So WG, i thought this shouldnt happen?
ForlornSailor replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Absolutly. WG - are you reading this? I think, this really sums it up. You cant really "win" in this constalation, so to say... Well. Basically, one of the enemys threw exactly this argument at me. And directly at me; you´d think he would target my CV-Divisionmate, right? Well, maybe cuz I shot down 15 of his p2w-planes and hit his precious CV with my shells. Oh crap, was that naming? No, but seriously. You might think this is a whine-thread, but we are trying to get somewhere here. There was another topic only a few days ago about divisions + CV, where the point was "CV Division OP". Here we see the other side of the medal. I´d like to see the people, that usualy show up in CV topics, saying, a CV will oneshot any target he wants, to come here and ask @DFens_666 and the red T5 CV about their experiance in this match. Discussion about CVs are hard. Some ppl will show up, blaming CVs for starvation & the next World Wars to come - some ppl come in, and will defend their favourite class no matter what, cuz they know about their strenghts. Its hard to find a common ground to discuss and admit, that CVs have very strong points while having really shortcomings at the same time. And Ive always said, that the current MM rules for CVs are wrong. CVs need to have a +/-1 rule and it needs to take divisions into account. This is not a statement for or against CVs - it goes both ways. A T8 CV is useless in a T10 game, while the very same T8 CV has the time of his life in a mostly T6 game. A +/-1 mm rule for CVs (+division) wouldnt even cause really problems, unless I miss something. A T6 CV can still be placed in a T5-T7 range, like current MM would do anyway. This, however, needs to stay: else you could abuse the system by picking, say T6 CV + 2x T7 ships and you would be guaranteed T5-T7 range. @MrConway @Tuccy please take notice of this discussion. The bottomline is "never bring a T5 CV into a division" - and this should never be the case for any ship in this game we all love, right? -

I just have to say, the conclusion of this would be: is: dont team up with a T5 CV as a T5. Imagine, I would have taken a T4 BB.... An actual fail division would be better of. Even if there is the same type of fail division in the queue - whats the worst thing, that could happen? T6. Or did I miss something? -
I just have to do this.

Hey, just today, someone told me im an "Idiot" and a "looser", cuz he has 1800 games + 99% WR in Co-op! I didnt figure it out - clanmate had to lift the secret, that he was refering to co-op! Thats the REAL challenge in the Operations. Usualy, im happy, when they move in the right direction...or move at all...

Had the exact same thing about an hour ago.

This case is brought up because those are the times, when you really curse WG for removing manual attacks. Needless to say - our T VII was useless? And on top of that - I got insulted for beeing a "dirty sealclubber". WoWs at its best. -
Thats an resectable opinion. But keepin mind - the X will still give you this information. Thats why many ppl are... confused... about the decisions.
-
Keep defending your X. We all know EDIT. PS: Only 3,25% more WR and you would be at my level. I dont need any "X".

Encountered small bug in displaying ribbons. First, I hit the citadell of the Ranger, ~0,3 sec later, the next shots set a fire (the 0,3 sec between the two hits are visible form the reloading indicator fpr turret Alpha and Bravo (9,4 - 9,7 sec). Both ribbons are displayed over each other. The Fire just went on top of the cita (the small black border is visible and the text is messed up, cuz it overlays).
-
omg... so since every cheat is a modificaqtion - there are no cheats for online games. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheating_in_online_games The X on the minimap is an ESP if u want to be more specific.

Thats taken from wows-numbers - https://wows-numbers.com/de/player/540427929,ForlornSailor/ -
There is a clear deffinition of "mod" and a clear for "cheat". By your logic - if I code something for myself, and wont tell it to anybody - it can never the officially disallowed. So its ok.

Had the pleasure of running into 1 "speshuul" person in his obviously first game in Scharnhorst today. I tried to make him play useful in a polite way (seriously tho) by not running away from the enemy ships. Which he answered with insults right away. And he wasnt done. -
Those speedtests dont really say anything about the connection between you and the wows-server. You could to a tracert to the Server IP to check.
-
Mods that offer an advantage arent mods - they are cheats :) By definition, a mod can never be something, that offers you an advantage.
-
Umm... you need to understand, what a cheat is I guess...

The part with the Yamato is sure working as intended. Stupid, but thats how WG wanted it. With that I could live (not completly, later more on that). If the part, where the Takao steams around the island, is working as intended - im not sure. Might aswell be, that WG forgot about such situations. But now ill give you something to be confused about Agree Agree There have been so many different suggestions on that matter. But I dont think WG wants to concider them. They seem to like it that way. Id like to see guncalibre in cm = gunbloomtime. 152 mm would be 15,2 sec. 380 mm = 38 sec. Still very favourable for the BBs and only a small buff for DDs and Cruisers. Since we all know WG just <3 their BBs...
-
At this point, im not even sure, if a fix to the fix would put things straight. Lets say, my idea of "override current detection rule by smoke always". Who knows what that will cause in return... This thing has gotten so complex, its pretty much out of hand. And if we learned one thing from this topic - its exactly this. Look at the wall of text that was needed, only so that we understand each other, what part of the detection in which situation we are talking about. And then you have to remeber and concider all of this during a battle. Come on WG... give me a break.
-
For some ppl. performance is wins. For others, its damage. I do not concider damage performance. Why not? Then again, I dont concider WTR to reflect my performance. So we seem to meassure performance pretty different.

