Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
ForlornSailor replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Had the pleasure of having @Major_Damage225 on my side. In coop actually, where we both escaped from the weekend-madness on randoms . Was my first round in Shinonome and looks like a promising ship. gg mate -

The thing is: there is nothing to argue about. You are right all the way and we all know it. -

They say a lot of things... On top of feeling burned-out with the game, I also feel burned-out with the forums, sadly. Its nothing more then a place to rant. You can be as constructive as you want, make reasonable posts, argue, use statistics with nothing but the goal in mind, to make a better game for all of the playerbase - WG doesnt care. They simple dont care. They do what they want when they want. Its futile to write here. I dont even know why im writing right now? Lets be honest, do you think, this thread will change anything? Even the slightest bit? -
I guess I have every right then to tell you, that you obviously have no clue what you are doing. Covering the CV with a Neptune?? Smoking a BB with a RN CL?? Your team did call you out for a reason.

Now im not an expert in ramming, I usualy dont resort to that tactic. But in my opinion - I should have been dead here? No ramming flag was involved. I have no idea why I gave him more damage then I took.
-
Did you ever one-shot a Cruiser, when he was the first ship spotted 60 sec in the game, while he didnt even had anything in his gunrange to shoot atleast once?

Did ramming always work like this?
ForlornSailor replied to ForlornSailor's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the replies. Did some math, and when I calculate the damage given in relation to base HP - it looks logical. He is dealing 72,175% of his base HP (33489 of 46400) to me, while im dealing 73,144% of my base HP (35914 of 49100) to him. So... ships with more base HP should prefer a low-speed ram I guess? Maybe I can test this in a training room with some consistent results. -
WG, for the next events, can we PLEASE return to a situation where not everything is time-gated and drip-fed with ridiculously short intervals?
ForlornSailor replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Bump. This needs to be on the first page, until something is changing. People are getting tired of the game due to this! ffs, half of my clan is inactive and the only reason for that is: there is too much grind, forcing me to play every day! -
You´d think so. Its actually not bothering me enough, that I´d spend time to investigate deeper. Every 20...50 games a ping-spike of 4~5 seconds - meh. I can recall exactly one time, were it screwed me - incoming torps on my Moskva. I turn in but... ship doesnt steer. Im like WTF? then I see my 500+ ping and im like... It didnt kill me tho, else it would have pissed me of enough prolly haha. but...but... how to avoid islands then, when its off? They dont move, dont make warning sounds and are always in the middle of the way !!1
-
On the contrary: He is right. These ping-spikes for no reason do happen. I have two people sitting on the same connection here playing wows at the same time in the same round. Then, sometimes, one of us gets his ping to 200~500. Its usualy only a few seconds. Other guy has nothing, ping stays perfectly stable. Doesnt happen in any other game either. Whatever it is - its not our connection. But over here it doesnt occure as often as mentioned in the OP...

Is it just me or is this map unplayable since the rework? One thing is, that im thinking to myself on spawn "where to go..." but I usualy do find a nice spot. 90% of the playerbase however dont seem to find an answer? Im not kidding: I see a huge pile-up of players behind the huge island on C OR they stayy right away in their spawn, mostly aswell behind C. Your screenshots point in that exact same direction aswell. -

You missed the one game today. 2 DDs per side and we have a Gearing, that decides to stay in the back, hugs an island and when he sees a BB, smokes up and play gunboat. . Yes, I had fun as a Benson, when my opponents were actually playing for the objective and named Kagero and Shimakaze. Hint: check detection ranges. Many people pick BBs cuz they want to live as long as possible (or because they want to play the famous ships from history). When I play BB, I dont pick it because I want to play the strongest ship, but usualy, because it fit to my division. -
So both things, that we explained, do happen. No argument there I guess. I know its a coin with two sides. You obviously think, LoS radar will make it easier/better for DDs. I personaly think, its the other way. On top of that, I think, I will make it harder for cruisers, which in the current Meta isnt needed. Lets be realistic: If a cruiser basically has to suicide to kill a DD, where is the point? Might aswell rush the cap full speed going around the island, then I dont need radar. Again, I personally do this from time to time, when I know, it will pretty much secure the win. Did it last week with my Salem against Harugumo & Benson, killed them both but died to 3 BBs ripping me a new one. But before you argue about cruisers having to kill themself (I know what you are thinking: why should the cruiser take no / only a small risk, but the DD should die - am I right?) think about, who will benefit from situations like this? Hint: Its huge, usualy slow and sits in the back. As they did, when I rushed the 2 DDs - they are dead, I am dead - BBs get to play on.
-
Then say "I disagree" and not "no". Because a "no" is telling someone "you are wrong". Which clearly im not. Dont be rude yourself in the first place if you dont want to be treated the same way... As for getting shot at...

