard to get an answer on that one. Personally, I dont feel they should receive a ban right away. A message might do the trick in most cases, if an account shows weird behavoir. like letting the guy know "we saw would you did there, its not cool, you will get punished if it continues". That might stop a huge part of those ppl from doing it again.

The (lack of) logic and twisted logic in your posts... starts to mess with my mind. I cant even put it into words, how you are a) right with that statement b) how this statement completly reflects on you and c) you completly fail to see this. As I concluded before: You dont like, that there is a counter to your DDs, that you cant control. You already have the best concealment and are faster then all other classes. Also, you have a tool, to hit enemys without any risk of getting hit yourself. I told you before - play low tier DDs. There is no radar. But then again, the torpedorange is limited. Conicidence? You still dont get it do you? Every advantage needs to come at a price. The number of torps and their range on high tiers vs. Radar. Radar is a teamplay mechanic. If the radarship in your team cant use - tough luck. Its like the DDs that you sometimes get, that dont cap and dont spot. Then the enemy caps without any counterplay (if there is no CV; they are rare anyway) Remove DDs? Bollocks. Ppl go into my radarrange all the time. Ive radarded 3/3 DDs with my Donskoi in one of the recent rounds. And 15 km away? So in every round with radarships - nobody ever caps. right. Cuz that means "moving within 15 km to a radar ship. Yep. Had ppl like this also. But hey, what do you expect? One of the famous streamers starts putting things into ppls brains. He said it atleast twice in the last days "I just want to go to port. I dont want to play this". This is encouraging ppl to show this behavoir. Imo - not, what someone, that gets to test upcoming ships and has a high standing in the community, should advertise.

I saw that. Yep. the Kagero is already missplaying by beeing that close to the cap. completly unnecessary. He should be closer to J1 by now then to the cap. Needless to say, the enemy Cruiser is in a hopeless situation. He had no other option, then to cap, while itself that move was futile. Only think he could hope for, was, that the enemy DD missplays. -
Nice twisting of words. Is that your credo? You seem to do it quite often. Funny side is, that you literally say, the other team is pushing offensivly, but you talk of a "camping meta". Where is that mean radarship, pushing you out of the cap 2 mins in the game else coming from? He must be camping on A10 right? How can ppl not understand, what they are writing themself, amazing.
