That module is legit useless. Ive tested it with @DFens_666 a while ago and made a detailed topic around it. There is hardly even a difference, when a 152mm-cruiser is HE-spamming the AA-mounts of a BB. The thing is: low- and middle-caliber AA-mounts have like 160...320 HP. It gets doubled by the module but since a HE-hit usualy still deals more dmg with one hit - the AA-mount gets disabled either way. The only thing, were you could see a difference, were the big-caliber AA-mounts, like 100mm stuff. Then again - those often contribute only little to the AA-dpm.

    Destroyers and bad game design

Meh. Nowadays, this is only true for a couple of T10 cruisers. Legendary Module or ships with such high RoF, that they can easily spam-search behind islands or in smokes have ruined the days for Minotaur f.e. On top of that, people have learned to shoot in the smoke. With almost 1k games in RN CLs and decent WR, I think I can call myself a seasoned and experianced RN CL Player. Playing Edinburgh / Neptune / Minotaur is no fun anymore. Its not even close to what it has been, like one year ago. If you want to play a tanky T10 Cruiser, play Moskva or Hindenburg. Both still require their own style and you need to play accordingly at all times. Else you are just another oneshot for a good BB-player.

    Destroyers and bad game design

I think I saw you about 3542 times mentioning it and Ive wrote it myself a couple of times. It still doesnt come through. I sure as hell wont be rushing into a cap as the first DD anymore if this CV-gameplay is really going live.

    Destroyers and bad game design

Since he mentioned Minotaur in that post, that you react to: the T8+ RN CLs meanwhile have survivability rates lower then most DDs. They are getting blabbed left and right, since everyone is shooting at them in their smoke. It has become a pain to play them, especially Neptune and Minotaur. Thats the real fact here..

    Semi AP Ammo

I mentioned this point and called it out as a problem, back then, when RN BBs were about to be introduced. It didnt attract much interest and WG didnt care at all, and I think they dont up to this point. Havent heard a single word about it from an offical side. I came to think, that AA-mounts should (upon first hit) only be temporarily disabled, much like main guns and torpedo tubes. Increase the time, that they are disabled, to make it still have and impact for the next wave of the CV, but not for the entire match. But yea - good luck brining that point across to WG...

    Brushed under the carpet thread

Yep. With that in mind, wows can actually be quite complex. And it can teach you wrong habbits. Rushing a BB bow on in a Hipper works with some BBs, it doesnt work with others. When you dont know why it works, you might try it, get it to work, think you found a good strategy, try it again and fail hard. Or even: you take another Cruiser, because it worked with Hipper, and then it doesnt work anymore. So "learning by doing" is not always a valid concept in wows. And the problems is the following: Exactly. We have a few guys in our clan, that started to play wows only this year. And learning the game for them is like studying. What we older players picked up in small chunks over the years, they have to make up in a short time. Like new lines of ships. On top of that, they have to deal with ships from time to time, they have never heard of. You cant look at them in the tech tree anymore. Like Nikolai, Kamikaze, Belfast etc. To get infos about those ships, as a new player, you must use external sources. And thats wrong. This even goes for recent additions to the game. Tell me: where do you look up the armor values of a Stalingrad? How do you know: can I overmatch his nose? What armorsceme does it have? You can NOt find out from the game unless you own it. Its wrong. I personaly knew about this very early aswell, since I dont like to play "in the dark". But then again: theory and praxis are two different pairs of shoes. I started using angling as early as T3. Still, what I said above, counts here aswell: Game doesnt tell you. Game doesnt tell you about bettre AP on some ships, better HE on some ships, yet to mention things like Sigma.

WUT? Yea. I found his points 3 and 4 really... weird. I used to play 2xCA Divi on T10 and it was horrible. Your impact on the outcome of the match was... zero. Once we picked up a BB or DD, WR increased and games became a lot better. Im not even sure what exactly he wants/proposes? I fail to find any specific change mentioned :/

  9. Ah I stopped to care about these kind of comments. But I had a similar one from a Gaede when I played Cesare recently. I was literally with my bow in A cap when Gaede decided, that its a good idea to gunboat from his smoke. I mean, there is a BB providing spotting so why not, right? After his smoke ran out, he rushed ahead into A, still gunboating. All the enemys (like 4 or 5 ships ) focused him and he died pretty fast. Then I had to endure him going on for minutes, what a pussy I am. That he died because I "refused to tank" and that I can only "hide in the back". I was literally 1,x km next to him - not even behind him. He even tried to convince the enemys what a bad player I am. He got told to zip it from both teams tho. I really wonder how do you physically force the enemys to shoot at me and stop shooting at someone else? Its not like I can reach my hand through the internet, grab the enemys mouse and switch target. Some weird people out there, im telling you.