WG we dont need any more radar and hydrophones on literally every ship!
ForlornSailor replied to SovietFury43's topic in General Discussion
You seem to be equally as surprised about that as I am. True. This would really stop nowhere. Spotting mechanics changed like this would lead to ... utter chaos. Ships blinking, vanishing, dissapearing & popping out of nowhere left and right. How could you mark a target? Half of the team wouldnt see it LOL. Imagine the rage in chat "WHY DID NOBODY SHOOT THE WEAK DD" -"what DD?" "YOU ARE ALL BLIND". complete chaos & confusion. Do you need more examples @Berk_NL -
So basically we are on the same page. Yea, I concier that. But that is pretty much the normal LoS/smoke-rules. Just to make myself clear: I dont disagree with you, on how the detection works or has been working. Im argueing, that WG created something wrong with this change. And I can show you exactly (I just returned from the trainingroom, Im sorry, but I have to bombard you with screens once more) what I mean. Call it poor design, call it illogical. Doesnt really matter, wrong is wrong. Or do we need to argue about the correct grammatical term for it =/. Now I will show you, whats wrong with it imo. I did infact construct the situation again to show it. Picture 1 and 2: Im closer then 6,6 km to the Yamato, shooting it from the smoke, taking it down. Check minimap - gunbloom shows 6,6 km, im detected. Working as intended. https://imgur.com/sgVbW11 https://imgur.com/yrw3DiR Meanwhile, the Takao is behind the Island. He has no LoS to me. Picture 3 proves this - im without smoke, if he would have LoS, he would be detected aswell. https://imgur.com/mySKYL8 Picture 4. Takao steams out, instantly detecting me. Without ever having LoS towards me when I shot. https://imgur.com/xdmy4Ie This is precicly what happened to me - it doesnt matter if im in smoke or not when killing the Yamato. Zero. What gets even funnier - I only hurt myself when using smoke. Cuz the Yamato disappears from my vision, once he isnt shooting. I didnt take a screen from it, but I had to kill the Yamato from my smoke while I couldnt see him. In a "real" situation, 2v1, it would actually happen the exact same way, even when the Yamato is shooting at me in my smoke. Since his reload is <20 sec, he would vanish from my sight while I stay detected always, due to my fast reload.

WG we dont need any more radar and hydrophones on literally every ship!
ForlornSailor replied to SovietFury43's topic in General Discussion
No its not... By your logic, we would have to make every ship only visible to the ppl that have LoS to them. That includes: you cant see the Cruiser behind the Island, that your DD is spotting. You cant see the DD 14 km away from you, that your DD is spotting, cuz the DDs gunbloom - which defined the detectionrange - doesnt reach to you. Basically, the BB in the spawn sees ... nobody :) With the expetion of other BBs on the other side. Amen to that. -
Im crazy about numbers myself but... First, I would need old data to check against. Second, this sounds like a lot of work. And then again... Any conclusion wouldnt really help now would it? It wont change the reality, that we hardly see teamwork, we see a lot of BBs hugging the border, Shimakazes playing Khaba... *list goes on*. Threads like this one dont help (maybe it helps the guy posting, cuz he can vent) but looking for stats does neither . Or would you feel better, when a friendly Gearing torped your Minotaur from second line and he is cursing you for getting in the way of his torps, if you could say "ah well, overall, player performace has improved by 5,2% in the last year"
-
Oh yea, I agree on this one. But have you really checked that its not the case or are you just putting your claim against the claim of the OP? Just curious, Im not on any "side", if that matters. I´d go so far, that by getting better yourself you tend to notice more mistakes in other ppl so you might feel like "there are more bad players around". Bad play might have been always there - just you didnt notice. I second that what @DFens_666 said. This happened today. I tried to give helpful advice to 2 BBs, not using any bad language, not demanding, not offensive in any way. The roma in question was missplaying hard, while we had all chances to win. But he answered to me im unpolite... rude... I should play alone... I can screenshot the conversation if u dont belieave it. Bottom line is this: Most ppl think, what they are doing is the perfect thing to do. Else they wouldnt do it in the first place - right? So its hard to accept advice, especially from a complete stranger. Thus your logic is flawed, sorry to say. Oh and on top of the Roma-example. I have another one from today: A Des Moines and Moskva sitting next to an island DEMANDING me to smoke them, so that they can shoot on a Yamato, Zao and Kurfüst on 8-10 km (heard of smokedetection? Guess not). I even tried to get close to them, to provide cover. However, torps came from the front, making me turn, then planes spotted me. So I smoked up myself. Punished Zao for 16k, Yamato for 48k and Kurfürst for 45k. Then Des Moines called me an selfish a..... and started to shoot me in my smoke, until I was dead. Oh ifyou think, I was a Gearing or something - I was a Neptune. We lost this one. I got TK:ed after 4-5 mins? (would have to look it up) with 109k dmg on the clock. We lost.

Just another example what Cruiser consumables on other classes cause for a chaos. Im completly with you on this one.
