A) in practice - thats the same thing. B) yes, ill be that guy and ill bite: Yes, I do have a problem with that. Because you want to throw good players under the bus, they shall somehow be hampered in their effords to win games, by constantly facing each other. And why? just so that 40% people, that play "gunz go BOOOMMM" raise their Winrate from 39% to 49%. You know what? I dont care about those people (unless they make an efford to actually get better). They dont deserve 39% - when talking about, what they deserve, its actually between 0 to 5% WR. The game already makes up for their shortcommings, because there are so many of them arround, that they already "balance" the influence they have on a game. read: negative impact. So, im actually not willing to give up my Winrate, my XP and my credits just so that a 39% thunderer mong can feel better about himself and take part of my rewards. -

Indeed. I just wanted to say: it rewards aggressive DD play in terms of winning the game - but the other rewards... on the other hand: once YOU are stuck with the specshuul team, that gathers in one of the corners behind the island, you can do whatever you want as a DD. Happened to me on Tears of the desert last week. Enemy team had a unicum DD/CV/Cruiser divi on top, my Team loved the border. While I was YY, fighting against Daring, Mino and the attention of the CV. Best thing was, when the enemys had 900 points and i was fighting to stay alive, blocking atleast the outer cap, some BB from the border shared his wisdom with me "why dont you finally cap, DD." GOD DAMN! spank me hard and call me Mary - I didnt thought about that one! glad we have mr 40% border hugging Thunderer, that knows how to play this game... -

True. I know thats what happened and its indeed the reason, why especially T7 is so bad these days. But honestly, WG should absolutly do something about this. If they care about the game and the balance. -

I think we all agree on that. But skillbased MM or limiting the tiers in matchmaking will not change that? If anything, it will create new problems. How do you think, a new player will learn the game, when he is stuck in the worst part of the matchmaking and is pampered by the matchmaker so that he gets more wins? there are different apporached to skill based mm, but they do have in common, that the winrate of everyone will go towards 50%, thus eliminating one crucial feedback, which is "oh man, I actually suck". How do you account for the core machanic of the game, which is XP and credits? Bad players get easier access. Good players have their income lowered. why? How do you account for divisions (depending on which type of skill based mm you go for, this problem gets HUGE)? list goes on, really. Skill based mm does not fit in this game, it doesnt matter how good your arguements are, that it would improve the gameplay. -

I dont want to get too deep into the first point. Well, lets give a little food for thought. You call it matchmaker, I call it braindead people. I dont blame the matchmaker, when players are simply too stupid to make use of the easiest sort of teamplay available, which would not only put the team in a winning position but also benefit them individually by reaching much higher damage numbers, for example. I dont see skill based matchmaking as the way out - reasons why are explained in the 200+ page long mm-topic over and over so lets cut this part here. The part about the lack of info about removed ships is true tho. But I think thats by design. WG needs the veterans to dangle those "OP" ships (if they are, is up for debate on each individual case, im just stating how players, that dont have access to those ships usually see them) infront of the new players, so they spend cash on xmas to have a chance *coughcough* to get them... 2nd point about +/-2 MM: yes, I think, this needs to go. Especially since WG have created so many artifical breaking points, like throwing T7s under the bus by denying them access to concealment module, the plaitig of BBs primarily or the changes with the IFHE rework. Quite frankly, +/-1 mm would not even solve this problem for the T7s but atleast for the T6s so it would make that Tier interesting to play again. But yea, much like with the removed ship, I feel all the points you are talking about - are by design. WG wants to drive people to the high tier ships. spend money to speed up the grind? goal reached. Feel how useless your T7 is against a T9? yea, just buy your way up. Or buy a premium T9 right away. So, realisticlly asking: you think, things will change? Keeping the model of the game in mind? Its how it is, how it always was and always will be... -

How about you start with not playing a class, which you obviously dont know how to play? As in DDs? You have hardly any experiance in higher tier DDs. You deal 13k on avg, you have a spotting record of 30k in ranked with a DD! How are you surprised, that you lose, when you dont contribute anything? In this season, I have set 157k spotting as a record with my DD - do you see the difference? As a DD, its very easy to put your team in a losing position. That is, what you are doing right now, the stats dont lie on that one. -