    Thats not political

    Reasons behind "Roflstomps"

If you want to be precise: the current "meta" of real life war is focused on wounding / harming the enemy as much as possible. Two reasons for that: a) A wounded but not dead soldier causes horror to his comrades around him. b) a wounded Soldier needs to be treated. This usualy involves way more then 1 person to treat 1 wounded soldier. A couple of soliders need to provide first-aid, others need to transport him, then medical staff needs to take care of him. A dead soldier doesnt cry, doesnt need attention and thus does not impact the other soldiers and the infrastructure of the army. Its the sole reason why NATO switched its ammunition from 7,62 mm to 5,56 mm in its rifles. 5,56 mm ammunition causes severe injuries, because it tends to stay inside the body without killing the person, that got hit. 7,62 mm often flies through (overpenetration anyone?) arms/legs, causing only minimal damage OR kills the soldier right away. The "meta" of WW1 atleast was completly focused on killing the enemy by any means. WWII was somehow different in that sense. Hard to say when and who had what in mind. Looking at the "Operation Barbarossa" from the germans, they focused on capturing enemy armies. It probably was easier and faster this way then to kill them in battle. Somehow this talk feels wrong tho.

  14. ForlornSailor

    Reasons behind "Roflstomps"

True. And there is more to it. I have a theory for that, which is supported by my experiance/stats. A good DD can only do so much aswell. He can spot (sometimes hard in hightier matches), he can get some torps in to pull enemys DCP. But if nobody acts on your spotting, nobody follows up with damage after you even tell your team "hey, THIS BB has used DCP, shoot HE at him!" - then what you gonna do? When I play DD in a Division these things work our very good. I spot for my mates, I mark the targets, which have DCP on CD and they can profit from it. I tried to play exactly like this in Ranked f.e. - doesnt work. Check my stats. I lost games where I had 130k+ dmg and 3 caps. No joke. Im obviously too much of a teamplayer? And maybe THATS part of the problem, why a unicum DD might be, well, useless in some games. I have a recent match in Ranked, where I checked WR/PR of both teams. It looked similar to yours. We basically lost to a bunch of 40%guys while having ppl with 57%, 54% and so on on our side (besides my 2 man divi with 60%+). What happened was this: We lost 2 of our 3 DDs in the first minutes (3rd DD was in my Divi). Both our DDs were ~55% guys. They went in the caps, smoked up and got torped by 40~49%% enemy DDs. Our 50% Cruiser beached full broadside to a 40% Kongo and shot AP at him, even tho my divi-DD has marked that Kongo as "has used DCP" because of torp hit. Kongo escapes and blabbs the Königsberg right before that. So we lost the caps, lost 2 DDs and 1 Cruiser a few minutes in the game. Then there was only so much I could do. I had 3 BBs trailing me (one was 38% guy) and they all spammed HE at me (Cesare). I had no option but to kite. We actually manage to kill them, but the points are running out. My DD buddy has no chance to contest the cap, but he is forced to. One Mutsuki, that uis forced to deny enemys points, cuz they are at 800+ against Gremyaschy, Okhotnik and Acasta. They 3 all defend the cap. You can play as smart as you want, you aint going to turn anymore. Atleast I dont see how.

One of the funniest sprint ranked games

Before I watched it, I was thinking to myself: "cant be worse then what I experianced". But actually: Its a perfect copy. On the same map, also south spawn (whenever I spawn south, I get the biggest , while when I spawn north I just roflstomp). I had a DD that camped behind the island, doing nothing. Our team started flaming, then a Okto started to shoot at our DD, turning pink. At some point, the DD rushed out, straight into a König, missed the torps byy like 4 km (no joke) and got blabbed. Meanwhile. The pink BB turned his ship around and went afk to EXACT the same place your Kongo went to. AND needless to say: we would have won that match if only 1 of those 2 super would have played. IMHO: those 2 guys from my game and the 2 guys from your game need to be permabanned. They shouldnt, under no circumstances, be allowed to play this game. period, no discussion.

Replay? If the ship is spotted on the minimap but not visible, something is wrong with your client. We had a thread about that not long ago. Some people suffered a 10-15 sec rendering time. I had myself rendering times up to 7 sec. Changed some graphic settings and now everything renders instantly.

