Thats what I was/am afraid about aswell. Then again: this might be confirmation bias. We/You now pay more attention, to what BBs do and shoot at and notice, they dont shoot DDs. Many BBs did ignore them before and how high the percentage of the playerbase is, that doesnt even know about this change, is a complete guess. -

Have a nice day. Ah ok, then I misunderstood. Yes, I agree, the priorities dont change and neither should they change. Yes, before the change, BBs truly were the bigger thread. Simply because of the possibiity, that they might score that big hit on you. Ive been playing almost exclusivly DDs after the patch and pushed my luck many times, simple because I wanted to see, how big the impact really is. Because when you think back, you are always biased. We do tend to remember negative experiances and forget the times, we got away. Lets just say, I either took my chances not too often before or the change was pretty significant. I had one "WTF" moment today, when a Lyon punished me for 12k (so 12 out of 16 hits, or something was wrong with the damage again). Talking about scary cruisers: Have you tried the IJN cruisers after the buff? Takao does deliver some really nasty blows against DDs now. I think 8/10 hits were my best salvo. It can deal really fast with DDs now. About those two points I do agree. They are true for most cruisers, if we ignore the high-tier russians. Then again; Moskva might have railguns but my experiance is, that salvos with significant damage to a DD are rare with it. -

But: We simply cant ignore the fact, that BBs have the slowest reload in the game (lets leave CVs out of this picture). Thus they have to deal the most damage per shot. We cant look at how much damage a Cruiser does per salvo and then say "oh, yea, the BB did more, nerf". Usualy its not even the case! Most of the time, the Cruiser does more damage per salvo then the BB. And he gets to shoot again in a few seconds. When you calculate the damage per minute - the cruiser will almost always win. How often does it happen, that a DD is spotted for 5...15 sec and the BB cant fire a single shot simply cuz he is reloading? And how often does a BB completly miss a DD? I had people telling me in randoms, when I constantly pushed them to shoot the DD with their BB, that they have no idea how to hit such a small and fast target. Sure, bad players, but its the reality out there. It can be very satisfying to be the meatshield - when you see, that your team can cash in on that! -

Well said @GarrusBrutus . I think the bottomline is, that in an f2p-environment, its very hard to implement rewards like that. Players, that cant get it, will naturally feel left out and probably picture the reward stronger, then it actually is. And players, that made the efford to get it, will feel betrayed, when at a later point its presumably easier to unlock those reward-ships. On top of that, such kind of hyped ships have a huge cashflow-potential for WG, as we see with Stalingrad. -
I rather ask myself the following question constantly: Why is atleast 80% of the playerbase playing like total egomanics? In randoms, most people dont care about stacking DoT, helping each other etc, even tho its the best tool to help yourself and help you win more. But since you ask: Id say a good start is to try and put yourself in the position of the other classes around you as often as you can. Like when you are a DD, ask yourself "what does my Cruiser need right now? Or what might my BB be concerned about right now?" Some sort of that basic question can be asked from the perspective of every class. BB: "which target is the most harmful for my DD? or for my Crusier? Which should I target to help them out?"

At the end of the day, its all a reward for WG´s business results. If you are not happy with that, you are prolly in the wrong game, then f2p isnt for you. Real skill rewards, that will be guarenteed to stay like that, are to find in games with traditional systems, aka pay 50€ and play or pay 9,95€ per month. -

Ok, this is going to be one of the weirdest reports ever, I think. Was browsing the forums and saw a post by @HansAndHeinrich and the name struck me: That was the guy, I was hunting with my Gadjah earlier today. And now I see his first forum post here, what a weird concidence. Well, lets go to the "which forum members have you seen"-thread and make the first report, that you saw someone in the forums that you played earlier against. So I want to post and see: HansAndHeinrich posted here - his 2nd post ever! Just strange :D Was a decent game I guess, not much you could have done better, concidering, what the rest of your team did. See & read you again Then just half an hour ago, had @Piruvato on my side. Game was pretty slow over all (high tiers eh) and 1 minute before the end I was at 4500 dmg. Managed to farm a little atleast. We had pretty nice teamwork going on there, taking good mapcontrol and giving our team the spotting they needed to win, I guess. gg -

Yes. @DFens_666 and @wilkatis_LV tested and confirmed it. Thats absolutly true, sadly. Just another reason why I dont like it, when they fiddle with gamemechanics. Soon we will see threads "I did a pen on DD but only got OP-dmg - bug!". And can you really blame them? In their infinite wisdom WG chosed to keep the pen-ribbon. Also, since you still are able to pen a Harugumo f.e. or pen with HE, its easy to draw the conclusion, something is wrong, when you get your pen denied on a Gearing or so. Yes I agree. But that ship has sailed? Imagine what changes we all would need to reverse... Anyway, limiting damage taken seems to be the way to go these days. First remove BB citadel, then limit DD damage and the CA/CL thing points to that direction aswell (also: french cruiser troll armor?). At the same time, WG increases the dakka-dakka. Its so weird. Like you try to bake a cake and you gone slightly off the receipe and now you try to fix it by adding more salt and more sugar, hoping, it will even out. -

