Lets face it, CVs will "never" work!
ForlornSailor replied to Atankean's topic in General Discussion
It wasnt everyone, it was a small bunch of ***********, *********, *********-******* that dont know how to play the game in the first place and everytime, they got touched by a CV, which they totaly deserved, because they were even annoying their own team, came to the forum and make up a bunch of non-sense to justify their whine. But yes, that group got what they deserved, I wish they would be forced to play 24 hours a day against the new CVs. As the only BB against 11 Hakuryus. And after every time, they got sunk, so about 124 sec in the game, I would go up to them and ask "You happy with CV now? Is good rework, aye!" Cant help it. This is ****. Literally me when looking at my port atm: -

Dude, you mentoned "most people" and "DD players" son dont give me any crrp about Shima. And if I would follow you literation: since when can Shima slot Hydro? Or is Shima the only DD around? See? prime example right there. As if SE is more usefull in 80% of the games. lul. complete misjudgement right there. Well. wows-community. Common sense actually would tell you to skill for AA. and btw: my Benson had SE also - how did I do that? You are really good in making up false arguments, right? First you talk about "the general playerbase" and when I refer to all players, you throw me "but shima" which clearly isnt all DDs in the world. Now make up some fake story about "crossdrop from three directions". How many CVs could do that? But nah, too much facts, lets just be 100% polemic and claim something, that everyone will a little knowledge can see through as fake right away. I always wonder, who this "you guys" is, that you keep refering to. You dont make much sense, just spilling out this non-sense, trying to make it look like, you arent in the same position as everyone else or somewhat moraly inferior to everyone. Newsflash: you aint and you are in the same boat as everyone else. Well, some of them are left, yes... -

Wut? no. I actually hoped, that the CV goes for me in my DD, since then I can keep him busy. And he cant eff-up the newbs in my team. I triggered so many (even good RTS CV players) with my AA build DDs, that it was a joy. I always did run Def AA on any ship, that can use it. Always used C-hull on Benson and Def AA and hardly ever divisioned with a CV. People not caring about AA was one of the reason, CVs were so strong and the main reason, that 3-man-divis with CV were whined about constantly. Nothing stopped you from skilling AFT/BFT/manual AA/putting AA module on your ship and highly increase your efficency against CVs. But no. Must skill SE because "then I got every round MOARRR HP and MOAARRR HP makes muh strong!" And then, when you* meet a CV, go to the forums and whine. Hypocrisy right there. *Just to be clear: i dont mean "you" as in you, but the playerbase in general. -