    Brushed under the carpet thread

Now you guys gonna get it for discussing moderation. But im absolutly with you on this one @Redcap375. Agree. Even as a solo CV you need to be really good to get "easily above 60/65% solo" as he said. I´d go even so far to say, if you only look at "normal" silverships, its impossible to get anywhere near 65% solo WR. I´d really like to see someone doing 65% solo with QE/Omaha/Minsk or something like that. You read this more and more. And you also notice it ingame and in the forums: known names are missing. My own clan is basically 404, because everyone is fed up with the game. And the argument, that its normal for people to get bored of a game after playing for so long doesnt seem to add up from my observation: We have guys, that have been playing for years with 4-6k games aswell as people, that are pretty new to the game but have been very dedicated. Someone, that played 1500 games in 6 months and spends a lot of time on twitch/yt/wiki is hardly someone, that just tried out the game for fun. Its rather this: I could not agree more. This is absolutly draining the fun. And when you follow many of the complain-threads, they boil down to this problem. BBs complaining about beeing HE-spammed, DDs complaining about too many radars, Cruisers complaining about beeing oneshotted too easily from BBs. And you know what? They all have a point, as much as people here telling them to "gid gud" or how bad they are if they cant deal with those things.

    Radar Discussion Megathread

Im absolutly with you on this one. Playing Neptune/Minotaur these days, you dont even have to make a mistake anymore to get killed. Tried it again 3 times the last days - its nothing like it has been like a year ago or so. Shooting into the smoke has become a common tactic and many/some (observation bias kicking in?) BBs will even prefere to shoot at a RN Cruiser in smoke instead of shooting at a BB that is closer to them. If you call it a mistake, that I noticed a moment too late, that a Yamato was turning his guns towards me, while I was in my smoke shooting something else... I even noticed it and stopped shooting but he obviously already had his mouse hoovering at the point he wanted to shoot so... there went my last 29k out of the window. Having said that: it happens to DDs more often aswell. Just yesterday I was finishing a Budyonny from smoke with my Fushun (had to do it, my team collapsed and my division had other priorities to shoot at rather then a 5k budy) and this guy right away turns his turrets to shoot me... He even managed to trade the 5k evenly. crazy. In both examples, the enemys shooting me in my smoke cost us the game.

    stealth firing? render bug?

It looks to me like the Shorchs is deliberatly shooting exactly from his max range and since you are moving sideways to him, you leave his gunbloom range the exact moment he shoots. This is something, I demonstrated already over a year ago, when gunbloom-mechanics changed. Every ship can do it under the right circumstances. For everyone else, that is interested in to investigate: I made some screenshots. He actually gets spotted once for a brief moment, as you can see on the minimap. I think its when he sends his first salvo. The Colorado actually has island cover. What spotted him first was the Farragut I assume, which Yolo´ed to his early death (what else is new) and thus the spotting ceases.

  23. No :) Thats true. Although not all communities have been awesome all the way. There are always some people that cant behave. I´d also say, the community is overall pretty ok:ish here. The nature of how the game is build makes it easy to blame other people, thats what encourages the toxic side in people ingame. But the forums here are a good example, that we have a lot of decent people in the game. In other communities, the offical forums were a sh!tfest with daily bans. There, people of different clans would jump each others throat just for beeing in different clans. Childish beyond believe. But communites can change. World in Conflict was a good example. In the starts, it had one of the nicest communites I ever experianced but 2~3 years later... it was absolutly horrible. The game died because of that. Ah well, and because the devs ignored the developments. Some people spread their toxicity on pubs, vote banning every player that could touch them and the Devs ignored the calls to change mechanics, to allow this kind of abuse. Ok, now im going off-topic, but we should be actually happy, that things like this arent possible here.

  25. Ranked has nothing to do with what is suggested or what I mentioned. From OP PoV, Ranked is exactly the same as Random. And not sure what / how you played in csgo, but the size of the community there makes a comparision impossible. I played in games with communities, that had a comparable size to wows, some even smaller. There, the most active clans knew each other, gathered on private servers all the time and mixed teams. Good times. If you want I can skim through my old screenshots and show you, how that looked like. You see nothing else then "gg" and things like that in the chat... That would be somewhat an alternative to a private server. You´d need to remove any rewards as in ranked aswell, since else some tryhards would just manage to fail their way through that aswell :/ But I suspect, that it would be hard to find enough players for that? An alternative gamemode, with many levels for each tier that would only attract a small part of the community...