And thats the reason (i think!) why WG made AA-skills useless. Because before, people had full AA-builds on their mino/monty/DM for example , teamed up with a CV and had a huge advantage this way, because hardly anyone skilled for AA. Yes, thats normal. And indeed it must be this way, else players will abuse the mechnics. -

Ha, indeed, same here! I played quite a few games with a DD. Queue shows 1 DD but for some reason, each side gets 3 every time.... Nothing wrong with that and we always had players with that mindset. But still, at most stages of the game, we didnt saw these queues filled with BBs. There was one time and that was, when the german BBs got released. The thing is really, what was already mentioned in this topic before: BBs are the most viable, reliable class to play now. You can do everything. Other classes, especially cruisers and DDs, struggle. I for example dont like BBs all that much (with a few exceptions, among it Missouri, due to the same reason you love Bismarck), but last ranked season - I played mostly Massa. Yes, I tried DDs, which I prefer to play (and from my own perspective do much better in), yet I couldnt get the results that I got with Massa. BB was easy mode. -

Ohoh, I have a new favourite: range build Grozovoi! But GOD DAMN IT WG ! remove the perma disabled torpedo tubes - you just destroyed an epic game. I lost... BOTH tubes and had to use guns only for the last part - with 3 BBs and the CV still around. I was crying inside. -
Im not sure if you can cast a final verdict or a clear yes/no on that? Its situational I guess. Depends what sits in front of you, if someone is raining HE on the target with you, and so on. I think neither is bad or wrong, so one just has to make a decision and play accordingly.

And thats why people "arguing" like that are - stupid. end of story. oh now I understand why you asked to play T5... :D But I actually switched captain just today. Was only 14 points (I bumped 4 points via elite XP because I just want to have Dead eye) Again - how do you know? Also, Dead Eye on Fuso doesnt make that much sense + you can have it with a 10 point captain. Which ofc makes even less sense, but its possible. But not really helpful. Its almost as if you would complain about BBs using SE (when they still could), saying, they have more health, its an advantage and the sign of a high tier captain. -

Ofc. The pleb ships toy around in the center, so the real ships, that watch whats happening from 20 km out, got something to shoot at. Soon gunsounds of Cruisers and DDs will be replaced by Duck-noises and we get a special camouflage, that will make look cruisers and DDs like this:

Yes, happened in every game yesterday aswell. It got easier to kill the CV but the convoy is not more at risk. Lost a star yesterday, because 4 ships when for the CV and our division of 3 could only sent one ship in the harbour early then... but you cant kill them fast enough before they sink a convoy ship.

It had to be done :) Not 100% happy with the end - I reversed to drop detection, because I was on double fire and used DCP for them. Which worked but.... a DD from out of B cap blindfires over the island in my direction, hit one shell and what? gets a fire. So Im detected again. Ofc from a Thunderer I dont expect anything else but HE (he puts fire no 2 on me) BUT the Kurfürst also shoots HE and... perma fire number 3. I die to the fire exactly 1 sec before my heal is up again. sigh. Could have been a much better game. btw, what I only realize now: Okinawa of all maps :) You did that on purpose, right WG? :D -
Can we expect good play from Cruisers/DD players?

Its all just symptoms of WGs decisions, mostly from the past 2 years. We have seen a constant nerf of DDs and Cruisers. IFHE nerfed, fire chances nerfed (now effectivtly again with the captain rework), flooding pretty much removed (they dont even care, that you practically cant get the liquidator achievement anymore). But BBs got buffed, more accuracy, more secondary range, more everything. DDs cant have smoke anymore and every DD line introduced exells on hunting other DDs or maximum cruisers. Torps? yea, are allowed to deal 3k damage on a BB. Much like CV torps. -

I wonder if you know, that if I´d have won 1 of the losses I´d have a higher WR than you ^^ But if your hate for me drives you to be a better player that now all of a sudden cares for stats - good for you! You are almost at my overall ranked winrate. Today that is. Keep it up, you might get there :)

This. And with normal tools you have no way to verify if your PSU is working properly. Please dont mention any software, OP, that you uses to check voltage level - they cant do that. Whats your PSU? How old?