Inb4 someone seriously asks you, what button you are refering to Funny thing: I think less people would have complained about AA/RNG if they´d actually gave a healthbar to the planes and consistent damage like they implemented now. What again was the reason, this was never done? anyone? -
I see. I mean you sure want a ship, that is easy to play, still gets a lot of damage and can hardly be touched by the enemys, right? Well then take Hakuryu. First of all: depending how many free XP you have in store, it might be an option to wait for the Alaska. Its not a T10, but wont have any problems fighting them. It will be 1 million free XP and should be coming in the next weeks (but dont nail me on that one, to my knowledge, there is no definate release date set yet). Then: Because of how broken the Hakuryu atm is and im expecting more and more people to abuse this until WG is fixing it, playing T10 is not on my list atm and I´d advice everyone from staying away from that tier (and the tiers that can see T10s). Now that we have those 2 things out of the way. Ill give you a few insights about the ships that youve mentioned and that I know. Moskva. It is now idiot proof to play if you keep one thing in mind. Dont show your broadside. You can bowcamp, you can angle, if you are confident, but never ever show broadside. To anything. Even a Minotaur with its 152 mm can strip your full HP before you can turn away. The guns: AP is awesome. You can citadel everything, that has a hitable citadel on almost all ranges. The HE is mediocre, you want to stay away from it as often as you can. This all in mind: the gameplay of Moskva can be a bit boring. Early games you are stationary, bow on to the enemys and look for broadsides that you can abuse. The later the game gets and enemys thin out, the more you can be offensive. It plays very different to all the other russian cruisers. You cant shoot over islands because of the railguns, which is very annoying at first. It needs different positioning then say Chapayev or Donskoi. Oh and did I mention? never show broadside. Minotaur. Its basically a Neptune on steroids. Which has its ups and downs. Its even easier to blindshoot you and when you smoke up in open waters and dakka dakka - it will happen to you, trust me, I know what im talking about. The great advantage over the Neptune: the concealment. You can slot radar instead of smoke, hunt and f.... DDs like you always dreamed off. Killing 3 DDs in one game is not a problem for a Minotaur. But with Kronshtadts and Stalingrads around - the number of enemys, that can one-shoot you, has increased recently. Be very carefull. Now the other ships I dont own but I play together with them in division or know players very good, that have them, so ill give some shorter infos. Hindenburg is sort of a "Jack of all trades". Good armor (better than Moskva f.e.), has torps, that can be usefull when going cozy with a BB and ok-ish guns. HE is good, AP lacks a bit which is a shame, but you will get decent damage. Much like the Neptune - Minotaur, the Hindenburg is a better version of the Roon. It can do the same things but better. Kurfürst. Not the best T10 BB in the current meta. People camp in the back, so secondary build is not as strong anymore as it used to be. The guns lack in comparision to Yamato or Montana in penetration and/or accuracy. It can still do decent damage. Superstructure is huge, so even cruisers will deal damage to you. Strong point: Hydro, protected citadel. Shima is in a though spot. You need to play it careful. The problem is the huge number of ships with high DPM, that will eat you alive. Not even cruisers like Mino or Worcester but also DDs like Daring or Harugumo. Before Ill make a suggestion among the ships you mentioned, ill throw something else on the table: Henri IV. Its awesome. The HE is super, you can mess up Stalingrads with it, which is a huge bonus (especially in CBs). Its fast and the best thing is the reload booster. You see someone used DCP and you want to get some permafires? reload boost. a DD pops up and you want to make sure it wont escape? reload boost. You catch a cruiser broadside and want to get easy damage + a kill? reload boost. You have a Yamato broadside right in front of - thats when the fun starts - make him go WTF ??? and use your reload booster. Now if that isnt an option, then Ill go for the Hindenburg. Its pretty forgiving, can rack up nice damage and if you survive until the end game it has the potential to carry games.

Right now? Hakuryu.

The New CV Is the funnest, Best thing ever!!1!
ForlornSailor replied to Riggerby's topic in General Discussion
Yea I did. We are 2 days in the rework and if you want to stick to that, then thats fine. The reason, you have a picture like that, is, because you cleary havent met the guys, that figured out how to (ab)use the CVs. There are literally people doing 260k average damage, with top rounds reaching in 400k...450k... 550k and they will reach more (the 550k game could have easily been a 580~600k game). Doesnt quite fit into the picture you are drawing, dont you think? -

Dude, what you are telling here is not "what CVs can and cant do" its "what RBay can and can not do". I dont think you really want to tell us, that you are playing your Lexington to the maximum of its abilities and thus, the performance you see there, is the bar to judge on the current state of the CVs? Im sorry but you need to git gud and by doing that, refute your own claims. I did this in a couple of other threads. The Forum is a mess right now, mods cleary have given up, else they would work and force all the discussion into on thread. Instead its spread over 3 or 4 or i dont know how many pages on the forum. So yea, Im not going to repeat all of this in every thread, you want to keep the overview you need to skim through all threads. Or you go to my profile --> recent posts and check the relevant in the CV topics. There are statistics, videos, screenshots, conclusions, references to polls, cross-references to the old CVs, AA-comparision etc. Thats pretty constructive. Some would say, more constructive then taking your word for it, i think. -

@RBay you clearly havent figured out the new CVs yet so you shouldnt comment on those things you quote and pretend you know better. -
No, that guy was actually looking for advice on how to play, very friendly and absolutly nothing wrong with him. Frist: He did no such thing. He asked about how to cap, how to play IJN DDs and how to support his team. Second: LATER he wrote something about CVs? Yes, after you kept spamming about CVs. And even IF he LATER would say something about CVs - you can look into the future or what? You were spamming that thread with total off-topic non.sense, completly missing the point. You have 284 threads about CVs on the first 5 pages of this forum yet you had to go and stomp in the one thread, that wasnt about CVs and make it about them aswell. 10 out of 10.

