“Relief for Belgium”, 100 years later. Players helping players for crates.
ForlornSailor replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Wasnt my intention to compare it. It just reminded me of those, especially when it got mentioned, that people are responsible for their own actions and its their money and so on. They might very well be different, like I explained in my example earlier. But yea.. speculations... which is one of the points mentioned by Saiyko here: -

Thats EXACTLY the point. I dont think so. IMO, its the worst way for those people to get them. I´d rather have WG selling them again, breaking their word about permanently removing them (which they broke either way), then this. I start to be a little concerned, that you view on things is one of the reasons, why Belgium saw a need for a law like this. This thread starts to reming me of an old scam, that was around in daily newspapers way before Internet-times. It went like this: someone placed an add, saying "the 1000ths person, to send me 10 € (wasnt euro back then, but youll get the idea), gets 10.000 € back from me via mail. Ofc people fell for it. People fall for these kind of things all the time. People hand 50.000 € to a complete stranger ringing their door bell, because their "daughter" called them of the phone, that she needs that money urgently, else she dies of kidney-failure. People lose their entire life-savings, because some young goal-getter tells them, he has the perfect investment-strategy, that payes you 20% interest a year. Technically - in all of these cases, its their money, they worked for it, they are entitled to throw it away the want it, right? Still the law has something to say about it. -
Im often playing Leander myself and have played a lot of Newport since it was released. Recently, im not sure if its the changes or more and more bad players, but I agree with your observation, that a lof of games are lost. Something, that has never happened before, happened a couple of days ago: the second wave made it into the harbour. I sunk while trying to stop them - alone - since everyone else was already hugging the heal point. Can we maybe have "normal" and "hard" operations finaly, so the difficulty can be fine-tuned accordingly? This concerns many of the operations, f.e. Ultimate Frontier.

Doesnt matter if similar or not - your wording allows to make universal points for all ships in the game. Or you want to tell me, new or bad players dont have a hard time in Gneisenau/Algerie/Amagi/*put any ship here*? You want to tell me, good and experianced players cant turn a Marblehead/Kirov/*put any ship here* into a monster? But ill ask you again: You think, only bad players, that dont know how to play RN CLs are asking for buffs here? YOU fail to read other peoples post (and partly your own, I guess), else you would understand. How long is it going to take you, I wonder? Losing faith in you, while having a blast actually.

The sad truth. Problem: dont have french BBs.

Well, get some reading skills, check the entire thread and learn basic logic and you will find you, why you made my point :) Makes me smile that you dont understand.

I think, the problem is rather, that there are people like you, that perfectly understand, what gambling is and can limit themself, and then there are the others... WG throwing Missouri/Belfast/Kutuzov/Kamikaze in the gamble is just a fishy move and it stinks. A) it will attract to people to try going for it, just for the sole reason to get one of those ships, which they otherwise cant get. B) once started, and beeing unsuccessful, they are tempted to poor more money into it ("I already started and didnt get what I wanted. If I stop now, I lost money AND have nothing. Might aswell continue"). This is the core problem of gambling-addiction. C) Never forget: we are not dealing with physical boxes here. If I go on a lottery on a market and buy 10 of 1000 physical tickets, there is no way for the seller to influence what im holding in my hand (unless he is a total fraud ofc). With digital things however... I´d never ever engage in that. Has anyone ever thought, why they give streamer a ton of free boxes...? And to give a different angle on the whole subject: We dont need these loot boxes. They could just make all the stuff available in a seasons-sale and everyone could pick what they want. But chances are, WG would make less money that way. -
Seattle Cruiser T9. ! God to play ?
ForlornSailor replied to Shipmate_Peter's topic in General Discussion
I just checked and saw, that you already have Worcester. So there is no real reason to get the Seattle? Maybe if you are looking for a T9 Cruiser, so that you can play T9-Divisions? In that case, the Seattle offers the same kind of playstyle then Worcester - but it does everything a class worse. Which is ofc bad, since you have the same matchmaking in, idk, 85% of the times? If you are looking for a strong T9 cruser for the above reason as a keeper, maybe go Roon. Or Kronshtadt right away. Since Kron is going to be removed, Id think about getting either way. -
Why on earth are you so touchy? When I drop a one-line, that SSE isnt usefull (which is a perfectly normal thing to state) you call it "gospel truth". Then I explain in detail with facts and examples, why my position on SSE is the way it is - you call it - absolutly wrongly - a "straw man". That "Straw man" thing had become one of the most stupid things used in this forum, when trying to get out of a discussion and try to frame the opinion / position presented by someone else. By your own defintion, everything you said about "hiding a division mate in smoke" - is a straw man. I thought you can do better.
-
It is wrong. its a waste of points. No good RN CL player will advice your to skill SSE. And you cant utilize the benefits , simply cuz it has none (anymore). Matter of fact: I did run SSE on Leander prior to the buff, when smoke puff duration got increased. The only thing it used to be helpful at, was, covering you better when you had to panic smoke. SSE doesnt help a thing against beeing blapped in your smoke. It doesnt help a thing against beeing proxy spotted and on top of that: you can easy hide another ship in your normal smokescreen, so all you listed is not in favor of SSE. Its a waste of points. BTW: You´d probably use the ability to skill RPF, if you go SSE, which not having will hurt you a lot as a RN CL. Oh yea, I agree, they are designed to play that way, but the fact, that more and more RN CL players switch to radar, shows, its not a sustainble tactic anymore. It pretty much stands and falls with the enemy BBs, you get. You get a bunch of 40%´s, that never shoot in the smoke, never rush you but instead turn or reverse - you can easily farm them from your smoke. That used to be the case for a long time, but these days have passed. And thats most likely the reason, why Neptune is suffering so hard: Radar on Neptune is, due to her concealment, much less viable then on Minotaur and even on Edinburgh. And I further agree: Having RN CLs with Radar puts more pressure on DDs, which is not needed. RN CLs are prefectly capable of hunting / shutting down DDs without radar, its even much more fun, since you need to think. Ive had some of my best rounds in this game, when facing a skilled DD and we would battle forever. I once engaged in chatting with one DD player, after we pretty much fought for the entire game around one cap. We both had the opinion, that it was a hugly thrilling and entertaining game. I agree. Its the reason why people shoot the smoke, if they know, there is a RN CL. People shoot at Fijis and Edinburghs a lot less - why? harder to get a cita.
-
You write "lolnope" but what you meant was "lol yes". Thanks for agreeing with me - Neptune needs a buff. Thats the only thing you proved with your long post. Now, I wonder, why didnt you quote colonel pete, and spilled that stuff towards him? And make sure to read my post better next time and try to understand, what im saying, thanks in advance. Its experiance. And I fail to see that you gave any reason, why SSE would be THE skill for RNCLs? You compared it to IFHE for low-caliber-HE-Cruisers. THATS rather asthonishing.