Secondaries are great on Warspite, the HE isnt that great but the turrents turn way faster. Not sure if the AP is different? I think Warspite doesnt have the sAP from RN BBs? But dont nail me on that one. -

So uncalled for and immature. Its a normal discussion. I thought better of you, really... Like thats what usualy happens? We still have people trying to avoid damage because they want to minimize repaircosts. We still have people crying about CVs and at the same time never put 1 captain point into AA-skills. And, ofc, we still have people complaining about radar but keep repeating the following : rush cap - stay in open - smoke - wait - die - repeat. So where exactly do you see people using their brains on a larger scale in this community? Well, for the sake of the game? You know me, I like to point out these things, when I feel, it will make people overall play more stupid. Doesnt matter which class we are talking about. Bottomline. -

Personally, that would be again lowering the skill cealing too much in my book. If BBs just become untouchable without them having to do anything. IMO it should be a viable tactic to take the risk and rush a BB, if he has his main guns turned the other way, f.e. You might take a little damage from secondaries, but thats to be expected. But fending off attacks should still need skill and should have a reasonable chance of sucess or failure. -

Just to remind you: This thread exists, because DDs just got a massive buff. A Buff, which is an exeption in the core mechanics of the game. On topic: I deliberatly played a few DDs yesterday and rushed a few BBs. Worked out every time. Only one time they managed to get me killed - because the Kongo & Warspite I picked as a target shot HE at me. One thing to think about: What happens, if you make it unprofitable for one class to shoot at another class? Right, you will focus on another class. You can see it happening in BB vs BB/CA interaction. The decline in hittable citadells on BBs makes BBs shoot at Cruisers more. When a BB rather shoots at the RN CL in his smoke, then targeting 3 BBs closer to him (actually happened to me), then things are getting weird. But why wouldnt he? He got a sh1tload of XP for blowing me out of the water, what would have been the outcome of shooting at a BB without cita? And the same question will be asked in BB vs DD. What needs to be done is the following: - Fix the one-shell-two-hits thing. I dont care if its a bug/feature/logic or anything - it needs to go, its not good for the game, its not good for any class, that gets hit by that. - Change how (BBs) switch Ammo-type: When I dont have expert loader and I want to switch - why would I not just shoot me ready loaded guns? There needs to be a bonus even without EL and EL strenghens it to a workable level. Hint: 50% aka unsualy ~15 sec isnt workable. - I like @Gojuadorai suggestions. A pen should still be treated as such and gives more damage. 20 % sounds reasonable. -

Well, by making the choice to go alone or only with a division of 2 into the Operation, we already accept the challenge of random teams. We know enough people, that like to play OP to build teams of 4+ players. We´d even get more XP this way and a guarenteed 5 star. Infact, we do this in some operations. There are also people from time to time, that havent played and or that particular Operation ever before and ask in chat. And I have no problem helping these guys out, quite the opposite, its rather enjoyable. And here is, where it gets tricky: If experianced /better players, that dont need to play this OP anymore, stay away from random-teams: the balance of the OP will collapse. You have pretty much every round 1 or 2 people, that wouldnt pass the OP. And its ok, the team will carry them and you dont need 5 super unicums with great strategy to carry them, its enough if they do the right thing. And thats perfect, from a balance-PoV. But if more and more the team-composition swings towards 3 or 4 ppl, that have no clue what to do, then the percentage of failed games will rise. Which will lead to more experianced players not playing it anymore OR playing it in private parties. A good example: ultimate frontier. Are the task given hard, individually? No. But they require most of the team doing the right thing at the right moment, even more then Killer Whale. So random games fail more and more. They didnt, when the OP was new, since many decent players participated. Nowadays, when on rotation, its a constant fail-show. Thats why I dont play it anymore random. Narai is headding the same direction, which is funny, since you can do the OP with 4 people. And now tell me: Why (if I know enough people) would I want to chose to play with a random bunch, get a 50/50 chance of failing completly, ruining all my signals and my time, when I can simply go with a decent team from the start, have a much higher sucessrate and on top of that - earn way more XP? Look like, I dont have to deal with the difficulty, that you mention, at all. -

We know. But what to do when they refuse to sink? I´d gladly put them to rest myself but I cant.... Also, I was telling them: if you litereally ram something NOW (they had the chance!) the round is over and we have 5 stars! But no! people rather lose but save their Health. The thing is: that Cap circle is plain stupid. You can end the operation early, simply by placing 50% of the fleet in there. Some people actually go for that right away, in 1/3 games someone tells me to get back and move my [edited]in the circle - while im alone trying to sink the target ships! And some people even admit, that they dont care, they just want to finish the Operation in any way. like huh? Why even play? you gotta picture this: The equevalent of that mechanic would be a button in random, that you can activate only, when the score of both teams is even. It would end the round right away, resulting in a draw. You´d get people pressing that all the time with 00:01 in the game and if you´d ask them WTF was that for? They´d say "Dude, atleast we didnt lose!" -