This whole new concept of "CV" is a disaster.
ForlornSailor replied to mantiscore's topic in General Discussion
They always should have been in the first place. I was torturing my keyboard for years trying to argue for it. Playing a T8 CV in a T10 match was equally stupid as playing the same CV against T6 ships. -

And yours are avarage. There are people doing 250k average on one end and 10k on the other end. The average doesnt show anything. Infact, I can by these numbers also claim, that im right. Skill gap is huge, ofc the average will look like that. If I add 10 and 1 I still get 5,5, which is not balanced compared to having 5 and 6 and still getting an average of 5,5. I know your mantra when posting in the forums is "everything is fine, nothing has changed". I wonder what I takes to get your to admit a change or something beeing wrong? A worldwide damage record with a derp at the end 2 days in the rework? Its how much higher then the previous record? 100k? and we havent seen the last of it. People with 12...15 k random games played need 20~40 games with new CV to do: new kill record, new damage record and new spotting damage record - the last one is very funny, since WG claimed "spotting is now reduced". Also, all of these people have now showing "most spotted ships in one round: 12" It shows, WG didnt understood, whats possible in the rework. They tested and played it like average players. They didnt understood, how you could push them to the limits. It took the community 2 days to find it out - or lets say: to find SOME of these things out. Who knows what else can be abused? -

People are raging in the ingame chat about it all the time. Doesnt matter if coop, ranked, operations. Not exaggerating here when I say: this has never happened after a patch. -

550k damage has never happened before in wows. ever. And he derped. Should have eeesialy been 580~600k dmg. -

I hope you pay attention: should this be happening? -
It never was as bad as some people painted it to be. Often you had two bad/mediocre CVs facing each other, which basically meant, it was business as usualy for the rest of the players. How often did the 3-man-super unicum division vs glueeater really happen? 1 out of 100 high tier games maybe. There is still a reason most people didnt bother will skilling for AA - because most of the time you simply didnt need it.
-
You do realize we are talking about a videogame here, right? Nobody gives a flying what people "achieve" here and you will gain nothing in real life, even if you get an avarage damage of 2 millions with a winrate of 99,99%. But clearly some people are after that, as if it will give eternal life to them or make them super rich. So this whole concept of "defending my OP toy" is totaly beyond me, im sorry. So is any analogy to situations in real life.
-
I hope its not an unknown concept to you, but there are people out there, that dont pick ships because they are OP and care about balancing the game to make it fair for all classes...
-
Forum becomes unusable right now. There is a thread, where one guy asks for advice on how to play DD and people are spilling their CV- in there. With no word did the OP there even mentioned the CVs.
-
WG Kwuality Kontrol. btw - people are also breaking their all time spotting damage records. People with 12k+ games in randoms need a handful games in the new CV to achieve this. Meanwhile WG says "new CVs dont spot as much as the old ones did". You cleary know you game over there folks, great job!
-
I predicted something like that, but this is worse then I thought. But I got called out a "negative nelly" in the forums - yesterday still.

What do you do in this situation?
ForlornSailor replied to You_Overextended's topic in General Discussion
Yea, you want to avoid that with IJN DDs, especially with the lower tiers ones that you are playing recently (Minekaze/Isokaze I saw). Id also suggest, when you notice, you have problems with knife-fighting, to try to avoid it. What you can do, to activly not get into those situations is f.e.: Get only into caps, where your team - especially cruisers - are near and ready to support you. Turn inside or even before entering the cap, so you show your stern towards the direction, where the enemys would come from. This way, you can disengage faster. And remember, when you shoot your guns, you will be detected usualy for atleast 20 sec. So often its a valid option to just stay silent and run. Goes especially for IJN DDs. Thats actually a nice idea. I love it! How does this sound @MrConway @Crysantos ? Oh we have plenty of awesome DDs players around here that are more then willing to offer advice. Im sure by tomorrow you will tons of helpfull tips. -