Yup, me neither. Especially, since we are headding more and more in the opposite direction. Today 5 games, I gotta say, they were all pretty bad. Once we got roflstomped without ANY chance (our division even managed to give us a HUGE advantage with 2 early DD kills), twice we roflstomped so hard, that I rushed with my Donskoi 3 BBs in their spawn, because nothing happened and I didnt want to end the round with 25k dmg. 2 of the 5 games you could argue were somewhat ok... one we actually had to fight against some decent opposition, the other was a case of "which team is more stupid?" - and in that sense, it was actually balanced. Is that the "balance" we are aiming for these days? You are right, that people will remember and thus complain more, if they have bad players on their side. Its human nature - selective. But for myself I can say: I dont have fun neither, if my team is so strong, that we just wipe the enemys and the game is decided in minute 2~3. I so agree about all of this. Its unacceptable actually. I get empty chatwindows and I dont know what that personen wanted from me. Today I was trying to add someone from a different clan to our division - they actually thought i was afk because it took so freakin long! First, I have to search that person. For some reason, this takes forever and shows me a million people with no relation to what i searched. Then I finaly spot that guy in the list, click him - and I actually got a total different person in the chat window? I actually did send messages to complete strangers, because I didnt notice, UI gave me the wrong guy! Well, not that it matters, since the UI will delete messages, as we all know. So yea, I have to start all over again. -
Uff. I think, you dont understand the point. DDs are usualy moving btw, they are not costal batteries. If im moving towards a cap (or at all over the map, doesnt need to be a cap, to be precise) and I pass some kind of island cover (again: that island does not need to be next to ME, can be next to a cruiser) while a radar ship in range has his radar active, I get this information and I can act accordingly. With LoS - I will just run into the trap. Funny thing: IT JUST HAPPENED TODAY TO ME! (it happens all the time. if you as a DD player do not notice this, you a) play bad or b) havent understood the power of information and thus - play bad. A Moskva behind an island radared my Benson on Tears of the Desert, while I was in cover to him. He saw I was contesting the cap thus he thought, I might be in his LoS. Or maybe he radared for the team. I got to keep the islands between me and the most part of the enemys, as I was actually steaming full speed to torp a GKF. With LoS-Radar I would have continued my path, got into the LoS of the Moskva with full speed and would have died. How hard is this to understand? current Radar mechanics saved my life. So there is no "no" from you, you just dont understand it seems. Thats exactly what im saying. Again - exactly. With LoS radar - you might not get this information. See perfect example from today. Or watch flambass play a DD. It happens almost every round. On the contrary: If I get rid of the DD, I can roam more free, since there is nothing that can outspot me anymore for the BB. Spotting is the most important mechanic in this game. Remove it = you win. So his argument does have a point.

Wrong. Because if you dont know, that there is danger, potential danger turns into real danger right away. Otherwise it stays potential.

Lets hope that "Alaska" will be FreeXP now that "Jean Bart" is Coal/Money and "Bourgogne" is Steel...
ForlornSailor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
You absolutly need a bunch of guys, that know what they are doing. Also, random wont work, since you have too many players, thus lowering your base XP. What you do, is this: Take 4 people, pick the right ships, the right operation and grind. This is how Dynamo works with 4 people. I got premium acc, all economic signals exept Hotel Zulu (50% cpt XP) and in that case Spring Sky camo. -
Cant someone help them? @MrConway @Crysantos

ForlornSailor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
IMO - it was pretty obvious. We needed a new steel ship (players, that have Stalingrad, have no real motivation to grind steel anymore?) and since it was T10... Dynamo prints more free XP. Although Cherry Blossom is decent too. And yea, given you have enough signals, 1 mil free XP in 7 days is absolutly realistic. -
Thats what I was thinking. Its true, its a 50/50 situation. Risky. It wouldnt have decided the game either way, imo. Yup, the Alsace played good. As did your Fiji and I feel the Ibuki was strong too and could have done way more with propper spotting on his side. Well, you did win your side, didnt you? Imo its a pretty clear win. Imo - the center only become a problem because the other side it doing absolutly nothing or is suiciding. I dont think it would have been a viable option for the enemys to push through the middle as they did, if your team would have been positioned decent on both sides. Imagine the Jutland pushing to defend with 2-3 ships from the other side on those 4-5 enemys in your cap. They would have been crossfired and would have no space to move undetected. Ever thought about it, that there should and absolutly must be things, that a DD cant counter? You are not suppose to have fun all the time. You perception about playing this game is just wrong and it shows. "I want to drive around in my DD, 100% undetected all the time and throw torps without beeing challenged". Its not how it works. Its not how it should work ever. Stupidity of the DD? I already told you, he played very smart and that his clan has a reputation. Matter of fact, I just now looked his stats up and he has 56%, even 58% on his high tier DDs. Something you cant say for yourself... He would have NEVER been detected, if it wasnt for the radar. And I say it again: It was a team-efford of 3 people - 1 of them not in my division - to get information to me on his position. This is how this game should work, its a teamgame. Teamplay should and must always prevail over selfish individual play. And yes, it absolutly IS a valid argument against LoS Radar - I couldnt have done it with LoS-Radar. simple. Everything else you write, is your personal opionion, but that doesnt make arguments invalid. simple. Also: Ive yet to hear any arguments from your pro LoS / against current Radar, besides "its broken" - which actually really isnt an argument.