WGEU Website - Dreadnought Marathon started on the 1st December - Can't see any missions in port?
ForlornSailor replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Thats why I was asking. Correct me, if im wrong, but there is also no dubloon-price set for the Dread? So what @hgbn_dk assumes, is actually very likely. But I guess there is no offical statement either. If it actually would give you dubloons, it might be somewhat interesting for people, that already own the ship. This way its just... Also, its december. You´d need a minimum of 6 games per day on 20 days of the month (you will need more in the avarage, some will need way more), to get this done, which is quite time-consuming. Not sure, why it had to be in december? We are still getting the P.E.Friedrich questline, so there is something actually usefull to spend time on this month. And we have clanbattles - where the progress doesnt count for daily missions. Could have pushed the Dread to Jan/Feb and have a month long event then. Weird. -
SSE is useless for RN CLs. So.. you are implying, that only bad and new players are asking for buffs? I mean, your wording is so universal, I could replace "british cruisers", "RNCL" or "Minotaur" with any other line or ship in the game, and it would make about the same sense.

Restrict CV's to one per team.
ForlornSailor replied to anonym_CsauhrZtDqUP's topic in General Discussion
Im sorry, but I have to ask: Do we play the same game? Do you yourself believe what you are writing? Did you pay attention, how the rework is going to be? Did you play the CV-test yourself? AA-potential after the rework? What potential ? 4 randoms grouping their AA against a CV? Like this is happening now? You still have you own allied CV? eeeh, where is the difference to now? Exept that he can now actually actively protect you from beeing spotted & striked - which wont be happening after the rework anymore. Who is going to play a DD anymore? I mean, you could ask the question for any class, but the DD is he most obvious one. How much fun is it going to be, when your round pretty much ends the moment you touch a cap. But the part of the community, cheering about the CV-rework is showing typical human behavoir. Envy to the max, they rather send their beloved game to hell - but hey! RTS-CV-Players finaly lose their Toy! HA! That´ll teach them. Its nothing different then two neighbors pulling each other to court constantly, waisting their entire life just to make the opponents life a living hell - not understanding or not caring, that they ruin their own life. Humanity in a nutshell.- 26 replies

Apart from the main argument beeing Neptune - Minotaur - (Edinburgh). Or do we really need to discuss T1 balancing?

