Please nerf CV's WG. So OP now. OMG. REEE

Yup. And that pretty much tells everything about the screen. Since when do we do this here in the forum? And why did you feel a need to open this topic @MortenTardo ? As if the forum isnt spamy enough right now with useless stuff. Man I really thought you could do better. And you critiziced someone else yesterday for not making sense. Some people really got turned upside down due to the rework. Way to go.

I was looking forward to Hakuryu torps

So go throw more money at WG. Im sure then you will be the unicum, that you deep down know you are.
  3. Yea, Asashio beeing in trouble makes sense, because BBs are hanging back even more in CVs games then they used to be. Shinonome is also completly effed in 2x CV games. You get literally nothing done.

    The new AA is boring

You are T6, he is T8. Thats the answer. You want to know how a T6 DD feels against a T8 CV? Its equally broken.

A solution to all issues - Double Random games

Yea.. hard to disagree about that, its true. This game is really weird in the sense, that people activly refuse to work together and thus give divisions more impact from the start.

    The new AA is boring

So before you could tell when and if your planes were going to die? Nope. Now you can. Actually: The reason why you cant click anymore, is because of the non-overlapping auras. So right now the AA can shoot up to 3 targets with full AA on each of them, if they are all in different auras. That was easy... You cant really think that. The old AA was around for years and huge part of the playerbase never focused tagets manualy - even when it made the AA a lot stronger. So those people wont use the new system. Its obvious, WG doesnt want that. More differences in AA = harder to balance. I wrote this about 3-man-CV-divis before. If you check the goals of WG, that they have with the rework, its clear, they want to go for a balanced AA, that you can not influence as much as before anymore. Yea, that I totaly agree with. It has removed the skill from the one, that is been attacked. Its just not really about the AA, its about the interaction between CVs and the defender ;) But ill get what you meant now.

AFT or manual AA for AA cruisers?!

Well you need AFT on Atlanta, so... I guess the captains dont sync as good as before, sadly. But if it stays as it is right now, the AA of the Worcester is strong enough either way.

AFT or manual AA for AA cruisers?!

Id also go for manual AA. But with the next hotfixes/patches this might all change again. I hope the captain respec will stay or atleast we get another chance, once the balancing is done.

    The new AA is boring

Well, then you are talking more about how CVs attack with the rework, not the AA itself. Because doding against a crossdrop vs watching how one squadron attacks you a couple of times in a row isnt about AA but rather about how the CVs work. Now I can understand what you are talking about but maybe you should change the headline, because you really dont talk about the AA ;)
  10. Seriously - this was the best chatlog from wows ive ever seen! Thanks for sharing, you made my day!

    Over-nerfed CVs

Having two accounts? You need to be less Sherlock and listen more to what people say. Or be actually more Sherlock and see, that he was actually targeting someone else with that claim, which I told him was wrong, because Ive played in division with said person while he was... a CV

    The new AA is boring

What exactly was more active with the old AA-mechanic? Selecting the plane you want to focus? Because that was about the only activity you had. Now you have sector reinforcement. And why do you think this new one is more RNG? Before, planes didnt have a health pool, and sometimes you´d drop 3 in 2 sec, while on other occasions ,the same engagement yielded 0 plane kills in 15 seconds. Everything about the old mechanic was RNG. And it was so for both the CV and the player, that gets attacked. Also - AA skills of the captains and modules were much stronger as they are now ? Before, you could buff your AA range ro create huge no fly zones. You cant buff range anymore. I can understand a lot of criticism against the CV-rework, but how the AA-mechanics and the AA-skills/modules have been changed is actually a really good thing. Its better in terms of visuals, balance, has reduced RNG and gives a better feedback to both the CV and the player, that is defending.

A solution to all issues - Double Random games

I think, there is a reason why WG reduced the effect of AA-skills and modules. And those are the 3-man-try-hard-divisions with a CV. Those always brought 2 AA-heavy ships with them, that were fully specced for AA. Ofcourse this makes sense, why wouldnt you? This setup often gave a huge advantage to that team, simply because the other team didnt have ships prepared for that. I always had and have the opinion, that most people were wrong, when they claimed, those matches have been won because of the CV or even the skill gap between the CVs. No, it was the specialization of the division. Even a decent / very good CV player had to stuggle, when meeting such a division. Now if the players of such a division were unicums themselfes on top... Back to the point: By giving less effect to AA-skills / modules AND raising the base values of AA at the same time (little bit subject of speculation, since those numbers are still changing, but I think we can assume the direction we are going), WG removed the impact of those divisions. Since lowering the impact from CVs to the outcome of the match was / is on WGs agenda, i think, this is intentional.

A solution to all issues - Double Random games

To those that are worried about seal clubbing in the beginers/normal battles: you could restrict divisions to 2 or even exclude divisions completly. But yea, this is all pretty much theoretical talk. As @Senpai_not_my_citadel said - its very unlikely WG would introduce anything close to this system I guess.

Not sure how you conclude that from the suggestion in the OP. elaborate please?

    Z-39

Psst, dont tell our little secret !! But yea, Z-39 is super strong. It has not much problems beeing low tier, it is awesome in DD vs DD fights and the torps are really good.