ForlornSailor replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Well, Offtopic, but I have to say it: IMO - its absolute fraud. Its been done on the back of smaller companies, that do not have the options to do so, and ultimatly, on the back of us all. The tax income, that states are missing, has to come from somewhere. Imagine everyone could do so with any tax? I´d move my income tax to some small or rich country. All while I enjoy the social network, infrastructure etc - or like Apple: the market with people, that are able to pay their fantasy prizes - around me. I wish companys would be hold accountable to such behaviour. Dont pay taxes here? Fine. No access to our market! -

In general: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignorantia_juris_non_excusat I have no idea how this would look here tho... a lot of speculation. But anyone involved in this thread couldnt claim he didnt knew to whom he was gifting the boxes. If you gift a box to someone without receving money, that might be a whole different story again. Also, im not sure if WG will leave this thread running - they might be in violation of the law themself, if they allow / support a plattform to undermine the belgish law. But this is, again, very speculative. Just my personal view and thoughts. -

Well if you compare the situations to other situations - i can give an example. Here, in Finland, chewing tobacco is forbidden by law. It isnt in Sweden tho. There is a lot of traffic between Finland and Sweden and people bring that stuff over the border. It is allowed, if you use it yourself. If they can prove, that you distributed that - jail is waiting. And about the last part: Ignorantia legis non excusat. This is normal in any justice system. -

Are you going to get dubloons and a port slot? -
Straight down to the point, based on facts and I can agree 100%. Thats how a good, mature discussion looks like @ColonelPete - you can learn something right there. btw - I wont respond to your childish behavoir anymore. Dont you think, everyone can see, how foolish you look? Well, its your choice. Now about you post @Thracen. Ive played RN CLs pretty much since their release and I liked their style right from the start. And they were super-strong at the time of the release. Some of them were OP, but that was hughly because of the playerbase not beeing able to counter them. You had the 2 km buffer for detection, so that you could even gundown ships, that were rushing you. That this is gone, fine. I can understand, that it made RN CLs too strong. IMO - some ships still have a too high detection when firing their guns in smoke (looking at you, Neptune). On top of that, people learned to deal with RN CLs. Ive had situations, were enemys rather firied on my smoke, while I was never detected, then firing on BBs, that were closer (!) to them. Because they get rewarded with crazy damage if they hit, since Neptune and Minotaur take citas from every angle. Also, the introduction of battle-cruisers hurt Neptune and Minotaur. Ive you are to replace Kronshtadt and Stalingrad on the enemy side, you put your own side at a huge disadvantage. Those are -if played right- tanky ships. Theyll soak up a lot of damage and draw fire, while you in your RN CL are avoiding to be shot at at all costs. So your team has to deal with beeing shot at more then the enemy team in return, since the reds will focus on one ship less. But not only that, Stalin/Kron are the perfect RN CL killers. MY conclusion: over the last 12 months, the game has changed so much, the meta has changed and people have learnd to deal with RN CLs, that they need a buff. They dont need more firepower but they need more survivability. Id vote for a complete change of the citadel-layout on Neptune and Minotaur, so that they are inline with the other RN CLs. Might remove the superheal for that. Its a feature, that is not that helpful anymore. When did HE/Fire kill them? Its always BB AP.

Aha, interesting. He did NOT talk about Neptune, but he talked about Leander, according to you? Its clear why you dont want to post the stats of Neptune. Anyone, that has a real interest in discussing the subject unbiased and mature, would do so. But your agenda is clear. Just dont answer anymore. Unless you want to embarrass yourself further.
-
show us Neptune. Why dont you? Everyone is talking about high-tiers. Dont you know what High tiers is? And its commonly accpted, that Fiji is a top contester for the strongest silver cruiser in the game. You got nothing better to come up with? Erm... When your own stats show, that you suck with a certain ship/line, then I really wonder, how can you tell OP and others, that they dont know what they are talking about? When someone looks closly, what you write in the forums here, its always the same anyway: - there is no problem - its your fault - git gud You never post something else. Why do you even bother? I can save you some time. Copy those three lines in your signature, so you can drop empty posts from now on, which will have the same content basically.
-
Disprove? You didnt. Not even with the nut-picking you did. Since you sorted after Winrate, which was the only category, where Leander was no. 1. And Winrate says nothing about the performance of a silver ship, espeically when its below 50%. Btw - your own experiance says: OP is right! And you have a recent Winrate of 16,66% in RN CLs - enlighten us, what happened?

WG started to scamm people ?!?
ForlornSailor replied to UniverseInMyHand's topic in General Discussion
Well, the fact that it keeps popping up from a lot of people, indicates, that something is misleading there. If we look from the perspective of someone, who owns Massa (not B), the description is pretty clear. Now, put yourself into the position of someone, who doesnt own Massa. He goes to the shop, sees the offer and thinks "hey, its a nice offer , I can get some dubloons back just by playing that new ship". IMO - it is confusing enough to mislead people. WG should make the mission available for people, who dont own Massa. I dont think its good, that people feel scammed because one letter is there or not there. And that right before Xmas. @MrConway @Crysantos. just my 5c. -