    Over-nerfed CVs

Yes, and the next patch is already announced and it will change those values again. So talking about the current situation is somewhat a waste of a time, since its already yesterdays news. We dont know, how it will look like next week. No, there is not. Since im in other topics critizicing the state of low tier CVs aswell as the balance between AA and CVs for CVs, that span across 3 to 4 tiers, aka T6 and T8 CVs. So, im well aware of this and its one of the reasons I dislike the (current state) of the rework. Well. I could fly to the moon. technically. Yea its impossible to check this with stats as of this point. The stats are now tainted with pre and after hotfix input so I hope nobody will get the idea of using them to try and proof anything.

    Side bars vs "reality"

It might be, that the BB was spotted but outside of your maximum spotting range. This happens to DDs a lot. I have only played with that mod for a short while, thats why im not 100% on this but: afaik, the healthbar does only update, when you yourself also see said ship. Again, not 100% sure on that, but it would certainly explain this. And someone must have spotted that BB before, else he couldnt have taken damage right? btw - was he right with the 27k estimate?

    Over-nerfed CVs

What makes you think, that after 15 games you have mastered how to dodge and how to play CVs? If a new player with 15 games played would come here and say "its impossible to avoid showing broadside in a cruiser" he would be flamed into the ground and people would rightfully tell him to "gitgud" and "l2p. Now you can guess my answer to you.
  22. ForlornSailor

    Over-nerfed CVs

nope. You - are - not - suppose - to - do - that. Please check up WGs goals for the CV rework and you will understand this. Maybe. Takes 30 sec. About the time a BB needs to reload. So people are learning how to counter. If the enemy team does this better then your team - you should lose. Its not so much down to the CV anymore, who wins the game. Again, one of WGs goals. You are telling them right now "well done WG". Every played a DD against smart enemys? You will end up with super low damage. But hey: you can still spot, if you are willing to accept that role. Same goes for the CVs now.

    Over-nerfed CVs

Silly you. You are not supposed to ask question. Just spend money on free XP to get strong ship on day of release, da! Now also think about, how russian BBs can deal with the DoT-threat of the CVs much better then any other BB and rework makes sense all of a sudden. $$$ Yep. And this was clear from day one. CVs got reduced to deal damage but at the same time will be cut in their abilites to deal damage, because they had too much impact. So everyone argueing, that the new gameplay needs to be more fun, is on a futile path. It aint gonna happen. This is not my opinion, but a simple conclusion from a) how the gameplay is and b) how WG presented their goals with the rework. What is there to balance anyway? You can adjust the direct damage CVs inflict. Its a fine line between too strong and useless weak. And we will be closer to "weak", because, once again, WG said "we want to take away alpha-strike capabilites of CVs". Then you can balance the AA of the ships. Since WG also want to reduce the abilites of CVs to influence the outcome of games, we can conclude, it will be stronger then before. Some AA-values on BBs are a strong hint, that this is infact the case. If anyone thinks, this will HUGHLY change - you are in for a bad surprise I think. Anyone really thinks, f.e. Yamatos short range AA will be cut by 50~75%? Anyone really thinks, that WG would be that far off with their innitial balancing? No, its their goal. The last thing: you can balance DoT. WG is already touching this, it will come with the next regular patch, and it also hints you, where we are going: Overall, flooding will be reduced, especially in Cruisers, and BBs can now build to widthstand floodings better. So everyone can take a guess again, how WG sees the interaction of DoT from CVs inflicted to other ships - its too strong right now. Thats why I also am pretty sure, we are now, after the hotfix, pretty close to the final product already. And it will also, in the longrun, miss the mark, that WG set, wanting to have more or less 1 CV in every game. Only way to achieve this, would be, to make them stronger which a) goes against their goal and would b) make huge part of the community unhappy. Those are all simple conclusions from how CVs and AA are right now + what WG has given out as information. You can disagree and stomp your feet, but that didnt help much in the past. Same as blaming some people for "causing the hotfix with their whine". Again. WG wanted to reduce the abilities of CVs to deal damage (you can look that up, its in their videos, their dev blog etc) and then, after 48h, the damage was up compared to old CVs + world dmg record broken couple of times. They pushed the hotfix, because they saw from their own numbers, that the CVs overperformed compared to what they want to achieve.

    Jean Bart: Armour Buff

You have some interesting points there. I absolutly agree, that this game needs time to master, as in really master it. You can see this in the stats of the real good players, that have been aound for a long time - it took them time to get there. And I also agree with, that the game gives you a wrong picture about this. First, its f2p and second, it throws you right into action without telling you much. So youd expect a very action-heavy, not so tactical, deep gameplay. I wasnt different in that sense when I started. I pretty much thought "once you got the aiming right, you can rush and win every fight 1vs1". Yea... its not how it works. But im sure, many people do think that way. Its the reason for a lot of complaints, I beleive. The game would be better off, selling and promoting itself like, say, Europa Universalis. There, the game tells you from the start "hold on buddy, stuff here is pretty complicated and it takes time to understand everything". A first step would be tutorials, that you´d need to master. Which should be designed in a way, to really teach you some things about the game. How to shoot as a BB against other ships, how to look for tactical positions as a cruiser, how to stay stealthy as a DD, whats your job in a certain class... I cant even list all of those things, there are so many.

    Over-nerfed CVs

There is a huge difference in saying Haku was overnerfed or saying, Haku should have never been changed (which is the message of the guy, marioous is arguening against). One you can agree with or maybe argue about - the other is straight out non-sense :)
